Somewhere Shadow was at G.U.N. HQ when he suddenly felt an ominous aura in the air that he can't quite put it. It's like something right there at the tip of your tongue but can't pronounce it into word, he thought. The Crimson splash hedgehog sigh as he tried to make sense of this then he decide to just ignore it, at the same time Sonic felt it as well and he doesn't like what he was sensing in the air as the sudden change in weather from sunny to dark stormy cloud coming and violently crashing thunder can be seen in the sky, he's have this feeling at his right chest like as if he was being stabbed but he can't quite make sure why he feels this way so the blue hedgehog just trying to brushed off the feeling and not thinking about it.
Sonic was at Amy apartment but only to find out she wasn't there, ever since the park incident he was trying to contact and meet the Sakura hedgehog directly to apologize to her and start being friends again but each time he miss her it's really seems like luck was not in his favor right now. So with a sigh Sonic leave her apartment complex and will tried again another time hoping that he can finally apologies.

At Angle Island Knuckles was guarding the Master Emerald like any other day when he saw a familiar bat flying towards his direction.
"Hey there Knuckie, long time no see" the white blue eyes bat greeted the red echidna
Knuckles grumble under his breath when he heard the nickname that Rouge use "Yeah... But this is rare for you to visit me" Knuckles said then his eyes suspiciously narrowed at her "You're not here for the Master Emerald again are you?"
Rouge huff at him "Oh please, I could've take it anyway when you're not looking" Knuckles tried to protest then the ivory bat cuts him "No, I'm not here for the Master Emerald. I was just here to stay for a while" she pointed to the storm that was coming toward their direction
Knuckles nod at her acknowledging her reason "I know what you mean, the weather was fine a minute ago then it suddenly change into stormy" he said then continue "So where are you actually heading?"
"I was informed that there was a magnetic field near Station Square that suddenly make a massive blackout in the area" Rouge informed him "though this information was late sent to the base, the estaminet time when the blackout had occured was around three weeks ago"
Knuckles think of an idea before he spoke up "Why not asked Tails for help? He might have something that could help you with your investigation besides I'm not cut out for this science stuff" he told
"I'll think about it" Rouge answer "Is he in his workshop here?"
"I think so... It's been a while since I've last check on him, he's been so absorb in his new invention"
Rouge thought over her plan and goes with Knuckles suggestion "Then I should pay him a visit"
As Rouge waited for the storm to subside both her and Knuckles start a small banter between each other to passed time after an hour had passed and the storm subsided she says her farewell to the echidna before making her way to Mystic Ruins where she would pay a visit to the twin tailed fox. The Ivory bat make her way to the door of the workshop and knocked on the door waiting for the kitsune to answer, the door open to reveal a yellow two tailed fox wearing an smith apron and a goggle.
"Oh Rouge! What are you doing here?" Tails asked
"Knuckles suggest to me that you could help me with a magnetic field anomaly near Station Square that had cause a massive blackout" she said
"Oh, of course! Let me get my equipment" then Tails went inside his workshop, the kitsune then emerge bringing a small portable device
Rouge interest was pique at the sight of the device "Is that what you have been working on for the last couple of weeks?" The Ivory bat question
The kitsune shook his head "No that device wasn't finished yet and it's purpose wasn't for this type of occurrence" Tails answered "This device that I'm bring is a magnetic wave tracker, this device allowed us to pin point the location of origin and record it's magnitude" he explained the use of the small portable device
"I guess we're good to go then" Rouge said
And both take flight towards Station Square alongside Tails, upon arrival they were greeted by passed by Amy and Blaze.
"Tails! Rouge! Long time no see, how's you've been?" Amy asked
"Hello Amy, Blaze it's been a while since we see each other huh" Tails said "I'm fine Amy, thank you"
"Did you finally finished your newest invention Tails?" The Sakura girl question
"No, it's not finish yet. I'm helping Rouge with an investigation" the kitsune told them and Blaze was intrigued with that
"What investigation?" The feline princess asked
"It was about the black out that happened three weeks back, and Rouge thought it was cause by a massive magnetic field near Station Square"
Amy then step up "then can we help out too? The more people you have the more ground we can cover" she explained and Rouge give the two girls a pass to help out
Then all of them were start going with Tails tried to find the origin of the magnetic field from three weeks ago suddenly Tails device starting to make beeping noise as it scanned the area then it notified them of the location origin.
"Ah! I think the device found it's location" Tails exclaim then all of them rushed to the area that the device point to be it's source
When they arrive at the location, they saw the earth was tear apart by a gigantic crystals, the grass and the trees surrounding the area was incinerated though other than that the place was rather quite.
"What happened to this place?" Amy question as she saw everything there was burned
"It must be what cause the magnetic field" Tails answer while looking at his device "though from the looks of it, it wasn't here anymore"
They're all start investigating the area and searching for evidence that what had cause the place to burnt but their search only brings nothing.
"We've covered everything in this place and there's nothing to found" Amy whined almost feeling hopeless
"But there's must be something here that could give us a clue" Tails said
Blaze look around a bit then point towards the tear "We haven't checked what's maybe down there" she said
Then the three of them go towards the tear in the earth and carefully look below only to see nothing there.
"That is quite strange if this place was incinerated it must be because of something burning the place but there's nothing in here" Blaze said somewhat confused but then think of what might have cause it in the first place
"Maybe something or someone had move it?" Amy points out but the shrugged it off "but that's impossible" she shake her head
While Tails, Amy and Blaze were discussing of what could something in the tear potentially could be Rouge was more interested in the mysterious blue and purple crystal, she take a small sample of the crystal to be analyze later in the G.U.N. HQ. The Ivory bat turned her attention back to the group.
"This should be enough" Rouge concluded "I think we should head back, it's starting to get dark"
"Yeah..." Tails and Amy said in unison, Blaze only nod in agreement then all of them start heading home
Rouge head back to G.U.N. HQ, then she headed towards the lab where the Ivory bat came across Shadow on the way to the lab. The Crimson splash hedgehog approach her.
"Did you find anything?" Shadow cut to the chase
"What, no greetings?" Rouge say colly though she knew better that the ultimate lifeform never greeted people "yes, I found this strange crystal at the magnetic field location that was mysteriously burnt"
She walked to the lab and Shadow followed her wanting to know about the crystal origins, Rouge put the crystal in a vial and proceed to analyzed it.
"This may take a while" the Ivory bat said to him as the screen visual showing them breaking the crystal components
"Well if it's done analyzing, tell me" with that Shadow left the lab
After an hour Shadow waiting and reading books to kill time, the results finally came and Rouge informed the black hedgehog.
"So, is there anything coming up?" Shadow question
"Sadly no, but the strange component that were found that make up the crystal was almost similar to chaos energy" Rouge said then added "the strangest thing is that the chaos energy is almost the exact chaos energy you had"
"How is that possible?"
"That's what we don't know, I will try to investigate the location again tomorrow"
