Chapter 1

It was one of the coldest nights of Godrick Hollow's history. James and Lilly were very cold. They were snuggled up with Harry, their beautiful son. Outside there was a horrifying green aura but James and Lily didn't protect Harry and ran outside, leaving Harry behind. A horrifying green cloud came from inside the cellar, twisting and turning a black stink of ink spilled all over the house. Lilly and James ran straight into the woods. In the woods there was a massive stone pillar erupting from the centre of the forest. The couple were terrified, clutching each other. But what jumped out of the pillar surprised them both it was the Dursley family. Each member was fatter and chubbier than both remembered.

"My lord, my lord, they're here!" cried the patriarch of the family, Vernon Dursley. James noticed all three of the Dursley's were wearing dark robes with hoods pulled up over their piggy foreheads. Ferociously the ground started to tremble and an ominous dark figure rose up. Once the cloud had deteriorated the was a figure his face was a thunderstorm pale and furious.

"For shame, the great Lily and James Potter, abandoning their child. Such cowardice," the figure crowed, its thin lips twisting into a cruel smile. Voldemort rushed towards the couple but a shield formed around Lilly and James. Voldemort screamed and disappeared in shattered glass.

"My Lord, oh my Lord, my beautiful Lord no" Vernon wailed, falling to his knees, trying to scoop up and gather the cloudy shards that were once the great dark wizard. The other to members of the Dursley clan gnashed and wailed like wild animals, falling to the ground and trying to help Vernon with his doomed task and James and Lily saw their chance to escape.

Chapter 2

James grasped Lilly's hand and sprinted to their car the Dursleys saw them and screamed at them and chased them towards the car however they were to slow and the couple escaped.

Panting and staggering through the woods, Lily and James eventually managed to reach the road. There were no cars, it was just dark and quiet. They could not even hear the wailing of their pursuers anymore.

"What have we done?" James said, more to himself than to Lily, as he stared down the dark road.

"We had no choice," Lily said dully, like there was no emotion or life left in her voice.

"We had a choice, we could have fought," James said, still not looking at her. He didn't know if he'd be able to look at her ever again after she said that.

"You know he'd have killed us," Lily replied, "come on. If we keep walking down the road we'll reach the village. We can use the phone and call for help."

James nodded. He watched her walk down the road, her feet echoing in the empty night. How could she be so calm? How could she accept the horror of the last few minutes? He felt as if his feet were moving on their own as he began to follow her into the darkness.

After a few minutes of walking James began to hear traffic and voices. They were close to Godrick's Hollow. James quietly crept out the car and snuck into Godricks hollow. He sprinted to the nearest shop he could find but before he could enter, he found Dumbledore lying unconscious outside olivander's. James was wondering why he was unconscious but then he heard the Dursley's laughing and running away from them. Then Lilly screamed "James" at the top of her voice.

Chapter 3

James shouted back and James saw Lilly sobbing sprinting towards him. He embraced Lilly with a big hug and comforted her with a warm smile. As Lilly looked down, she screamed again because dumbledore's eyes were dripping with blood. James stood up and took Lilly's hand and picked up dumbledore and cast a spell which sent them straight to Hogwarts. James rushed straight into Hogwarts to find the nurse McGonagall. James shouted to the nurse.

'Please give him whatever medicine you can to save him!'

The nurse propped Dumbledore up against the bed and gave him the strongest healing potion she could find. Rapidly, Colour started to rise into Dumbledore's face again. Then he jolted upright looking surprised and happy at the same time. Dumbledore said to Lilly and James 'I am very thankful that you manged to save me in time.' 'Also thank you nurse McGonagall for using that potion.'

Dumbledore shook James's hand and asked if James would like to work with Lilly at Hogwarts. Lilly's face lit up with excitement and so did James's. They both asked in unison what subject they will be teaching. Dumbledore said.

'James will be teaching quidditch and Lilly will be teaching potions.'

James and Lilly grinned at each other happy they loved the subjects they would be teaching. But Dumbledore asked a question that wiped the grins straight of their faces.

'Where is your son Harry'.

Lilly and James heads dropped to the floor in all the excitement they forgot that harry had died. Then Dumbledore realised what had happened he strolled over to the grieving couple and offered if they wanted to go to dinner. Their faces rose and they happily left the nursing area and walked to dinner.
