A herd of 15 Popos are seen travelling in Snowy Mountains, with 3 young Popos in the middle of the group and the rest of the adults surrounding them as they make their long journey for more food sources.
They were completely unaware of a predator stalking them from above.
As the herd made a corner, a patch of snow dropped next one to one of the Popos, prompting it to look up. Clinging to the side of the mountain is the Tigrex, the Roaring Wyvern and a Popo's natural predator.
The Tigrex let out an ear-shattering roar as the Popos panicked and began running as the Tigrex lands below. But one unfortunate Popo ran in the opposite direction, making it the the easier prey as the Tigrex began chasing the large herbivore. The Roaring Wyvern soon catches up and bites down on the Popo's neck while holding the struggling prey down until a crunch is heard and the Popo went still.
The Tigrex gave a roar of victory and is about to start eating his lunch when a screech interrupted him meal time. Looking up, he saw a red monster from above descending down and gave another screech, this time one of challenge. It was Rathalos, the King of the Skies and the Fire Wyvern.
A week ago, he and a Rathian had a nest nearby and the babies had hatched today, prompting him to be on the search for food. He had just so happened to come by when the Tigrex had killed the Popo and rather than chase the fleeing herd, he decided to go for the easier option and take the dead Popo.
Tigrex gave a deep growl as he isn't about to let his hard earned meal get taken away. He faces the Fire Wyvern and the two monsters gave challenging roars, signaling their fight to the death.
The Tigrex begins charging at just as Rathalos fired three fireballs consecutively at the running Tigrex. The Tigre ducks and dodges all of them and jumps to take a bite out of the Rathalos' tail, but the Rathalos, having better maneuverability, flies out of the way and sinks his poisonous claws into the Tigrex's shoulders.
Rathalos then begins slamming his opponent repeatedly against the ground as the pinned Tigrex roars in pain as the poison begins to take effect. After the final slam, Rathalos lifts him and tosses him over his back. He begins to charge a fireball to finish the Tigrex off, but the Tigrex's forelimbs and eyes are blood red and he gave a huge ear-shattering roar that was even louder than the first.
Rathalos screeches in pain as he became disorientated from the roar and that gave the Tigrex enough time to lunge and bite down on Rathalos' throat. The Tigrex returns the favor of slamming Rathalos repeatedly against the snowy floor, but Rathalos fights back by clawing at the Tigrex, delivering more poison into its body. But the Tigrex's enraged state overrides its pain and bites down even harder.
The Tigrex then tosses Rathalos into a wall and strikes the ground, sending three rocks at him. But Rathalos manages to recover in time and flies out of the way. Rathalos launches another fireball which the Tigrex avoids and jumps to bite his tail once more. This time he succeeds and Rathalos is yanked down by his tail and is ragdolled by his adversary until with a loud tear, the tail was severed off and he is thrown near a cliffside.
Rathalos groaned as he was heavily weakened by the loss of his tail and getting pummeled. The Tigrex began to waver as while the poison left him, it took a heavy toll on its body to expel it. Deciding it was not worth his time spending more energy, Rathalos begins to retreat. But the Tigrex isn't going to let him off easy. Just as Rathalos is about to take off, the Tigrex pounced on its back and locked its teeth into the neck of
Rathalos screeches as he tries to shake him off, but the Tigrecxwould not release its jaws on his rival proceeds to bite down even harder until eventually, Rathalos' neck snapped and his body went limp in his grasp.
The Tigrex opened his jaws and roars triumphantly, victorious against his opponent. He turns and goes back to eat the dead Popo, hoping it wasn't scavenged by a pack of Blangos or Giapreys.
