Chapter 11: Arendelle's New King
The next day after the showdown at the old church, Kai, Gerda, and the rest of the castle staff were all worried as to why their friends hadn't come back home last night. "No one has seen them last night, Kai. I think something terrible might have happened to them.", Gerda said with concern. "Anna and Elsa have certainly been through a lot and have always returned fit as a fiddle. Try not to worry too much, Gerda. Let's pray they'll be home any moment now.", Kai said. A knock then came at the main entrance door to the castle. "Speak of the devil. I'm sure that's them.", Kai said to Gerda. He opened the door and looked frightened as he saw it was Black Mask and his men on the other side and not the Frozen gang. "What are you doing here? Where are Anna and Elsa?", Kai asked with fear in his voice. "I don't know, but one thing's for sure, they'll never be coming back here again if they know what's good for them.", Black Mask said to Kai. "What are you talking about? What have you done to them?", Gerda asked as she chimed in. "I haven't done anything. They ran away and I don't know where they went. What your queen has done to me is she attacked me last night. Because of her, I can't take this mask off!", he said. "I know, Elsa. She would only attack someone in self-defense.", Gerda said. "That is true and is what happened, but it doesn't change the fact that your beloved royals should be smart enough to not show their faces around if they want to stay alive. That means I have the right to take the throne to this dump.", he said. "But it's not simple. There's paperwork Elsa has to fill out and...", Kai began to say before Black Mask got up in his face and said, "I think you mean to say I am your humble servant, Your Majesty. I welcome you and your men to your new home. If I don't listen to you, you'll kill me.", Kai started sweating anxiously and stammered, "Y...Yes. That's what I meant to s..say.". "Okay. Now get everyone in the kingdom in the courtyard. I'd like them to meet their new king.", Black Mask said. "Yes, sir.", Kai said. "While, you old lady, you show my men to their rooms.", he told Gerda. Due to fear of being killed, Kai, Gerda, and the rest of the castle staff showed Sionis and the False Face Society to their new home while simultaneously announcing for everyone to meet in the castle courtyard. Once all the citizens of Arendelle were present, Kai began to make the necessary announcement. "Attention, citizens of Arendelle. I would like to inform you all that Queen Elsa and Princess Anna are no longer in charge of our kingdom.", Kai said in an upset tone of voice. The citizens all mumbled to one another as they couldn't believe that their beloved royal sisters are somehow being replaced without any good reason or explanation. "I would like to introduce to you, Arendelle's New King. Roman Sionis.", Kai announced as he made way for the new king. Black Mask then stood in front in of all his new subjects and they all seemed to be afraid of him just by how his mask looked. "Good afternoon, my loyal subjects. I must say I am honored to be sworn in as your new leader. I assure you that I will be the best king this dump of a kingdom has ever had. If you know, what's good for you, you'd all give me a round of applause.", Sionis announced and then threatened. Out of fear of being hurt, all the citizens faked a cheerful round of applause while Roman's men gave a more sincere one. "Thank you all. Now, my first act as king will be to increase taxes. This will take effect immediately and at last until I say so.", he said. All the citizens seemed to respect negatively to that idea. "But, sir. Me and my wife couldn't possible afford our house if taxes are to be raised. Queen Elsa and Princess Anna have been very lenient and fair with giving us a decent price we can live with and...", Mr. Olsen (the old man from Olaf's Frozen Adventure) said right before Black Mask walked up to him and hit him across the face. "Honey!", his wife screamed as she bent down to make sure he was okay which he was. "Any more complaints?", Black Mask asked as he looked at everyone else. The other citizens just shook their heads no. "That's what I thought. Now as for the former queen, you should all know that it's because of her that this is the face you'll have to look at every time you see me. She made me officially lose face by freezing my mask to my head. Thanks to Elsa, your new king will have Death's face looking at you.", he said. He and his men began to make their way inside the castle before turning around again to tell everyone to go home. "That's it. You can all go home now. But my men will be patrolling the kingdom to keep watch of the queen and her friends. So, expect to see much of them when your looking out your windows.", Sionis said. All the citizens left to go back to their homes. "You sure those guys will wind up coming back?", one thug asked. "I hope so. I want all o them dead after the shit they pulled last night. But we'll deal with that another time. Now, let's enjoy our new lives in our castle.", Black Mask said as he and his men went back inside the castle.
