CHAPTER ELEVEN

CHRISTIAN

Today couldn't come soon enough. Anastasia walks across the stage graduating today. She's been working so hard to finish up these last five weeks and I couldn't be prouder. I have the biggest surprise tonight after I take her to her favorite restaurant.

I feel like the most of these parents here and the excitement has my knees bouncing waiting for the ceremony to start. Anastasia finished top in her class with a 4.0 GPA Bachelor of Science in Childhood Education with a minor in History. Over the last six weeks I truly saw how dedicated to her studies and that she's going to be the perfect teacher. She's patient and kind and really cares about the kids. I can easily see her being the best mother to our full house of babies.

Last weekend she took her certification that the state requires for a person to take to being a teacher and I know she aced it. When she wasn't studying for her finals she had her head in the books to pass that exam. I'm glad she's already done and finished because I've got a jam-packed summer for her. Most if it involves her naked but the rest is living the dream after my little surprise.

The ceremony gets under way with some asshole speaker who talks about saving the earth. He's a rich prick who probably hasn't ever had to deal with missing a meal or wearing clothes that came from a second-hand store. After his soapbox of helping third world countries they finally start the procession of calling names to collect their diplomas and walk the stage. The announcer finally gets to the letter S and my heart starts to pick up with excitement.

I only finished high school because Ma would've tanned my hide if I didn't graduate. If I had it my way I'd dropped out freshman or sophomore year to start working for Pop fulltime. Ma went all out with the celebration, inviting everyone she ever met to the party. Pop stayed for most of it but snuck off when Ma was occupied to do business.

"Anastasia Steele." The announcer calls out and I'm up on my feet just like every other person clapping and yelling in excitement. She must not have been expecting it because when her head turns to the cheers from me, she stumble across the stage. Thankfully, one of the staff members reaches out and grabs her by the elbow. Anastasia barely catches her hat before reaching the Dean with a handshake and picture. Her smile is bright as her future and the pink on her cheeks show her embarrassment from her falter. Once off the stage she returns with the other students and takes her place in her designated seat until every student's name has been called.

When the ceremony is over finding her is like finding a needle in a haystack. All the students are dressed in their cap and gown flooding outside the packed auditorium.

"Anastasia!" I yell when I finally see her looking around at how to merge into the sea of people.

She hears me and we manage our way through the crowd.

"Congrats, baby." I exclaim, handing her pink roses.

"Thank you." She gives a toothy smile then holds them up to her nose. "Did you see me almost fall off the stage, I was so embarrassed." She palms her face with her free hand.

"You did great." I skim over the elephant in the room. "Did you want to hang out here for a bit or head over to the restaurant?" I check my watch and see that we've got time before our reservations.

She looks around at the people around us with their families and I see her eyes sadden. I know today was a big day to share with family as was her high school graduation but at least I'm here with her. She tucks a lock of hair behind her ear and it reveals the large diamond studded earrings I gave her this morning before she left to come here. Anastasia knocked me over surprised that I'd give her a gift like this. Everything I give her is met with gratitude and glee. She makes giving her things easy and she really does appreciate even the smallest gestures, like her favorite Oreo cookie shake from the Shake Boutique down the street.

If she only knew what was instore for her in the next few days.

Wanting to turn those sad eyes around I decide to give her another present that I was waiting to give her over our meal. But first I need to make this the best experience for her. Something that she will remember for the rest of her life.

"Excuse me," I grab a man walking by. "Do you mind taking our picture?"

"Of course." He replies taking my phone.

We take several pictures and the guy even encouraged us to take one kissing. Anastasia seems to brighten up and those sad eyes are a thing of the past.

"Anastasia Steele you came into my life when I least expected it. I wasn't looking for love at the time but the moment it happened there wasn't a single thing I could do but follow my heart. You have changed me in ways I never thought were possible for me. My life was dull until you came unexpectedly stumbling into it." Her eyes are feeling with tears, but I push through. "I know that this might seem sudden to you but for me it feels like I've waited years to have this moment right here. I love you more than you'll ever know, and the depths of that love has no measure of what I could ever describe in words. When I think about forever, I picture you in it."

I take a knee in front of her and everyone around us. A crowd has formed and the moment I dropped down gasps could be heard but my focus was on the only person in this world that matters.

"Will you do me the honor of spending the rest of your life with me? Will you please make me the happiest man on this earth and marry me?"

Her hand now covers her mouth and her eyes have widen like large saucers. Tears are spilling down her cheeks and I can only hope she doesn't pass out before I get an answer.

We've spent every waking hour together. She's stayed with me every night since we got back from Spring Break except for one night. It was the worst night of my life. We'd had our first fight and she decided to stay at her dorm. I say 'fight' but really it was me being an asshole. I'd had one hell of a day at one of the game rooms and for some reason I snapped at her when she tripped on the living room rug. It was the stupidest thing in the entire world, I know, but at the time my mind was dealing with ten different situations that all involved a pencil pushing new cop who wanted to make a name for himself. He tried to strongarm me and businesses. The day was complete shit and all I wanted was to come home and hold Anastasia but instead I took my frustrations out on her.

My Pop always left business at the door when he came home from work. He never involved my Ma and made sure that no matter how stressed he was that Ma never knew he was having a bad day. Even though Pop lives a stressful life sometimes he always said that coming home to Grace was the best part of his day. He told me once that when I finally found my wife that I needed to treat her like she was the most precious flower I'd ever find in this world. A flower that if I didn't take care of and water that someone else would come in and preserve if I didn't treat it right. Pop was all business but when my Ma called he dropped everything to answer and find out what she needed or if she was okay.

The night of our, well my, fight I sat in my car outside of her dorm. She had apologized to me. To me. For stumbling then excused herself out of the room. I wanted to beat the shit out of myself when she walk out of the living room and headed up toward our bedroom. I was making a plan on how to make it up to her when she came in a few minutes later with a small overnight bag and her backpack. Anastasia made up some poor lie about needing to go to the library for a book to help with an assignment, but I knew I'd just fucked up royally. She couldn't even look me in the eye. I tried to stop her, to apologize for my behavior but she had shut down on me. The best thing was to let her go so that I could devise a plan to make this up to her.

The car was uncomfortable but sleeping in an empty bed without her would've been worse. I deserved the aching neck and back pain from the seat of the car. It was my punishment for not treasuring her and treating her poorly. She was my queen, my everything and if my Pop were here he'd smack me across the back of the head for how I acted. Thankfully, I was able to make it right. I caught her the next morning coming out of her dorm heading to class with her favorite donuts and coffee. I'd explained how the city was trying to cite me for several violations at my building at the insurance business, a lie I know, and that yesterday had nothing to do with her. I loved her and was sorry for ever snapping at her. She was a little skittish at first, but I made sure to meet her for lunch then spent the rest of the day making it up to her. I'd learned a valuable lesson after that and knew that if I didn't separate my business from my home life then it would have a devastating outcome.

"That was so beautiful." She shakily states holding her palms to her cheeks.

"Will you?" I ask one more time hoping she's about to say the one word that will change my life forever. I reach into my pocket and snap open the ring box that shows off her Harry Winston 5.02 carat oval-cut diamond ring with 36 pear-shaped and round diamonds that make up bows on either side of the ring. The ring is one of a kind and has the rarest diamonds. I've had this prized possession for almost a year when I moved down here from Seattle. Of course she doesn't need to know that.

She nods her head rapidly. "Yes, yes Christian. I'll marry you!" She beams then throws her arms around my neck. There are cheers in the background but all I can focus on is her. She said yes.

I waste no time sweeping her up and spinning her around.

"I love you." I say over and over as I pull her into my chest, kissing every inch of her not caring we're in public.

"I love you too." She finally takes a look at the ring and almost passes out. "Oh my gosh, Christian, this is the most beautiful ring I've ever seen!"

"Only the best for you." I say as I place the ring on her left ring finger.

She looks in awe of it for a while.

"Oh god, what if I lose it?" Her panic voice has me laughing.

"Then I'll buy you a new one." It's as easy as that. I'll buy her the moon if she really wanted it.

"It's so lovely, thank you." Her mouth captures mine and I feel like I'm flying. Thank god Carson is here in the crowd with a camera to film the event. Little does she know that the man holding my phone was hired to take pictures to document our day.

Once we've both had a chance to come back to reality we gather ourselves and head out to her favorite steakhouse I introduced to her after we got back from Spring Break, Flemings. Traffic is a nightmare with all the extra people here for graduation, but I can't complain because I've got my fiancé sitting next to me in my Chevy SS holding her hand that seals us together. She is everything I've ever wanted and seeing how happy she was to agree to marry only solidify that she was meant to be mine. She hasn't stopped smiling and I find myself doing the same. This is what true happiness feels like and I can't wait to see what the future is going to bring.

Parking is horrible by the restaurant, but we get lucky and find two spots pulling out at the same time. Once both cars have exited the small lot I carefully pull my prized car in one of the empty spots mindful not to get too close for someone to ding the sides. Normally, I'd valet but there isn't one around here tonight.

Just as I turn off the engine some lame-ass loser comes barreling in the parking lot and carelessly pulls into the empty spot next to us. Anastasia leans over to the window and looks down.

"He's on the line." She whispers thinking the douche can hear her. She knows how much I love this car and only bring it out on special occasions.

I can feel my blood pressure starting to rise because I can see some kid in the car talking a little too loud on the phone not paying attention.

Just breath. Maybe he'll surprise me and not be careless about opening his door.

"Should I crawl over the console to get out?" Anastasia asks as I mean-mug the fucker hoping for the best.

I shake my head. No way am I going to make her climb over in her short dress. She's in a sapphire blue heavily beaded, high neck, short sleeve crystal keyhole cocktail dress I bought her. I wanted something that matched her eyes and it hit the mark. She's in silver matching crystal heels and looks like she should be a model. My model.

"Stay put, baby. I got this." I give her a wink to reassure her.

Just as my door opens to step out I hear a bang. Not the sound of a gun firing but the sound of a car door smacking into another door. It was enough for the Chevy to jolt a little and I find my fingers pulling into fists. As I round the back of my car a real-life Ken doll stands at the back of his car straightening a sweater his shoulders. He looks ridiculous in boat shoes and short khaki shorts. Another dipshit steps out of the passenger door and looks the same.

Blowing out a breath I try really hard not to lose my cool in front of Anastasia. We just had the most amazing experience and this pissant is not going to ruin our bubble.

"You parked a little close, don't you think?" I clinch my teeth wanting to see how this dickhead is going to respond. He looks at me as if I should be the one who takes care of his dry cleaning. "You hit my car with your door." I clarify.

He looks me up and down as if I'm beneath him. If he only knew. Then looks at my car. I can tell that daddy probably funds everything in his miserable little life.

He leans over and pats me on my shoulder, "Don't worry mine's more expensive than that antique." He laughs as he and his friend walk past me towards the restaurant.

Big mistake asshole.

I watch the prick prance off and take a step in his direction but the sound of a car door opening stops me.

"Is everything okay?" I hear Anastasia ask but refrains from getting out. Closing my eyes and taking another deep breath I loosen my muscles and make my way over to her.

"Everything is fine, baby." I say as I hold the door open and give her my hand so she can gracefully exit the car without popping the shitheads door.

We make our way into Flemings and tell the hostess our name. My mind keeps reeling back to the loser. I've never been one to let something go and even now I've having a hard time letting the asshole get away with disregarding me and what is mine.

The hostess starts to walk us back to the private table I reserved but I halt when I see the two assholes laughing at a table with other idiots dressed the same as them.

I just can't let this slide.

"Baby," I place a gentle hand on Anastasia's arm stopping her and the hostess. "I forgot my phone in the car. Go ahead to the table and I'll be there shortly, order me water with lemon." I kiss her cheek like I always do. One thing I've learned when I'm in public is to show these other fuckers that she is mine. Short of pissing on her I stake my claim. My size alone should make them think twice but I like to get my point across that she is taken.

She nods not even skipping a beat and follows the hostess to the back of the restaurant. I love that she is naïve without a care in the world. I know I'm going to have to teach her to be more careful but for now she still needs to feel like the world is a safe place.

Turning on my heels I glance back over at the table of tools and can't help the smirk that forms on my face. I'd never cause a seen with Anastasia here, but I can do other things that will be just has harmful to get my point across. Once I'm out in the parking lot I check the damage the prick did to the door. The paint is scraped off where his door hit it and there is definitely a dent. Asshat. One thing I love is making sure my cars are taken care of. Especially this collector. I take pride in making sure my hard-earned dollars don't go to waste and I appreciate the things I spend my money on.

Checking out the piece of shit car next to me I notice it's an Audi R8. Not caring if someone sees I haul my foot back and kick the side of the driver door. Like I knew, it caved easily. The sun is setting, and the lighting out here isn't the best which means he won't really notice it until tomorrow. Sucker. Maybe next time he'll be a little bit more careful where he parks. As I start to walk back in I round the back of his car still pondering him putting his hands on my shoulder and decide to even out the massive dent. With a swift kick the passenger door crinkles and caves in the same as the other door.

The smirk earlier can't hold a candle to the smile on my face as I walk back into the restaurant and look over at the asshat's table. His eyes meet mine just in passing and I give him a nod and keep walking. He's lucky that's all he's getting out of this.

As I reach the table I notice a guy hanging out next to Anastasia talking to her and catch the tail end of the conversation.

"…what are your plans now that you've graduated? A last hoorah summer sewing your wild oats before entering into the real world?"

Anastasia is looking over the menu and occasionally looking up at him not showing any interest at all. Can't he see the rock on her hand? Everyone can see it sparkle from the lighting in here.

She must sense me because she looks up and her eyes flash with excitement when she see me approaching, completely ignoring this guy.

"Leave." I calmly say but there is an undertone to my voice as I take a seat next to her instead of across. My nose nuzzles her neck and I plant a soft caressing kiss there. "Can't leave you alone five minutes without someone trying to take you from me."

She giggles and scrunches her nose like it's the most ludicrous thing ever said.

"Did you find your phone?" She ignores my comment and plants a quick kiss to my lips.

I pat my jacket pocket where it's been the entire time then wrap my right arm around her shoulder, pulling her close to my side.

We eat our meal with me feeding her some of mine and her telling me how she ran into Jill before the ceremony began so they didn't get to talk exceedingly long. I'm surprised the bitch had enough braincells to graduate college, but I digress.

"How was she?" I ask not really caring.

"Fine I guess. She asked if I was stilling seeing you and when I told her that I was, she got all weird and cut the conversation short."

"That's strange."

"I know, right?"

Wanting to move pass that inconsiderate wench I change the subject.

"Have you thought about where you'd like to teach now that you've graduated?"

She turns her body towards mine and I almost place her legs over mine, but I'd hate for some joker to get a look up her dress. Her smile is so bright when she talks about her teaching career.

"Well, Professor Smith sent me several schools to apply for, but I haven't had the time to look them over."

"You could always stay home, if you wanted too. I make more than enough to support us." I add wanting to give her options. I'd love nothing more than knowing I provided for her, but I know that this is one battle I'll never win. She has so much to offer kids and I'd be putting her in a cage if she didn't teach for a living.

"Christian, we've talked about this. I want, no I need to help kids." She takes my hand and it's like all the tension leaves my body when she touches me. "At least until we start our own family, I've love to focus on my career. You understand, right?"

I do.

"So once I plant my child in you, you'll quit." I state. I can't help the thump in my chest when I think of her carrying my child.

"I'd like to be a fulltime mom, maybe even homeschool when they're older depending on how many we have. My mom stayed home with me and I loved having her there at all my recitals and school field trips."

She just opened pandora's box because I plan on having her pregnant until we're fifty if she'd let me.

"I'm ready to start tonight." I joke but in reality I've been trying to impregnant her since I broke her hymen almost two months ago.

She laughs but I'm only half kidding.

"I'd like to wait for at least one to two years after we're married, silly." She tosses her napkin at me. "Don't you want to enjoy the honeymoon stage of marriage before kids are in the mix?"

"Baby, I'd love for you to be pregnant right now with my kid." I place my large hand over her stomach.

Her eyes go to where my hand is, and I see them soften. I know without a doubt I could convince her to have babies sooner, but I'd never want her to regret having them too soon. She deserves to have everything in this world and if I have to wait, then that's what I'll have to do.

"We haven't even talked about a wedding date! That would be crazy and the Sisters at my old school would reprimand me good if I had a baby out of wedlock." She admonishes. I'd like to see them try and reprimand her. They'd be meeting their makers a lot sooner if it happened.

"Let's talk about the date another day. Tonight, let's enjoy our engagement and the surprises I have instore for you."

I hold up my glass and she follows suit.

"To Anastasia on the amazing accomplishment. And to our future, may we always focus on it and never look back."

We clink our crystal glasses and drink to us.

On the drive out of the restaurant we head in the opposite direction of our house. It takes her a while but once we pull up to the private entrance of the airport she starts to question.

"What are we doing here? Did you need to pick a client up?"

We pull through and I park inside a bay that stores a jetliner.

"This is the next part of your gift and engagement." I say and help her out of the car.

"But I don't have any clothes. Surely I needed to pack an overnight bag or something."

"It's all been taken care of. Here," I help her up the steps and into the luxury jet. It has a bedroom in the back along with a comfortable sofa and six leather chairs to relax in.

"This is crazy. Where are we going?"

"I'll tell you where but I'm not telling you anymore than that. All events are sealed tight." I make a zipping motion over my lips that earns me a giggle.

"Yes, okay! Tell me, please!"

"Hawaii."

A/N: Thank you for reading and I hope you like my story! They are engaged! Christian has a few more surprises up his sleeve coming up next! The part where Christian's car gets dented and scratched happened in real life. My dad had taken my mom out for a fancy dinner and some entitled guy hit their car door. My dad collects classic cars and makes sure to take care of them. The following events are the result of my dad trying to keep his cool in front of my mom. LOL! See you ladies next Thursday!
