A/N:
Dr. KRC PhD: Crap, I didn't see that! Good looking out! Fixed it, and I'm sorry for not crediting you on that scene. That's fixed too!
starwing1995: To answer your first review, Desast was unique. I liked him. RIP. Anyway, it may be something I'll consider down the line. This story kind of evolves day by day for me. As for your second review/question, that kind of thing is mostly reserved for movies and specials. At some point we'll get a Rider Xrossover with another Legend Rider, but not in the main story.
OMAC001: Time will tell, won't it?
The following week came, and it was not good. Over the weekend there were reports of young witches and demonesses getting attacked at night. The victims were found with puncture wounds on their necks, and a significant amount of blood drained from them. Luckily the victims did survive, but they were currently in a Healing Coven hospital ward in a comatose state.
"Well, good thing you don't go anywhere at night," said Eda as she finished up with a customer. "Still, we'll close up a little early and head home before nightfall."
"Sounds good," said Luz. "Do you think it's a Phantom like the last two?"
"Hard to say, there's no shortage of creatures on this island that'll suck your blood, but this looks like a vampire."
Luz looked up at her mentor with fascination. "You mean a real-life vampire?! I didn't know you still had them here?!"
"Eh, not for hundreds of years. Like the giraffes, we ran those things out of here, or I should say that they willingly left the isles," Eda explained.
Luz's eyebrow rose. "What do mean, 'willingly'?"
Eda fiddled with some magician's rings, the kind that were used as party tricks, trying to get them to fit back together. "Well, most of those vampires didn't like demon or witch blood that much. Thanks to our magic bile sacks, it kind of messed with how our blood tastes to them."
Luz cringed a bit when she recalled Eda showing her a diagram of a sack that was attached to every witch's heart, the very thing that allowed the inhabitants to cast spells. "So, it actually changes how your blood tastes to them?"
"Oh yeah, but eventually they grew to make do with it and attacked witches, never touched demons though, their blood was way more different from ours. Anyway, about the time the people were getting ready to run them out, the vampires found another place to inhabit, a place that had blood that was much tastier and sweeter to them," said Eda.
"My world?"
"Bingo."
Luz wasn't that surprised to hear that, yet another Boiling Isles creature was driven into their world, but from what Eda said, it sounded like the vampires were glad to be in their world. "So, it's rare for a vampire to be around?"
"Very, but like I said, it's strange that this one's alsoattack demons."
"Eh, they're easy enough to kill off, take off the head or pierce 'em through the heart!" King illustrated this explanation by taking a random stuffed animal, finding a letter opener, and stabbing the plush toy's chest. "Easy peasy." King then tossed the doll onto the table of junk.
A customer came by and saw the carnage of the doll and asked, "How much for the voodoo doll?"
Luz looked at the little doll and started saying, "It's actually just –s"
"Ten snails! And if you throw in an extra ten, I'll let you keep the knife in its chest," Eda interjected.
"Deal!" said the demon as he forked over twenty snails in total. "Now Fred will bow to my power!"
Eda counted up the snail coins and then casually added, "All sales are final! Good luck, buddy!"
Luz normally would be a little put off by how someone was just scammed out of their money, but since this was Eda, and given what that demon probably wanted to do with the doll, it kind of balanced itself out. "Maybe we should look into it! I've always wanted to go vampire hunting! Or, you know, having a romantic encounter with one," Luz admitted with a dreamy eyed blush.
Eda raised an eyebrow when she heard that last part, and then made a disgusted expression. "Ugh, oh, so gross! Luz, why would you ever want to suck face with those things?"
"I've…kinda, sorta, maybe have had a little dark fantasy where I get whisked away by a charming guy vampire, or beautiful lady vampire, and just, and made into their servant for a while before we get to know each other and steadily fall in love to the point that they can't go on through eternity without me and so they turn me and…" Luz trailed off when she saw Eda and King give a weird look. "Don't judge me!"
"I take it you don't know what they look like?" King asked.
Luz reached into her pocket and pulled out an anime style drawing of a vampire boy.
Eda and King facepalmed themselves.
Eda began drawing a spell circle and created an image of the vampires she was talking about. What Luz saw was nothing like the dreamy, sparkling, or brooding creatures of the night that works of fiction and anime made them out to be. These things were ugly as sin. Leathery skin from head to toe, their hands had long fingers with sharp claws at the ends of them. Under their arms was a membrane fold that made it look as if they could glide instead of fly. The vampire had a fairly large head, with big pointy ears, it had no eyes, but it did have a large mouth with rows of sharp teeth, and long canine teeth that were the signature look of a vampire.
The vampire had a hunched posture, with two talons on the front of its feet, and a third that was on its heel. Luz now understood why Eda and King were put off by Luz's fantasy, these things were ugly. "Oooookay, my fantasy is officially shattered. How the heck could the humans of my world get it so wrong."
Eda dismissed the image and said, "It's not their fault, those things can create something close to an illusion by using their magic and sonar to distort their prey's brain and make them see what they want them to see."
"Diabolical, and they only targeted women?"
"Actually, they didn't have a preference. They were predators, they attacked whatever prey they could find, it is weird that this thing is only attacking girls," said King.
Which means it might be a Phantom, time for a little late-night investigation, thought Luz.
While Luz was contemplating her next move, she spotted a head of green hair. "Amity? Hey, Eda, I'm going to go say hi to a friend. Mind if I go?"
Eda had a reluctant look on her face, after everything that has happened recently, she had started to become a protective bird mom, but she knew that Luz couldn't get in that much trouble just going around the corner. "Sure, go ahead, kid."
Luz left the stand and headed to where she spotted Amity. When she rounded the corner, Luz's eyebrow rose, she could've sworn she saw her. That's when she saw some green air from another corner. Luz ran to that spot and skidded until she came an alley. "Heeeeeeeey Amity! Eep!…You're not Amity."
Standing in front of Luz was not Amity, but was in fact her older sister, Emira Blight. The second was someone she recognized from school, with her brown hair tied back into a knot, and a fishhook earing, a fellow multi track learner, Viney. Now the "Eep!" she let out wasn't because she saw two of her classmates, no, the real reason was because of how she found them. Viney had one hand on Emira's left hip, while another was on Emira's back. Emira had one hand on Viney's shoulder, and another against the wall. Both girls were blushing hard at being found in such a compromising position.
Luz sucked in air as her eyes began to sparkle with happiness. "You're–!"
Emira quickly drew a spell circle, wrapping up Luz in a magical aura and swiftly pulled her into the alley with them. The elder Blight sibling slapped her hand over Luz's mouth, preventing the squeal or blurting of what she saw. Viney hurriedly went to check if anyone saw, the Beast-Healer witch gave the thumbs up to Emira. She gave a sigh of relief before removing her hand from Luz's mouth.
"Sorry, Luz, but we're kind of keeping this secret," said Emira.
Luz looked back at Viney, and the witch nodded back to her. "Really, but you guys are so cute together!" she gushed.
Viney's face was red as she walked back towards them and stood next to Emira. "There are reasons for that…Luz. I won't go into them right now." Viney glanced at Emira, the Blight girl wrapped her hand around Viney's waist as a sad smile appeared on her face. "But it'd mean a lot to us if you keep this secret, Luz."
The Latina made a gesture of pulling a zipper closed over her mouth. "My lips are sealed; I won't tell anyone about this. But does Edric and Amity know?!"
"Mittens knows, and Ed's my twin brother, so, yeah, he knows," said Emira.
"I haven't told Jerbo or Barkus, but some day, maybe," said Viney.
Luz was practically jumping up and down, she secretly shipped these two, but she never thought that they'd actually be a couple. ViRa is official!
After talking with her two friends about their relationship, Luz went back to Eda and King to help close shop. The sun dipped over the horizon, casting a shadow over the skull of the Titan before finally disappearing. Now at the Owl House, Eda began counting up the money she made from the market while King played with his stuffed rabbit.
Luz waited a while, so she looked over her text books from Hexside to pass as much time as she could. Eventually yawned and said she was going to turn in early. Eda didn't question it and instead bid Luz a goodnight. Once back in her room, Luz waited just a bit longer to make sure that Eda wasn't going to come in. Once she felt comfortable that that wasn't going to occur, Luz took out the Connect Ring.
[Connect, Please.]
A portal opened in her room, Luz hopped into it and disappeared, returning to Bones Borough proper and landing on top of a roof. The Night Market had set up shop, with all manner of witches and demons walking about. This was the first that she had seen the Night Market, and it was much different than how the market was when they were here in the light of day. From what Luz remembered from the newspapers, the attacks happened from around mid to late night.
"So, all I have to do is wait!" Luz proclaimed.
30 MINUTES LATER
"Half an hour, no weirdness." As she said that, someone was buying a painting, only for said painting to produce a horrifying monster that dragged the customer into it. "Nope, nothing out of the ordinary."
1 HOUR LATER
Luz was perched on the edge of a rooftop, gazing down, and keeping a vigilant watch with her hawk-like gaze. "I am the night. I am, Luz Noceda!" Luz waited for a lightning to flash, but nothing happened. She then shifted her eyes about and took a selfie of herself in her heroic pose.
2 HOURS LATER
Luz was lying on her back, staring up at the night sky. Three whole hours had passed by and many things happened. A mugging that ended up with the mugger getting beaten, then mugged by the guy he mugged. A naga looking demon slithering about and asking for chickens. And then there was that one large head that kept asking people to get into its mouth. Creepy. And yet, there was still nothing Phantom related going on.
"Maybe it's not going to show up tonight? Good thing there's no school tomorrow," said Luz as she prepared to portal back to the Owl House.
Suddenly, Luz caught movement down below. Luz had an idea, so instead of using the Connect Ring, she took up the ring with the image of eyes on it. After slipping it on, Luz placed it over the Hand Author Buckle.
[Sight, Please.]
Luz's eyes took on a yellow hue as the darkness of the night was stripped away as if the sun was shining. "Whoa! Super night vision!" Luz concentrated and looked for movement, that's when she saw someone moving around in a cloak, two people to be precise. The Latina tried to see their faces, but they were too far away. No sooner had she thought this did her vision suddenly zoom in on the two figures, it was so quick that Luz fell on her rear from the quickness of her vision focusing. "Okay, so night vision, and binocular vision!"
After readjusting herself to her enhanced vision, Luz refocused on the two carefully moving figures. The shadows of their hoods were lit up thanks to her magic, so she could easily tell who they were. To her surprise, it was Emira and Viney. Luz didn't understand why they were out so late at night, but she wasn't about to take any chances. Luz took out the Ride Ring and activated it.
[Ride, Please.]
A magic circle appeared next to Luz, and from it materialized her Witch Speeder, the magic circle emblem on the front was grayed out. Luz mounted her hover bike, letting herself feel giddy at the fact that she had a hover a bike, and then flew into the air. She watched over Viney and Emira as they walked about, hand in hand, very couple-like.
That's when she noticed something moving around, something was off, in spite of the fact that every dark place was lit up in her eyes, this thing was appearing as a shadowy figure. Whatever it was, this figure was stalking them.
"Oh, heck no! You are not ruining my ship!" Luz exclaimed as she put on her Light Style Ring.
[Shabadoobi, touch to henshin! Shabadoobi, touch to henshin!]
"Henshin!"
[Light, Please.]
[Hi~Ka~Ri!]
Luz's magic circle appeared in front of the Speeder, passing over her and the vehicle at the same time, and transforming her into Kamen Rider Witch. The magic circle insignia on the Witch Speeder suddenly turned the same color as the yellow of her gemstone. Witch jumped off her Speeder, did a flip in the air, and landed right behind the couple in the classic "superhero landing". The action startled both Viney and Emira, making them turn around in shock.
"Who?!"
"What?!"
"Show yourself, I know you're there!" Witch ordered.
"Huh, I didn't think anyone could see me, but I guess that I was wrong."
From the perspective of Viney and Emira, while their eyes had adjusted to the dark, they couldn't see what Witch saw. All they could see was her talking to the dark, at least until they heard that voice. What happened next made them gasp, the shadows in front of Witch suddenly pulled back, revealing a person. This creature stood at least seven feet tall, slender, but in a lean-muscular kind of way.
The Phantom wore black and silver armor, its hair was long and black, it's skin a flawless porcelain white, with a chiseled jawline, and pointed ears. Its eyes were a deep, blood red color, with irises that were gold in color. The armor had images of bats, thorny vines, and roses. Its cape was long and was made of pure shadows.
Wow, this is the first Phantom I've seen that's not horrifying to look at. Or maybe it is a vampire and Eda was messing with me?
"Witch, is it? I ask that you don't interfere, I'm only here for these two, and then I'll be on my merry," said the Phantom.
"Uh, yeah, no. I'm not going to just let you hurt them!"
"Wait what?!" Emira exclaimed.
Witch turned her head and said, "Yeah, you two need to run, like now!"
Viney and Emira started to run away, but the Phantom swiftly dashed towards them. Witch intercepted him with a palm strike to his chest, but the Phantom dodged the attack, and from the shadows of his cape, pulled out a sword in the shape of a bat's wing. With one swift swing, the Phantom slashed Witch across the chest, causing sparks to fly from her armor. Witch fell onto her back, but quickly rolled backwards and shot back to her feet.
"Okay, so that's how you want to play it?"
[Connect, Please.]
Witch pulled out the WizarSwordGun, switching it sword mode as she took a ready stance. The Phantom rushed towards Witch again, but this time the hero met its attack with her own, clashing their blades against one another. The area around them lit up from the sparks that released from the striking of their blades, but the Phantom wasn't about to let himself be outdone by Witch. The Kamen Rider readied to slash him, but the moment she made contact, his body broke apart into dozens of screeching, shadow construct bats.
"Oh, come on!" Witch exclaimed.
The bats weaved around Witch and began chasing after the girls. Witch's Light Style ring glowed as she pointed her left hand into the air. The Witch Speeder came zooming down, Witch jumped up and landed on the Speeder, riding it like a surfboard as she chased after the bats. She couldn't risk using the Speeder's blasters, the size of the magic bolts and their explosive force would hurt Viney and Emira from the splash damage alone.
Witch switched the WizarSwordGun into gun mode, taking careful aim, Witch pulled the trigger. Several light infused silver bullets flew from the weapon, weaving through the air like homing missiles towards their target. The first few shots hit the bats, causing the Phantom to take notice. Reluctantly, it stopped its pursuit and began taking evasive maneuvers, making random turns, and slipping down alleyways. Witch had to think fast to keep up with the monster, she had just found the Phantom, she didn't want to lose it.
"Okay, this is annoying!"
[Bind, Please.]
Witch concentrated on the area ahead of the Phantom, she focused her mind and created a construct light net. She laced the net as tight as she could, within seconds Witch created a light construct fish net which expanded and caught all the bats in one fell swoop. Luz chuckled as she opened the Hand Author on the WizarSwordGun and placed her left hand over it.
} LIGHT, SHOOTING STRIKE {
Particles of yellow light gathered to the muzzle of Witch's weapon, taking careful aim, Witch fired a cannonball sized orb of pure light energy that flew towards the light net. The energy of the net, and the ball melded together, and in the next moment, exploded with a shower of yellow sparkles, like fireworks. Witch brought the Speeder to a halt in the air, keeping her weapon trained on the spot where she destroyed the Phantom, however, when the dust cleared, there was no sign of the bats. Witch lowered the weapon, there was something strangely anticlimactic about that.
"That was too easy…"
"AAAAAHHH!"
A scream tore Witch's attention, her helmet pinpointed the sound to the town below. Witch dropped from her standing position and sat down on the Speeder, revving up the engine as she took off towards the scream. With great speed, she managed to find the spot, coming to a quick halt as she spotted, Emira on her rear, and Viney, in the clutches of the Phantom. His fangs already piercing through Viney's neck as droplets of crimson liquid trickled from the spot where the Phantom's mouth was.
"VINEY!" Witch cried out.
The Phantom heard Witch's cry and finished his meal before releasing Viney onto the ground. "Seems you made quick work of the bats; I would've thought that'd keep you occupied for far longer." He then turned to look at Emira, his eyes starting to glow. "And I never got the chance to taste your blood, my beautiful little witch."
Witch shot several rounds at the Phantom while he was distracted, the silver bullets hit their marks each time, throwing the vampiric Phantom onto his back and away from Viney and Emira. The latter rushed to the former's side, holding her in her arms as she checked to see if she was alright. The Phantom rose back up and looked as if he was preparing to go after them again.
[Defend, Please.]
A barrier of light appeared over Viney and Emira, making the vampire growl in anger as he was once again prevented from attaining his prey. Witch dashed towards him, ready to slash at the vampire, but at the last second, the evil monster jumped onto the rooftop. Looking down upon Witch and his victims, the handsome creature laughed superiorly.
"Know my name, Witch, it is Dracula. And the night is mine to stalk!"
After proclaiming his name, Dracula disappeared into the shadows. Witch growled in frustration and anger, but right now there were more important things to take care of. Witch dismissed her weapon and hurried towards her friends. After releasing the barrier, Witch got down on one knee and asked, "How is she?!"
"B-Breathing, but she's pale from the blood loss! We need to get her to the Healers!" Emira stated.
"I can do that," said Witch.
[Connect, Please.]
Recalling the last time she was at the Healers Coven, Witch managed to create a portal. Witch picked up Viney and led Emira into the portal, which deposited them right into the lobby, startling everyone in there. "This girl needs help! She was attacked by a monster!"
The Healer witches didn't seem to care too much about how she got there, or why Witch was holding her. They just keyed on the fact that she brought an injured person into their facility and went to work. Several nurses went came to them, wheeling in a gurney and readying some basic spells that would keep Viney stable until they could bring her to a room with more equipment. Emira had her hands clasped around her mouth, trying to stifle her tears from falling. But Witch placed a hand on her shoulder, and despite not being able to see her face, Emira couldn't help but feel that Witch was sincere in her worry for Viney.
"Thank you…this is the third time you've saved me, isn't it?" Emira.
Witch gave a light chuckle and said, "Yeah, but who's counting?" Although Witch wanted to stay with Emira and see if Viney was going to be okay, she knew that the Emperor's Coven was going to come for her, and she wasn't about to let them drag her in for a long interview or think that she's the one who did this. Seen enough anime and movies to know that in these situations, the one with the mask is the first one to get arrested. "I have to go, Emira Blight. I don't think he'll be back, but even so, be careful."
"I will, thank you," said Emira.
[Connect, Please.]
Witch's magic circle appeared, once again startling everyone. After bidding farewell to Emira, Witch passed through the portal and left the witch girl with the Healers.
Witch portaled into her room, just as she dismissed her transformation. Luz plopped onto her sleeping bag and sighed heavily, she couldn't protect Viney against Dracula, but she did manage to keep Emira from getting hurt, so it was a bittersweet night.
"Dracula…like the king of the vampires? Hope it's not the real Dracula, but if what Eda showed me was correct, then it definitely is a Phantom, but what's his deal? Was Viney a Gate? Were those other girls Gates as well?" Luz pondered aloud.
"I think the real question is, what the heck were you doing?"
"Oh, I was just out patrolling and ran intoooooooOOOOOOH MY GOSH!" Luz sprang to her feet, eyes wide as saucers as she turned around and looked down. "KING?!"
The little demon was sitting in the corner, his stuffed bunny, Francois, cradled in his left arm. "What the heck, Luz?! I thought you were joking around, but you really are Witch?!"
"SHH!" Luz ran to her door, stuck her head out to make sure that Eda wasn't there, and closed it. She then returned to King and asked, "How long have you known?!"
"That night you had Willow over, I maaaaaaay've overheard you two talking on my way downstairs, and I maaaaaay've heard you say something about how you became Witch," said King.
Luz's pupils shrank to pinpricks, she thought she was being so careful, she should've checked the door before divulging something so big to her friend. "D-Does Eda know…?"
"No, she doesn't, not yet anyway," said King.
Luz blinked in surprise. "You didn't tell her yet? Why?" Luz secretly dreaded his reasoning, King was nice most of the time, but he was not above lording something over someone and using it to his advantage in some way.
King petted his toy bunny as he looked down, taking a moment to contemplate his answer. "Well…when Eda told me about what happened to you…I…I got scared Luz."
Luz slowly dropped to her knees as she felt her heart grow heavy.
"I mean, you, me, and Eda, we've always gotten into messed up situations, and we still manage to come out of it without a scratch." King paused for a moment and then revised that statement. "Well, sometimes. I wanted to know what was up, so I kept watch at your door. I saw a flash of light and then you were gone. I waited, and waited, then I could hear strange sounds in the distance. And then you just appeared out of that circle, as Witch! I figured this is something you don't want to tell Eda, right?"
Luz rubbed her left arm as looked King in the eyes. "No, at least, not right now. She's been super protective of me ever since I was kidnapped, and I don't want to worry her any more than she already is. Besides, I'm also afraid she'll try and make me stop."
King nodded. "Well, can't exactly blame her. Those monsters are scarier than any demon in my books! I'll have to create a whole different book just for them! Anyway, you don't have to worry about me telling Eda. I won't."
"Okay…" Luz waited for a moment, but King said nothing.
"Okay."
"And?"
"And what?" King asked.
"Not to insult you, but usually you like to follow something like this up with a favor," Luz explained.
King scratched at his belly and said, "Luz, I can tell that this is important, not just to you, but what you're doing is important to everyone. Whether they know it or not, you're the only one so far who can destroy those things. What kind of demon would I be if I went and exploited this for my own benefit?"
Luz was both happy and relived that King was going to keep her secret. She moved a little closer and scooped up the demon, hugging him close. King sometimes squirmed around when she did this, but right now he didn't feel like it. "Thank you, King."
"Don't thank me yet, you'll have to tell Eda, eventually."
"I know, but hopefully, by then, I'll either be strong enough that no Phantom will be able to stand against me, or I'll have wiped them all out." Luz released King and set him down on the floor, giving him a pat on the head just because.
"So, can you tell me what happened tonight? I know the news is going to say something about it, but I'd rather here it from you," said King as he sat down.
Luz chuckled and began to regale King with her exploits thus far, all the while, in the back of her head, she tried to figure out how she was going to catch Dracula. And what exactly is his goal? However, close to the end of her story, Luz felt the sensation of her magic calling out to her.
"Oh no…tonight? Really?" Luz groaned.
"What's wrong?" King asked.
Luz sighed and said, "King, make sure there's no one at the door, I'm going to be make a new Spell Ring for myself. After you do that, can you go through my bag and take out that box of cookies?"
King nodded, placed Francois on the floor up against the wall, and checked outside. The little demon gave the all clear just as Luz had taken out a bag of clear gemstones. Luz took out a piece of paper and began drawing on it, King got closer and asked, "What are you doing, Luz?"
Luz didn't say anything, her stare was blank as if she was on autopilot.
"Luz? Hey? What's up? Can you hear me?" King asked, growing a little worried at her lack of response.
After a few seconds more of drawing, Luz finally snapped out of her trance and shook her head. "Oh boy, sorry about that. Every time I do this I zone out. I'm alright though." Luz took one of the gemstones and placed at the center of the new circle she created. "Watch this."
King did watch as Luz tapped the circle, activating its magic. "WEH!" the demon uttered as he jumped back. A bright flash of light went off inside the room, and once it was done, the gemstone had changed color to a topaz yellow, and was now fitted into a ring. King moved closer and inspected it, there was an image of a starburst pattern at the center, but King wasn't sure what that meant. "H-How did you do that?!"
"My other mentor transferred the knowledge into my mind, and from there it's just been automatic. It's kind of hard to explain, but I get these weird sensations that compel me to make these rings. Somehow or another they always end up being exactly what I needed, even if I don't know exactly that they do at first," Luz explained.
King thought for a moment and snapped his claw, "So that's why you've been in your room a lot."
"Yep." Then Luz made an expression and said, "Whatever Eda told you that sock meant, it's probably true, but I used it, it was not for that purpose."
"Okay, so, is that it then?" King asked.
"Yep, now it's time for–" Luz felt the same sensation again. "Oh shoot, c'mon, it's been a long night. King, those cookies, now!"
"Weh!" King hurried to Luz's bag and grabbed the tin of cookies.
Luz hurriedly grabbed three and ate them quickly, the moment she did Luz felt a spike in her mana, giving her back some of her vigor. "There we go, now let's do this!"
King watched again as Luz made a new circle, repeating the same process as a second ring was created. The pattern on the ring had a kind of lightning bolt, with silver strands coming out from it. King was about to ask Luz what this one possibly meant, but then he noticed how woozy Luz looked. "H-Hey, Luz, you look a little out of it now."
"Yeah…Yeah…It's okay, making these rings drains my magic, a lot." Luz grabbed another cookie and ate it. The sugary treat boosted her mana reserves, lessening the draining effects. "I learned that eating something with sugar helps to replenish my magic, so I've made sure to stash some snacks in my back, and in here. Looks like it's paying off a bit." Luz ate a four more before the tin was empty. "Well, hopefully I won't be out all morning like last time. Goodnight, King."
King watched Luz open her sleeping bag and crawl into it, shutting her eyes. A moment later, she was out like a light. The little demon looked about, he carefully put the stones back in the pouch along with the two rings that Luz just created. He walked back to where Francois was, picked up the stuffed rabbit, and laid down curled up next to Luz.
Luz, Eda might get worried that you're Witch, but I also know she'd be real proud of you.
