Author Note: a quick little chapter idea I had that involved Minerva being stuck as a 16 year old for a time. NO she will not wind up in Harry's bed but Hermione of course will.
Minerva McGonnegal was sitting in her home feeling oddly depressed. It was her sixty first birthday and she was spending it alone. She had to admit part of the reason was because she had not invited any of her friends to help her celebrate, the other part though was much sadder as she had very few friends left to help her celebrate.
Their first war against Voldemort had ended with an uncertain suddenness, with far too many of her friends lost. People she had known and cared about killed in the prime of their life. Like harry Potter's parents. Like too many other students.
She sighed thinking she needed to get out and change her perspective on a few things, to remind herself why she continued to teach. She stripped and looked at her old body in the mirror. Smiling as she thought being a transfiguration master any beauty is a matter of vanity she took her wand and waved it over herself in circles chanting.
Her skin firmed and smoothed itself as her hair took on the lustrous reddish sheen it had in her youth, her bosom becoming perky and taught as well as her bottom she soon appeared like her 16 year old self once more. Making certain she was fully transformed in the mirror she turned to her closet.
Changing her clothes into something somewhat more appropriate for her figure she dressed thinking a day in Diagon Alley just being a carefree teen might be nice.

She flooed into the Leaky Cauldron as a teenager would not be able to apparate. Stepping out she immediately heard the loud voice of Molly Weasley berating young Ron for some infraction. Looking over she saw the boy with his hands in his pockets looking crossly at the floor.
Minerva never understood how booming at the children like some kind of harridan did not cause them to all turn out like malcontents. She saw young miss Ginny standing in the corner chatting with an young gentleman who had graduated in 1989. The young man and her were standing very close together before they turned and went into a back alcove.
Curious to ensure that young Miss Weasley was not going to be harmed she carefully followed to find the red head on her knees beginning to give the young man a treat. Minerva's eyes went wide, not in any prudish surprise but more at the temerity the young Weasley had. Shaking her head she backed away unnoticed and went through into the Alley itself.
The alley was a pale and sad shell of itself. Olivander's was closed as were a great many other shops. The joke shop of the Weasleys one of the few to remain open.
She was looking around at the various closed buildings when she bumped into someone knocking them down. Looking to apologize she saw that she had walked straight into the back of Harry Potter himself.
"Oh dear. Forgive me. I was not paying attention to where I was going." She said offering him a hand up.
Taking it he said, "No problem. I was just lost in thought too, everything looks so depressed now."
"I suppose this confirms we are heading for war then." Minerva said glumly.
Harry frowned, "Maybe. I'm sure things will work out in the end." He sighed then smiled at her, "My names Harry. I don't think I've met you before."
"No. I doubt you have. I'm home-schooled." She said to prevent him from learning he was speaking to his head of house. Minerva was certain Harry would not react well to that, and she wanted to see what he was naturally like outside of the constructs of school. "My name is Heather."
"Oh. Well pleased to meet you. Are you waiting on someone?"
"No. I came to do some shopping but, I may have to acquire a few things elsewhere." She said looking around. Albus had mentioned that the disappearances had begun again, the paper trying to downplay them to avoid a panic. "Are you waiting on someone?"
"Yeah. Some of my friends said they would meet me here. There's one now." He said smiling so brightly his entire face lit up Minerva noticed. Turning she saw the reason why and smiled to herself.
Hermione Granger had just walked through the entryway, followed by her mother. She smiled and waved to Harry happily then seemed to notice the state of the Alley as she frowned looking around.
"Hello Harry." Hermione said giving him a quick hug. She then turned to Minerva with a smile, "Who's your friend?"
"Oh this is Heather. She is home schooled. Heather this is my friend Hermione and her mother."
"Hello Hermione. Ma'am." Minerva politely said nodding to each of them.
"Call me Emma please. Ma'am makes me feel like I should be looking out for my mother."
Minerva had always liked the Grangers. Both of them were very happy and relaxed people.
"So have you seen Ron?" Harry asked.
"Yeah he was getting dressed down by his mum. Apparently he had wanted to stop and eat, after they had already eaten before coming here. I swear I'm surprised he's not as big as Hagrid with as much as he eats." Hermione shook her head.
"Oh. What about Ginny?" Harry asked casually.
Hermione paused with a glance at her mother before saying, "Uh no. I didn't see her she must have been in the loo."
Minerva smelled the lie on that comment from a dozen paces. Her professorial instincts recognizing it for what it was. It was not her place to say anything though so remained silent.
"Well do you think we should wait for them or go on?" Harry asked.
"They may be a bit. We can at least get the boring bits out of the way so Ron doesn't complain."
Harry shrugged, "Sure. Do you guys need to go to the bank?"
"Yes we have to exchange some money. I didn't like the rate the bookstore gave us last time." Emma said.
"Would you like to come with us, Heather? The way the alley looks maybe there should be strength in numbers." Hermione offered while harry nodded.
"Yes. Perhaps I will. Having a gentleman escort does not seem like a bad idea." Minerva said with a bit of a flirt. Just to see how he would react.
Harry looked at Hermione for a moment who was smirking before offering Minerva his arm, he offered Hermione his other one. When both girls took his arm Emma laughed but followed them up the street.
Hermione sighed, "It looks like pictures of the Blitz."
Minerva shook her head, she had come to London with her mother during the Blitz, it was far worse. "No it was far worse. At least from what my aunt has told me."
"Your aunt was alive during the blitz?" Hermione asked.
"Yes. She was a young girl then. She told me about how one day a bomb fell into the central courtyard outside Gringotts."
"I thought the alley was unplottable?" Hermione said perplexed.
"It is but when the Jerry's were throwing as many bombs as they were sometimes things slip through. Its a bit of the chaos factor of life." Minerva said recalling how she had stood in that courtyard only a few days previous to the event.
Hermione seemed to accept that with just a nod. They chatted a bit more about the past of the alley and the way unplottable areas worked. Minerva was impressed by Miss Granger's knowledge as well as Harry's ability to understand some of the concepts. She glanced over her shoulder to see Mrs Granger smiling at the three of them with a poorly hidden grin.
Once the money had been exchanged and Harry had retrieved enough to go shopping they returned to their discussion of home-schooling compared to Hogwarts. Minerva was pleased to hear Hermione describe herself as one of her favorite professors.
They were walking back to the twin's joke shop when harry saw Ron looking into the window of the Quidditch supply store and jogged across the alley to talk to him. Hermione was standing with her mother and Minerva in front of the apothecary when there was an explosion inside the store that blew all three females down. Potions, potion ingredients and other things were scattered across the street. Minerva had been standing closest so took the brunt of the explosion.
Harry and Ron ran back over, "Hermione! Are you okay?"
Sitting up spitting Hermione said, "I think so. What about Mum?"
Harry turned to look at the muggle woman who was covered in a multi-colored slime. She was groaning as she tried to shift her position, "She's alive just coated in potions."
Hermione nodded then began to rinse herself off, "Wash Mum off Harry. We don't know what these will do to her."
"Right" Harry said spraying water over Emma, "Ron, check on Heather there."
Ron nodded, "Got it." Spraying her off and administering first aid.

Minerva woke up in the hospital feeling odd. She blinked several times before sitting up to see Albus in a chair beside her bed.
"Ahh. Hello Old friend. You gave us a bit of a scare."
"Sorry about that. How are the others?" She asked quickly.
"Well thanks to the rapid application of a great deal of water neither Granger lady suffered anything more permanent than some embarrassing memories of having shown Mr Potter a great deal more flesh than they had intended." He said with an amused twinkle in his eyes.
"Albus could you be a bit more detailed in your description of their condition." She huffed.
"Sorry Minerva. As you know being coated in that many potions simultaneously has some unpredictable results. Mrs Granger's clothes shrunk rapidly to the point she burst out of them, meanwhile young Miss Granger grew out of her clothes. Quite rapidly. Resulting in the both of them on full display."
"Oh dear. And Mr Potter?"
"I believe it will be three more days before they will be able to wipe the smile off of his face." Albus joked.
"Albus." She hissed.
"He is well. As is Mr Weasley. Although he apparently did earn the ire of Miss Granger with a comment that resulted in him being kicked several yards away. I am not entirely certain however I feel it might have involved her sudden nudity."
Minerva frowned, then she noticed as she crossed her arms that her bosom still felt perky and firm. Looking down at herself she saw that she was still in her teenage appearance. "Albus? I was knocked unconscious. Why have I not returned to my normal form?"
"As I said being covered in that many potions simultaneously has random results. It seems that your transfigurations have been rendered if not permanent, then they have had their duration vastly increased." He said looking at her like he was holding back a grin.
"I cannot appear before my students looking like this. They will never take me seriously." She cried grumpily. "Haven't you or anyone else attempted to reverse them?"
"Oh yes. We have attempted several times. I myself have. We would like to see if you may still perform your animagus shift."
She jumped out of bed and willed for herself to shift into her feline form. She felt nothing of the tingle, screwing up her face she concentrated only to remain entirely human. "I have been an animagus since I was in my early twenties" She grumbled standing with her hands balled on her hips.
"Yes well that seems to agree with the other specialists. You seem to have become form locked."
"I am not with child." She said narrowly glaring at him.
"I did not say you were. Although they did check and confirm you could be if you wished to. It would seem that physically at least you are sixteen years old. Chronologically of course you remain yourself."
Minerva looked puzzled, "The potions could not have done that? Could they?"
"I admit I am not a potions master, so like yourself I have only the basic knowledge. However after speaking with Severus and a few of the specialists at the hospital it would seem that yes, it is entirely plausible that the potions you had been coated with could have done that. Coupled with the spells already active upon yourself."
She sat on the bed again, "I cannot appear before my students like this. They would never take me seriously."
"They appeared to take Mr Potter and his friends seriously this last year." Albus pointed out carefully.
"That was a known member of their peers. If I suddenly appeared attempting to present myself as, myself, they would be come suspicious. After all of the chaos and havoc their education has been so far I would not blame them." She frowned at him.
Albus laughed, "Anyone who is familiar with you would have no doubts about your identity if you masqueraded as a yeti."
"That is not humorous Albus."
"Perhaps you could go among them as a student. From the reports It would appear you had introduced yourself as someone named Heather." Albus said smirking.
Minerva scowled, "That I did. I had not planned upon it but saw Mr Potter in the Alley and wanted to speak with him as a peer to see about his well being."
"As he was rather concerned about Heather I have a feeling his being was quite well." Albus chuckled slightly.
Minerva dryly looked at him, "And what am I supposed to do as a student?"
"Well I suppose do your usual best. I believe we could find a way for you to join Gryffindor House."
"You are enjoying this entirely too much Albus." Minerva frowned at him.
"Consider this a holiday old friend." Albus said standing.

Minerva was standing on the platform at Kings Cross on September first. She had agreed with Albus' asinine idea of letting her attend the school as a student until she could be restored to her normal self. She had worked with him to come up with a story so that her absence would not be questioned too closely, as well as the appearance of Heather among the students.
"Heather?" She heard Hermione call to her from behind.
Minerva turned to see that Miss Granger was almost six foot tall with much larger breasts than she had before. "Miss Granger?"
"Hermione. No need to be so formal. How are you?"
"I seem to have come out of it with fewer changes than you did." Minerva said looking the girl up and down.
Hermione blushed a bit, "Yeah. They got me down to this size at least. Harry doesn't mind though."
Raising her eyebrow Minerva said, "I take it you and he have become an item?"
"Well since he saw everything anyhow. I thought we should discus our feelings. Turns out he has had a crush on me for the last couple of years but was unsure of how to express it." Hermione said with a grin.
"Well congratulations then. And your mother? Did she suffer any complications?"
"Aside from developing a hatred for tight clothes and she is still unable to look at Harry without blushing she's fine." Hermione laughed.
"Oh that is fortunate." Minerva sighed in relief.
Harry came along at that point and put his arm around Hermione to pull her into a hug. Minerva was pleased to see him actually initiate the hug, a most unusual action for him.
"Hey Harry!" Hermione said before she buried his lips with hers. When they came up a moment later for air, Hermione happily said, "Heather said she turned out okay."
"Oh that's good to know. Are you coming to school with us?"
"Yes I'll explain more on the train." Minerva said picking up her bags.
Review Responses:
Spark40sw: It is being worked on. And I think at the end fo the story I have an idea for a HEA. I hope.
RhysThornberry: Thank you. And I hope to get it done too.
TomHRichardson: Thank you. And I'll just say taht Harry realizes a few thigns when it wears off that he hadn't before. As for when Rose meets Ron and Molly the phrase frosty comes to mind.
Minerdude: Thanks. I was watching that episode a few days before that so it was fresh in my mind.
Katmom: Thanks. I hope to get it done too.
Ironhidensh: Thanks. And yeah i have decided Snape is going to be on the recieving end of the more physically comedic encounters.
Timekeeper: Absolutely. Putting that many teens essentially living together constantly the number of tissue boxes you'd need without a libido suppressant would be outstanding...
N0wa5t3r: Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed. I decided to try a new format and work on each story a little bit each night. Focused on those. It might slow down overall production rate but it will keep the various stories fresher in my mind as I work on them. Thanks for the conern I'm working on it. May you have a blessed season of holidays as well.
OfficerDonNZ: True that. Susan will definately make an appearance at some point. Not sure if she'll be with Harry or not but she will be in there somewhere.
