Location: Jujutsu High Academy

Qrow took a sip from his flask as he waited in the conference room of Jujutsu High.

The base of operations for the Initative, a school was as a concept funny to Qrow but it was nothing new considering his experiences with Ozpin. And although he'd never say it he preferred working under Ozpin because in spite of the man's secrets and lies he was at least knowledgeable enough to work efficiently.

Gojo on the other hand was by all accounts a manchild, a very powerful manchild but a manchild nonetheless whose eccentricities and sometimes callous behavior often drove him to drink more. He often left out information or didn't think things through a hundred percent of the time. Even his partner Megumi, who had spend years under Gojo's tutelage was at his wit's end with Gojo's behavior.

Speaking off, Megumi entered the conference room finding only Qrow there.

"Ah Megumi good to have you here" Qrow spoke raising his flask as a way to say hello.

"Gojo not here yet?" Megumi asked in his usual stoic serious tone.

Qrow shook his head "no not yet. I do hope he shows up, I've got some words for him."

"Did he tell you to stop drinking again…" Megumi asked sarcastically. Qrow snickered at that response, it was so out of the ordinary for Megumi to crack jokes but he assumed Power had an impact on him. After five years of working with the boy, the moment that he got with Blood Devil, Qrow knew it was only a matter of time before a wilder side of Megumi's otherwise serious demeanor would emerge.

"No…he made my niece cry and I want to give him a piece of my mind."

Speak of the devil, as in that moment the door opened and Gojo walked in. Not in his usual dramatic flare but as serious as Qrow had ever seen him. Everything had changed when Yuta was killed, and Gojo was now out on only one thing.

Revenge on the one that killed not just his protégé, but the closest thing he had to a son.

"Gentleman thank you for showing up. I know I've been busy a lot but I need to discuss something with you" Gojo said as he sat at the end of the large table.

Qrow put his flask away and responded "yeah and I would like to discuss something with you as well."

Gojo sighed irritably "fine but make it fast this is important" he responded.

Qrow stood up "you need to apologize to Ruby."

"Excuse me?" Gojo responded, raising an eyebrow from beyond his eye blocking mask.

"You heard me boss. You've been treating Ruby like a pariah for weeks now and it needs to end. She knows she messed up, you don't have to keep rubbing it in. She didn't mean for all of this to happen so I want you to apologize and stop treating her this way."

Qrow kept calm and explain his frustration to his boss. With Gojo's eyes covered he couldn't read the man's expression but he could sense Gojo's disapproval by the way man nonchalantly moved around in his seat.

"That's what you want to discuss Qrow? We have more important matters to discuss then your niece feeling down because of something that need I remind you, was her doing! If she hadn't handled that prison realm then Jaune wouldn't be stuck in there and Weiss and Blake wouldn't have been lost!"

"You can't blame all of that on her. We where under attack she did what she thought was the best way to deter our enemies!"

"By handling something very dangerous and at the risk of releasing the prisoners from that place. That prison realm was kept away for a good reason Qrow!" Gojo argued.

"And how could she have known that!" Qrow countered.

Gojo stood up sighed audibly once again "enough of this! Your niece made a mistake and must now live with it! In the meantime there are more important things that need to happen."

"Like what?" Qrow said loudly.

"LIKE FINDING AND KILLING HENRY CREEL!" Gojo shouted.

Qrow stepped backwards and Megumi looked surprised. They had never heard Gojo yell, even when he was angry he would either just sulk or take a walk but he was never one for shouting. But for Qrow the pieces now finally came together. Why Gojo was gone so often, why James had called him telling him that Gojo had killed someone in bright day light in Atlas.

"So that's it…that's what this is all about. Your constant absence, James's phone call, killing Zemo…it's all just to get to Creel…"

Gojo remained silent, crossing his arms as he stood up.

Qrow grew frustrated at his boss's indignant behavior and lashed out "so that's what you are wasting your time on! Finding one person! All the while everyone here is worried sick about their friends, Jaune is stuck in that prison realm, Weiss and Blake are missing on an unknown world! And all you care about is finding Creel!"

"HE KILLED YUTA!" Gojo shouted as he slammed his fist on the table, causing it to violently shake. Gojo removed his eye band and looked directly at Qrow with his piercing clear blue eyes.

"He killed Yuta….and he's going to pay for that. And I won't stop until I've found out where that decrepit ghoul is hiding and I've made him pay for what he did to Yuta…so watch your tone Qrow, you know that if you where in my shoes and it was one of your kids, you would've done exactly the same."

The two men were standing in front of one another and Megumi kept his distance, waiting for the inevitable explosive outcome from the unaddressed volatile powder keg that was the temper of both Satoru Gojo and Qrow Branwen.

Megumi figured out a while ago that Gojo was out there looking for revenge. Yuta was family, he was like a son to him, of course he would want Creel dead. But in spite of all their process over the years, Creel's realm of the Upside Down was still inaccessible and a mystery to them.

Qrow was the first person to react "look I get it I really do and I'm with you on finding Creel and making him pay. Yuta deserved better. But we've been unable to locate him for a long time and I think helping out the people here find their loved ones is more important right now."

Gojo remained silent for an uncomfortable amount of time. He didn't yell or offer up a counterargument. Instead he turned around and walked to the door, but before stepping out he turned his head to Qrow.

"I thought you of all people would've understood Qrow. I failed Yuta, I should've protected him and I failed in that. You should know what that's like Qrow, after all remember how you failed Arthur…"

Qrow's body stiffened up and he felt a sting in his heart as he was reminded of that day. The day he held a dying boy no older then twelve in his arms, unable to save him, unable to save the rest of his family.

This time Megumi spoke up "sensei that was a low blow."

Gojo glanced at Megumi and simply said "too bad. Deal with it. The meeting is off, I'm going to find Creel on my own, don't get in my way…"

And with that he left the room. Qrow remained in a daze even as Megumi walked over to him and shook him out of his daze. The older man didn't even react.

"Qrow. I'm very sorry about what he said, that was really low of him" Megumi said.

Qrow couldn't form a response, instead Megumi simply embraced him. The two had worked together for years now, they where two different men from two different worlds and different minds but in this moment, just a friend trying to be there for the other.
