Painful Past

Mark and Peter must escape the Vault while every bad guy in the prison wants to kill them, while Black Cat agrees to help them if they help her. But Spider-man must come face to face with his most hated enemy and realize a terrible detail. Do not own Spectacular Spider-Man.

At the Vault…

Things were going wrong.

What started as a simple test run is now a nightmare. Someone hacked into the systems of the Vault and now was in control of the whole prison. What was worse was that the crooks were working with whomever was manipulating the Vault's security systems. Molten Man was plagued with worry as his family was in the vault! Though they were at the safest part. But with everything going haywire like this, nowhere was safe inside this terrible place. They both needed to take control back before things got even worse than before. Thus, the two teen heroes were on the job once again, working together to escape and save everyone.

"Don't worry, Mark. Liz and the others are going to be safe. They got the cops with them, and Mr. Osborn knows the prison like the back of his hand." Spider-man breathed as he was a little worried himself but was trying his best to hide it.

"I don't know, Muy pequeño. I feel like things are about to keep getting worse." Molten Man answered as he felt someone was watching their every move, wanting to murder them both.

Peter pulled up his mask and kissed him on the lips.

"Don't worry. We'll get through this, and everything will be fine, Eternal Candle." Peter whispered lovingly.

Mark felt love in his worried burning heart as the pair had their upside-down kiss. Molten never felt more in love than ever in his life. Peter Parker, Spider-man, was the person he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. He saw every single thing that was ugly about him and still treasured him as much, even more. Peter made him a better man, and Spider-man made him a better hero, he probably be a thug like the ones Peter would have fought if it weren't for him. He was his rock and he loved him for it.

"Wow, am I interrupting something?"

And it seemed that he wasn't the only one who loved him as well.

"Black Cat." Mark gritted his teeth.

"At your service."

At the control room…

The Green Goblin was pouring a vial of blood into his mouth as he felt himself becoming stronger with every last drop.

The Elixir of Life, the power to promote strength, speed, power, intelligence, and immortality to all who sought it, for it was the essence of the Web of Life itself. All throughout the course of history sought this elixir and died to try and capture it. But they failed to realize that the elixir is not found in a place, in a bottle, or created… it is in a person, a very special person. The irony was that this person was cutting into his business and that he needed him.

Oh well, all his grunts have to do is cripple him and he was all his to pump dry. This boy was a walking formula for immortality. However, since the blood's effect only lasted a few days, the Goblin knew he needed to research the boy and find a more permanent solution. He rather not lock away this boy for all eternity.

"Soon… soon you will be mind. I just need to see more, see more anger, see more pain, see more of the real you…" The Green Goblin purred as he was watching the screens, watching Spider-man with his compatriots running down to the cells, "When you face the monster in your nightmares, I wonder, will you become fully evolved? Will we finally see what you really are?"

At one of the cells.

The prisoner helped them into the cells, Peter was surprised that he was so willing to help.

But the real shock came when he saw who it was… his Uncle Ben's killer, the Cat.

"Hello, Spider-man." He breathed as he felt the rage from the boy.

"You…" Peter growled as it was the first time Mark had ever heard Peter so angry, so filled with hate.

While Black Cat was talking to her… father, Molten Man pulled Peter back for a moment.

"Who is that?" He whispered as he could feel anger from his love.

"Mark… that man killed Uncle Ben," Spider-man answered, shocking Molten Man to the core.

"That's him? That's him." Mark realized as the anger was infecting him, causing him to steam up, "That's him…"

He hurt Peter, he murdered someone Peter loved… Mark was tempted to strangle him until he was a pile of ashes…

"Mark no. We can't kill him or let him die…" Spider-man sighed, surprising Molten Man again.

"But P-."

"I know, I know. But it's the right thing to do. But he is never leaving here." Peter answered while Mark nodded.

"And I'll make sure he stays in, even if I have to put Black Cat behind bars," Mark promised, looking at the pair.

If Black Cat or her father hurt Peter again, neither one of them will leave his Vault…

Aftermath of the Vault…

Mark got a promotion for his work and not a single prisoner got out.

He was made head of security with a fancy golden badge as he brought the Cat back to his cell personally. Next will be his daughter the next time Molten Man sees him; Peter will not protect her again. Not after what she said to him. Ugh, even remembering it made his blood boil…!

"How could you leave my father in that place? Did I mean anything to you!? I won't ever forgive you!"

Yep, that earned her way to his enemy list.

"Keep moving, Murderer." Mark barked as he pushed him into his cell.

"…Yes, I am."

"When you killed Ben Parker, did you know he had a family or that he had a loving nephew?" Mark growled.

"No."

"No, you didn't. You didn't care because you only wanted a car to escape in, you care about no one else, just like Black Cat and know this… next time I see her, she's going to jail. Spider-man won't protect her again." He warned as the Cat felt his blood run cold.

Mark then left to meet with his family and the others who were safely evacuated.

Later at night, he and Peter cuddled one another under the moonlight.
