"Alright everyone." Thirteen said as they moved into the collapsed city zone. "This will be a bit different from what we've done previously. The purpose of this scenario is to give a more genuine rescue experience. Civilians could be anywhere in various states of injury. Four of you will be rescuers while the others will hide. Eight of them may not speak and will play the unconscious victims."
Amari was kind of hoping she would get to be one of the 'unconscious' people as it gave her the perfect opportunity to relax. She was still a little bit shaken up (and extremely embarrassed) from the whole panic attack debacle.
"So we're playing hide-and-seek!" Mina cheered enthusiastically from beside her.
"Pretty much. Now, you four" A pointed finger at Uraraka, Mineta, Bakugou and Midoriya. "will be the rescuers."
A shudder went down her spine at the thought of Mineta getting his grubby little hands on her or any of her female classmates. She could already see him muttering excitedly to himself.
Amari shot a quick glance to Aizawa, looking over meaningfully to the boy as she managed to catch his gaze. The man nodded almost imperceptively, before bending down and whispering something to Thirteen.
"The eight unconscious victims will be Iida, Sero, Kirishima, Aoyama, Shoji, Tokoyami, Kaminari and Ojiro!"
A relieved look was shared between Mina, Momo and Amari. At least they could defend themselves if Mineta tried anything.
A brief flicker of irritation fluttered in her gut at the fact that the boy was somehow still getting away with his behavior. Sure, Aizawa gave reprimanding and frankly uncomfortable speeches to the class about respecting boundaries but there was never any real consequence. Maybe the girls should band together and make a formal complaint?
"Why do I have to do it with fucking Deku?!" Bakugou demanded angrily.
Thirteen more or less ignored his outburst, only offering a reproachful stare at his language. "
"We start now! The victims have five minutes to find a spot. Grab one of these red bands and tie it around the location of your 'injury'. Unconscious victims, you will take a white band."
Their class slowly shuffled past Thirteen to receive their bands. Amari grabbed a red one and leisurely strolled somewhere towards the right side of the city, seeing as most of her class had chosen to go the other way.
After a moment she came to a stop in front of a partially collapsed building, briefly wondering about the safety of the building. Surely it was only just a prop? Just to be safe, she chose a spot near the edge of the building close to the street before setting herself down and tying the red band around her left leg.
Amari waved at Todoroki as she saw him peak out from a spot down the street where he had entered a partially crumpled bright yellow car. The boy merely send a curt nod her way before closing his eyes.
She yawned as she shuffled around a bit trying to get more comfortable on the unforgiving concrete. It had been roughly 5 minutes now so the rescuers would be starting now.
Shooting a quick glance over at Todoroki because there wasn't really anything else to do, she startled as she saw a hulking figure looming next to the opened car door. The figure was clad in dark clothes, spiky shoulder guards and a gas mask covering his entire face.
"No, no, not again." She muttered quietly as her heart rate jumped up. "What do I do? What would my classmates do?"
Briefly, the image of Bakugou exploding the living shit out of the man crossed her mind. But she wasn't him.
Amari pulled out one of her senbon as she slowly crept closer towards the scene. Luckily the man had his back turned towards her. As she got closer, she could hear the man speaking in a deep tone, altered slightly by the mask.
Finally, she was in reach as she turned a corner. Okay this was it. There was a part on the back of his neck that was exposed.
Sending a quick prayer to whoever the god of accuracy was, Amari sent her senbon flying. She surprised herself when it actually managed to hit the man, though a bit more to the left that what she had aimed for.
Silently, she counted to three as the man turned around frantically looking for her before he collapsed into a heap. She quickly darted towards her classmate, still inside of the car.
"Are you alright, Todoroki?" She hastily scanned him from top to toe looking for injury.
The boy merely regarded her blankly. In fact, he looked awfully calm for the situation at hand.
"That's All Might." He deadpanned.
"What?!" She whipped her face around to the man on the floor. His physique did resemble the hero, she supposed. "Why?"
The number one hero lay in a crumbled heap at her feet (she tried not to feel too giddy about the fact that she had brought him down). Amari fumbled around in her pack before pulling out a syringe and small vial. After that time she had accidentally paralyzed Kaminari for several of her morning classes, she had asked for an antidote to be made.
With trained ease, she pulled up the liquid into the syringe before injecting it into All Might's shoulder. About a minute later, the man was up and moving again.
"Ah young Shuzenji!" Came his muffled voice. "I didn't count on you intervening like this, I must admit. Very commendable."
"Uhh thanks? Why are you dressed like that?" She replied uncertainly.
"I am here to test how you will all react to the presence of another villain after the previous incident."
"Isn't that bit soon?"
"I believe they can handle it!" He gave a thumbs up. "Anyway, as I was telling young Todoroki here, I will need a little extra incentive to motivate your classmates, which is why I wanted to take him with me as my hostage. Now that you are aware of my plan however, I will ask you to join him."
This was quite possible the stupidest plan she had ever heard. Her classmates would be pissed when they found out.
"Fine."
"Perfect! Now how much of this paralyzing stuff do you have left? It will make you guys being unconscious much more realistic." All Might droned on cheerfully.
Amari exchanged a wary look with Todoroki, who merely nodded nonchalantly. She pulled out another senbon and pricked it unceremoniously into the boy's arm, his costume thin enough to penetrate, before pricking herself into her thigh.
"Don't drop me, please." She said as she felt the agent moving through her body, relaxing her muscles.
The senbon clattered to the ground moments before she herself collapsed, eye lids slipping closed, caught by one of the hero's gigantic hands. He easily hauled her up over his shoulder, taking off one of the spiky shoulder guards.
She could hear him picking up Todoroki out of the car, slamming the door close not-so gentle, before the trio was moving down the street.
"Fucking finally." Bakugou gritted through his teeth as he yanked Tape Face out beneath a fallen over fence. Without ceremony, he adjusted his grip so he was holding the collar of his costume and dragged him behind him towards the starting point in a slight jog. A rescue only counted when a victim was returned back to the start where the teachers were waiting and he was going to fucking win this thing.
"You're destroying my costume, man." The extra spoke.
"Shut the fuck up, you're unconscious."
"Oh Kacchan! You found another one, well done!"
Bakugou grinded his teeth in annoyance as Deku popped out of a side street, an 'unconscious' classmate, the annoying French one, was slung across his shoulder as Round Face trailed slightly behind him with that irritatingly star struck expression she got whenever she was near that nerd.
A vein on the side of his neck pulsed angrily as he noted that Deku had 'rescued' two people while he only had one. He surreptiously picked up his pace, angrily stomping away from Deku and his fan club.
"Guys!" Four eyes came to a screeching halt in between the nerd and him, a frantic expression on his face. Shouldn't he be one of the victims?
"What's wrong?" Deku inquired in that annoying high pitch of his. The sound truly grated Bakugou's ears.
"There's a villain coming this way!" Four Eyes exclaimed between pants. "We must regroup with the teachers!"
Bakugou stilled for a moment as the vision of Aizawa crushed into the ground, blood pooling all around him with only First Aid keeping him alive, passed his mind. The Nomu closing in on him only to be stopped in the nick of time by All Might himself.
He clenched his jaw. That wouldn't happen again. He was stronger now. He didn't need anyone to save him.
"Let him come." He barked, dropping Tape Face to the ground. "I'll beat him into the dust."
"I do not think that is a good idea, Bakugou-san. As your class representative, I strongly urge you to come with the rest of the class to where the teachers are." Four Eyes moved almost robotically as he gestured around wildly.
He narrowed his eyes at the freak dangerously. Who the fuck did he think he was telling him what to do?
"He's right, Kacchan!" Deku interjected. "If this villain is anywhere close to being as strong as that Nomu was then none of us would stand a chance alone. We should leave it to the pros!"
Bakugou scoffed derisively. Maybe they weren't strong enough but hell would freeze over before he ran away from danger like a frightened little lamb.
"The class will need your strength if the villain is dangerous." Deku decided to try another tactic but Bakugou saw right through him.
"I don't care what a bunch of extras like you is gonna do but I sure as hell am not running away from a fight! You guys are-"
He choked on his own spit as Four Eyes collided with him with the force of a bulldozer and yanked him behind him towards the starting point. How DARE he?!
Before Bakugou could punch the class representative in the face, his eyes landed on the villain as he leisurely strolled into the clearing where most of his classmates were gathered already. The villain was clearly a man, wearing a dumb looking gasmask that Bakugou wouldn't be caught dead wearing, and a spiky shoulder guard on one shoulder.
His gaze narrowed as his eyes landed on the limp form of First Aid dangling over the other shoulder, one of the villain's hands on her back to keep her from sliding off. He swore he saw this girl unconscious more times than conscious at this rate.
The villain's other hand was clutching an equally conked out Half-and-half Bastard by the vest of his ugly white suit. The sight made him slightly nervous, not that he would ever let anyone know that. First Aid was probably easy to take out but Half-and-half was strong. He had seen it during these last few months. He was his biggest competition for the number one spot.
A nervous hush fell over the class at the sight of two of their classmates in the hold of the villain. How strong did one have to be to take out someone like Todoroki without a sound?
Tail rushed towards where the teachers were standing, asking for help.
"I'm too injured to help." Was Aizawa's monotone reply.
What the fuck?
"You guys have to run! Save yourselves!" Thirteen's reply sounded frantic as she motioned towards the exit.
"Too late."
The deep muffled voice of the villain was accompanied by a shockwave that nearly threw Bakugou of his feet as the man stomped his right leg on the ground once. The strength of the shockwave shifted debris around until they were encased into a semi-circle with no access to the exit.
That was fine for him. He wasn't going to run like a coward anyway.
A determined scowl set on his face as he propelled himself forwards with explosions that tingled pleasantly in the palms of his hands. As soon as he was in reach, he reeled his fist back and punched at the villain's sternum. Unfortunately, the man was faster than he looked and he easily sidestepped the hit.
Bakugou was not one to give up so soon so he immediately followed with a harsh kick to the guy's back, which got blocked by a kick from the man himself. He winced slightly at the force of the impact. This man had shins of steel. He nimbly darted back around and set off an explosion into the man's back, causing him to stumble for a step.
The corner's of his mouth pulled up into a manic grin.
"Four Eyes!" He yelled, eyes not moving from his target. "Get these cowards out of here. They'll only be in my way."
"You have guts." The villain rumbled. "Too bad I'm going to spill them."
The man pulled First Aid from his shoulder, the way her head lolled to the side lifelessly was nauseating, and placed her on the floor behind him together with Half-and-half.
"Let's see how you'll do when I have my hands free!"
Bakugou was not one to back away from a challenge so he went for another explosive punch, gritting his teeth as it was easily blocked with a hand. The man seemed unfazed from the force of his explosion. He used another explosion to vault over the man's arm as he made to grab him.
A more powerful explosion made the villain stumble back another step, though the force also caused Bakugou to go skidding across the floor, back to the rest of his class, from the force of it.
"We have to work together to save our classmates!" Pony Tail spoke with a pointed gaze in his direction.
"She's right, man." Shitty Hair spoke as he put a hand on his shoulder, which he immediately shrugged off. "And what do you mean by cowards?"
"We are the class 1-A students." Pony Tail continued.
"Yes! We will all be heroes!" Round face added on.
This was some kind of anime bull shit and it was sickening to be involved in.
"How brave." The villain mocked.
The man punched the air, the backlash being strong enough to rip up the ground and send rubble flying their way.
"Leave it to me!" The one kid Deku rescued earlier spoke as he shot a laser beam towards the debris, reducing it to dust.
Bakugou stared at the boy in thought. Who even was this? He didn't remember seeing him anytime before.
Ears plugged her jack into her boot, sending a sound blast towards the unfazed man. While the man was distracted though, Tape Face and Pony Tail caught the villain in a combination of tape and net.
"Now!" She yelled.
Deku dashed ahead, aiming a punch that was easily blocked. Simultaneously, Bakugou fired up his quirk, aiming an explosion straight to the face. The villain crouched down to dodge under it, and then another one that came for his throat.
The bastard was slippery as hell.
Another round of his quirk was merely swiped away by an arm. The man punched towards Bakugou, the air displacement making skid over the floor backwards.
"Looks like you're getting tired." The man commented as Bakugou righted himself. "Time to end this."
"I'm barely getting started, you bastard!" He launched himself back into the fray, barely registering Deku shouting something unintelligible.
He finally managed to get another hit in, this time to the man's exposed shoulder. Something green hurdled past them, managing to grab Half-and-half and reaching for First Aid. Before Deku could reach her, however, the villain grabbed her out of the way. Frog Girl pulled back, reeling in her tongue and with it Deku and Half-and-half.
But then Bakugou was there with a blast to the man's face as he grabbed the girl out of his grasp and pulling her into his arms before disengaging.
"Clever!" The man chuckled almost cheerfully.
And then fucking Deku was back with a punch that launched the man backwards into a wall covered with the little perv's disgusting balls, effectively keeping the man stuck to the wall.
Bakugou tightened his grip on the girl in his arms in annoyance at the strength that nerd had just displayed. He made it look so easy.
A small groan reminded him off the fact that he was squeezing another human being as he relaxed his grip somewhat at the sight of her eyes, looking eerily like gold, opening blearily.
"All Might?!" The outraged cry of one the extras snapped his attention back towards the 'villain' who was no other than the number one hero himself.
The man laughed awkwardly. "You all did great! I wouldn't expect any less from the hero course..."
He trailed off at the dark glares he was receiving from several of his students.
"Uh what I mean to say is... sorry?"
"You went overboard!" Four Eyes shouted with righteous anger.
So it was all a hoax?! Did that mean... He dragged his gaze back down to the now awake but still very much unmoving girl he was still carrying around.
"Were you fucking in on this?"
"Sort of." Came her sluggish reply.
"What the fuck?!"
Bakugou unceremoniously dropped the girl from his arms, not even wincing as she hit the ground with an indignant yelp.
"You suck." The girl muttered under her breath but he still heard her.
"What did you fucking say to me?!" Small sparks popped in his palms as he leaned in threateningly from where she still lay in a heap on the floor.
"I'm paralyzed and you just threw me on the floor." That particular spunky side of hers that only came out occasionally reared its head again and Bakugou didn't know whether he was amused or annoyed by it.
"That sounds like a you problem."
Her cheeks puffed up like some demented squirrel as she got angry.
"The least you could do is give me the antidote."
He merely stared at her with a raised brow.
"It's in my pocket." She added after a moment.
"Why would I help you?" He scoffed.
"Because you want to be a hero and heroes help people?" She retorted. "To be a gentleman? Not that that's likely."
Now that annoyed him. His mother had beat a sense of chivalry into him when it came to girls (sometimes).
"I could be a fucking gentleman!"
"Prove it." She goaded.
Bakugou let out an annoyed huff at the challenge. He hastily dug around her pouches until he had a vial and syringe in hand.
"5 mL should be enough."
He quickly withdrew exactly 5 mL before jabbing the needle into her thigh not-so gently.
"Ow." She said with a pointed glare in his direction.
Not even ten seconds later and she was pulling herself off of the ground, dusting off her clothes from all the dust and rubble, while he observed her like one would observe an animal in the zoo. His arms were crossed in front of him, the movement pulling on his taut muscles uncomfortably.
If he went through all this trouble for her, she might as well pay him back so he simply pushed his arms in her direction.
"Uh?" She stared dumbly at the appendages.
"Do that thing you did before."
She blinked up at him, god she was tiny, a few more times before she seemed to get what he meant and carefully took a hold of his right arm. Her lips brushed against his underarm with a featherlight touch that made the hairs of his skin rise.
He felt his muscles unwind, the knots smoothing out, as she worked her quirk first on his right and then his left arm until they felt like they did after a good long soak in a warm bath.
