One World: Many Souls

Chapter 45: Finding Myself

Angel's Point of View:

"Dad!" I couldn't resist the rolling of my eyes when I heard the cry of my eldest daughter. "Come on! I'm going to be late for my summer job!"

"Dang it there, baby bone." Taking a moment to glance around the corner from my spot in the living room, I saw Arial actually tugging on her father, yanking more like it as she prepared for a special extracurricular activity put on by her school. During the summer they were going to have one day a week where the kids would go to a place of establishment, mostly during slow days where there was little business or an easier day to try and expose a child to the work environment. It was a brand-new program the school was trying out. Eras and Arial jumped at the chance for it along with their cousin.

Eras and Impact already knew what they wanted to do. They went with special recommendations so that they could help out at Papyrus' restaurant one day a week during the summers. They were already used to the environment and the crowds, and the restaurant was busier than what the program ever allowed. Eras and Impact were encouraged to try other locations or try a rotation of businesses so they could get other work experience, but my son and Impact were both of one-track mind when it came to what they wanted to do when they grew up. They wanted to work for Papyrus and Lilly.

Arial was the odd one out who didn't know what she wanted and was planned to be put on rotation through different businesses. If she found one she liked, then she could stay with that one until the end of the summer. The first one she would be visiting would be a police station. She and a couple of her friends were going to be heading there that day. She would be helping with paperwork, going on patrol and a couple of other things.

I was excited, but worried for her too. A person of the law was not always as cool as they made it out to be in the movies…

"Daddy!"

"Come on, baby bone." Sans seemed to be struggling as his daughter had almost pulled off his entire coat in the process of her tugging. "I just need another minute."

"Arial Terians!" At my snapping remark, the girl froze. "You get your hands off your father this instant! That's incredibly rude what you're doing and unacceptable! Do you hear me? He said he would just be a minute, so be patient in waiting for him."

Her grip slacked and Sans was able to pull himself free before teleporting away before the girl could even notice. She pouted at me while I stared her down. The girl hardly flinched, used to my nasty scowl. She was the ripe age of eleven, almost twelve at that point. Getting to be into her own way, and turning far too much into her lovely aunt for my liking.

"She remind ya yet of her highness, the Mighty Terror?"

"Too much…" I sighed and turned to my husband on the other side of me. "You good?"

His loose grin was hardly phased, even as all the craziness was going on. "Course. Not gonna let a baby bone hurt me."

"Stop flirting!" Arial whined when she watched us. She picked herself off the floor and came in close, grabbing onto my clothes instead. "I'm going to be late!"

"If you keep this up, you won't be going." The seething comment that came from me finally made my daughter flinch and she pulled her fingers back from me. "Am I understood young lady?"

"But Mom…."

"Don't you 'but' me, Arial. You heard me and best well listen to me."

"…yes Mom…"

With a deep sigh, I turned back to my husband and motioned him to move before our daughter got anymore riled up. He took that chance to teleport away. He was taking Arial just as soon as he said his good-byes to the other kids. Eras and Impact had been taken in with Papyrus and Lilly when they went in earlier in the day. Those kids would be putting in a full day while Arial would get perhaps four or six hours.

"Mama!"

"Hm?" Turning my gaze to my youngest, Pristina giggled in glee at me when she toddled from her little play area over to my side. She padded my legs eagerly while she glanced at me with a bright smile. "What is it Pristi? What's going on?"

"Mama? Where Sissy go?"

"Sissy is going to work."

"Work?" She tilted her head ever so cutely. She was one of the rare children among ours that showed these deep violet eyes rather than the strawberry ones most of Sans and my children had. Jokerman was the only other one like her where he had a lovely ocean blue. But all of them had the snow-white hair on their heads that came from myself after merging my soul with Sans' all those years ago.

"Yes, Sissy is going to go work at the police station today. It's her summer job. She'll be back at dinner time."

"Okay." Her response was quick as Pristina then pulled gently on my dress I wore that day. "Mama? Play outside?"

"You want to play outside? That's fine, just have one of your siblings with you. So go ask Joker, Cali or Connie to watch you, okay? Momma has to work on some silly papers in her office."

"Okay Mama."

My baby girl toddled off to go find one of her older siblings and everything was then quiet in the house. I noticed Arial had a bring grin while her father grabbed her, saluting me before taking off. I sighed when half my headache was dealt with and only the other remained.

Paperwork… my pride and joy…

Arial's Point of View:

"Ari!"

"Lexi!" I squealed when I saw the girl. "I didn't think you were gonna be here!"

Alexandra Sapphire was a cute girl that I knew from my school. I talked with her when I could, but we were part of different social groups, so we didn't often get to spend time with one another. But sometimes she worked with me on school projects. She was always nice, and had these really pretty green eyes that went well with her blond hair.

"I changed my mind last minute!" The girl bounced in place while she was next to what I guessed to be her father. "My uncle is a police man here! I always wanted to know what his job was like, but Mom and Dad didn't really want me to… so I had to ask my uncle for help! This was the perfect chance!

"Yeah, this is gonna be so cool!"

"Hey baby bone?" I lifted my head away from my friend to see my dad just before he ruffled up my hair. "Ya be good and listen ta that officers, got it? Don't wanna see yer mom any more mad then she can be."

"Yes Dad…" It was hard not to roll my eyes at that. Dad wouldn't be too pleased, plus, he'd tattle on me to Mom. And Mom was way worse when she got mad…

Dad… I didn't think could get mad. He was always too silly for that.

"Good, have fun. See ya here 'round five."

And in a flash of blue, my father was gone. I could see Alexandra looking at the blue mist that was the remains of my father's magic before it dissipated and was gone entirely. Like he wasn't even there.

"You're dad's magic is so cool!"

"Really?" I blinked at my friend. "He mostly does it cuz he's lazy."

"Lazy? How?"

I giggled at my friend. I saw her father was gone too so he must have given his own good-bye as well while I was doing my own. "You'd have to come over and see him and my mom. They're both awesome, but crazy! Dad is super lazy unless it's related to Mom or puns. But he's good at helping with homework. Mom is always helping us with our training in magic and making sure we spend time together as a family when we can. She can be really busy with head of house stuff."

"That's right… I forgot your mom is the head of the region…" I saw her lip just lower a bit in her surprise. "Has she had that job for a long time?"

"Since I was born… I think…?"

"Lexi!" Our attention was gathered by a male who looked like Alexandra with the same piercing green eyes as her. With a warm smile, he gestured us inside where I saw a box of donuts… I couldn't help but drool. I hoped there was some cream filled ones… "You and your friend better come in! You girls are going on patrol after a quick tour of the office."

"Okay Uncle Izzy!" My hand was grabbed by Alexandra before she led me inside. "Let's do this Ari!"

I showed her a bright grin to match her enthusiasm. "Yeah!"

The first part of it all was a tad boring as we walked through the office to see most of the people at desks with lots of papers and computers they were going through. Alexandra's uncle, the captain I think, was talking to us about how they were working on different cases and trying to find out information about some people that had done bad things. He wouldn't show us a lot of the details about it, but he showed us some blank pages where a person's information would go, and where the files would go too.

At least I got donuts while listening to them. I knew Mom wouldn't be happy. I had like five…

But then the cool stuff happened! Captain Isadore, Alexandra's uncle, then took us in the cruiser to head into town. First, we had to do patrol to make sure people were obeying the law for the first hour of being out and about. It was so fun when he sped down the road chasing after speeders who were going way too fast in their car!

I laughed when another car had to be brought in to grab the speeders since the captain wouldn't let them sit with us. After all, we were little kids that shouldn't be exposed to criminals if they could avoid it.

Then came the next fun part. We actually got to help out with protection during a parade!

Well… that was more the captain and his partners. But we got to see the parade in the neighboring town, something to do about summer flowers? We had to stick close by them and keep an eye out for anything suspicious.

Alexandra and I kept our eyes out. We took this a heck of a lot more seriously compared to the other officers who were chatting it up with the locals. I'm sure they wanted to have some fun too at the parade, but they were working!

I swear, adults never do what they say, besides Mom and Dad.

As the day went on, I noticed quite a few people that seemed to be enjoying the parade, but there was this one person that just felt… off to me… I kept my eye on them, watching them filter between the crowd from across the streets. They slowly got a little closer to me, even so much as passing the officers and myself from where we were somewhat spaced out.

It was a woman I saw. She looked as if hard times had fallen on her with sullen eyes, though partially hidden by her bright colored hoodie. Both of her hands were hidden in the hoodie pocket while she walked.

She was suspicious!

The other cops were busy, so I looked to my partner in crime. Alexandra saw where I pointed quietly to the woman and motioned I was going to follow her. She nodded and kept watch out for anyone else while peaking back every so often.

The woman never looked back while I followed her. I tried to be careful by weaving in between the families that were watching the parade. I tried to be sneaky, but she never gave any reason for me to have to hide as I followed her.

Maybe I was wrong?

I thought that, but my magic was telling me an entirely different story. You couldn't hold much of a secret in our home with the way our magic worked. Us older four who already showed our magic, it was just like Mom's. We had chains like her, me, Eras, Calibi and Constantina. And we could feel each other's emotions. Well… in small bits here and there. It was still hard to do that even with all the training we'd had.

Mom made sure to train us with G.G., Aunt Undyne and Aunt Frisk when they had the time. I was battle ready! I even had ten chains I could use! We practiced every day!

So I could do something if I had to… it was just a question if this lady would do it or not… because she had some really weird feelings coming off of her… Jealously? Anger? And there was something else I couldn't put my finger on…

So, I continued to follow her through the crowd, though we did get kinda far from the others. I hoped that maybe Alexandra had said something by then in case something did happen…

Then, she stopped.

I actually slammed into her, not seeing her stop so suddenly. She barely looked back at me, which I muttered a quick excuse me and hurried around her. I had to act fast so she wouldn't suspect me!

I looked quick and just barely noticed her staring ahead past a few people before her to where a young couple seemed to be. A husband, a wife, and their cute little toddler in their arms. They were watching the parade so happily.

And that's when I felt the lady's feelings intensify. That strange feeling I couldn't place got stronger, so potent that it hurt even. I hurried to step away from her and closer to the family. I had to be there to make sure they would be okay.

"A baby! He's so cute!"

The cry I let out got the attention of the father who looked down at me. I tried to be put on my best cute face when I walked up to them. While the father seemed surprised, the mother was overjoyed at the comment and kneeled down with her toddler to be more at eye level with me.

"Why hello there, Sweetie!" She beamed at me. "Thank you for the comment. You're very cute too!"

"Thank you!" I gushed, keeping my facial attention on them, but magically paying attention to the woman behind me. I couldn't feel her moving yet at the time… I hoped I was wrong… "He looks a lot like my little brother when he was that little! His eyes even look like his!"

"Oh how sweet! You're little brother must be adorable!"

"All of them are! My little brother and sisters and my twin! There all cute!" I then let my gaze cast over to the husband who still looked at me in shock. I changed my tone to seem more apologetic and swung on my ankles back and forth a bit. "I'm sorry… you all just looked so happy like my family I wanted to say something…"

"Oh! No, no, it's okay there, sweetheart." The husband sigh and showed me a tired smile. "Sorry about that. I just wasn't expecting a sweet little girl like you to say such nice things to us."

"Right!?" The wife chimed in happily before standing up with her little one. He was still so surprised by all the sounds and movement around him, I'm sure he wasn't sure what to focus on. The mother then began to look around. "Say did you family come with you to the parade? I hope you don't mind, I'd love to meet the parents of such a lovely girl-"

But the woman stopped talking. Her eyes caught something behind us and her eyes met the woman's that I followed there. Those feelings of that quiet woman hadn't changed, in fact, they were overwhelming in those moments that I had to pull some of my sensory chains back for a moment.

"Susie?"

The mother's words only seemed to make the other woman more agitated. She grinded her teeth, her face was barely seen from under the hood. Her hands seemed to grip something in her pocket.

I knew it!

"Get back!" I was suddenly grabbed and yanked backward. I was actually not expecting that and yelped. The husband pulled me behind me along with his wife and son just as the deranged looking woman changed. The toddler screeched out, wailing loudly. Out of the attacker's hoodie came a knife that had been stashed in there all the time.

"You took everything from me!"

Others screamed as she raced forward to attack the man standing in the way. Her knife just made contact with his when my chains reacted. He barely got a scratch before the weapon was bounced off. Her eyes widened, though her grip was still tightly on the weapon. She tried to come again for another swing, however that time my chain wrapped around her arm. I carefully restrained her as other chains began to wrap around her body.

"I knew you were a bad lady." I pouted at her. "Why would your hurt such a nice family?"

"Give them back!" The woman screamed at the couple, ignoring me entirely as she attempted to thrash against the chains that bound her. "Give me back my husband and son!"

"There not yours!" The mother shouted back. "Susie! You need help! Please! Let someone help you!"

"Arial!" I head shouting behind me as the officers around came in closer. "Everyone stay back! Kid!? Are you alright?!"

"Captain? I have her under control." I turned my head back, but kept glancing back to make sure my chains were holding her tightly. "She can't hurt anyone right now, but you should restrain her. My magic is still… not great, and I don't want her getting away or me hurting her. She looks like she needs medical help."

"Holy shit…"

"Is this what the magic of the houses looks like?"

"Damn… the kid is good…"

I watched Alexandra's uncle look me over carefully before giving me a nod. "Thank you, Arial. Can you pull her hands together? We'll restrain her. And I'm assuming you'd like to press charges?"

He spoke to the family who were just to the side. The woman shook behind her husband, but the man stared ahead with a determined body language.

"Yes."

"What?!" The wife cried out in disbelief. "But Oscar-"

"She's not getting help on her own. We have to do this to get her away from us, and our son." The husband pleaded with his wife. "Look at what she would have done if it wasn't for this amazing little angel looking out for us?"

The wife carefully looked around with weary eyes. She looked toward the woman who attacked her, then to the officers taking her from me to handcuff, then to me.

"Miss? She has these really bad feelings. Like anger, hatred… jealousy? I noticed it back toward the police cars and followed her over here." I pointed out where I'd been originally before making my way to them, which actually was quite a distance when I noticed it. "I can try to ask my mom look into this? Try to get her help? Mom knows a lot of people here that maybe could help her, but you need help too. What if she hurt your cute baby? She almost really hurt your husband."

The woman looked back to her husband. I saw her gaze settle on the small cut he had and then to her baby. Susie, or whoever she was, was already restrained by the police. Though that woman still snapped at the officers who were trying to get her into a cruiser while she kicked at them, sobbing while she did so.

"…okay."

"Yay!" With the woman gone, my chains had faded and I hurried over to the husband and her. "Let me heal you too then! And when I get home, I can talk to my mom if she can help that lady."

"Thanks, sweetheart." My hair was ruffled by the husband while he carefully held his arm before me. Healing magic was a lot easier to use then my chains, but I was getting better at it! His cut healed in no time. The wife still struggled to calm her little boy, but she still smiled at me. Tears were flowing down her face.

"Do you think I could meet your parents?"

"Really?" I blinked at her in confusion. "I can ask Mom if she's free. She's watching my siblings while doing paperwork I think."

"I would really love to." She smiled and I felt such a sincere happiness from her that made me so happy.

There was no way Mom could get mad at me!

Later that Evening:

"Thank you so much for having us! And thank you again for the assistance with my sister!" The woman once again thanked my mother as they were heading out the door of our home at sunset. Dinner would soon be upon us and my siblings were running around the home in their fun with Dad while Mom was bidding the young family I saved good-bye with me.

"It was no trouble." Mom shook the hands of the husband and wife while showing a warm smile. "I'll see to getting in contact with you once I hear from my acquaintances. With it being the early week, I should hear something within a reasonable about of time."

"We appreciate it." The husband then looked over at me with a bright smile, relief in his features after all that had been talked about between them all and the arrest of that crazy lady. "And thank you again for your help Arial."

I couldn't help from giggling. "It was no big deal! I hope I can help more people in the future!"

"And I bet you will. Have a good night."

And with that the door was gently shut. My mother and I watched the family go into their car and prepare their vehicle to go home. Once they left out the drive my mother sighed.

"You did an amazing thing today, baby bone. I think that means I need to up you're training with Aunt Undyne."

"Really?!" I beamed at my mother. "I can train more?!"

"After your grounding, of course."

"WHAT?!" I couldn't believe it! I knew my jaw hit the floor when I shouted at her. "Why am I grounded?!"

I saw that narrowed look in her eyes and I flinched under them. "Don't think that the captain didn't tell me about that dozen of donuts you ate today."

"What? But I thought I only have five?"

"Even if it was five, that was still too much, but no, you ate the entire box." My mother's red eyes captured me while I stood under their rough gaze. Though it softened moments later. "It would have been worse had you not done what you did today. I'll only make it a week."

"Really?!" I shot forward to hug my mother's waist. "Thanks Mom!"

"But no magic until the end of the week, and no video games. Am I understood?"

"Yes Mom…"

At least it was just a week. I needed up my game and get stronger if I wanted to do anything for a job in this world that revolved around protecting people…

Witch's Note:

Oh boy! What a difference people? Who loved watching little Arial solve a very scary mystery with her magic and then get punished for eating too many donuts? That sounds like something the daughter of Angel and Sans would do to me! It was so fun to write her as she grew older, and now we get to see hopefully more of the siblings as well!

But it is great to see how they already are developing and how the family gets along with the kids. Angel is still just as loving and stern as ever. Especially since Arial is now at the age where Frisk started at in the beginning of our very first story! Arial is eleven in this chapter, Frisk had been twelve back then.

But I've rambled on long enough, let's work on some reviews!

Thechaosmaster: The track record is pretty horrible isn't it? Think about it! Great, amazing, Victoria Terians has twins herself, her David and Richard back in the day. Poor Cynthia struggled to have her kids and they were almost ten years apart, roughly about eight. Now we have Angel who had two sets of twins and two single kids, total of six. Then we have Frisk who has triplets on the way/born now. Damn...

Man, this has been crazy... and there could be more of the multiples in the DNA if we asked about it far enough back, but even I don't know the history beyond that of our dearest grandmama.

But your moving out?! That's awesome! So happy to hear it, Chaos! You certainly are moving out sooner than I did. It was kinda weird for me. I moved in with my grandfather to help him while in school and saved up money, then went back with my mom for a year, and then moved in with Jager last fall.

Those feelings are very normal to feel, it was like that for me and Jager too. And I'm sure your beloved captain will say something similar.

Mystic Girl: In my own words, I know this feeling as well. I've been moved out of my parents' house for six to seven years. Its scary at first but it gets easier as you go one, and best of luck in the new place! You'll do great.

MysticBoywastaken: (The review has been removed from being received by Halloween Witch and Mystic Girl and still the countdown is counting down still. There's a faint red hue as the timer continues, but barely is seen. The only other thing you notice is the link for the blank email is now gone. The codes you have put in have been accepted.)

(Now you just have to wait...)

(DO YOU REALLY WANT TO DO THIS?)

Shadow8Phantom: Yes! We are DONE having kids over here! At least for the time being. We gotta give poor Angel and Sans a serious break! I think they single handedly saved their families from dying out for a few centuries or more...

But you're right, Undertale was a story of actions and consequences. That doesn't change, something good normally is good, but the same could be said about there being a small chance of it being bad, and vice versa. Every action will have some kind of reaction. We just don't know what.

It's a bit early to know if there are any traitors, but we'll see I suppose... And for the silver eyes comment, if you're talking about RWBY, I totally know what you mean! I friggin love that show! Currently very excited for the next season!

But there we go! Another chapter done and more to come! Less than thirty chapters left folks... man it's going by too fast! We'll be done before we know it... and this story should go to some time in July... I'll try to get us an exact date to let you guys know and prepare.

But otherwise, love you and see you next time!
