Dante must team up with I.M.P to destroy Mundus and the C.D (Corrupted Demons) that kills humans and normal demons. This story starts during and after the events of Helluva Boss.

Area: Stolas's Mansion

Inside the mansion, Dante, Loona, Moxxie, Millie, Lady Luck, Stolas and Octavia magic appeared in the main hall.

MOXXIE:

That was quick.

LADY LUCK:

Wow! Your mansion is huge, Your Highness.

STOLAS:

Let's get Via to her room, now.

Stolas grabbed and lifted Octavia up, then he, his nephew and his friends went upstairs. In the bedroom, Octavia was lying in her bed. She opened her eyes slowly and looked happy when she saw Dante.

OCTAVIA:

Dante!

Octavia got up, then she and Dante hugged each other.

OCTAVIA:

I've missed you so much.

DANTE:

I know.

Octavia saw her dad, Moxxie, Millie, Lady Luck and she looked surprised when she saw Loona.

OCTAVIA:

Loona?

LOONA:

Hey, sis.

Octavia looked a little scared.

OCTAVIA:

Wait. I need to make sure. When did we first met?

LOONA:

At the palace, fourteen years ago. I saw you playing Dead Rising and you found the last boss very hard to beat. So, I showed you how to beat him on my phone and you were happy when you completed the game. That's how we became friends. Before I saw you again at the living world.

Octavia looked happy.

OCTAVIA:

That's right! You remembered! My uncle was right. When she remembers Dante, she'll remember me. Thank God for that!

Octavia looked around and realised she was in her bedroom.

OCTAVIA:

Why am I in my room? What's going on?

Stolas calmed his daughter down.

STOLAS:

Calm down, Via. You were unconscious. We saw your uncle threw you out through the portal. Why would he do that?

OCTAVIA:

That's not Uncle Sparda. It's Vergil. He killed him.

Everyone looked shocked.

STOLAS, LOONA, MOXXIE, MILLIE (Unison):

WHAT?!

DANTE:

My Dad is dead?!

LADY LUCK:

Oh, shit! That's not good!

DANTE:

How did this happen?

OCTAIVA:

Well, you dad and I were at his old castle after went to L.A back at the living world. We were looking at the stars.

(Flashback Sequence)

Location: The Living World

Area: The Ruins of the Castle of Sparda

Octavia and Sparda were outside at the campfire site that Sparda made. They were looking at the stars.

SPARDA:

Looks beautiful, doesn't it?

Octavia looked sad, while she was getting her pack of cigarettes out of her backpack.

OCTAVIA:

Yeah. It's not the same as the Azathhoth's tears that dad showed me. But as least there's no smog here.

Octavia put a cigarette in her mouth, then she snapped her fingers to make a flame and light it. She took a drag from her cigarette and exhaled.

SPARDA:

When'd you started smoking?

OCTAVIA:

Recently.

Octavia sighed.

OCTAVIA:

Loona and I were like sisters before you took her back to the Adoption Center, and then I saw her again when she found me at the observatory. She didn't mention Dante and the good times we had. So, I'd acted like we've just met until she gets her memories back. After my parents got divorced, my dad and Blitzo were together for two years and I've got used to it, until Blitzo left my dad because he found out that you are my dad's brother, and I'm not allowed to see or contact Loona again. Why does he hate you and Dante?

Sparda looked sad as well.

SPARDA:

I don't know. Maybe is because he's jealous. Or maybe he doesn't give a shit. But I know Moxxie and Millie doesn't hate us because they're good friends with my son and Loona.

OCTAVIA:

I know. You've already told me that. The only reason why I didn't want to go Dante's birthday because I know Loona won't be there and my mum is planning to have Dante's child. I've read her diary last year and I couldn't tell you when I ran away to your house in L.A. That would explain why she hates my dad so much. And my uncle Andrealphus, he only wants to fuck Dante.

Octavia took another drag on her cigarette and exhaled.

SPARDA:

Via, your mother has a serious problem, and having Dante's kid won't fix it. And Andrealphus, he's just being a dick. But Loona is already at the party with my son, along with Moxxie and Millie. And I think they really wanted you to come.

OCTAVIA:

She doesn't really remember me.

SPARDA:

She does. When Loona picked up my son's scent, she remembers everything in her life, including, me, your dad and you. Before you've met her again at the observatory.

Octavia put her cigarette out and looked at Sparda.

OCTAVIA:

She remembers me?

SPARDA:

Of course, she does. Which is why I come up with an important decision. You and your dad are gonna move in with me and my son, tonight.

Octavia looked surprised.

OCTAVIA:

Really?

SPARDA:

Yes. You weren't ready before, but now you are.

Octavia smiled and hugged her uncle, happily.

OCTAVIA (Happily):

Thank you, Uncle Sparda! This is what I always wanted!

Octavia looked worried as she let go of her uncle.

OCTAVIA:

Wait. If I move in with you, that means I have to give up the throne.

SPARDA:

That's right. But this will be better for you and your dad. Trust me.

Sparda took his smartphone out from his pocket.

SPARDA:

I'm gonna call Vortex to get Daniel.

OCTAVIA (Happily):

My human uncle?

SPARDA:

Yes. He's been thinking about you a lot.

Sparda dialled his phone and talked to Vortex.

SPARDA:

Hello, Vortex? It's Sparda. Would you go to the living world and pick up Daniel for me? Yes, he's in my mansion in L.A. I know. Dante will be so happy, and Via. I'll see you at my brother's palace. Bye.

Sparda hung up his phone and turned to Octavia.

SPARDA:

He's going to get Daniel and he's coming to live with us.

OCTAVIA:

This is getting better and better.

SPARDA:

Since you're in a good mood, I got this for you.

Sparda gave Octavia a video game and she was surprised when she looked at it.

OCTAVIA:

Resident Evil 2 & 3: Raccoon City Edition! This is what I always wanted!

SPARDA:

These games are the remade versions. So, they are different than the originals.

OCTAVIA:

I know what that means. Thanks, Uncle.

SPARDA:

You're welcome, Via. Well, come on. Let's get back to Hell and wait for Dante.

As they about to leave, Sparda and Octavia saw a dark portal appeared behind them. Octavia looked scared.

OCTAVIA:

What was that?

Sparda stood in front of his niece and took out his Yamato sword.

SPARDA:

Via, stand behind me.

Sparda and Octavia saw Vergil appeared from the portal.

OCTAVIA:

Oh, my God! It's that...

SPARDA:

Vergil!

Vergil made an evil smile.

VERGIL:

Hello, Father. It's been a long time.

SPARDA:

What do you want?

VERGIL:

I've come to retrieve my power.

SPARDA:

Well, you're never going to get Dante's.

VERGIL:

I wasn't planning to, yet. I want yours.

SPARDA:

No. I can't give it to you, Vergil. I've chosen your brother because I know he'll do the right thing. You are too corrupted and you will never have my power.

Vergil looked angry, but calm.

VERGIL:

All right, father. If you won't give it me, willingly.

Vergil took out his katana.

VERGIL:

I'll have to take it, by force.

Sparda looked turned to Octavia.

SPARDA:

Via, go hide somewhere.

OCTAVIA:

But, Uncle.

SPARDA:

As the oldest member of the Sparda family, I have to end this. Now go!

OCTAVIA:

Okay.

When Octavia hid behind the broken water fountain, Sparda turned to his corrupted son.

SPARDA:

I don't want to do this, my son. But you will pay for what you did to your mother.

VERGIL:

I don't give a shit what you just said to me, father.

Vergil and Sparda changed into their demon forms, then they charged at each other and clashed their swords together. Octavia was watching them fighting while hiding behind the broken water fountain. After a long battle, Vergil cut his dad's hand off with his katana, grabbed the Yamato sword and plunged it through Sparda's body. Octavia looked shocked.

OCTAVIA:

No!

All Sparda's powers came out of his body and flow into the Yamato sword. Sparda and Vergil changed back to his human forms. Sparda looked weak and Vergil looked happy when he saw his dad's powers glowing in the Yamato sword, which he is holding. Vergil walked up to his dad and bent down on one knee.

VERGIL:

You're nothing but a weak human now, father. With your power, I can enter Hell and release Mundus's power.

SPARDA (Weakly):

You'll never take his place!

VERGIL:

Oh, I will. And Dante will never protect the living world and Hell.

Sparda looked angry.

SPARDA (Weakly):

You're grounded!

Sparda spat on Vergil's face. Vergil looked furious, while he wiped the spit off his face with hand and he got up from one knee.

VERGIL:

That's what you're gonna be, for all eternity. There's only one Sparda!

Vergil cut his dad's head off with the Yamato sword and Octavia screamed.

OCTAVIA (Screaming):

NOOOOO!

Vergil held the Yamato sword into the air and plunged it through his body. Sparda's powers flow into Vergil's body and transformed into his father's demon form, but corrupted. Vergil looked at his reflection in his dad's blood on the ground.

VERGIL (Demonic Voice):

Finally! I have the power of Sparda! I can go to Hell, kill my brother and fuck Verosika everyday! But first...

Vergil ran up, speedily, grabbed Octavia by the neck and lifted her up. Octavia was struggling, while Vergil smiled at her.

VERGIL (Demonic Voice):

Hello, cousin. Like my new look? A spitting image of your uncle.

OCTAVIA (Choking):

You're nothing like him! You killed him and my aunt, you son of a bitch!

VERGIL (Demonic Voice):

And now I'm gonna kill you!

Vergil's smartphone was ringing and he looked frustrated while he took it out of his pocket and answered it.

VERGIL (Demonic Voice):

What? Yeah, I've killed him and I got his power. What? Mundus got her? She is? All right. I'll let her live for now. Thank you.

Vergil hung up his phone and looked at Octavia.

VERGIL (Demonic Voice):

It turns out I can't kill you. You're also important to my master, but it's not yet your time. Besides, it's my birthday and I don't want you to miss my brother's party, which I'm know I'm invited.

Vergil opened the dark portal to Hell behind him.

VERGIL (Demonic Voice):

Enjoy Hell while you can, Via. Soon, it will be mine!

Vergil threw Octavia through the portal and smiled, evilly when he saw Dante.

(Present Sequence)

Location: Pride Ring, Hell

Area: Stolas's Mansion

Back in Octavia's bedroom, Dante, his friends and uncle looked shocked.

DANTE:

So, Vergil has my dad's powers?

OCTAVIA:

Yes. And he said to me I'm important to his master. I don't know what he meant by that.

LADY LUCK:

She's talking about my dad.

Octavia looked at Lady Luck.

OCTAVIA:

Who are you?

Lady Luck introduced herself to Octavia.

LADY LUCK:

Hey, Via. My name's Lady Luck. I'm the Djinn of the orb, and Mundus's daughter.

Octavia gasped, until Stolas calmed her down.

STOLAS:

No, Via. It's all right. She's one of us.

DANTE:

Mundus treated her like a slave, until Dad saved her, before we were born.

Octavia looked happy.

OCTAVIA:

Oh, yeah. You've told me about her five years ago.

DANTE:

That's right.

Millie interrupted Dante and Octavia.

MILLIE:

All right, all right! Let's get back to Vergil. If he has his dad's powers and his sword...

MOXXIE:

That means he'll get to Hell...

LOONA:

And find Mundus's powers and release it.

STOLAS:

He'll properly start looking for it in my palace.

DANTE:

Uncle, do you know where you've hid Mundus's powers?

STOLAS:

It's somewhere in the basement. But I haven't been there for a long time.

DANTE:

Well, you better go get it before.

Everyone heard some footsteps.

OCTAVIA:

What was that?

LOONA:

Vergil?

DANTE:

Stand back, guys. I'll handle this.

Dante stood in front of his friends and family and took out his Rebellion. As the door opened, Vortex appeared and looked confused when he saw Dante holding his sword.

VORTEX:

Dante?

Dante felt relieved, as he put his sword away.

DANTE:

Oh. It's you, Tex. What are you doing here?

VORTEX:

Your dad told me to come here, and I brought someone who wants to see you.

Daniel Dollarbill, Sparda's human butler entered Octavia's bedroom and saw Dante.

DANIEL DOLLARBILL:

Evening, Master Dante. Happy Birthday.

Dante looked happy.

DANTE:

Daniel!

Octavia saw Daniel, then she got out of bed, ran up to Daniel and happily hugged him.

OCTAVIA (Happily):

Uncle Daniel!

DANIEL DOLLARBILL:

Little Via. It's so nice to see you again.

OCTAVIA:

I'm so glad you're here.

DANIEL DOLLARBILL:

And I'm so glad Vergil didn't kill you.

Dante introduced Daniel to Loona.

DANTE:

Daniel, this my girlfriend, Loona. Loona, this is Daniel Dollarbill, my dad's butler.

LOONA:

Hey, Daniel.

Loona whispered to Dante.

LOONA (Whispering):

Is he the one who played Alfred in Batman and Robin?

DANTE:

Yes.

DANIEL DOLLARBILL:

So, she's the dream hellhound you were telling me about. Nice to meet you, Miss Loona.

Daniel held Loona's hand and kissed it. Loona looked blushed.

LOONA:

He's such a gentleman.

Moxxie and Millie walked up to Daniel.

MOXXIE:

Hi, Mr. Dollarbill. I'm Moxxie, and this is my wife, Millie.

MILLIE:

Howdy, Daniel.

DANIEL DOLLARBILL:

I know who you two are. I've seen your boss's commercial, and I'm impressed of your skills.

Moxxie and Millie looked happy.

MOXXIE:

Thanks.

STOLAS:

It's good to see you again, Daniel.

DANIEL DOLLARBILL:

And you too, Prince Stolas.

Daniel saw Lady Luck.

DANIEL DOLLARBILL:

Lady Luck. Still granting wishes for Master Dante?

LADY LUCK:

As always, Mr. Dollarbill. I already grant him two for his birthday.

Daniel looked at Dante.

DANIEL DOLLARBILL:

Well, that explains his new look. It really suits you, Master Dante.

DANTE:

Thanks, Daniel.

Vortex walked up to Dante.

VORTEX:

Dante, we heard about your dad. Everyone in Hell has been talking about it. His soul has already been sent to Heaven.

Dante looked happy.

DANTE:

He has? That's great! I can go see him and my mum...

Dante turned to his friends and family, and he looked sad.

DANTE:

But it won't be fair for my friends, my girlfriend, my uncle and cousin because they live in Hell. I can't see them, yet.

VORTEX:

I know, and I understand your decision. Your dad was always there for you, but now you're in charge of Devil May Cry. That's why I quit working with Verosika, and I'll start working with you as a weapons expert. That's what my dad would've wanted.

Dante put his hand on Vortex's shoulder.

DANTE:

And I know he'll be proud of you.

Vortex smiled, then Dante turned to Stolas and Octavia.

DANTE:

Uncle. Via. Pack your things. You're gonna move in with me, right now.

STOLAS:

But that will take too long, Dante. Your brother might get here before we leave.

LOONA:

Your uncle's got a point there.

Dante was thinking, then he had an idea.

DANTE:

I got it! I'll just wish Lady Luck to move their things to my house.

LADY LUCK:

You've just read my mind, Dan.

DANTE:

Uncle Stolas, you need to get Mundus's powers before I use my wish.

STOLAS:

I will, nephew. I'll be right back.

After Stolas left the room, Loona looked turned to Octavia.

LOONA:

Did you start smoking because you've missed me?

Octavia smiled.

OCTAVIA:

Yes.

Octavia shook her head.

OCTAVIA:

But wait. Where's my mum?

Dante walked up to Octavia.

DANTE:

Via. There's something you should know. Your mum has been taken by Mundus.

Octavia looked sad.

OCTAVIA:

I know she hates my dad so much, but I never want her to be taken by Mundus. He could kill her.

DANTE:

Don't say that, Via. I will find her and save her. I don't know how, but I will.

In the palace basement, Stolas used his magic to opened the safe. Inside the safe was Mundus's powers inside a dark orb. Stolas slowly picked up the orb and looked at it.

STOLAS:

Over twenty years I've guarded his powers, but now Vergil will be after it. I promise I won't let that happen, brother.

Stolas put the dark orb in a small treasure chest and sealed it with a padlock. Back in the bedroom, Dante, his friends, Octavia and Daniel were waiting. Stolas opened the door and entered the room, while carrying the small treasure chest.

STOLAS:

I got it. I put it in this chest.

DANTE:

A treasure chest?

STOLAS:

Yes. Blitzy and I used to play Pirates and...

Dante noticed that his uncle looked sad.

DANTE:

It's okay. I understand.

LADY LUCK:

So, you're ready to make a wish, Master?

Dante turned to Lady Luck.

DANTE:

Yes, I am. Lady Luck, I wish for you to expanded my house, so, they'll be enough room for my friends, my uncle, my cousin and Daniel. And bring all my uncle's and my cousin's stuff, and us to my house, Paradise.

Lady Luck felt excited.

LADY LUCK:

All right, Baby! Third birthday wish, coming right up! Hang on to your ass and tities!

Lady Luck used her magic and everyone in the room disappeared.

Location: Imp City

Area: Paradise (Sparda's Summer House)

The entire house expanded, then Dante, his friends and family appeared in the living room.

MOXXIE:

Where are we now?

DANTE:

We're in my dad's summer house. He calls it, Paradise.

Loona looked around the room.

LOONA:

But it all looks the same.

LADY LUCK:

Not quite.

Lady Luck used her magic to reveal a hologram version of the outside and inside of the house.

LADY LUCK:

As you can see, the outside of the house has four windows instead of two.

MOXXIE:

It looks like the mansion from the very first Resident Evil video game.

DANTE:

It's does look like it.

LADY LUCK:

But the inside of the house does look the same, except the rooms I've installed. Prince Stolas and Octavia's rooms look identical to the one's they have in their palace. There's Moxxie and Millie's room. There's Vortex's. Daniel's. And of course, there's also my room. But the garden and the training room are the same, and I forget to install one for you, Loona.

LOONA:

That's okay, Lady. I like to share a room with Dante.

Lady Luck looked surprised.

LADY LUCK:

Woooo! I bet you'll get nasty, you two.

DANTE:

Hey, watch it!

Lady Luck laughed.

LADY LUCK:

I'm just fucking with you, Dan.

Mrs. Mayberry saw Dante and walked up to him.

MRS. MAYBERRY:

Dante.

Dante saw Mrs. Mayberry.

DANTE:

Matilda.

MRS. MAYBERRY:

I've just heard about your dad. I'm so sorry.

Mrs. Mayberry hugged Dante.

MRS. MAYBERRY:

Are you okay?

Dante looked sad.

DANTE:

I'm fine. It's just... I...

Dante started to cry and Mrs. Mayberry felt sorry for him as she put her hand on his shoulder.

MRS. MAYBERRY:

Oh, Dante. I know. But it shouldn't be painful to you. You can visit your parents in Heaven. God will allow it.

DANTE (Crying):

I'm not crying about that, Matilda!

MRS. MAYBERRY:

Then, what's wrong?

DANTE (Crying):

It's just that Dad told me when he's gone, I have to be in charge of Devil May Cry and I promised him I'll keep my uncle and Via safe. I mean I can keep that promise, but being the leader, I can't. I'm scared that I'll fuck things up. I'm scared of losing you guys. And I'm also scared... of being alone.

Stolas looked shocked as he walked up to his nephew.

STOLAS:

Dante, how long have you been scared?

Dante dried his tears, but still looked sad.

DANTE:

Since I was a kid. I've never told my parents, my brother and Daniel.

STOLAS:

Why didn't you tell me? I know how it feels like to be alone.

Loona looked sad as well.

LOONA:

Because he told me.

Everyone looked at Loona as she walked up to Dante and held his hands.

LOONA:

Dante, I don't think your dad meant you have to kill Mundus alone.

VORTEX:

And you can't be a leader without your friends.

DANIEL DOLLARBILL:

And family.

MOXXIE:

We'll always fight by your side.

MILLIE:

That's right.

DANTE:

So, that's why my dad wanted you guys to sign his contract.

MRS. MAYBERRY:

He was doing what's best for you.

LOONA:

And he believes you can do this. I believe you will.

DANTE:

Why?

Loona smiled.

LOONA:

Because I love you, devil boy.

Loona kissed Dante on the lips.

DANTE:

And I love you too, bitch.

Dante saw a tear coming out of Loona's left eye until she rubbed it off with her hand.

LOONA:

I better not cry.

DANTE:

But it's okay to cry.

LOONA:

No, I mean if my dad sees me crying, he'll find out about us.

Dante understood Loona.

DANTE:

Oh, I see. I better take you home.

LOONA:

It's okay. I'll do it.

Loona held on to Vergil's amulet.

LOONA:

My bedroom.

A portal magically appeared and Loona saw her bedroom, then she looked at Dante.

LOONA:

See ya around.

After Loona went through the portal, it disappeared.

MILLIE:

Well, we better get home, too.

MOXXIE:

What? What about the pizza?

MILLIE (Firmly):

Moxxie! He just lost his dad! Show some respect!

DANTE:

It's okay, guys. We'll have pizza some other time. Let me get you home.

Dante held on to his amulet.

DANTE:

Moxxie and Millie's apartment.

Another portal opened, and Moxxie and Millie saw their apartment room.

MOXXIE:

Thanks, Dante.

DANTE:

Don't mention it.

After Moxxie and Millie went through the portal, it vanished. Daniel turned to Dante.

DANIEL DOLLARBILL:

What should we do now, Master Dante?

DANTE:

Would you please show my uncle, Via and my friends to their rooms, please, Daniel. I wanna be alone.

DANIEL DOLLARBILL:

Yes, sir. This way, everyone.

While Stolas, Octavia, Vortex and Lady Luck followed Daniel, Mrs. Mayberry went to the kitchen, while Dante went to sit on the couch, took out his smartphone and was looking at the picture of him, Loona and Sparda. Dante looked sad.

DANTE:

Don't worry dad. I'll protect the Living World and Hell for you. I promise.

Dante and Blitzo narrated the ending.

DANTE (Narrator):

It been a sad day for me. Vergil killed my dad, he got his powers and his sword, now my uncle, my cousin, Vortex, Lady Luck and my human butler, Daniel are living with me in my dad's house, which is my house. But at least he's in Heaven with my mum. See you at next mission: Snake in the Goetia.

BLITZO (Narrator):

I can't believe your dad's dead. That's makes me very sad. NOT!

Dante sighed.

DANTE (Narrator):

I'll see you soon, Dad. I love you. Goodbye.

(End of Mission 08)
