Ghost Spider and Doctor Strange listened to Crazdel's horrifying account with growing anger and frustration. The Ghost Spider couldn't contain their outrage at the unethical actions that had led to such a catastrophic situation. .
Their anger had reached a boiling point, fueled by the horrifying account of Crazdel Octavius's actions. With a visceral surge of rage, they delivered a vicious haymaker that struck Crazdel squarely in the face, breaking their nose and causing blood to flow. Steven Strange reacted swiftly, intervening to restrain Ghost Spider before the situation escalated further.
Crazdel Octavius felt blood dribble from their nose, and they felt the cartilage break. "Oh great. No thank you for that! Like I wasn't injured enough!"
Ghost Spider's voice was laced with anger as they chastised Crazdel. "What the hell is your problem?!" They yelled letting their anger bubble to the surface. "You've done some messed up shit Ock, but this is absolutely unforgivable! You and Adam Watcher will pay for this! That poor boy didn't deserve that..."
Taking a step back, Ghost Spider needed a moment to regain their composure, haunted by the new ghosts that had formed since the explosion.
Doctor Strange's eyes blazed with anger as he added, "Your reckless experiments and Adam Watcher's heartless decisions have unleashed chaos upon Starcrown. Luckily for everyone else, myself and the Ghost Spider are bonafide problem solvers and we'll find a way to stop this beast, and quickly."
"If you're looking for thanks, I have none to give Strange!"
In the distance a roar echoed through the city, followed by the sounds of destruction and mayhem. Ghost Spider and Doctor Strange exchanged grim looks, their anger fueling their determination.
Steven turned to Doctor Octavius, "Stay put!"
Crazdel's response was laced with frustration. "What the hell else am I going to do? I'm injured and stuck to a damned wall!" Their guilt weighed heavily on them, a constant reminder of their role in this unfolding catastrophe.
Doctor Strange began to conjure a mystic portal, a swirling vortex of energy that would transport them to the heart of the chaos. "We need to find a way to subdue that creature and curb the damage it's causing," He said, his voice resolute. They both stepped through the portal.
Ghost Spider and Doctor Strange emerged from the mystical portal, only to be met with the devastating sight of the colossal, mutated creature rampaging through Starcrown. Buildings crumbled in its wake, and the very streets seemed to shake beneath its monstrous feet. Remarkably, it appeared that the creature was not directly targeting the people, but the destruction it caused was catastrophic nonetheless.
"Shit," Steven saw the damage that the creature was causing.
"We don't have time to get cold feet, c'mon Stoney!" Ghost Spider leapt into action, followed by Steven.
Without wasting a moment, Ghost Spider and Doctor Strange leaped into action. Ghost Spider's webbing shot forth, attempting to ensnare the creature and slow its movements. Doctor Strange summoned his mystical energies, attempting to cast restraining spells that would subdue the behemoth. However, their combined efforts initially proved to be in vain, as the creature's sheer power and rage overwhelmed them.
The beast threw both of them around before they both landed away from the raging and rampaging beast.
Ghost Spider groaned as they got up and bugged out when they saw that the beast had locked their attention onto them. "Oh crap!" They grabbed a dazed Stoney and shot web towards a building and swung out of there. Away from the fleeing populace and drawing the beast after them.
Steven groaned as they stirred awake, swinging under the free arm of Ghost Spider. "What happened?"
Ghost Spider swung through Starcrown, "The big Greenie threw us off, but good news it's no longer wrecking Starcrown!"
Stoney looked behind them at the hulking green menace that was chasing after them. "That's because it's chasing us!"
"Shut up Stoney! It's hard enough to web swing one handed, carrying you as I swing for our lives!" Ghost Spider yelled, panicking as they circled the destroyed block, with the beast chasing after them.
"I got an idea!" Stoney said, he waved his hands and muttered an incantation. "I need you to web up its eyes! I need just a split second!
"Gotcha!" The Ghost Spider turned around and shot a direct hit right into the creature's eyes.
The beast fell to the ground to try and rid the web from its eyes.
"Get to an alleyway," Steven directed as he cast an illusion spell that was a duplicate of Ghost Spider and Steven swinging away.
They both retreated into an alleyway, just as the beast got rid of the webbing on its face and gave chase after the illusionary duplicates.
They both leaned against the alleyway wall and caught their breath. Alex took his mask and panted, "What the fuck?!"
Steven chortled, "Yeah, this ain't going to be easy."
Taking a moment to regain their composure, Alex realized they needed to assess the situation and formulate a new plan. "Okay, we bought ourselves some time. Now, how do we deal with that thing?"
Steven, considered their options. "We need a way to subdue it, to incapacitate it somehow. It's too powerful to take down in a straight fight."
Ghost Spider nodded in agreement. "Agreed, and we should minimize collateral damage as much as possible. There's already enough destruction in this borough."
Doctor Strange snapped his fingers, a spark of inspiration in his eyes. "I have an idea. We need to use its aggression against it. That creature is driven by rage and instinct. If we can lure it into a trap or a situation where it exhausts itself, we might have a chance."
Ghost Spider tilted their head, intrigued by the suggestion. "Exhaustion? I'm game, but how do we manage that?"
Steven began outlining his plan, gesturing with his hands as he spoke. "I'll head back to the Mysterium and create a forcefield that will sap that creature's energy away with every hit, and in turn will strengthen the forcefield against it."
Alex nodded in agreement. "That could work. I'll stay here and keep an eye on the creature, make sure it doesn't wander off too far." They put their mask back on.
Steven nodded, appreciating the support. "Good. While I work on the forcefield, you'll need to keep its attention. Don't engage directly if you can avoid it. We don't want you getting hurt."
Alex smirked beneath their mask. "Don't worry about me, I can handle it. Just make sure that your forcefield is strong."
Steven also tapped the side of their neck, putting a small enchantment on the side of the mask, "Touch here to get into contact with me, I'll be listening in while I'm getting everything set up."
The Ghost Spider nodded, "Thanks Stoney, just don't take too long!"
Steven nodded, opened a portal and made his way back into the Mystic Mysterium.
This left the Ghost Spider alone to deal with the boy turned creature. They leapt up and started swinging after the beast. All they had to do was to follow the roars.
As Alexr swung through the destruction-riddled streets of Starcrown, they kept a vigilant eye on the hulking creature ahead. The roars echoed through the city, guiding their pursuit. With Steven working on the forcefield, Ghost Spider's role was crucial in keeping the creature from leaving the borough.
Ghost Spider saw that the beast had caught up to the illusions and promptly smashed them into nothingness. "Well, that's horrifying." Alex quipped. They stuck to the rooftops while looking down on the beast.
The creature, driven by rage and aggression, was about to continue its relentless assault on the borough of Starcrown. Ghost Spider knew they had to maintain the creature's fixation while ensuring they didn't get caught in its destructive path.
They created a ball made up of web and chucked it at the creature's head.
It was a direct hit. The creature looked unfazed, but then looked dead at The Ghost Spider. It's rage filled eyes, the whites of its eyes replaced with sheer red, burned a hole straight into them.
The Ghost Spider sheepishly waved at it, "What's up Greenie?"
The beast launched itself up the building, giving the Ghost Spider a split second to jump off and continue swinging around.
Using their agility and web-slinging skills, Alex led the creature on a high-speed chase, weaving through narrow alleys and open streets. They occasionally fired webbing at the creature, not to harm it, but to taunt and provoke it further, ensuring its unwavering pursuit.
The creature's relentless pursuit continued, and Alex's tactics seemed to keep its focus squarely on them. It bulldozed through the city, driven by its primal rage and the desire to reach Ghost Spider.
As Ghost Spider swung through the cityscape, they couldn't help but feel the weight of the situation. Buildings crumbled in the creature's wake, and the very streets trembled beneath its monstrous feet.
Despite the perilous circumstances, Ghost Spider maintained their composure, determined to keep the creature contained within the borough. They continued to lead the chase, making quick maneuvers and using their web-slinging skills to keep the beast engaged.
The creature's fury burned brightly in its eyes, and it showed no sign of relenting. Ghost Spider knew that they needed to persist in their efforts until Doctor Strange could complete the forcefield and turn the tide of this destructive rampage.
"Alex!" Steven Strange's voice was heard in The Ghost Spider's head.
"Stoney?! Is it set?" Ghost Spider asked their friend as they swung through Starcrown.
"Yes, I'm setting a portal down on the road across from the emergence point," Steven explained.
Alex nodded, their heart racing with anticipation. "Good, I'll lead it there. Be ready!"
The Ghost Spider continued to lead the rampaging creature through the borough. Strategically guiding it toward the designated location. The roars of the creature echoed through the streets as it pursued its relentless prey.
As they approached the portal's location, Alex shot a series of web lines, creating a barricade that slowed down the creature's advance. The beast roared in frustration, its red-rage-filled eyes fixed on Ghost Spider, who taunted it with agile acrobatics and well-timed web attacks.
The portal created by Doctor Strange shimmered with mystic energy, ready to receive the creature and implement the forcefield. The Ghost Spider knew that timing would be crucial, and they needed to ensure the creature was lured into the trap.
With a final, daring maneuver, Alexr swung towards the portal, narrowly avoiding the creature's massive claws. The beast, driven by its anger, charged after Ghost Spider and lunged at them just as they dived through the portal.
In the blink of an eye, the creature found itself on the other side of the portal, within the prepared forcefield. The portal closed and the forcefield enclosed itself around the beast. It roared in frustration and began to attack the invisible barrier with all its might. It pounded and punched and kicked the forcefield.
Doctor Strange, on the other side, channeled his mystical energies into the forcefield. With each attack the creature made, it unwittingly fed its energy into the forcefield, weakening itself in the process.
The Ghost Spider stood at a safe distance, watching as the plan unfolded. The creature's rage continued to fuel its relentless assault on the forcefield, while Steven Strange's plan worked to drain its energy and strength.
The creature's attacks grew weaker, it howled in anger as it channeled its anger towards the forcefield, further draining its strength..
With one final, desperate roar, the creature collapsed to the ground, completely drained of energy. Its once-ferocious rage had been quelled, and it now lay defeated within the forcefield.
Steven Strange fell over and collapsed on the ground of the Mysterium.
Alex took off their mask and fell onto the ground beside Steven. They panted as they caught their breath, "I better get my own spread on the newspaper after this!"
Steven chuckled, "What about those hit pieces in the Daily Trumpet?"
Alex leaned up and looked at Steven, "Oh those don't count! J. Jameson Johannesburg has had it out for me for ages!"
Steven laughed, and soon Alex started laughing along with his friend, but they soon stopped until they heard the beast groaning.
They both got up and witnessed the beast start to transform, and seconds later, it had regressed back into the boy that Octavius had told them about.
Alex walked over to the forcefield, "Stoney, bring it down."
"Are you sure?" He asked his friend.
Alex nodded, "He's out cold."
Steven did as Alex asked and slowly let the forcefield down. With a flash it was down, and Alex slowly approached the boy.
Alex saw that the boy was no older than nine. His long black hair was matted and unkempt, he smelt horrible as if he had not taken a bath in ages, but what Alex noticed above everything was the scars on the boy's body.
The weight of the situation bore down on them. The scars that marred the child's body were a stark reminder of the unimaginable suffering he must have endured. Tears welled up in Alex's eye as they knelt beside the boy, their heart aching for the innocence that had been stolen from him.
They gently brushed a strand of the boy's unkempt hair from his face, their voice trembling with emotion as they whispered, "You're safe now. We're here to help you."
Doctor Strange, having recovered from the exertion of maintaining the forcefield, joined Alex at the boy's side. He placed a comforting hand on Alex's shoulder, silently acknowledging the pain they both felt.
"I will not stop until Octavius and Watcher are rotting in a dark dungeon for this Stoney," They vowed.
"I agree Alex, they went too far for this, and will pay dearly," Steven crossed his arms. "However, the boy can't stay here."
Alex looked back at his friend incredulously, "How could you say such a thing?!" They shot up to speak with Steven.
"Alex, to ensure the boy receives the care, and support he needs after what he endured. We have to make sure nobody will try to come for him, and for that reason he can't stay here."
Alex knew what Stoney meant. "You're in the public eye…"
"If Crazdal or Watcher try to make a move to reclaim him, they will eventually come here. So, for the time being, take him to your place." Steven went to his closet and got a satchel. "Here."
Alex took the satchel, "What's in here?"
"Enough food and supplies for about a month. You'll need to lay low, don't leave your place for anything! There should be enough silver in there to cover your rent in case your landlord comes by."
Alex knew how serious Steven was taking this, and they were thankful for that. Alex put the satchel on, and gently picked the boy up.
"When I'm absolutely certain that the coast is clear, I'll come for you and the boy and we will go from there. Until then, make sure the boy does not leave your place. Watcher can afford to have eyes everywhere."
Alex nodded as Steven opened a portal to their bungalow. Holding the fragile child close as they stepped through the portal. Upon crossing the threshold, Alex said his farewells to Steven for the time being. The portal closed and their immediate focus shifted to providing the young victim with the love, care, and support he needed to begin the process of healing from the nightmarish ordeal he had endured.
Alex took the boy over to the gigantic bed his fathers gave to him, and gently placed the boy on top of it. As the young boy lay on the enormous bed in Alex's bungalow, Alex couldn't help but feel a deep sense of responsibility and empathy for him.
They knew that this child had endured unimaginable suffering, and it was now their duty to provide him with the comfort and care he so desperately needed.
