Chapter 1 - Near the breaking

The rooftop was bathed in the dim glow of the city lights, casting long shadows over Izuku's figure as he stood near the edge, gazing into the street below from the rooftop he was on, it wasn't the largest but wasn't the smallest, he would surely die if he jumped He knew he would. The night air clung to him, a tangible weight on his shoulder. His heart thudded painfully in his chest, echoing the harsh words that still rung in his head.

"All Might was right. . . I can't be a hero without a Quirk," Izuku muttered, his voice barely audible over the distant hum of the city. The conversation with his idol replayed in his mind like a cruel mantra. The symbol of peace had shattered his dreams, and Kaachan's taunts had only fueled the fire of despair.

The city below bustled with life even at night, he had snuck out while his mom was asleep and used the fire escape to get up here no one saw him as he walked up here. Tears welled in Izuku's eyes as he clutched the railing, a desperate plea for answers echoing in his mind. 'Why me? Why am I Quirkless?'

All he truly wanted was a friend, someone he could talk to. He wanted to be a hero but he couldn't. He just wanted atleast a friend but he hadn't even gotten that. Sighing he slid down on his knees he couldn't do it. If he did his mother would be sad and he couldn't do that plus their would be investigation then and who knows what would happen to Kaachan then.

In the midst of his anquish, a strange sensation tingled in his hands. Confused, he opened his palms to find a small, mysterious device Materializing within felt warm against his skin, a stark contrast to the cold despair that he was feeling.

The device emitted a soft glow, drawing Izuku's attention away from his thoughts. As he examined it, a silver egg was on the screen, as he looked at it it seemed to emerge into a small egg floating above the device about the size of a chicken egg, the glow from the egg drew Izuku to it.

His mind raced now what the hell was happening he was Quirk less he had been tested and everything. Before he could think more a voice echoed in his head, gentle and soft and it sounded young almost like a child just learning to talk.

"You're not"

As his hands was holding the device the egg went back into the device, He clutched it close to his chest and then the glow died and it dissapeared? Izuku's eyes widened as he was about to freak out he could feel it come back out. He could summon the device and unsummon it.

Clutching the mysterious device in his hands, Izuku stood on the rooftop, the city below humming with its distant activities. He heard the voice again. "Izuku trust in the light within you," the voice said again as Izuku wiped his tears away.

On his way, Izuku summoned the device and noticed a name on the screen he hadn't seen before: learned he could check things; the egg itself seemed to tell him about the status of the egg. It seemed like it was warm and shaking every now and then. Izuku didn't know why he could summon the egg, but it gave him the feeling of The next screen was simply strange. It showed five items he couldn't read. He wasn't sure what they were for; it just seemed to be an empty screen otherwise. The third screen was truly empty with nothing on it. Going over it again showed the egg screen again.

Izuku finally made it back home. As he was going to try and sneak in, he saw her standing and waiting for him. "Izuku! What are you doing? Don't you know what time it is? Where have you been? You haven't become a delinquent, have you? Where were you?"

"No, no, Mom, I am not. I am just, I needed to clear my head. I am sorry I scared you, Mom." Inko sighed at her son. She had to be careful around him lately. She loved him more then anything but knew he was in a strange state after what had happened to him. "Mom, uhm, Something did happen to me. I think I have a quirk.

"You have a what?" Inko said surprised, "I thought the doctor said?"

"Just watch mom." Izuku said as he focused on the warm feeling from earlier and just like that he had summoned the device and from the device pulled out the egg. "I know its not much but,"

"MY SON HAS A QUIRK!" She yelled hugging him close as he yelped as she swing him around in excitement she was doing this his device began to glow brightly as they stopped the egg came out and began to shine.

AS it died down now their was a small silver creatre with what looked like to be lightning bolts made out of metal for eyeballs, a black tail that seemed to spark at the end with red eyes. Inko blinked as it only came up to her ankle as the creature zipped over to Izuku hidding in his clothes as Izuku laughed and spoke.

Or you what was in the egg? Do I have a sentient Quirk?"
