Chapter 13

Frobo

The group were on a small cart pulled by the Plantars' snail, Bessie. Hop-Pop was driving them somewhere. After a while, they reached their destination.

The Seed Store.

"Oh come on," Polly whined before turning to Marcy and Matt. "Come on, you two. We don't have to go into the boring…"

Polly was cut short by Marcy's rambling. "This is so cool! A store just for seeds? We could be there for hours. The humble seed. So much potential for growth."

"One of the rare things in life where you actually get out what you put in," Hop-Pop added. "It's beautiful."

"There are some things about you I'll never understand, Marcy," Matt muttered.

"Oh, come on," said Marcy. "It'll be fun."

Marcy grabbed Matt by the wrist and carried him with her and Hop-Pop to the seed store.

After a bit of shopping, Marcy, Matt, and Hop-Pop walked out of the seed store with a lot of seeds.

"I can't believe I actually enjoyed this," Matt admitted.

"See, I told you it'd be fun," Marcy replied.

That's when the four saw something crazy in front of them.

"What in tarnation!?" Hop-Pop shouted.

In front of them, Anne, Aaron, Sprig, and Polly were standing in the middle of a damaged town, and there was a silver robot in front of them. It had a simple design. It had a frog head, big silver shoulder pads, and a strange symbol on its chest.

"Hey, Hop-Pop," Polly greeted as if everything was normal.

"Oh my gosh, is that a robot?!" Matt and Marcy shouted in unison.

They tossed their bags aside, knocking down Hop-Pop in the process, and they ran towards the robot.

The two examined the robot.

"Where did it come from?" asked Marcy.

"What is it made of?" Matt added.

"Can we have one?" the two asked in unison.

"What's a robot?" Hop-Pop and Aaron asked in unison.

"Too hard to explain," Anne replied.

"I know this is a lot to take in," said Polly. "But can we please keep him? I'll be his big sister. I'm ready to take care of someone."

"I'm not sure," Hop-Pop replied. "He looks dangerous and, can he do anything useful?"

"Show him, Frobo!" Polly told the robot.

"Frobo" managed to dig up some dirt, insert some seeds, build a small fence around it, and water the seeds. Flowers grew in a mere instant.

Hop-Pop was instantly impressed. "Welcome to the family, Frobo! Can you do anything else?"

Toast instantly popped out of Frobo's head. This impressed everyone in the area.

Marcy and Hop-Pop each took a piece of toast and tried a bite.

"Hey, Marcy, are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Matt asked Marcy.

"Oh yeah," Marcy replied.

The next morning, Marcy and Matt were in the Plantar household planning to examine Frobo. Thankfully, Anne and the Plantars were out of the house. Something about helping Toadstool with something, neither Matt or Marcy cared cause they were busy with their own task.

First thing they did was see if Frobo had an "allergic reaction". They grabbed some pillow feathers and tickled Frobo where the nose would be. It sneezed, sort of. At the same time, a ton of smoke came out from where its butt would be. The nerds assumed it was how this robot farts.

"This is very interesting," Matt remarked.

Marcy took notes in her journal.

"I got an idea," said Matt. He found an apple in the fridge and attached it to his head. He turned to the robot. "Shoot this."

The robot seemed to understand Matt. He instantly activated a laser cannon and shot the apple. Some hair follicles burned off Matt's head, but it's no biggie.

What was a biggie, however, was that the laser burned a hole in the wall.

Matt and Marcy looked at the hole. On the other side, they saw a bedroom. Marcy noticed something on top of the shelf. It was a plushie. It took the appearance of a dog-demon looking creature with black fur, a white skull and horns, and yellow eyes.

"Hey, Frobo," she called out to Frobo. "Think you can grab that toy?"

Frobo saw the toy on the top of the high shelf. It was no problem for him though. He stretched out his arm and grabbed the toy, though sadly, he destroyed the shelf in the process.

That's when they heard the door open. Anne and the Plantars had come back from whatever they were doing earlier. They came into the house to see a hole in the wall and a broken shelf in one of the bedrooms, which just so happened to be Hop-Pop's. To put it lightly, Hop-Pop was not happy about that.

"I want this cleaned up by morning!" he snapped.

Matt and Marcy were instantly intimidated by this, and they saluted to signify they understand.

Frobo instantly got to work without anyone having to say anything. He quickly used what was left of the shelf to seal the hole in the wall.

Needless to say, everyone in the room was impressed.

A.N.

This is an original chapter where Marcy and Matt studied Frobo based on that one scene in "Toad to Redemption" where it's said Marcy was busy doing that. I saw a lot of potential and decided to utilize it.

I decided to include a King plush Easter Egg like how the Owl House includes a Sprig plush Easter Egg.

That's all I have to say.
