Author's Notes: Well, this is the second chapter of "Dinosaur Fighters". From the next chapter onward, there will no longer be any chapters featuring the D-Team, since this story is about my Self-insert protagonist and his friends (meaning, it is NOT a retelling of Dinosaur King). I just wanted to tell the first two episodes from my protagonist's POV to build something from the original show. I hope you guys understand.
Chapter 2: Battle at the Pyramids
[Kalundborg, Denmark]
(Daniel's POV)
The next day was something less eventful. I was doing the usual; going to school without Tyrunt, then return home having learned some more lessons from the teachers. It was a long day, since I was in school for six hours. Hopefully my friends had it more eventful than me.
Once I returned back to my house, I was greeted by an excited Tyrunt, who wagged his tail like a good who got his owner home. "It was 'bout time, bro!" he said, tail still wagging. "I was beginning to think you'd never come home from school."
I chuckled. Ever since he came into my parents, and my life, he learned something about human culture and events, such as historic wars in the past. He also knows what school was, since I usually left there each morning.
"Have you been behaving?" I asked him.
Tyrunt nodded. "Aside from Mrs. Clausen wants me to go shopping, nothing's been exciting, so I just dozed off in bed."
"In that case," I smiled. "Let us go and see what Dad's up to."
My dinosaur nodded and we took the bicycle towards the Fighter Lab at the outskirts of Kalundborg.
(Christian's POV)
After a whole lots of digging, and receiving the Utahraptor card and its stone, I was finally returning home to Kalundborg, where I am sure Daniel is waiting for me to get to the Fighter Lab as soon as possible.
Utah was currently in his chibi form, sitting on my lap as we were in the car, which Dad was driving on the road. Let's just say that Utah was curious about everything. "What's that?" he pointed a claw to a power plant.
"It's a power plant," I answered. "It's where our energy is being produced."
Utah blinked. "You can produce energy? We didn't have anything like that."
"That's because you were born in the prehistoric era, Utah," I explained. "There wasn't any human-made products back then."
"Oh, that explains it," he said.
We were looking out the window while Dad still drove towards Kalundborg. The blue sky was still filled with clouds like the other day, and the clouds were gray, with some of them a bit darker. This indicated that rain will soon arrive.
"Well, here we are!" Dad announced, parking the car at the Fighter Lab's parking lot.
Utah and I exited the car.
"Are you sure you'll be fine here for a few hours?" Dad asked.
"Yes," I nodded. "Daniel's probably here already." I pointed to his red and silver colored bicycle.
"Good. Take care, son." Dad waved before driving away from the laboratory.
(Daniel's POV)
I was waiting on Christian to arrive, with Tyrunt by my side as we watched some television. A reporter was informing about a dinosaur appearing in Egypt, near the pyramids. It was a Spinosaurus, which could easily be seen by its small upward spine on its back.
"Sorry, we're late!"
Both Sarah and I looked over to Christian, who stood with his Utahraptor beside him. "Good to see you've arrived, Christian," Sarah spoke. "There's a dinosaur that has appeared in Egypt."
"Egypt?"
"Near the pyramids," I explained. "If it isn't stopped and recovered, it could cause some serious damage to the structures."
Tyrunt walked up to Utah, who smiled happily upon seeing a fellow dinosaur. "So, you're Utah, the Utahraptor we saw at the mining site?"
"That's me," Utah nodded. "Is there something wrong with the Spinosaurus at those structures?"
"It just appeared, from a card most likely," Tyrunt said.
"Are the four of you ready?" Sarah asked.
"We sure are!" We all nodded.
"Then get ready for transportation."
We ran up to the transporter. When we did, my Dad came in. "Wait, is there a new dinosaur that's appeared?!" he called out in shock. "Which one, and where?!"
"Egypt, and it's a Spinosaurus," I told him. "We're off."
"Wait, take me with—"
We were gone before he could finish his sentence.
[Egypt, near the Pyramids]
We reappeared near one of the pyramids in the desert. I looked around to find the Spinosaurus looking tired from fighting a Tyrannosaurus. It looked familiar.
"It's the same Tyrannosaurus from before!" I realized.
"From before?" Christian wondered. "Have you two fought it at one point?"
"Yeah, in Sanjo City, Japan," Tyrunt explained. "It was in possession of the Alpha Gang. If that T-Rex is here, then they're not far behind."
"Exactly right!" A voice called down from a purple colored plane. "And you'd better not think that we're going to give you that Spinosaurus, kid!"
"It's the old lady!" I spoke.
"What did you say?" Ursula's voice demanded. "I am NOT an OLD LADY! Terry, forget the Spinosaurus, get that kid!"
I tensed as the Tyrannosaurus named Terry looked at us. "Ready?" I asked Tyrunt.
"Do you even need to ask?" he smirked. "Time for some fighting!"
"Are you with us, Utah?" Christian asked his dinosaur.
"I am, partner!" Utah nodded.
"GO!" We called out.
"Dino Slash!" I swiped Tyrunt's card in my Dino Gauntlet. "Tyrannosaurus, roar!"
"Dino Slash! Wind's up, Utahraptor!" Christian added after swiping his dinosaur's card in his Dino Gauntlet, which he had received from his father, most likely.
Our dinosaurs reappeared, full-sized, in front of Terry, who looked between them.
Just then, I spotted a flash of light as Max appeared with Chomp. "Max?"
"Huh? Daniel? What are you doing here?" Max asked.
"Never mind that, get Chomp ready for battle!" I called towards him.
"Right!" He nodded. He turned Chomp into a card. "Dino Slash!" He swiped his dinosaur's card in his Dinoholder. "Triceratops, roar!"
Chomp reappeared, full-sized, between our dinosaurs.
Terry backed away.
"You three got some nerves outnumbering Terry!" Ursula's angry voice told us. "Terry, get the Spinosaurus first! Then take care of that Triceratops!"
Terry roared and began attacking the exhausted Spinosaurus.
"Tyrunt, assist the Spinosaurus!" I ordered.
"On it!" Tyrunt roared, running towards Terry and headbutted the dinosaur. He then roared at his enemy, with Terry roared in response.
"UGH!" Ursula groaned loudly. "So unfair!"
"You're villains," I reminded her loudly.
"He's got a point," Ed's voice agreed.
"Never mind that!" Ursula shouted. "Terry, Volcanic Burst! Defeat that Tyrannosaurus!"
"No way!" I countered, choosing Tyrunt's Move Card from the card slot. "Volcanic Fire!"
Both Tyrunt and Terry roared at each other, unleashing their flames towards the other, but Tyrunt jumped to the side, avoiding the Volcanic Burst. Terry, on the other hand, was hit and hurt badly.
"WHAT?!" Ursula yelled in surprise.
I looked over to Max. "Now! Finish them!"
"Right!" Max nodded, pressing a button on his Dinoholder. "Electric Charge."
"Oh no, you don't!" Ursula shouted down to us. "Terry, smash him!"
Terry stomped in front of Max, causing him to drop his Move Card. "Oh no, my Move Card!"
"Utah, help him!" Christian ordered.
"On my way!" Utah nodded.
Suddenly, two flashes of blue and green lights appeared, with Rex and Zoe appearing beside Max.
"Rex? Zoe?" Max wondered.
"Are you ready, Zoe?" Rex asked her.
"Oh, yeah!" she responded.
"Dino Slash! Carnotaurus, blow them away!"
"Dino Slash! Parasaurolophus, bloom!"
Two dinosaurs appeared in front of Terry, who backed further away from them in surprise.
"We are going to the Spinosaurus!" I told Christian.
"Yeah!" he agreed.
Tyrunt and Utah roared and charged at the Spinosaurus, which managed to land a tail smash attack on Utah, while Tyrunt moved to the side.
Meanwhile, Rex called out, "Cyclone!"
A tornado came down around the Carnotaurus and surrounded it, before the Carnotaurus charged at Terry, sending the Tyrannosaurus away by the tail.
"Head Charge!" I called out, swiping Tyrunt's Move Card in the Dino Gauntlet.
Tyrunt charged towards the Spinosaurus, headbutting it and sent it flying. Thus it returned back to its card.
"Electric Charge!" Max declared, swiping his Move Card in the Dinoholder.
Chomp was surrounded by electricity and charged at Terry, sending the T-Rex crashing into a structure of the pyramids. Afterward, Terry returned to its card.
"Yeah! We won!" I cheered loudly.
Our dinosaurs roared in victory.
I spotted the Spinosaurus card not far from where I was standing, then went over to try and pick it up, when a metallic claw took it from my reaching hand. "Hey!"
The figures laughed. "Terry might have lost , but he's my loser." Ursula removed the bandages from her body.
"Look, you guys! It's the old lady!" Zoe pointed.
"What did you say?" Ursula demanded, with Ed and Zander chuckling, but she elbowed them on the heads. "Listen here, you two! I am not old, and there's a difference between old and experienced!"
"Oops, sorry," Zoe apologized. "I thought they meant the same thing."
"Really?" Ursula sneered. "Well, then you might thin twice before—"
Tyrunt roared in her face when he appeared seemingly out of nowhere in front of them.
They screamed in fright. Then Ursula kicked the camel, when it ran backwards. "Where are you going?!"
"The wrong way!" Ed and Zander called out.
"They keep getting weirder," Max noted.
"Yeah," I agreed.
Soon, we formed a circle, with Rex swiping his card the opposite way of his Dinoholder. "Hey, guys? Wanna meet Ace?"
The chibi form of the Carnotaurus appeared.
"It's the perfect name for him, plus he's my first dinosaur," Rex told us.
"And this is Paris," Zoe added, introducing us to her Parasauolophus.
"So, why did you go with that?" Max asked.
"Well, she's a Parasaurolophus, but Paris is a much cuter name," Zoe replied.
"Cool!" Max smiled.
"This is Tyrunt," I introduced my dinosaur to theirs. "He's a bit with his ways for fights, but he's kind, too."
Tyrunt bowed to Ace and Paris. "Nice to meet you."
"And last, but not least, this is Utah the Utahraptor," Christian introduced. "He's my first dinosaur, too, and Utah is the name I chose because it reminds me of his species."
"Wow!" Max smiled. "And this is Chomp. I have a feeling we all are going to be great friends, and team."
We agreed, although Christian and I were already a part of a dinosaur team.
"Oh, that's right! I forgot how to get back!" Max realized.
"It's in the manual," Rex explained. "We just press the button in reverse, and it will send us back."
"There's a manual to your Dinoholders?" I asked. "We didn't have any of the sort for our Dino Gauntlets."
"It was Reese's idea," Zoe replied. "She wanted to make sure we could get back and forth easily."
"Anyway," Rex spoke. "Can you guys believe it? We're really in Egypt." He looked around in amazement.
"Hey, I got an idea," Christian started.
[Fighter Laboratory]
(Jan's POV)
"What do you mean you're staying for a while?" I asked my son.
"Well," Daniel said, "since none of us have really been to Egypt before, I thought it'd be nice to experience the place with our own eyes. See ya."
"Wait!" I spoke too late, as the screen went black. "How come I never get any souvenirs?" I sighed, lowering my head in defeat.
