Author's Notes: While the D-Team might not be featured in some chapters for a while, the Alpha Gang surely will still be featured. I mean, they are the main villains of the show. So, it's only natural they'd be the secondary villains of this story, am I right?
Chapter 3: Of Noises and Dinosaurs
[Kalundborg]
It was nighttime. I was sleeping with Tyrunt, who was on the floor beside my bed. Suddenly I heard loud, construction drilling and noise outside on the road. I groaned, opening an eye. "This is too loud…couldn't they have chosen another place to construct something?"
"You know them, bro," Tyrunt grumbled, opening an eye to look at me. "They won't listen to our plea. They're doing as the commune tell them to do."
I moaned, putting my pillow over my head in an useless effort to cover the noise.
The next day, Tyrunt and I were at the table while Dad was walking, as happy as ever. "Wow, you two don't look so good," he commented.
"Thanks for the comment, Dad," I sighed, too tired to speak. "There was too much noise outside last night, Tyrunt and I couldn't sleep."
"Really?" Dad wondered, rubbing his chin. "I didn't hear a thing."
"What?" I immediately got onto my feet. "You mean you didn't hear that super loud construction noise that went on for hours?!"
"I guess not."
Tyrunt sighed. "You're clueless, Mr. Clausen."
"Why am I clueless?" Dad wanted to know.
"Maybe if you listened to what was going on, you'd feel the same as we do now," Tyrunt told him.
"Okay, you three, that's enough." Mom came out of the kitchen, a plate of food in her hands. "You should know to not start a fight just because something had happened."
I grumbled, as did Tyrunt.
As soon as breakfast was served, we began eating it. I was eating in silence, while Dad was looking at me with concern in his eyes. Tyrunt was eating his food in the dog plate silently.
"I wonder what's on TV?" Mom spoke, as she turned the television on.
I looked at it with a small sign of interest, as we noticed construction was happening in the central of Kalundborg as well. A big hole was in front of some construction machines, which made it impossible for the machines to reach their designated location. Just then, my Dino Gauntlet started beeping, when I stood and took it in my hand.
"Well?" Tyrunt asked, "what is it, bro?"
"A dinosaur," I realized. "Mom, we will be out for a moment."
"Okay, but stay away from the construction."
"I will!" I called, while I was taking my shoes on before going out with Tyrunt beside me. Once out, I went over to my bike and drove downtown.
[Kalundborg Centrum]
I was stopped by a car that were in front of me. "Whoa, I wonder what happened," I muttered to Tyrunt, who shrugged. Soon, I spotted a construction worker who was scratching his helmet in confusion. I approached him. "Excuse me, but what happened here?"
"I don't know," he said honestly. "But when we were digging on the road, there was this strange egg-like shape and from it, a dinosaur came! It's best to runaway while you can, kid."
I smiled reassuringly. "Don't worry. I will be fine. Can you tell me where it went?"
"That way," he pointed towards someplace in the centrum of the city.
"Thanks!" I said gratefully, then ran across the road. I looked down to my Dino Gauntlet and turned on its phone mode. "Christian, a dinosaur has appeared. Can you and Utah come as soon as possible?"
"Sure!" Christian nodded on the device screen. "We will be on our way."
I looked up, then stopped upon seeing someone standing in the midst of the road. She had a reddish Chinese dress with yellow stripes, and her black hair was long. Her blue eyes looked directly into mine. "What do you want? Can't you see I am busy?"
"Are you Daniel Clausen?" Her voice was demanding, yet soft.
"That's me."
Tyrunt looked at me. "Careful, bro. Don't give your name out to strangers," he whispered.
The girl glanced down at him. "Is that your dinosaur?"
"He's my dog," I replied.
"Hmph," she huffed. "A dog, you say? Looks more like a Tyrannosaurus than a dog, if you ask me. So…" She pulled up a Dino Gauntlet and held a card with the image of a Velociraptor. "Shall we dance?"
I looked around to find any way out of the current situation. Seeing none, I gave up with a sigh and held up my Dino Gauntlet on my wrist. "Let's go, Tyrunt."
"Got it! A battle it is, then!" Tyrunt said, excitement in his previously tired voice.
He was turned into a card, as I swiped it in the Dino Gauntlet. "Dino Slash! Tyrannosaurus, roar!"
"Velociraptor, speed ahead!" called the girl.
A gray scaled Velociraptor was in front of Tyrunt, who appeared in full-size and roared loudly. The Battlefield was around us as the sky turned into different colors.
People in the area looked panic-stricken and ran away for their lives from seeing two full-sized dinosaurs.
"Go, Tyrunt!" I ordered.
Tyrunt roared and ran up to the Velociraptor, which jumped above his tail after he attempted an attack. The Velociraptor got onto his back. "Get down from there!" he growled irritably, trying to bite after the smaller dinosaur.
"We're in the middle of looking for a dinosaur, can you go away?" I asked the girl.
"No can do." She shook her head. "I am not letting my master's name be humiliated by you, brat."
I blinked. "Master?"
"You're so clueless," the girl sighed annoyingly.
Something clicked in me, while Tyrunt was biting after the Velociraptor from his back. Finally, he managed to crash into a building and shook the Velociraptor off of him.
"No hitchhiking on me!" Tyrunt snapped at the small dinosaur, which seemed to laugh at him. "Did it just laugh at me?!" he growled.
"Yes, she did," the girl nodded.
"Tyrunt, try and not lose control," I told him. "We shall take care of it with a Move Card."
He looked at me. "Are you sure? We could end up damaging the area."
I hesitated, when I had his Volcanic Fire Move Card almost ready to be used.
"You should listen to your T-Rex," the human girl added. "Would you damage the area, just for the sake of winning? What about the other people living in those houses?"
I was now concerned. She's right, I realized. I would end up burning their houses and have them hate me from the damage I would cause. I lowered the Move Card, while the female Velociraptor jumped onto Tyrunt's back again, annoying him once more.
"Get off of me!" Tyrunt demanded the Velociraptor. "You forsaken raptor!"
The Velociraptor cackled, biting into his scales. He roared in pain.
"Daniel, use the Move Card!" Tyrunt looked at me with an eye, as if begging for me to use it.
"But…" I started.
"Don't worry about the houses," Tyrunt continued. "Just do it!"
I looked at the woman in determination. "Listen, I don't know who you are, but since you came in our way of finding the wild dinosaur, then I've got no choice but to win over your Velociraptor. Tyrunt, let's go!" I swiped his Move Card in the Dino Gauntlet. "Volcanic Fire!"
"Finally!" He called out, smacking the Velociraptor away with his tail, then firing the flames from his mouth, which hit the Velociraptor and carded it.
"How did—" the woman was surprised.
Tyrunt returned to his card and I made him into his chibi form again. "Let's go!" I told him, and he nodded.
We ran across the road, past the woman, who called, "Why did you do it?"
I briefly stopped. "All I care about is my friends' safety." Then I resumed the run with Tyrunt.
[Later]
After a bit of a stall, we managed to find the dinosaur. It was an Ankylosaurus which was causing damage to the construction machines, bashing them with its club tail. People were running, screaming out loud while the sounders went off.
I noticed something. The Ankylosaurus was shaking his head in despair. I realized it must've been asleep, then the people interrupted it by using loud sound devices. "You guys, you gotta stop! The noise is driving it wild!" I spoke up.
No one listened. The noise grew louder.
I held my head, groaning as painful as the Ankylosaurus was having it. "Man, how I wish Christian was here…"
"Did you call me?" Lo and behold, he arrived beside me!
"Wow, Daniel," Utah commented. "You sure don't look good."
"You look as if you were in pain," Christian added.
"That's because he is!" Tyrunt grunted. "This noise is louder than from last night!" His voice was high, because the noises grew only even louder while the Ankylosaurus was done having it.
The Ankylosaurus roared. It reared up, stomping the ground with its frontpaws. The earth was shattering apart with spikes coming from the rift.
"Whoa!" Utah cried out. "What move was that?"
"Earth Shatter," I moaned, finally calmed down after the noise stopped.
"Huh, nice move," Utah stated.
"Anyway," Christian sighed. "Let's get the show on the road!"
"Yeah!" I nodded in agreement.
"Hold it right there, you brats!"
We looked over to find the Alpha Gang in the area. "What are the three of you doing here?!" I demanded them.
"Well, funny thing is, we came here to take that Ankylosaurus and stop its rampage through the city," Zander replied.
"Which means, we will also take your dinosaurs while we're at it," Ursula finished. "Alpha Slash!"
We braced ourselves while the Tyrannosaurus, Terry, arrived in full-size and roared at us.
"Is that all you got?" Christian asked.
"I accept that challenge," Ursula smiled. "Ed? Zander?"
"Alpha Slash!" The two men declared.
A Saichania and the same Spinosaurus from the other day arrived in full-size.
"Three against two is not fair!" Tyrunt told them.
"We're villains, we can do whatever we want!" Ursula stuck her tongue at him, causing him to be fumed in anger at her.
"Let's go, bro!" Tyrunt spoke to me. "I wanna give her a piece of my mind."
"You got it, pal," I nodded. I turned him into his card, swiping it in the Dino Gauntlet. "Dino Slash! Tyrannosaurus, roar!"
"Dino Slash! Utahraptor, wind's up!" Christian added.
Our dinosaurs appeared in full-size and roared at the Alpha Gang's dinosaurs. People stopped what they were doing, and ran off, screaming.
Tyrunt roared loudly, charging at Terry, head low. He bashed into the enemy Tyrannosaurus with full force, sending Terry into a building.
"Get up, Terry!" Ursula demanded. "Don't let the brat beat you!"
Terry roared and ran towards Tyrunt, tail smacking him in the head, but Tyrunt ducked under the last tail attack.
"Go!" I called out. "Head Charge!" I swiped his Move Card in the Dino Gauntlet.
Tyrunt roared, glowing a yellowish aura before charging towards Terry with his head lowered, then bashing into Terry and sent him flying.
"Terry!" Ursula cried out.
"Go, Spiny!" Zander called out. "Defeat the brat's Tyrannosaurus!"
"You too, Tank!" Ed added.
Tyrunt looked between the two enemies, having a hard chance of choosing whom to attack. Then the Ankylosaurus joined the fight and tail smacked into the Spinosaurus' head.
"Wow, he just saved Tyrunt," I commented.
Christian whistled. "Not bad. Utah, get in there!"
"You got it, pal!" Utah nodded, speeding ahead into the battle. He jumped onto the Saichania's back and began stomping down on her, causing her to roar out in pain.
"Let's go!" We declared.
"Tornado Wind!" Christian called, swiping Utah's Move Card in his Dino Gauntlet. A tornado of wind surrounded Utah and he charged towards Spiny.
"Volcanic Fire!" I added. Flames spewed from Tyrunt's mouth towards the Saichania. The flames caused the Saichania to roar painfully and carded.
The Ankylosaurus reared up, stomping the ground, the earth shattering with a rift coming in the middle and moving towards the Tyrannosaurus whom struggled to get back up. Terry roared in pain, as the rift moved in and collided with Terry's body, carding him.
As for Utah, he was managing his own against the Spinosaurus, as he was throwing Spiny into a building with his mouth. This carded Spiny as well.
"Yes!" Christian and I cheered, while the dinosaurs roared victoriously.
The Alpha Gang retrieved their cards. "You brats are as annoying as those D-brats!" Ursula called to us in anger. "If you know what's good for you, you should stay away from our mission!"
"Hey, you three?"
"What?!" They yelled at me.
"Better look out," I smirked, pointing to the full sized dinos.
They screamed and ran for their lives after the dinosaurs roared at them.
Soon, the fight was cleared, and the Ankylosaurus bowed in thanks to us. I high-fived Christian, before our Dino Gauntlets glowed.
"Thank you."
We looked at the Ankylosaurus.
"You have saved me from those bad people. Please send me back to where I came from."
"We can do that," I nodded, pressing a button which turned the Ankylosaurus into his card. I picked it up, smiling.
[Clausen Residence]
(Christian's POV)
"So you mean to tell me that Daniel didn't get a good sleep last night?" I asked Dr. Clausen.
"Yes, he seemed very tired, as did Tyrunt," he clarified. "It was a good thing, though, with the Ankylosaurus."
"Yeah," I agreed. "I mean, after all that noise that scared it into a rampage, it needed someplace to be able to find peace and quiet."
"Keep it down, you two," Mrs. Clausen told us from the backyard doorway. "Daniel's still sleeping."
"Oh, we're sorry," I whispered.
Utah and I eventually came by Daniel's room and peeked inside. He was sleeping on his bed, Tyrunt and the Ankylosaurus he named Ankylo, close to him. I smiled, then silently closed the door.
