Chapter 31: Psychics VS Demons

Devil Jin takes on the offensive to fight Rhima which she tries to dodge his attacks. She remembers of how she was afraid of him when she pretends herself being an average woman as she thought.

I shouldn't became afraid of him. Since I didn't tell my dad about my personal ordeal with Jin's devil side. He only thinks of me being his live bait because he's a carnivore who eat humans.

Rhima eventually gets knocks out by one powerful Demon's Spear, knocking her into the distance. Devil Jin then flies and attempting to hit her with a powerful Hellfire Blast. To his surprise, Rhima is able to block his beam as her eyes becoming glowing blue due to the fact that her powers are uncontrollable like he was.

"How amusing... I ever seen you'd have the same power as mine." Devil Jin said amusing over Rhima's powers while in the air and soon tested her. "How about you dodge this!?"

Devil Jin executes his new Rage Art which is the Devil Dimensions: Tainted Chain by knocking her with his claw and throws her in the air and bounds her in red glowing chains created by him and the entire area becomes a dark dimension. He finally unleashed a powerful knife-blade on his right hand which was glowed in different shades of red and eventually slashes her, that burst into powerful red flames in explosion. To his surprise, Rhima is able to break free from the chains as the flames become in different shades of blue as she blocks the knife-blade he wields in both of her hands, enables her to absorb his devil powers.

"What!? How did she broke free from my tainted chains...?" Devil Jin said while being surprised to see Rhima is able to break free from his chains he had created.

"You've been a man eater long enough. I guess you didn't use that to beat your father and why you ended up getting overpowered so easily. Knowingly, that you can't win from him!" Rhima angrily stated as her eyes glowing blue as she lowers his sword forming a powerful aura blast to blast him away. Devil Jin was almost knocked away from the blast and seeing how powerful she is and they returned to the area they have been fighting.

Devil Jin was horribly surprised to see Rhima's powers and why she was able to absorb his powers. He closes his eyes. remembering that he possesses human self to fight his own father and was losing control of himself, leading him to get overpowered by him and blasting him with a powerful devil blaster. With this, he walks to confront her personally. Rhima continues to do her fighting stance and seeing him as a threat. To her shock, Devil Jin hugged her closely as his black feather wings remains flapping as both of their auras are combined into a shades of purple which was scattered all over the entire place which purifies the damage they had taken during the fight.

In the real world on the Keiya's former main base, the Time Machine finally activates due to their combined auras in a small amount of energy and scatters through the entire room and disappears.

Back in the World of Tekken, both of them revert back to their normal selves and Jin's closeness to Rhima was so strong even after they got separated for six months. He looked to see Rhima who finally overcame her fear of his devil form and knowing that she had passed his last test for her. He feels ashamed since he had lost to his father Kazuya in their deadly climatic bout at the deserted city of New York.

"Rhima-san... you did good."

"You seem pretty sad, Jin. Are you okay?" Rhima replies sadly as he response to her question.

"I'm all right... you finally overcame your fear on my devil side and I realized that it was the same blast that Mishima Kazuya had took on me."

Rhima realized that Lee was telling the truth and it was in fact that Jin had lost their deadly fight.

"So Mr. Lee... was right about you. You got overpowered in your fight with Mr. Mishima, isn't that right?"

Just as Jin would answer her, Reina immediately knocks him into the groin with a single kick, knocking him out. Jin stands up and faces her since he doesn't know much about her.

"Nanimonoda? (Who are you?)"

"Jin-senpai... It was my chance of fighting you." Reina stated eagerly to face him in battle until she faces Rhima. "Who would have thought that you had been chasing after this girl over there, she looks so new."

"Stop! Rhima-san had nothing to do with this!"

Reina checks on Rhima's appearance and was happy to see her as another version of her as she states.

"I like you and I love your hairstyle is kinda like me. I wish if I had a twin sister who looked like that."

"!"

"I wanted to ask you first...? Do you like Jin-senpai?"

Rhima was surprised when she asked her personally if she likes Jin so much, much to her chagrin. Jin angrily raises his brow because he knew that Rhima was special to him and nothing more. Seeing him got mad over Reina's presence and finally answers.

"I actually like him and we already got separated for six long months. It was a weird question you gave me and I answer it."

"Really?"

"I also don't know you too." Rhima said the same way as how Jin would say it to her. "The way you act on me it's like my aunt keeps asking me if I already had a boyfriend when I was still living in my single life."

That word makes Reina shock and surprise and to Jin's horrible shock on her answer. Suddenly a Combot's head was on the ground which Rhima had pointed out what it is causing it to blow up in a smoke. Jin sees this opportunity to make their escape, he covers his nose and mouth with his left hand and goes inside the smoke where he quickly drags Rhima away who is coughing in smoke. Reina also coughs in smoke until it clears to see them both had disappeared. Reina realizes that Rhima easily knows her secret as she had thought.

That girl had a smart mouth, no wonder Jin-senpai was very interested in her. She knows my secret too well by just one full sentence. Perhaps, I might tried to call her as smarty lady.

In the middle of the forest, both Jin and Rhima had rested after they make an escape on Reina which she thanked Jin for dragging her out.

"Thanks for dragging me out, I knew I went too far..."

"No, you're not. You just said something that she didn't want to hear." Jin said pointing out about her words.

"Oh... you mean about my aunt at the apartment we had stayed."

"It's not just that, Rhima-san... I might not know about her but I think she might be my family relative of some kind. Although, she studies at Mishima Polytechnic like me and Xiao had attended and she had started to go after me for a fight." Jin stated about Reina until Lee shows up to see them both.

"I'm glad that both of you are okay. After I threw one of my newest product to make the both of you get out from that girl."

"That Combot's head you had thrown was a smoke grenade. I guess your products had different ingredients on it. Technological genius indeed." Rhima easily pointed out of Lee's explosives which he amuses her high intelligence.

"I love your high intellect, Rhima-san... And think I want to tell you something between you and Jin."

"What was it?"

"That purple aura that scatters all over the place must be from the both of you." Lee said sensing that both were responsible for their combined powers. "This must be the reason Hunyo had sent Rhima here to restore the link between both of our worlds and if both of your powers are combined despite how destructive it was, it can restore the link and we might able to travel in the real world."

"Now I finally understand that I was the key to her mission after all." Jin said as he looked at Rhima in a smirk only for Lee to tell him in a smug.

"If only if you and Rhima are completely in sync with each other, this might restore the link. But since you had briefly in sync with her, that means the restoration of the link was too short because of the small amount of both of your combined powers."

"..."

"By the way, I let Alisa to go back to the UN main headquarters to inform Lars to take us back." Lee said informing them both about Alisa went back to UN to tell Lars and Rhima finally asking Jin once more.

"Now that no more interruptions... Mr. Lee told me everything that you got overpowered and lost to Mr. Mishima in that chaotic fight. Is that right, Jin?"

"..."

"You don't have to feel ashamed, Jin. I knew you didn't told your friends about that ordeal. Since Rhima-san was here, you must tell her now. Besides, you're the only person can tell her the whole thing."

Jin looked at Rhima and Lee with a sad look on his face as he closes his eyes and finally speaks to both of them.

"All right... I had no other choice. I already told her about how me and Mishima Kazuya had fought. I already overpowered him the most but not realizing he had been toying me this whole time, pretending that he was badly hurt from my beatings."

"..."

"Forgive me, Rhima-san... I just wanted to tell you the whole thing happened in our fight between us but I couldn't tell you more of it because I feel so ashamed to myself because of my current loss." Jin said sadly apologizes to her which she convinces him.

"It's all right, Jin... you can tell me now."

Jin gives her a half-smile because of his liking to her and Lee states.

"It's much like we had stayed at Hunyo's house for a very long conversation indeed."

Trivia:

*When Devil Jin attacks Rhima in the offensive, some of his moves are his new moves in the game and the last one ends in Three-Ring Circus.

*Devil Jin finally demonstrates his new Rage Art towards Rhima during their fight.

*When Rhima is able to break free and blocks the sword Devil Jin wields while absorbing his powers and makes a reflection blast on him is the same as how Genkai blocks Shishiwakamaru's katana while absorbing his spiritual energy and makes reflection blasts to knock him down in the manga/anime, YuYu Hakusho.

*It reveals that Jin remembers of how he had lost to Kazuya in their climatic battle which happens in Tekken 8 Story Mode within its first chapter.

*Reina's meeting with Jin is how they did in their special interaction within her gameplay and reveal trailer.
