I had Adrien/Cat Noir interact with Shadow more because both have something in common with losing someone they cared most. Ladybug and Sonic don't have anything in common other than leadership and saving the day. Its a work in progress.
Ladybug was very worried about her kitty. Who knows what he can be doing out there with these anthropomorphic animals talking.
"My favorite partner is probably all lost out there, I hope he's alright," Ladybug said while sitting at a window.
Sonic invited Amy and Cream to help this Ladybug person out. He doesn't know anything about girls.
"She looks worried," Amy said to Sonic.
"Yeah, she misses her partner much. But maybe you can help her, I don't know what to do, Ames" Sonic said.
"What do you know about her?" Amy asked.
"Well, she's from this Paris world and fights supervillains with her cat partner who used to flirt with her. I don't know her real name" Sonic said.
"Reminds me of us," Amy said.
"Yes, well, this girl is a mystery. Both of you are wearing red" Sonic said.
Cream talked sweetly to Ladybug along with her Chao Cheese.
"Uh, thank you, bunny girl. That's very sweet of you" Ladybug was offered a cookie by her.
"You're welcome Miss Ladybug. My name's Cream and this is Cheese" Cream said.
"Is he a kwami?" Ladybug pointed at him.
"Kwa-what?" Cream didn't know what she meant.
"Never mind. What is he?" Ladybug asked that she was talking to a very young child.
"He's a chao, a mystical creature living here on Mobius," Cream said.
"Oh. I have a…..kwami….that helps me transform into this. Tikki, spots off" Ladybug detransformed.
"Hi," Tikki waved.
"Whoa! She looks like a chao but like a ladybug!" Cream was amazed.
"She's a kwami of creation which grants a person superpowers," Marinette said.
"Whoa! What did you just do?" Sonic did not see how this magic was much different.
"I just detransformed" Marinette explained.
"Yeah, are you ready to tell us who you really are, Ladybug?" Sonic then asked.
"My name's Marinette. If we find Cat Noir, you cannot say my real name in front of him. Our identities are kept a secret for so long we never know who we are behind the mask" Marinette replied.
"You have my word, Marinette" Sonic held his hand up for a promise.
"Thanks….uh…..Sonic" Marinette trying to remember his name.
"You're welcome" Sonic smiled, earning her trust.
Suddenly, a tremor shook outside to reveal badniks heading to Seaside City.
"Badniks are attacking!" Tails rushes in.
"Eggman's attacking Seaside City!" Tails added.
"Alright Ladybug, let's go and show us what you're made of" Sonic got up.
"Heh, I'm more than just kicking butt," Ladybug said before joining them.

Cat Noir was using his destruction power as many times without transforming back. At least he didn't have to worry about that, especially detransforming into the open.
"So this Eggman you talk about! Why isn't he here to talk but just send a bucket of rust to do his work?! Cataclysm!" Cat Noir touched another badnik to destroy.
"At times he is, but in a mech suit!" Rouge screw kicks one badnik.
"Well, that's something!" Cat Noir jumps up on a buzz bomber that arrived, "Buzz off! Cataclysm!" He touched it and it exploded into bits.
Then an obese man in an eggmobile appeared, "Well Shadow and Rouge! I see you brought a cat/human hybrid brat here!" He gloated.
"Dr. Eggman I purr-sume" Cat Noir saw him.
"You're more annoying than that blue rat! Destroying my badniks with your sorcery magic! No wonder they always say black cats are bad luck!" Eggman criticizes him.
"Hey!" Ladybug jumped in and made a dent on the egg-mobile with her yo-yo, "Don't ever criticize my kitty!"
"Milady!" Cat Noir exclaimed in relief she was okay.
"Kitty!" Ladybug ran to him for a hug, "Man am I glad to see you're okay with nine lives!"
"No more separation again, milady" Cat Noir hugs her.
"I missed you, partner," Ladybug said.
"Barf! Pathetic teenagers! Don't just stand there! Attack them!" Eggman demanded the badniks.
"Did you miss me, Egghead!" Sonic does his spin dash like a pinball.
"Aargh! YOU AGAIN!" Eggman exclaimed.
"That's right, Egghead!" Sonic taunted him.
"I suggest you get down. He's very fast than you think" Shadow said to the teens.
"Got it, Shadow" Cat Noir nodded.
"No. Lucky charm!" Ladybug summons her power and out came a tool wrench, "A wrench?" She looks at it confused.
Then she looks at the badniks and Sonic, "Sonic! Catch!" She threw the wrench to him.
"Thanks. Time to disassemble!" He ran at full speed, unbolting and disarming the badniks one by one.
"Huh?!" Eggman saw the badniks stop moving and fell apart, "NOOOOO!"
"Whoa. He has super speed?!" Cat Noir exclaimed.
"Yes, just like me," Shadow said.
"That was useful Ladybug" Sonic fistbumps with Ladybug.
"You may have won this time but I learned something new, blue rat!" Eggman leaves with his dented mobile.
"MIRACULOUS LADYBUG!" Ladybug tossed her lucky charm in the air to turn into magic ladybugs to repair the damage in Seaside City.
The mobians were amazed at what this human girl could do but other than that, they were glad they didn't have to clean up the damage to take days to finish.
"Pound it!" Ladybug and Cat Noir fist-bumped.

Later at the workshop, Cat Noir never thought that this blue hedgehog likes chili dogs. When he tried one, he liked it. His father always made him stay on a strict diet but since he's deceased, he can live freely to himself.
"The spicier the better!" He said to Sonic.
"For a teenage human cat, we sure have something in common" Sonic munched his meal.
"A sense of humor?" Cat Noir guessed.
"Yup. By the way, you met Shadow. I saw you looked confused. He and I are not related if that's what you think. He and I are polar opposites" Sonic said.
"I noticed. He was a little edgy when he saved me from falling" Cat Noir finished his chili dog.
"He's always like that but he just expresses his own way. He can be difficult when he has no sense of humor" Sonic said.
Shadow was standing near the entrance door with his arms crossed, showing no emotion as always due to his tragic past.
"So you're a bat? Makes sense with big ears. No offense. But it was daylight out there and it didn't bother your eyes?" Ladybug talking to the jewel thief bat.
"Not one bit" Rouge replied.
"So all of your kind are different kinds of animals? Not a single human other than that buffoon?" Ladybug asked the blue hedgehog.
"Yeah. And of course, you met my best pal Tails. His real name is Miles but I call him Tails because of his two tails" Sonic said.
"And….uhh…..how old are you exactly? I'm basically 14" Ladybug said.
"I'm 15 years old, Tails is 8 years old but can pilot a plane," Sonic told her his and Tails' age.
"I'm 12 years old and I wield a hammer," Amy said.
"18," Rouge said.
"And you?" Cat Noir asked the Ultimate Lifeform.
"Ageless and I was created by that buffoon's grandfather a long time ago, cat. I never age" Shadow said coldly.
"Like a vampire? Cool! I so gotta get to know you" Cat Noir said with a smirk.
"Don't get in my personal life. You humans are all the same" Shadow leaves the workshop.
"Ouch," Cat Noir felt stabbed.
"Now that was rude!" Ladybug was not happy at Shadow's retort.
"He's a lot older than all of us. But he's telling the truth. It's not my place to tell you both about his past" Sonic said.
"Was his life…..terrible?" Ladybug asked.
Cat Noir thought of what he said, humans being the same. Did he have a human friend? Did something bad happen to his life to become edgy and less joyful? Compared with his, Adrien was neglected and ordered by his cold-hearted father a lot and he could never speak up against him.
"Stay here, milady. I'll talk to him. Something did trigger him when I detransformed in front of him earlier" Cat Noir said before heading out of the workshop.
It didn't take long to find him on top of the loop-da-loop of Green Hill. Shadow never thought that someone would trigger his emotions of Maria Robotnik. Not even from a teenage boy who has blond hair like hers and blue jeans like her dress color.
"There you are. I didn't mean to upset you. You and I have something in common. If you don't want to talk, you don't have to but something tells me that you once had a human friend" Cat Noir sits next to him, "Claws in" He detransformed.
"Agh! What is that awful smell?!" Shadow smelled rotten Camembert from the kwami.
"Sorry, my kwami likes his cheese rotten and smelly. Anyways, this is the real me. I'm Adrien Agreste" Adrien introduced himself.
"Yeah, sorry about that" Plagg apologized.
Shadow sighs that this human boy definitely is a lot like Sonic with a sense of humor but with annoying cat puns earlier, "I once had a human friend a long time ago. She was kind like you, treated me like a hedgehog than a weapon. She had an illness and the professor tried everything he could to find a cure for her to one day live on the planet" Shadow explained his story.
"She did? Well, I'm sorry to hear that" Adrien felt bad for Shadow.
"Before there was a chance to cure her, an organization called G.U.N invaded the ARK and shot her in front of my eyes while she got me to safety" Shadow continued.
Adrien gasped quietly at how tragic it was to this hedgehog, "How old was she?"
"She was roughly your age. Her death had a severe impact on her grandfather, he had my memories erased and took away my original purpose to protect humanity" Shadow sighs.
"That explains why you hated humans. But since you're here, what made you have a change of mind and heart?" Adrien asked.
"That pink hedgehog you met, she triggered my forgotten memory of what my purpose was for humanity and Maria. To let them live their dream and be happy" Shadow explained.
"Wow. So I do remind you of her. Compared with your story, my mother was everything to me before she had weird coughs and illness for years. Taking care of me, treating me with kindness, and she even read me a bedtime story of Cat Noir" Adrien explained about his childhood, "Until she presumed dead and my father stopped being himself, made me model his brand company, kept me isolated in the mansion, homeschooled, and made me do everything for him. All I ever wanted was to be an ordinary boy like everyone my age. Until one day I was given a miraculous of the black cat that grants me the power of destruction"
Shadow listened to his story, "So you named your alter ego after a story?"
"Yeah. On the same day, I met Ladybug and we became Paris's most famous heroes. Unlike that madman doctor you mentioned about, Ladybug and I faced an evil man named Hawk Moth. He preys on negative emotions with his evil butterflies known as Akumas. It transforms innocent victims into supervillains to try and take my ring and Milady's earrings. You have no idea how evil he was when he changed his name from Shadow Moth to Monarch until the very end" Adrien said.
"He really can't make up his mind, can he?" Shadow asked.
"Nope. All he cares about is believing he's powerful enough to stop me and Milady but he doesn't learn that using the miraculous for personal gain causes disasters. That's why me and Milady use the miraculous for the greater good. It cannot be used for selfish desires or evil purposes" Adrien explained why he uses it for good deeds instead of destroying out of anger.
"You got lots of spirit kid, but I'm not you. I work alone rather than wasting my time with teammates. For you see, I'm the Ultimate Lifeform" Shadow said before standing up.
"Is that like a Codename or something? Especially all that sneak attacks of teleporting everywhere" Adrien asked.
"It's my title, I was created using hedgehog and black arm alien genes," Shadow said.
"I see. Feeling better now that we talked about our lives?" Adrien asked.
"Better" Shadow replied, "How do you keep on believing there's hope for your life?"
"Well, I never had a childhood dream because I never went to school at a young age until I did a year ago. I never had friends but one who was obnoxious and selfish, I just continued being perfect for my parents. I made new friends to comfort me as I cherished the memory of my late mother. She would be so proud of me for building my own happiness. And I met a girl who always solves complicated solutions in life as she did for me. I fell in love with her. As for Ladybug, we have always been partners saving the day every time. Friendship is what brings support and it always does, Shadow. As long as we don't have to be so alone" Adrien explained why he continues to be happy.
"Is that so?" Shadow replied.
"Yes, it is. I was alone as a child just like you were alone too. You continue to live your life the same way I did too" Adrien said.
"Yes, and I'm keeping my promise to Maria" Shadow said.
"As well as for my mother too," Adrien said.

"So your powers can repair all the damage like earlier? Wow, that is so cool. And you trusted me to use that wrench magic thingy" Sonic said to Ladybug.
"Yep, it was my instincts that told me that you could disarm and disassemble the robots," Ladybug said.
"And your cat can destroy things with his hand touching it," Amy said.
"Yeah. It's called Cataclysm" Ladybug explained, "I've used it too when he and I switched miraculous twice"
"What happens if it touches on a living being?" Sonic asked.
"Well, it slowly decays them to death. Monarch is the only victim to have died but it was his own doing by making my cat do it to escape" Ladybug explained.
"He did WHAT?!" Amy gasped.
"It's a long story. We thought we captured the evil man but instead, he forced my kitty to cataclysm him on the arm. It was very traumatizing for Cat Noir to use it directly on a person. He never meant to harm him, even if Monarch was a bad person" Ladybug said.
"My god," Sonic said in disgust.
"Yeah, I know. But it's more useful in destroying akumas" Ladybug said.
"What's an Akuma?" Sonic asked.
"It's a dark magic butterfly that senses negative emotions in a person to evilize them into supervillains with powers. Mine is creation, Cat Noir's is destruction, and Monarch's is transmission. We have teammates with animal-themed costumes with superpowers. We also have a fox-themed superhero Rena Rouge with the power of illusion. Hence why foxes are cunning and shifty" Ladybug gave an example of what the miraculous is used for based on the symbol of animals.
"Incredible. I got a device that creates holograms of me" Tails said with interest.
"Something like that. But if touching the illusion, it disappears. I've never seen a fox like you so young with an increased knowledge of inventing stuff. In my world, it's just not possible for 8-year-olds to develop a lot of knowledge in everything" Ladybug talking to Tails.
"Yeah, but I see it as a gift. And those twin tails I have, I used to be bullied because of them but Sonic came and rescued me" Tails explained his backstory to her.
"Reminds me of when Chloe used to bully me a lot because it's her own entertainment to treat everyone as her doormats," Ladybug said.
"Sounds like a real sadist" Tails felt bad for what Marinette went through.
"More like she can never learn to be nice or change herself. We reached out for her but she only thinks about herself" Ladybug said.
"Many villains we fought are not always redeemable," Sonic said.
"I know. Especially this manipulative and compulsive liar Lila Rossi trying to ruin my life by making up so many nasty lies to fool everyone into believing her over me. But I put a stop to her by exposing her in front of the entire school who she really was" Ladybug said.
"You did the right thing, Ladybug. You opened everyone's eyes. Heck, I've been framed too back when Shadow was on the bad side" Sonic recalls when everyone thought he committed crimes when Shadow was the culprit.
"He was?" Ladybug asked.
"Yep, but it was because he was being manipulated and had no memories of his past at the time" Sonic explained.
"But he's on the good side, right? He does look a bit like you" Ladybug said.
"Save for the colors. Aside from him and I, there's this Silver from the future, he came to the past to keep the future safe" Sonic said.
"A time traveler you say?" Ladybug guessed.
"Something like that. He loves peaceful worlds" Sonic said.
