OPENING
"Why don't you leave this house and come with me?" Menika, the Angora cat asked Snowbell, the Persian cat.
"You know I like it here with the Littles."
"I know. But I thought you loved me. We could travel around, go to amazing places, and leave this town behind."
"I like the idea, but I don't like leaving the Littles. They took me out of the pound when I was a kitten. I might have been put down if they hadn't gotten me out of there. I can't just leave them."
"Cats run away all the time. And not all humans are nice. When I was a kitten, my humans bought me from a store, didn't like me, and dumped me off at the pound. I was set to be put down, but, facing death row, I lunged at the human, scratched at his face, broke free, and jumped through a window. As you can see, I still have the scars from that."
"You're still pretty, though."
"Thank you."
"The Littles aren't like that. They love me."
"Maybe now, but maybe when they get that new child, they won't care about you at all." His owners, the Littles, had one child and were planning to adopt a third.
"I'm sure that won't happen," Snowbell said, trying to show his conviction, though he himself had wondered the same thing. With two kids now, would the Littles still notice their beloved Snow?
"You don't sound convinced," Menika said, picking up on his doubts, despite his best efforts to hide them. "Run away with me."
"Yes, but I'm not so sure about this, especially the running part."
"Maybe if you ate less tuna, you wouldn't be so fat." Menika was kind to him, bringing him all sorts of goodies, mainly food, that she had picked up from her travels. However, that kindness did not extend to her ignoring his deficiencies, such as his protruding gut. And he respected her for that.
"I know, dear, I know."
"A cat like you, who can take down a mouse or a bird with one paw tied behind your back can surely take care of himself without needing a kitty bowl." Snowbell indeed was as talented as Menika had stated. He definitely kept the pests away and was the reason that no mouse or bird dared set foot within 20 feet of the Little house.
"I'd prefer not to have any of my paws tied." Menika laughed at his wisecrack.
"Come with me. You know you want to," she said seductively, brushing her fur against his. Snowbell sighed. He sure did love her. The two had been meeting off and on for years, since about a year or so after Snowbell had been adopted by the Littles.
"I don't know, Menika. This is a big step for me. Maybe this isn't such a bad thing getting another kid. After all, it will mean more food dropped for me! All the better."
"Besides food, Mr. Big Gut, what else can they provide you that I cannot?"
"I don't know," Snowbell said, squirming uncomfortably, "maybe I should wait just a little bit."
"I leave tonight. I don't stick around for uncommitted kitties."
"Ok, ok, I'll just stick around to see what kid they have, and, if things don't turn out right, I'll come to you."
"I look forward to meeting you tonight, love," Menika said.
"How do you know that we will?"
"You can't trust humans Snowbell. See you tonight," she cooed at him, blowing a kiss at him as she departed.
Sometime after he she left, George awoke. He seemed excited. But not to see his beloved fluffy kitty. No, it was all about the new adoption. Snowbell sighed. George had talked of nothing else the last few days. If George's actions were a portent of things to come, then he would be mostly ignored. Maybe fed, he hoped, but perhaps not loved. And Menika had promised him love. "Here's what I'll do. I'll gauge how they feel when they bring home the little brat, I mean the lovely little child, and if they seem too focused on him or her, then I'll be outta here like a cat fleeing from bath time," he vowed.
Snowbell fully intended to keep that vow. And he would have too, departing the Littles forever, had not fate dealt him a curious hand. For, of course, as was told in Stuart Little, the Littles adopted Stuart, a mouse. Since there was no way in hell that he was going to leave the house and be, as he thought, replaced by a mouse. No, replacing him with a mouse was cruel and unusual punishment and a violation of his 8th Amendment rights, he firmly believed. And since he didn't have a lawyer, he would have to deal with the matter himself. After all, the famous Snowbell who could defeat any mouse or bird with one paw tied behind his back could certainly deal with a mouse. Problem was, Stuart was pretty well guarded. The family seemed to suspect he might try something. No matter, he'd wait all day and go get the mouse after dark while they took a nightly snoozer.
And so, he stayed at the house all day, forgetting all about Menika in his rage until, as he planned, after nightfall, the Littles were going to bed. He could see Stuart heading for bed too. And he was unguarded. One swipe and the mouse would be dead. He could eat the body and excrete the remains in the incinerator. Nobody would ever see him again, so they'd have no proof that he did it and thus the cops couldn't lock him in the slammer and throw away the key, or worse, send him to the chair. Of course, he would not be welcome after that, but who cared at that point, if the Littles were going to replace him with a mouse? The disappearance of their lovely new 'child' would be a final parting gift from old Snow to the Littles. Sure, he would miss his tinkleball and other goodies, but not enough to want to forgive the Littles and stay. Menika was right about them! he thought.
And, as he was about to strike Stuart down, this thought suddenly jarred his memory and he remembered what he had promised Menika. "Oh no, I forgot all about her!" He quickly hopped out the window, thankfully open, so that he didn't get any scars, and headed to the train station, hoping to meet with her at the planned rendezvous point. But alas, for him, he was too late. She had left some time ago. He had no idea when, or even if, she would be back, especially after being stood up like this.
Snowbell had returned home even more dejected. He had vowed to make the mouse pay. He went and paid Stuart a visit that first night. He now was opposed to openly killing him. With Menika gone, there was no real reason to kill Stuart here and be kicked out by the Littles. He was even further infuriated when Stuart referred to him as a "pet". The nerve of that mouse! He flat out told the mouse that this was his family and that there was no way he was going to share them with a mouse. And he was very afraid that, once the other cats found out, that he would lose his reputation as a tough kitty who defeated any mouse that came near the Little house. So he asked Stuart to stay away from the windows.
The following day, Stuart had fallen into a pile of laundry and was dumped into the washing machine. The mouse had cried to him for help, but he just walked away. That would be perfect, for Stuart to die and he wouldn't need to lift a paw. In fact, all he'd have to do was not lift a paw. Unfortunately for him, Stuart was spotted in time and rescued. Oh well, something, hopefully would come up for him to be rid of the mouse and avoid notice. And at least the other cats didn't know about this.
Eventually, one of the other cats, his friend Monty, did find out about Stuart. Monty's laughter about the situation of a mouse having a pet cat so infuriated Snowbell that he forgot that he was forbidden to eat Stuart and tried to kill him, though he failed, ending up inside a garbage can. No matter, he would play the long game. For showing him up, and, he believed, costing him his woman, he plotted long and hard to get rid of Stuart for good. With some days passing, which allowed his rage to simmer down, Snowbell decided that it was best just to have lure Stuart away from the house forever rather than kill him. He enlisted the help of the infamous Alleycat Smokey to do this. The plan was a success, with Stuart being lured away; however, everything had gone awry when the head of the orphaned had told the Littles that Stuart's real parents had died years earlier, making them realize that the mice posing as his parents were fakes. With the police now called, Snowball panicked, fearing getting caught and kicked out. He told Smokey, who decided to just kill Stuart. Stuart, however, was able to avoid being eaten by the cats and returned home safely. The Littles were all out, looking for him, leaving Snowbell home alone. Snowbell lied to him, stating that the Littles didn't like him anymore, using the removed picture of him from the family photo (used to make posters to find him) as evidence. Devastated, Stuart left the house. Shortly after the mouse left, Snowbell realized that he was in the wrong. What had happened with Menika wasn't Stuart's fault. And what was so bad about having a mouse treat him like a pet? It wasn't like Stuart had done something awful like give hima bath, after all. As he was contemplating on the matter, his friend Monty came to him and told him that Smokey had found Stuart in the park. Snowbell came along, hoping to warn Stuart and get him out of there before the Alleycats found hm. He found Stuart, planning to flee with him. However, his frined Monty, who had a big mouth, alerted the other cats that Staurt had been found. Snowbell fled with Stuart. Snowbell stopped the Alleycats from eating Stuart and Stuart struck Smokey with a branch, to keep him from killing Snowbell, knocking him into water. Shortly thereafter, Smokey was mauled to death by dogs, who happened to be in the park.
This led to the other Alleycats, save Monty, who still hung around him due to always mooching off of him for food, having nothing more to do with him. He'd made his choice, he'd chosen the mouse. Years went by, and he slowly forgot about Menika, and their paths didn't cross again for years.
Author's Note: As the intended last part of the franchise, I decided to combine elements of the movies, with the novel, bringing back the most sinister villain of the movies, Falcon, who canonically survived, last being seen in the TV Series episode A Little Bit Country, which took place between Stuart Little 2 and Stuart Little 3: Call of the Wild. I also decided to have as the primary antagonist of this movie, the secondary antagonist of the book, the Angora cat. I also brought in Harriet Ames from the book, albeit as a mouse, just like Stuart is here, rather than a short humanoid like in the book. There are characters reprising their roles from all three films as well as two new characters from the book, one hero and one villain, debuting in this finale movie.
