Chapter 50
Two days have gone by, and Sean is going out of his mind worrying about Emma when there's a knock at the front door. He gets up to answer it
Chuck: Hey man
Sean: Come on in
Chuck enters the house
Sean: Have you found Emma yet?
Chuck: I got my best guys working on it, I promise.
Sean: Have you heard anything new?
Chuck: I did some digging on this Nick guy
Sean: And?
Chuck: He's got a pretty shady background.
Sean: Meaning?
Chuck lays out a Manilla folder on the table in the living room with pictures and articles in it
Chuck: His last 3 teaching jobs, he's been fired from for assault and harassment, in the last 2 years
Sean: Ok, what's that have to do with Emma disappearing?
Chuck: I put a call in to each one of the schools, they all said the same thing, each one of the victims, was a blonde female with Brown or Hazel eyes. Each one of the victims, name started with an E, So, I did some more digging, his fiancée died 3 years ago. Her name was Esme Camilla Hardway
Sean: OK? Again, what does this have to do with my wife?
Chuck: Take a look at this
Chuck pulls a photo out of the folder and shows Sean
Sean: Why do you have a picture of Emma?
Chuck: No, That's Nick's former fiancée, Esme
Sean looks at Chuck in shock
Sean: This is kind of creepy
Chuck: I think you might be right, Sean.
Sean: I swear if he hurts Emma-
Chuck: Relax, We will find her!
Sean: I should've saw this coming
Chuck: You couldn't have known this would happen, Sean. No one could've saw this coming
Sean: She needs to be ok. I can't lose her
Chuck: She'll be fine Sean; We will find her
Sean's phone rings
Sean: Hello?
Tracker: Hey buddy
Sean: Hey Track
Tracker: Have you heard anything about Emma?
Sean: Chuck's here now.
Sean said as he stands up and starts pacing
Tracker: How's Rose?
Sean: She's fine, I'm sure she's probably confused as to why Emma's not around
Tracker: Everything's going to be ok.
Sean: I -I got to go I'll call you later
Sean hangs up, and throws his phone on the couch
Sean: It'd be nice if everyone would stop telling me everything is going to be ok! Nothing will be ok until I find my damn wife!
Chuck: I know buddy, I know.
Sean: I've barely slept the last 2 nights; I've worrying myself to death. This isn't like her, Chuck! I know my wife
Chuck: Sean, I got my best detectives on this case. I handpicked each of these guys on this case, I'm overseeing the whole thing. Any information they find, gets reported right to me
Chucks phone rings
Chuck: Johnson
Chuck steps into the kitchen
Chuck: I see, alright, thank you detective
Chuck hangs up
Chuck: Sorry about that
Sean: Was it about Emma?
Chuck: No, sorry bud,
Sean: I need to know if she's ok!
Back at Nick's, Nick heads to the basement and see's Emma sleeping
Nick: Sleeping beauty, wake up
Emma: What's going on?
Nick: I'm so sorry to wake you dear but I certainly don't want you to be sleeping all day.
Emma: Let me out of here! I swear to god, when my husband and the police find me, your ass is going to be grass!
Nick laughs
Nick: We'll be long gone before your precious husband or anyone even comes looking for you
Emma: I need to make sure my daughter is ok
Nick: I'm sure she's ok, darling. Don't worry
Emma: But she's my daughter, don't you want her to be a part of our new life together?
Nick caresses Emma's cheek
Nick: I would love nothing more, sweetheart. When the time is right, we will go get our daughter
Emma: She is a part of me, she should be here
Nick: I said we will get her when the time is right!
Emma: Ok, don't need to get snappy
Emma: I'm getting kind of hungry, can you make me something to eat, please?
Nick smiles
Nick: Certainly, I'll be back in a bit
Nick goes back upstairs and makes Emma something to eat
Back at Sean's house, Sean's looking at the file Chuck left in the living room while Rose is in her playpen looking at Sean
Sean (to Rose): I promise, babygirl, Daddy's going bring Mommy home, very soon
Rose: Dada
Sean flips through the folder as Rose drinks her bottle
Sean: I know honey, I miss mommy too.
Rose: Dada
Sean looks up from the folder and looks at Rose
Sean (to Rose): Did you just-?
Rose: Dada
Sean smiles from ear to ear as he gets up and goes over to the playpen and picks up Rose
Sean: Oh babygirl, you don't know how happy it makes Daddy, hearing your first words
Rose smiles
Sean: Just wish your mommy was here to witness it
Rose: Dada
Sean gives Rose a loving hug
Sean: Daddy and Mommy love you so much, Rosie
Sean: Come on, baby. Let's go see Nana and Papa
Sean gets Rose together and grabs his diaper bag, heads out the door and goes to Spike and Snakes, they arrive at Spike and Snake's a few minutes later. As Sean gets Rose out of the car, Snake opens the front door. They walk in the house
Snake: Hey Papa's girl
Sean: Someone said their first words today
Spikes eyes begins to fill with tears
Sean: Spike-
Spike: No, it's ok, It's happy tears
Snake pulls Spike into his arms
Snake: I know honey, I know
Spike: Why isn't my daughter home yet?! Are the police even looking for her?
Sean: Chester's brother, Chuck has a special handpicked set of detectives on Emma's case. I just talk to Chuck Yesterday
Spike: I don't give a dang what it takes, you find my little girl Sean, and bring her home.
Sean: I will, I promise, I've barely slept since she disappeared
Snake: We're here to help in anyway necessary
Sean: Actually, how would you guys like to have Rose for the day? Maybe for the night too?
Snake: We'll be happy to.
Rose: Dada
Sean: I love you too sweetheart. Daddy has to go meet Uncle Tracker and Uncle Chuck.
Spike: You call us if you hear anything.
Sean gives Rose a sweet kiss on her head
Sean: I promise I will
Sean leaves
Meanwhile Tracker calls Elena and reschedules their date for this evening
Tracker: I'm so sorry I had to cancel our date the other night, you look stunning
Elena: I'm happy we were able to reschedule
Tracker: My sister in law is missing, and My brother is going crazy worrying
Elena: Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry.
Elena takes a sip of her wine as Tracker takes a drink of his beer
Tracker: I didn't want you to think I was blowing you off
Elena: Gosh no, I understand completely. Family comes first.
Tracker: Enough about my family issues, tell me more about the beautiful Elena Halestead
Tracker chuckles as they enjoy their date together
Back at Nick's
Emma: You're wrong if you think they're not looking for me
Nick: They probably haven't even noticed your missing
Emma spits in his face as Nick slaps her hard
Nick: Foolish bitch
Emma begins crying
Emma: Why are you doing this? What do you want from me?
Nick: Because you and I belong together, you're just to blind to see it
Emma: My husband is probably losing his mind, worrying
Nick: Spare me the dramatics
Emma gets up and attempts to run to the stairs, Nick grabs her foot as she starts to get up the stairs, she tries to kick him away
Emma: Let me go!
Nick pulls her down the stairs and pushes her on the bed
Nick: Where did you think you were going?
Emma: I wanted to see daylight
Nick: Yea, nice try. I don't believe that.
Emma: Ok, I was going to try and take a shower
Emma said as she spots a box of clothes in the corner of the room by a bathroom
Nick: If that's the case, you could've just asked me
Nick said as he walked over to the box of clothes and grabs something for Emma to wear, then tosses them to Emma
Emma: Do I get a towel or anything? I sure as hell don't want you looking at my body
Nick points to the bathroom
Nick: In there, everything you'll need sweetheart
Nick: I'll come back down in a few minutes to check on you
Nick begins walking up the stairs, as Nick approaches the stop of the stairs, As Emma hears the basement door shut and lock, she hears his footsteps upstairs, she reaches in the back of her pillowcase and grabs the phone that she grabbed off nick during the struggle and heads in the bathroom and turns the shower on.
