A/N: I know that Naruto has taken a bit of a backseat to Issei in the last arc but I'm here to tell you that stops now because Naruto is going to start being a bit more active with Rias and the peerage. Both as a teacher and as a friend

Chapter 10: New Devil in town

"Hm, interesting." In an office in the underworld, sat Sirzechs watching the relay of the rating game. He was rooting for his little sister…really he was! But he didn't expect her to actually win the match. It was an unexpected turn of events, one that he was happy with but unexpected nonetheless. However, His little sister's win also brought problems. The elders are in disarray due to the marriage not happening and they're demanding a meeting.

Sirzechs let out a sigh, these meetings were always a pain to deal with. Oh well as long as his little sister was doing well. One thing that did catch his attention was the performance of his little sister's new member, Naruto Uzumaki. He noticed that out of every fighter that participated in the match, he was the only one that came out unharmed. By all accounts it wouldn't make sense. Even Rias came away with some injuries.

But him? No fatigue, no nothing. Sirzechs was no fool however, he knew when someone was holding back in a fight, video or not. And the technique he used to clone himself was strange as it didn't seem to be magic. On top of that he beat Riser using only hand to hand combat. It was impressive to say the least. There were a lot of questions regarding the boy and the question that was on his mind…

Just who did his little sister take into her peerage?

An alarm clock rang out throughout the room signifying that it's time to get up. A hand reached out from under the covers and slapped the alarm clock a couple of times before slamming a fist down on the alarm clock, destroying it. Naruto's head peaked out from under the covers and glared at the destroyed alarm clock.

Naruto let out a groan before getting out of bed and bent over backwards, Naruto sighed in relief as his back let out a satisfying pop. He lazily walked over to the calendar and looked at the day.

Sunday

It was the day after the Rating game and Naruto planned on getting some training done today. The shop was closed for today and he just paid his rent for this month. That meant he was free to do whatever he wanted. It was going to be his first time doing some super heavy training since he got here. It was time for him to get back into the swing of things.

Naruto was brushing his teeth as he thought about yesterday's events. And he had to admit he had a bit of fun, he just wished he hadn't had become a devil in order to help.

Flashback

It was the night before the rating game and Rias just got finished mentally preparing herself for the battle ahead. Just as she was about to turn her light off to get some sleep, she heard a knock at her door. Rias opened her door to reveal Naruto standing in her doorway. "Naruto? What are you doing here?"

"Hey Rias, so how does…" Naruto's words died in his throat as he now took in Rias's form.

She was nude, completely nude.

Now this wasn't his first experience with a naked girl, hello student of ero-sennin here, he saw naked girls whether he wanted to or not. But this was the first time one was in his face like this. A blush was starting to appear on his face and he struggled to keep eye contact.

Rias tilted her head in confusion. "Naruto?" Naruto coughed to regain his composure.

"Why are you...ahem…" He couldn't even get the word out. Naruto's eyes were slowly trailing downwards towards her breasts. Luckily for him, she seemed to catch on to his words and she looked down at herself.

"Oh, I can't sleep unless I'm naked, come on in." Rias said as she turned around and walked into her room, not the least bit embarrassed by her nudity. Naruto watched her hips sway for a few seconds before shaking his head to get his mind back on track

'Focus Naruto, you're not a pervert, you're not a pervert. Damn ero-sennin.' getting his game face back on, Naruto followed Rias into her room and closed the door behind him. After Rias had put on a shirt, she was sitting on her bed while Naruto was leaning on the wall.

"What did you need to talk to me for?" Naruto closed his eyes as he sighed hard and crossed his arms, this was it.

"How…How does this Devil thing work?" Rias couldn't believe what she was hearing, was he really saying what she thought he was saying?

"W-What?"

"How do you turn me into a devil?" He asked again. Rias stared at him for a few seconds before smiling. She had a pretty smile, Naruto oddly noted. Rias got up from her bed and summoned her chess pieces. One of the pieces started reacting to Naruto, glowing crimson in color. It was that same prototype piece that always reacted to him. Rias grabbed the chess piece and handed it to him.

Naruto inspected the piece. So this was a chess piece. It kinda reminded him of shogi but he only played shogi a handful of times with Shikamaru. Naruto handed the piece back to her. "I do have conditions for this." Rias nodded her head. She supposed it was too good to think that he just changed his mind. "First, I want to be turned back."

Rias looked at him in confusion. "After all of this is over, I want to be turned back. I don't want to be a devil forever." His words surprised her as much as they disappointed her.

"Turned back?" Naruto nodded his head. "I don't know if that's even possible."

"I see…" Naruto stopped leaning on the wall and started heading towards the door. "Goodnight."

"Wait!" Naruto stopped and looked back at the girl. "It's never been done before but I'll see what I can do."

"Alright, my second condition is that you will not refer to me as your servant." Ok now Rias was thoroughly confused.

"Huh?"

"If we're going to do this I will not be some tool for you to order around. I will work with you, not for you." His tone, deadly serious. He hated being looked at like a weapon. If he was gonna join her peerage, it would be on his terms. "Those are my terms. Is that cool with you?"

Rias took a moment to think. The opportunity she was hunting for all this time was now presenting itself on a silver platter. But, throughout the weeks she had known Naruto the one thing she did learn about him was that nothing was ever simple with him. "Are you sure this is what you want?" She said, giving him an out.

No, he prefered to not have to do this at all but as much as he didn't like the thought of being a devil he hated sitting around while the people he was starting to consider friends were fighting for something important. Naruto nodded his head slowly.

Flashback end

Naruto rinsed his mouth and wiped his face with a towel. When he was done wiping his face he looked at himself in the mirror and what he saw made him do a double take. The sclera of his eyes (The white of someone's eye.) were black and his irises and pupils were red and he was scowling at him. Naruto rubbed his eyes and looked at his reflection but he was just looking at himself.

Naruto let out a breath. "I really need to get more sleep." Naruto finished up in the bathroom and grabbed his things and started to head out the door. "I'm heading out." When he stepped outside Naruto did some stretches and started jogging in place. After he was done his light warm up he got in a running stance.

"Here we….go!" Naruto set off into a sprint, speeding past cars and civilians in a blink of an eye. Now, the area he resides in isn't very populated so no one would see him running anyway. Naruto felt the adrenaline coursing through him. When was the last time he ran like this? Weeks? Months? He guessed that didn't matter now. He felt a small smile creep onto his face as he ran.

Damn did it feel good to start training again.

The elemental nations

Sakura wiped her forehead clean of the sweat that was picking up and she let out a breath of relief. "There we go, all done." She just got done cleaning off the Naruto statue. She was coming off her shift at the hospital and decided to pay the statue a visit. "Hey Naruto, it's been awhile hasn't it? Sorry I haven't visited, the hospital has been really busy as of late. I've been keeping up with my training even though I don't really do missions anymore since you…" Sakura let out a sad sigh.

"I miss you, you know? It's been so quiet around the village without you. There's been talks around the village, people are starting to think you're dead…I don't want to believe them though. I hope you're still alive, wherever you are. I'll come back and visit tomorrow, Naruto." Sakura stood up and walked away from the statue. Kakashi watched Sakura walk away in the trees.

Kakashi looked at his student in concern. It was true that the villagers were starting to assume that Naruto had died in the fight with Pain and soon so will the ninja world. But Kakashi knew better, he knew Naruto was still alive and wouldn't give up until he found him. Kakashi looked at the statue. "I will find you Naruto, I swear it."

DxD

Naruto was standing in the middle of a forest area quite a bit aways from Kuoh. He decided that being away from civilization was a good idea since the people here can't do what he can do and he just didn't wanna be bothered by anyone. "Ok, time to go over the basics. Hand signs." Naruto sat down in a lotus position and clapped his hands together. "Saru, Tatsu, Ne, Tori, Mi, Ushi, Inu, Uma…"

Naruto frowned

"Uma...Uma…shit what comes after Uma?" And just like that Naruto spent the last 15 minutes trying to remember the rest of the hand signs. After Naruto eventually remembered the hand signs he got ready for some heavier training. "Multi Shadow Clone jutsu!" Dozens of Narutos poofed into existence.

"Ok it's time to get back into the swing of things!" Naruto then separated each of his clones into groups. "Group A, you will be focused on taijutsu. Group B will be ninjutsu and Group C will be chakra control." Each group of clones nodded their heads and split apart. Naruto took a deep breath and sat in a lotus position and he started to meditate.

Mediation really helped him clear his mind and heart of the things that were troubling him for a while and right now there were a lot of things on his mind that needed clearing. Things he wasn't sure of. Naruto's ears perked when he heard a small explosion and the scream from his shadow clones. There was one thing he was sure of though.

"This is gonna be a looonnnng meditation."

"He can make clones of himself!?" Rias exclaimed as she reviewed the footage from the rating game and she just got to the part where Naruto was battling Yubelluna. "And why didn't he say anything about it sooner!?" It would have been nice to form a plan around the fact that he could make clones.

She supposed it could've been a last minute discovery by the boy. "I'm gonna have a long talk with that boy." Just then her peerage came in the door with Issei and Asia at the front.

"Hey Buchou, can I ask you something?" Rias turned off the relay to give them her full attention.

"Ask away." Issei rubbed the back of his head.

"Well uh, Asia and I want to see if we are doing our jobs properly with the requests so we want to observe the others work." Rias put a hand to her chin in thought. After a few seconds of thinking Rias answered the duo.

"I don't see why not, but only if you don't disturb the others or the client." Issei and Asia nodded their heads and bowed in thanks. Now that it was brung to her attention, she supposed that this could be a good learning experience for the new members of her peerage and speaking of new members, Rias noticed that her newest one was missing…

Again

"Hey, has anyone seen Naruto today?" Her peerage all shook their heads no.

"Sorry Buchou, I haven't seen him at all today." Kiba said.

"Koneko, you usually have the most luck finding him, any idea where he could be?"

"He could be in his apartment."

"You found out where he lives?" Rias asked in surprise and Koneko responded to her by nodding her head. "Show me when you come back from your requests."

"Yes Buchou." Rias inwardly smiled at her new information. If Naruto wasn't gonna come to her, she would have to go to him. She still had yet to properly welcome Naruto into her family after all. With the outcome of the rating game and her eventual knowledge on where Naruto lives.

Things were looking up for this Gremory.

Naruto jumped from tree to tree in rapid succession. Suddenly two kunais came out of nowhere towards Naruto as he was jumping towards the next tree. Reacting accordingly, Naruto twisted his body mid-air, allowing him to dodge in between the two kunais. Naruto completed the dodge by successfully landing on the branch of the next tree. Unfortunately for him the branch he landed on was thin and it snapped under his weight.

Naruto screamed as he fell and when he hit the ground he hissed as he landed on his arm. Naruto turned on his back and let out a breath as he stared at the sky. He's been at this for hours now and the sun was starting to set. Naruto sat up and looked around the area he used as a training ground. Pieces of broken trees and ground were all around the area and there were kunais embedded into the none broken trees. Deciding to call it a day, Naruto got up and stretched his sore muscles before collecting his things and leaving the area.

As Naruto walked towards his house, he thought about this week's recent events. He was a devil now and he didn't know how to feel about that. But he did know that none of which he felt was positive. He guessed it's fine for now as it is only temporary.

No it isn't…

'Maybe these guys won't be so bad to stick around for a while.' Naruto and his train of thought came to a screeching halt when he spotted who was in front of his apartment complex. Though he had only known her for a couple of weeks, that red hair was unmistakable.

Great, first his shop and now his apartment has been compromised by the redhead. Damn that pint sized rat, she was the only one who knew where he lived and there was no way someone like Rias would even think about walking through an area like this. Since there was no point in avoiding her anymore, Naruto walked up to Rias and did a fake cough.

Rias let out a small yelp as she turned around to face Naruto. "Oh, Naruto it's you. We gotta get you a bell or something."

"Why are you here?"

"Really? you're not gonna ask how I found you?"

"I know how you found me. I just wanna know why you're here on the weekend."

"Fine, I'm here to pick you up."

"For what?" At his question, Rias just simply smiled at him.

"You're welcome ceremony of course."

"What the hell are you talking about?" The mentioning of a ceremony peaking his interest a little.

"I always throw a ceremony when I get a new member of my household."

"Do I really have to go?" Naruto asked. Going to a ceremony was definitely not a part of his plans for today. Rias put her hands on her hips.

"Yes, it is pretty rude not to show up to your own ceremony, you know." Naruto decided to think it over for a few seconds. It's not like he had anything to do at the moment and truth be told these guys could help him find a way home with this magic stuff. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to be around these guys a little longer. Naruto was brought out of thoughts by Rias's question.

"What happened to you?" She finally noticed his roughed up appearance.

"Training." She wondered what type of training he was doing if he looked like that. As a matter of fact, she doesn't think she has ever seen him train. She would have to ask him later.

"So? Are you coming?" Naruto looked at Rias and nodded his head.

"Yeah, just let me clean myself up." Surprised that he actually agreed without much of a fight, Rias actually stood there for a few seconds before Naruto's answer registered.

"Wait, really!?" Naruto looked back at her with a smirk on his face.

"Yeah, I mean, did you want me to say no?"

"Wha-"

"If you don't want me to go that's fine with me too I don't really care." Naruto almost smiled at the way Rias was about to panic.

"No! I mean of course I want you to come! I didn't come all the way out here for nothing."

"Alright then." Naruto took his key out of his pocket and opened his door. Naruto then looked back at Rias and tilted his head as if to tell her 'come in.' When they entered the apartment, Naruto walked out of the living room to go clean up. Rias took this moment to look around his apartment.

As far as she could see there was nothing that could give her insight into Naruto's likes and dislikes. If she had to be honest, there was nothing in this apartment at all. No TV, no nothing. It was empty. Rias frowned.

She was starting to realize why Naruto owned a ramen shop.

Eventually, Naruto got done cleaning up and the duo made it to the clubhouse. On the way there Naruto swore that Rias kept looking at him like she wanted to ask him something but he chalked it up to his imagination. Naruto and Rias stepped into the clubhouse.

"Alright, wait here." Rias told him before stepping out of the room. Naruto looked up and saw a banner that said 'welcome Naruto!' and the gesture got a small smile out of him.

"Naruto-senpai, you made it." Naruto looked down at Koneko and crossed his arms and raised his eyebrow. Koneko seemed to get his silent message and looked away.

"Sorry." Koneko said. Naruto sighed.

"It's fine, she would've found out eventually." Naruto looked over to see Kiba, Issei and Asia walking up to him.

"Well would you look at that you actually came." Issei commented. "Damn, now I owe Kiba money."

"Y'all actually bet on me not coming?"

"Well you are good at disappearing on us Naruto." Kiba said.

"Yeah, Buchou even thinks that you might be a ninja." Issei said. Naruto sweat dropped.

'Well, she's not wrong about that.' Naruto thought. On the outside however, Naruto snorted at Issei's comment.

"I'm glad you came, Naruto-san." Asia said. Naruto could only nod at Asia before Rias and Akeno came through one of the doors with Akeno pushing a cake on the tray. Rias grabbed the cake cutter and went over to Naruto and presented it to him.

"You should do the honors, it is your welcome ceremony after all."

"You know technically I never said yes to joining your club."

"Come on Naruto, you already joined my peerage you might as well just go all the way. Honestly, you need to stop being so stubborn all the time." Rias huffed. Naruto looked at Rias in irritation.

"Oh, be quiet!"

"Please, Naruto-san." Asia pleaded.

"Stay." Koneko said.

"It would be nice to have another boy in the club." Kiba said.

Naruto sighed and then took the cake cutter from Rias and walked towards the cake. Naruto cut out a slice of cake and held it up in the air. "My name is Naruto Uzumaki and I hereby join the Occult Research Club. There, happy?" Rias smiled at him while the rest of the peerage did a small cheer. Naruto rubbed the back of his head.

"So annoying…" Naruto muttered under his breath. Naruto then looked at the piece of cake and shrugged his shoulders before taking a bite out of it. Naruto's eyes widened slightly as he tasted it.

It was delicious, very delicious. It was sweet, very different from that of ramen but not bad. Naruto let out a satisfied sound as he ate the rest of the cake. Naruto looked over at the rest of the group each taking their pieces of cake and eating them and for a second Naruto felt like he was hanging out with Kakashi, Sasuke and Sakura again. Naruto let out a small smile.

Maybe these guys aren't so bad after all.

After Naruto's welcoming party was all said and done, Naruto was getting ready to leave when Rias called out to him. "Naruto." Naruto looked back at her. "Now that you've joined, I feel like I should let you know that you are to address me as 'Buchou'."

"No."

"Huh?" Rias asked. Naruto fully turned around to face her and looked her straight in her face. "What do you mean no?"

"I'm not calling you 'Buchou'. Just because I joined you guys doesn't mean I'm gonna call you something different. The others may call you Buchou but I'm not. I'm gonna stick to what I've been calling you. Rias, cause that's who you are." Naruto turned around and walked towards the door and went to open the door but stopped. "Oh and by the way…thanks for this welcoming thingy. You guys didn't have to do that." With his words said, Naruto excited the clubroom.

Rias's face turned a slightly red color as she smiled slightly at the door. "You're…welcome." His words surprised her a lot. For a long time now she wanted someone to see her as just Rias but she never expected it to come from the guy who she had only known for a couple of weeks. It was weird yet nice. Everyone in her peerage calls her 'Buchou' but if he wanted to call her by just Rias, well then she really didn't see the problem with that. Rias was knocked out of her thoughts by Akeno walking up to her.

"Ara Ara, I never thought he would say something like that given how he is."

"Yeah…"

"So, how'd you do it?" Rias looked at Akeno in confusion. "How did you break him?" Rias let out a small chuckle.

"Believe it or not I didn't. He came to me."

"He came to you, Buchou?"

"Yeah, but something went wrong with the ritual. Let me explain."

Flashback

"Naruto, before we do this I just want to thank you for what you've done for us this last week."

"You can thank me by not getting your asses kicked so fast."

"Right." Rias then held up the chess piece towards Naruto's chest. 'I hope this works.' A magic seal appeared behind Naruto. "I Rias Gremory decree that Naruto Uzumaki

shall walk the earth as a devil in servitude to me." Naruto flinched slightly "Rejoice in your new life as my servant!" As the chess piece started to sink into Naruto's chest it suddenly started to glow blue and Naruto let out a hiss. As it sunk in further the piece glowed a reddish orange color and then back to crimson and Naruto let out a grunt.

"Are you okay?" Rias asked. Naruto let out a small breath.

"Yeah, a little warning about the pain would've been nice though."

"It's not supposed to hurt…"

…

…

…

"What?" At that moment the piece fully sunk into his chest. "Argghhh!" Naruto grabbed his chest in pain.

"Naruto!" Rias called out. She didn't understand what was happening. She was sure she said the ritual right. Well as right as it can be considering she didn't know what piece she was actually giving him. Naruto let out a scream as he fell to his knees, one hand gripping his chest and the other gripping the floor.

For Naruto, this felt like hell. It was like something was latching itself onto his skin and started digging. Like very sharp needles. On top of that his stomach was starting to burn, really burn. Naruto put a hand to his stomach as he let out another groan. Rias kneeled down in front of him and grabbed his shoulder.

"Naruto!" Rias looked at Naruto's face and she noticed that his whiskers started to thicken. She looked down when she heard a crack in the floor and noticed that Naruto's nails were growing.

'What's happening to him?' Rias looked up at Naruto's face. Naruto let out another grunt of pain before opening his eyes. His pupils were now slitted and his irises were red Naruto let out a scream before a blast of wind knocked Rias away from Naruto. Rias hissed when she hit the ground. When she recovered she got up and ran right back to Naruto. Rias noticed that his facial features were back to normal.

"Naruto! Are you okay?" Naruto took a couple of deep breaths to compose himself before answering.

"Yeah…yeah I'm fine." Naruto got up from the floor with Rias. Naruto rubbed his chest. "I feel fine actually." The pain he just felt was quickly fading away. "So uhhh did it work?"

"It should have."

"Good, I would've been mad if I went through all that pain for nothing." Though, he wouldn't complain if it actually didn't work.

"About that, I'm sorry Naruto, the ritual wasn't supposed to hurt you." Naruto started scratching his head before shrugging his shoulders.

"It's fine, you didn't know, right? Besides, I've had worse. So don't worry about it." Rias nodded her head at him but that didn't stop her from feeling a little guilty about causing him pain. Naruto clenched and unclenched his hand repeatedly. He didn't feel any different. "So I guess it's done now?"

Rias noticed the hollow tone in Naruto's words and frowned a bit. "Yes it is."

"Well then, I guess I'll see you tomorrow then Rias." Naruto turned around and began to walk out of the room but stopped when he felt Rias's hand on his shoulder.

"Naruto, I know this wasn't what you wanted but I'll try to make the transition into devil life as easy as possible for you. I promise." Naruto stayed silent for a few seconds before letting out a small sigh.

"Yeah…thanks." Rias watched Naruto shrug off her hand and walk out of the room.

'Naruto…'

Flashback end

"So the ritual hurt him? How?" Akeno asked.

"I don't know but I intend to find out what went wrong." Rias said before letting out a sigh. Akeno looked at her in concern.

"Rias?"

"He doesn't want to stay. Naruto doesn't want to stay a devil."

"Well then why did he come to you in the first place?"

"I don't know. I don't understand anything about him. It's like everytime I find out something new about him ten more questions pop up. I want to understand him, Akeno. To help him. I just don't know how to start." Akeno would have laughed at the situation if she didn't see how much this was bothering Rias. This is the first time she had ever seen her so worked up about a boy before. She guessed it might be because of the Gremory's nature to be very affectionate with their family members.

It seems that Naruto's persistence on keeping them at arm's length was starting to get under Rias's skin. If Akeno was telling the truth, she was curious about the boy as well. Maybe not to the extent of Rias but still curious. Plus she was finding Naruto very fun to mess with so she wouldn't mind him staying for a while. "Well then we can always give him a reason to change his mind." Rias smiled at Akeno.

"Right." She made a promise to Naruto that she would ease him into his new life as a devil and she was gonna keep it. Naruto had tough armor that's for sure but she has seen glimpses of the kind person that was underneath it. She didn't know why but…

She wants to see more of it.

"Michael-Sama! We have urgent news!"An angel came running into the room in a panic. A handsome-looking man with long blond hair and green eyes turned around. The man wore a red robe with a gold cross on the front of his white alb. He has golden shoulder plates with a white sash and has a golden halo set above his head.

"What is it?"

"Fragments of the excalibur blade were stolen!" Michael's eyes widened.

"Are there any leads as to who stole them?"

"As of now no, but we are doing our best to find out who did this, Michael-Sama." Michael took a few moments to think.

"Notify the churches to start searching, we must retrieve those fragments as soon as possible."

"Yes, Michael-Sama!"

"Thank you." The angel bowed their head and walked out of the room. Michael walked over towards a window and stared out into the sky. Whoever stole the excalibur fragments needed to be found as soon as possible. Even when broken into pieces the excalibur is still very dangerous if it gets into the wrong hands. Michael prayed that he can recover the pieces soon before anyone else gets involved.

Or worse…

This one was sort of a filler chapter, not really though since it leads into the next arc. Also I know that Naruto becoming a devil is over done but I really like the concept and I've been wanting to make this story for a while. I hope y'all liked this chapter though. Thank you guys for giving this story a shot and sticking with me for this long. I'll see y'all in the next chapter.
