It's My Life

The next morning came rather quickly, Harry and Draco were both up about 3 am for another baby changing and feeding. Harry took care of it so his lover could rest, and then both of them returned to sleep. Harry was up around 8 am to change the kids while Draco fed them and Harry got himself showered and dressed. As both kids went back to sleep, Harry helped Draco with his shower after Poppy came to do her check on him, then the babies. Once Draco was dressed and ready, both of them headed downstairs to greet the other house residents.

Severus wouldn't be leaving until 8:45 am to get back to the school, and he'd already done Harry a huge favor by staying up late to finish grading those papers for him. There were hugs and greetings all around, then breakfast while the babies slept peacefully. Once the meal was done, Severus was allowed to hold the babies first since he had to leave so soon. After Severus left, Draco was able to rest on the couch while Harry handled the baby passing between people.

Everyone got, at least, fifteen minutes with each child before Harry wanted them back in their bassinet to rest. The day went on calmly, everyone just talking until about 6:00 pm when Severus returned with the gaggle of people Harry had asked Minerva to let off the grounds for a few hours, this then included Molly, Arthur, Alice, Frank, Fabian, Gideon, Pandora, Xenophilius, Bill, and Fleur. Remus and Tonks, along with Sirius, and Peter had already been at the manor.

Severus had taken the group through the gates because it was easier than two by two through the fireplace. The rest arrived via the fireplace in the main room. Draco remained sitting as he was still sore, but was given the okay to move around a little bit as long as he didn't strain himself. But Harry was standing with both kids in his arms as everyone filed into the room excitedly.

"You had twins!?" The group shouted at the reveal. No one had known anything other than Draco gave birth and that's why Harry wasn't teaching today and would be for the next month or so.

"Ssh!" Draco sounded, not wanting the kids to wake earlier than the schedule Harry and him were trying to set up. "Yes, we did. One boy and one girl…"

"Settle. I'll bring them around for you to see and hold, but only after they've woken up and eaten." Harry stated as everyone grabbed a seat. "So, Draco went into labor last night at about 9:45 pm. Babies weren't waiting, by the time I got him to my bed; the little boy over here was on his way out. Thankfully, Poppy showed up in the nick of time to deliver him at 10:00 pm. Little miss came later at 10:30 pm." He explained.

"How cute…" Luna beamed. "What are their names, Harry?"

"Well, we decided last night on those before we fell asleep. It took us a bit to come up with the right ones, but I think we got it." Harry said as Draco nodded. "Our son is Lucirius Severus, and our daughter…Is Eilissa Lily."

"Odd names…" Ron said. "Not bad, just never heard them before."

"Harry and I wanted to include important people in our lives, while holding onto some tradition of keeping names in the family." Draco mentioned." So we decided to play around with combining names." He smiled. "Lucirius is a combination of Lucius, Sirius, and Remus. And his middle name is Severus, obviously."

"And our daughter…Eilissa Lily…" Harry began.

"Narcissa and Lily," Tonks smiled. "But what's the Eil, part? No one here has that beginning to their name."

"That is because the person we named her after is not with us, and that woman is Severus's mother…Eileen Prince," Harry informed as Severus's eyes widened some.

"Y-You named your daughter with part of my mother's name?" The man was stunned.

"Of course, how could we not pay tribute to the woman who brought you into this world?" Draco chuckled. "Harry and I are quite grateful."

"And you gave your son my name as his middle?" Severus questioned.

"Well, Harry already carries James as his, then I carry my father's as mine…We wanted to include our second father for our son. You're both our godfather's, but you adopted Harry as your own. We wanted you to be recognized." Draco explained.

"I'm so very touched…" Severus said gently. "It's an honor."

"Okay so…What about their last names?" Sirius asked. "Forgive me for asking, but while the birth is lovely and so is the send-off tribute to all the people you wanted recognized, there's a matter of heir status here. I know for Black, as I told you, Harry…The heirship and lordship can only be passed to a male descendant, but it doesn't have to be the oldest descendant. I don't know where it stands for Potter, Prince, Snape, or Malfoy."

"Malfoy only goes to the first male descendant." Lucius interjected. "Unless that child is a squib, or passes away, then it goes to the next in line."

"Potter is whoever is eldest, does not matter boy or girl." James informed.

"And Snape doesn't matter. There's nothing to pass on for my father's side of the family other than the name itself. Prince, however, is male or female too. Whoever is the eldest." Severus remarked.

"And we've mentioned before that you can only be claimed, by birth, to one line." Narcissa added. "So…Harry, you're lord to three lines, and heir to two…Technically one since Snape doesn't matter, according to Severus."

"Slytherin can also go to any descendant!" Salazar remarked from the wall, where Harry had absolutely placed a picture of the man among others of past family.

"How's this gonna play out, pup?" Sirius questioned.

"Draco is the one who gave birth, so I think as his firstborn son…Our son should get named Malfoy heir. If you're agreeable, Draco?" Harry suggested.

"It's fine with me, but my father is the current lord of the Malfoy family, and we've got our status on the Sacred Twenty-Eight to think about." Draco looked to his father.

"Our status is not affected because of your children's blood status, Draco." Lucius stated.

"If you have half-blood kids, your line is no longer pure…" Remus said. "Isn't that how that ancient list works?"

"Yes, technically…But…Harry and Draco's kids are basically pure blood." Lucius remarked. "To legally qualify as a pure-blood, you have to have four magical grandparents of pure-blood status. So, yes, Harry is a half-blood himself, but…Before the children were conceived," Lucius paused.

"Harry had been blood adopted by Sirius, a pure-blood, with his entire line dating back as pure-bloods. Harry's birth father, James, is a pure blood, his entire family were pure-bloods too, and even Severus's mother is a pure blood. And the Prince line were pure-bloods." He explained.

"Which means Harry himself is considered a pure-blood with not four, but five pure-blooded grandparents." Remus stated.

"And it restores the Potter line back to pure-blood too even though I broke the chain when I married Lily." James beamed.

"Interesting, never thought about that. Also didn't really care. Blood status never made a difference to me." Harry shrugged. "And I made that perfectly clear to a warzone of people. So then we're agreed…Lucirius can take the title of Malfoy heir?"

"Absolutely. But it means he can't carry any other last name but yours, and Malfoy." Lucius nodded.

"Then his name is set as Lucirius Severus Potter-Malfoy." Draco said. "What about Eilissa?"

"Being a girl, she can only take the title of Prince or Potter," Lily enlightened. "And I suppose Slytherin too, heir-wise, but the lordship goes to the strongest, doesn't it?" Salazar and Harry both nodded to confirm that fact. "And Black is out because you don't have another boy."

"Yet." Narcissa chuckled.

"Mother!" Draco gasped. "I just gave birth to twins not even twenty-four hours ago!"

"Fine, fine…Heal for a couple months and then have another." Narcissa sighed.

"In a couple months, Harry and I will be married and on our honeymoon!" Draco glared.

"Perfect time to have another." Narcissa argued.

Draco flopped back, giving up with his mother. "Narcissa…Don't hound them to have more. They're young, there's plenty of time for there to be more children. On that note," Lucius paused. "It would be better if the next child born, if a boy, is birthed by Harry, who has the blood adoption behind him of being Sirius's and Severus's heir. Lord now, but you get my meaning. It would fall under the same we just said for Lucirius. Since Draco birthed him, it made more sense to name him the Malfoy heir as Draco is Malfoy heir too. Until I decide to retire and hand him lordship."

"Then that's what we'll do to cover the Black line, eventually…We'll have another child and I'll carry it this time, as you've already insisted I do so I can…How did you put it, love? Feel your pain?" Harry chuckled. "But for now, as there's a line for Prince…Given Severus is next, then me as his adopted son…I'll name Eilissa as Potter heiress, so she'll just keep her name as Eilissa Lily Potter. Unless you want your name in there too, Dray?"

"Might be nice, but since she's not going to be a Malfoy heir…Put mine before yours. The last name in the list represents her status. So make it Malfoy-Potter." Draco told him.

"Done." Harry nodded. "Then all that is settled until we have more kids and put them where they'll be as heirs." He smiled.

"All that's left to do now is have more kids," Draco teased.

"No, love…There's something we have to do before that…" Harry chuckled. "I believe our wedding is next on the list."

"I believe you're right." Draco nodded. Harry moved over and gave him a light kiss, then Draco kissed the foreheads of their children and Harry followed suit. "Four months."

"Four more months." Harry agreed.

. . .

Those four months blew by so fast, no one even realized where the time had gone. Harry went back to work the first week of December, but it didn't matter as they had Christmas holiday two weeks later. Life was great with everyone, Tonks was giving birth next month, Remus had a strong feeling it would be a boy. Lucius and Narcissa finally moved back to Malfoy Manor, but were hardly ever there because they always wanted to see their grandbabies. Narcissa and Lily always gushed over them.

It was finally March 1st, 1998, and it marked two years that Draco and Harry had been dating. This would always be their wedding so in addition to the years together they got, this would mark their time married to one another as well. Lily, and Narcissa would be taking the kids while Harry and Draco went on their honeymoon. It would only be for a week because neither of them wanted to leave the children for too long.

Minerva had given special permission for those invited to the wedding to leave school grounds on Saturday night, but all had to return tomorrow for classes. Minerva herself was invited, leaving the school in the hands of someone she trusted because Pamona, Filius, and Hagrid were invited too. Poppy couldn't leave the school with no matron for too long, so she opted not to come, but sent her best for the new couple.

Of course, Kingsley, and Alastor were invited. The Weasley's, Longbottom's, Lovegood's along with Seamus, Hermione, Dean, Vincent, Gregory, Hannah, Blaise, Theodore, Alicia, Pansy and Angelina. Harry and Draco invited along the parents for Blaise, Pansy, Vincent, Gregory, and Theodore too. How could they not? The group of them did literally betray Voldemort to his face by walking over to Harry's side, safely crossing the flames.

It proved they were loyal to Harry, never Voldemort. How could they be loyal to the dark lord when the man expected them to fight their own children. As Harry said, family will always mean more. Harry chose Ron as his best man and Draco chose Blaise. Kingsley was actually performing the ceremony as Minister of Magic. Immediate family was sitting in the front row and then rest filed into the other seats behind them.

The backyard was done up so nicely, the elves did a good job of making it a perfect ceremony and reception area in the gardens. Harry was dressed in green and black robes while Draco would be taking on silver and white. Perfect little contrast of them both being Slytherins. Oh yes, this would be a very good day.

When things began at 4:00 pm, Harry stood his place with Ron beside him and then Draco walked out of the house's back door and down the aisle to meet Harry, Blaise was already in his place too. "Are we ready to begin?" Kingsley asked. Draco and Harry both nodded. "Welcome friends, family, and loved ones. All who come in peace to witness the union of Harry James Potter-Snape-Prince-Black and Draco Lucius Malfoy." The minister started. "We are here today to celebrate with them and to share in their triumph as they proclaim their love for one another and the bond their souls have formed together." Kingsley paused.

"Having spent some time with Draco and Harry before agreeing to officiate their hand binding, I've seen the connection between these two souls. Here in this moment, the love that Draco and Harry share between their spirits." Kingsley informed. "Harry. Draco. Let there be no mistake. While the tradition of hand binding recognizes and accepts love as dynamic in nature, it is not to be entered lightly, because it is a sacred and unbreakable vow." He continued after a moment.

"You make these vows today with the understanding that you are committing to be a partner to one another, and to honor the connection your souls now share with one another. These vows are sacred, and they should not easily be broken, as you make them to one another in the sight of these loved ones as witnesses." Kingsley paused. "Knowing this, Draco and Harry, is it your intent to enter into this commitment to one another?"

"It is." Harry and Draco said together.

"You both have a candle on this altar, you must light them to be recognized as the ones bonding with your left hands." Kingsley instructed.

Draco and Harry faced the candles across from them. Draco pulled his wand with his left hand and a flame ignited on his candle, then he put the wand away. Harry, of course, followed suit with his own wand, which had been fixed. Another gift from Death, he lent Harry the Elder Wand to repair his old Holly wood and Phoenix core one. Harry had tried other wands, but nothing ever felt right but his own.

"Let us begin. Connect your left hands, please?" Kingsley asked. Draco and Harry linked their left hands together as Kingsley pulled out the braided rope of six colors and prepared to place it over their readied hands. "Will you share in each other's pain, and seek to protect one another from it and ease each other of it? And will you share in one another's hardships and toil, so that the two of you may grow together?"

Kingsley made the first wrap of the rope around their hands. "Will you share each other's joy, rejoice in it with one another and look for the best always? Will you share in each other's dreams and work together to fulfill them? Kingsley made the second wrap. "Will you use your anger to strengthen and temper the bond between you two and will you honor and respect, treating each other as equals in this bond?"

"We will." Draco and Harry said together.

"Then let the binding be so." Kingsley wrapped their hands one more time. "Three times these cords have woven around your hands to bind you together. Three signifies those present, two for you and one for the magic that binds you. One can be overpowered, but two can defend and three cannot be broken. It not only binds, but protects you together in magic. By the powers of three, so mote it be." He tied the strands together in a knot that kept their hands bound. "Now, the rings…" Kingsley put his hand out as Blaise grabbed one from his inner pocket and gave it to Kingsley, then Ron did the same.

Kingsley handed one ring to Draco, then the other to Harry. "The ring has a special significance within Wiccan, Pagan, and Celtic culture because it is a symbol of unbrokenness. It is also a symbol of completion, as the two of you are now complete. Harry, please repeat after me. Draco, I promise on this day to share your pain, your joy, your burdens, and your dreams, and to help you navigate the maze of life together as our love grows with us."

Harry spoke the words calmly, setting the ring he had been holding in place on Draco's left hand ring finger.

"Draco, now you…Please repeat after me; Harry, I promise on this day to share your pain, your joy, your burdens, and your dreams, and to help you navigate the maze of life together as our love grows with us." Kingsley repeated.

Draco repeated the lines perfectly as he gently slid the band onto Harry's finger. The rings automatically resized to fit them.

"Draco and Harry, having proclaimed the bond of your souls together in the sight of these witnesses, and based on the strength of that bond, and the power vested as the Minister of Magic; I now pronounce you married as husband and husband." Kingsley announced. "Please seal your bond with a kiss!"

Their hands still bound by the ropes, Draco inched closer as Harry managed to get his right hand around the back of Draco's neck and pull him close enough to close the space between their lips. The entire crowd of guests jumped up to clap and cheer for the union and newly married couple. Harry kept the kiss short, but had deepened it slightly before pulling away and releasing the man.

The two flames from their candles sparked and joined together to magically light the one candle in the middle of theirs. The ropes loosened enough to let them pull their hands free after Kingsley nodded to them that it was okay to do so. Kingsley set the ropes around the single burning candle now and bowed to both.

"Congratulations, to you both. I wish you many happy years together." Kingsley smiled.

"Thank you, Minister Shacklebolt." Harry smiled.

"Let's give it up for them!" Kingsley called out as there was more and more cheering from everyone. "I give you, Mr. and Mr. Potter-Malfoy or…Or Malfoy Potter. Whatever, you get it!" He announced proudly. It was just easier to use Potter-Malfoy than having all of Harry's last names be mentioned. Harry and Draco faced everyone, smiling and waving as they were holding hands.

Harry couldn't resist linking his hand around Draco's back and pulling the man close. The man who was now his husband. The love of his life, his soulmate. Harry leaned in and captured Draco's lips in a far more passionate kiss this time, and held it until both had to break for air. Draco and Harry's eyes met softly, nothing but love between them.

"I love you, Harry Snape-Prince-Black-Malfoy-Potter." Draco exaggerated teasingly how much it took to say the names. Snape, Prince, and Black were just there as the adoptions and part of Harry's lordship or heir status. But for marriage reasons, Harry moved to keep Malfoy right next to Potter, so at least they'd match to a degree. Draco had to have Malfoy sitting last for his own heirship.

And Harry signed all things as Harry James Snape-Prince-Black-Malfoy-Potter, which was the reversed version of his name by who he became in order, but obviously, due to his lord status by birth; Harry kept Potter at the very end, just Draco kept Malfoy at the very end. It didn't matter, they were married and it was represented in its own way.

"I love you too, Draco Potter-Malfoy." Harry and Draco faced everyone again, this would be a great night of fun for all. What Harry was excited about was everything it took to get here. Everything and he could finally say that this was his life entirely. Only it really wasn't. It was their future, their life and Harry was going to love and enjoy every single moment of it.

Alright!

There ya go folks! 92 chapters completed for It's My Life.
I hope you all enjoyed it, despite a lot of minor spelling, grammar, or repeat issues. I tend to forget things I have already written in a longer story, and I often overlook when I go back through and edit the chapters before I post them.

Thanks again for being fans of my stories.
I'll have another one up before next week ends.
