A/N My new OC when I wrote this, Amanda, tells her story. Amanda inherited Nia's crew. Because of Nia being a tank engine, Amanda's a diesel shunter, the diesel equivalent of Nia that way.
Hey, it's me, Amanda and this is my story. I'm a diesel shunter bought by NWR after I was built and then tested by the railway that built me. I'm a friendly, practical, sensitive and caring type. When I was still back on my other railway, the one that built and tested me, I saw the scrapyard. I began to cry then, sniffling with small sobs, because I was dreadfully sad. "What's water coming out of my eyes for?" I asked Driver.
Driver knew how sad I was, so he comforted me. "There, there, Amanda," he said, drying my tears with a cloth. "You're sad, so you're crying. It happens when emotion's strong. Just let it all out.". He rubbed my cheeks and wiped the tears from my eyes.
I cried more, letting out another sob as fresh tears poured from my eyes. I said, sniffling, "The engines in the scrapyard suffering hurt me so. It breaks my heart to see it. Anyone suffering makes me very sad.", as I let Driver comfort me.
He said, as he continued to wipe my tears away, "I want you to cry, because I don't like you being sad. I'm here for you, just to dry your weeping eyes. You've got my caring and compassion.". He pressed the cloth to my eyes, so I could sob into it and wiped all my tears away as best he could.
I cried my eyes out, weeping non-stop until my sadness was spent. Driver dried my last tears away, dabbin fmy cheeks of any stray tears and wiping my eyes until they were dry. Then, he refilled my radiator. I smiled as he did so, finding relief in having cried.
I think I could like Sodor. Here I'm safe, as long as I'm a Really Useful Engine. There's a few steam engines on the railway, but that's fine. Thomas, who's one of them, told me about being a Really Useful Engine. He says I, like him, should try always to live up to that. He even told me what it means. Some of the diesels here aren't nice, but I'm making friends with the nicer ones. Thomas is turning into my closest steam friend. I've got to get back to work now.
A/N Amanda's a diesel whose size resembles a tank engine, because she shunts, like they often do, on Sodor.
