After Christmas was over, Autumn finished her breakfast and started playing with her Christmas presents that she got. While she was playing, she heard a doorbell ring. Autumn's mother called her daughter, saying that "Sawyer is here". Autumn went and came downstairs and saw Sawyer and her dad.

Autumn said, "Hi Sawyer."

Sawyer said, "Hi Autumn. You want to go sledding with me at to the park?"

Autumn said, "Can I, mum?"

Autumn's mom said, "Of course, you can go."

Autumn said, "Thanks mum.", then went to go her sled that she got for Christmas and put on her winter coat, mittens, snow boots, hat, and scarf. Autumn then said, "I'm ready."

Sawyer's dad said, "Don't worry, we're bringing her back home before noon."

Autumn said, "Bye mum."

Autumn's Mom said, "Have fun." Then Autumn left to go to the park with Sawyer and her dad.

When they arrived at the park and saw the kids sledding down their sleds, Autumn asked Sawyer, "Where's your mum?"

Sawyer told her that she's on important phone call with her Aunt Fiona, but she said she'll catch up after the phone call is over. Autumn understood, then Sawyer and Autumn went to go downhill while Sawyer's dad was gently pushing them, and the girls were sledding down with their sleds and both giggling. Autumn and Sawyer climbed back up and started go to go sledding again, Sawyer's dad pushed the girls and the girls went down sledding in the hills and both giggling. When they began climbing the hill and go again sledding, Sawyer's mother arrived.

Sawyer said, "Hi mom."

Autumn said, "Hi Mrs. Walten."

Sawyer's mom said, "Hi girls, sorry I took longer, Fiona asked me a lot of questions. I'm here now."

Autumn said, "Give us a push please."

Sawyer said, "Yes mom."

Sawyer's mom said "Okay, here we go." Sawyer's mother pushed the girls and both went sledding down the hill with their sleds, they fall off their sleds when they hit a bump, and both girls were laughing.

A few hours later, Autumn and Sawyer got very cold, so Sawyer's parents took the girls home to make hot chocolate and have some leftover Christmas cookies and cupcakes. After sunset, Sawyer and her parents took Autumn home. Before Sawyer could leave, she asked Autumn to come over to have a sleepover at her place and celebrate New Year. Autumn was excited, so she asked her parents it's that okay, and her parents said yes. Both girls were excited. After saying goodbye Sawyer and her parents went home. Autumn was eating pizza for dinner that her father ordered. After dinner, Autumn was playing her Christmas angel doll, and decided to go see Thomas.

When she arrived on Sodor, it was almost the end of the day and sunset. She found Thomas dropping Annie and Clarabel off the coach yard. Autumn said, "Hi Thomas" and gave him a big hug.

Thomas said, "Hi Autumn."

Autumn told Thomas about her day and most of all, she is going to her first sleepover at Sawyer's house.

Thomas replied, "You must be very excited."

Autumn said, "Yes I am. Maybe someday you can meet Sawyer."

Thomas answered, "Maybe I will. It's almost getting late, you want to go for ride around the railway?"

Autumn responded, "Yes."

Then Autumn climbed aboard on Thomas, and Thomas puffed away. Thomas took Autumn to Gordon's hill, Whisper Woods, Farmer McColl's farm, and Town Square. After that, Autumn got off Thomas and looked around. Autumn said, "Thank you for the ride, Thomas."

Thomas said "You're welcome. It's so much fun."

Autumn made her rounds and found Toby in his shed with a sad face and tears in his eyes. She hugged the little engine and then, as he began to cry, sobbing quietly and sniffling, said, pulling out her handkerchief to dry his tears, "What happened? Let me wipe your eyeballs.". She listened attentively, aiming to be present, imagining how Toby must feel, as she rubbed his sodden cheeks and wiped his wet with tears eyes.

"I-I d-don't cr-cry o-often," he sobbed. "B-But I-I cr-cry v-very h-hard wh-when I-I d-do. S-Something's g-got t-to b-be r-really wr-wrong, l-like m-my s-siblings b-being scr-scrapped.". His crying was still quiet sobs, but lots of tears. He was sniffling hard, coughing, choking on his tears and hiccupping. He gasped and gulped, shaking as he shed big tears, not once stopping and let Autumn comfort him.

She said, as she continued to wipe his tears away, "Just cry, Toby. I'm here for you, not to rush your healing with platitudes or empty promise, just to wipe your pain away. It's okay to cry, given what happened and your emotions. Let it all out. You've got me to wipe your face and dry your tear-filled eyes.". She looked for context and thought of how she could maybe inspire her tram friend, as she held her hanky to his eyes for him to sob into and wiped all his tears away as best she could.

Toby wept non-stop, sobbing until he could no longer cry. Autumn dried his last tears away, wiping his cheeks and eyes dry of tears. She gave him the inspiration she thought of as she put her sodden handkerchief away and went back to Thomas.

Autumn started to yawn.

Thomas told her, "You look tired, I think it's time for you to go home."

Autumn said, "Yes I will. Good night, Thomas. See you later." and hugged him good-bye.

Thomas replied, "Good night, Autumn. See you later."

After saying goodbyes, Autumn arrived home to get ready for bed.

Six days later, it was New Years Eve, and everyone was getting ready at midnight to shout, "Happy New Year!" Autumn was very excited; she was going to her first sleepover at Sawyer's house to celebrate New Year. She packed her pajamas, toothbrush, her Thomas plush doll, and some clothes she could wear when she woke up. Then Autumn and her parents set off to Sawyer's house. When they arrived, Autumn rang the doorbell, and the door opened. It was Sawyer who answered and allowed Autumn and her parents to come in. Autumn and Sawyer watched some New Year cartoons on TV (they watched Happy New Year Charlie Brown and Rudolph's Shiny New Year). After that they had fish sticks and applesauce for dinner. After dinner, Sawyer found a movie to watch and told Autumn, "I love this movie, but it's very sad.". Sawyer put on the movie and as they were watching, pulled out her handkerchief to dab her eyes and wipe her nose.

Autumn said, "I need to wipe my eyeballs.", as she got a tissue she'd brought and wiped her tears. She wiped her nose, too. At the end of the movie, Sawyer was red-eyed and blowing her nose, then wrung out her hanky. Autumn, in similar condition, threw out her tissues after clearing her stuffy, runny nose.

It was midnight, Autumn and Sawyer and their parents about to do the count down. Everyone said "1 Happy New Year!" Autumn and Sawyer jumped and spun around. After it was over, Autumn's parents said good night to her and said goodbye to Sawyer's parents and went home. Before the girls went to bed, they brush their teeth and took a shower, then they read bedtime stories and went to bed with their plush dolls.

Autumn said, "Good night, Sawyer. Happy New Year."

Sawyer replied "Good night, Autumn. Happy New Year." And both girls went to sleep. However, Sawyer woke up the next morning with a dreadful cold. Autumn's parents picked her up and she went back home.

A/N The Christmas angel doll was something the person requesting this wanted, but I got one from a family friend as a young girl. I just thought of something when writing this. When Autumn comforts a crying engine, she wrings out her handkerchief when she's leaving, if it's not fully dry and that dries it completely, but she doesn't bother if she cried into it. The "Six days later" refers to New Years Eve relative to Christmas. Sawyer's the sort of person drawn to sadness, but these girls are autistic, Asperger's would've been the diagnosis excess of 10 years ago, so they don't like tears or being stuffed up. For new readers, Sawyer can't use tissues to blow her nose for sensory reasons, but Autumn just can't use the sandpaper in a box ones, so she needs to take her tissue box from her room, if possible or her hanky, which she uses when there's no suitable to her tissues on hand. Sawyer's parents have tissues for themselves. I'll write them through the rest of age 10 and when they're 11, but that's all. For any readers, Sawyer, when she's older, will be like Autumn regarding tissue, but only off-page, when she's adolescent.
