A/N This is a chapter someone requested. Since when Autumn's 10 actually falls next year in my head-canon, Halloween's Thursday, not Friday, this line being a note to the someone.
It was Thursday during the cold autumn season in October, it was Halloween and everyone was getting ready to go trick or treating and to a Halloween party. At school, Autumn and her class dressed up in Halloween costumes. Autumn was a princess and her new friend Sawyer was a police officer. They had fun at the Halloween party. They ate Halloween cookies and cupcakes and drank apple juice. After school was over and the Halloween party was over, everyone went home to celebrate and get ready to go trick or treating at night.
The bus driver stopped where Sawyer lived, and Autumn and Sawyer got off the bus and told the bus driver, "Thank you and Happy Halloween.". The bus driver told them, "Thanks" and wished them a Happy Halloween too and drove away. Autumn and Sawyer were playing dolls and plush animals while they waited before they go trick or treating. It was 5:20 pm, Autumn and Sawyer were ready to go trick or treating and Sawyer's mom was going with them, since Sawyer's dad had to work and wouldn't be able to take them. Now, they were on their away to go trick or treating. Autumn and Sawyer were having a great time going trick or treating. They got lots of candy in their goodie bags. They stopped at a house one more time before they went home. Autumn pushed the doorbell button and the lady, who dressed up as a mime came, and Autumn and Sawyer said, "Trick or treat". And the lady in the mime costume gave the girls some candy. After trick or treating is over, everyone went home for bed.
Sawyer and her mother took Autumn while Autumn's parents are waiting. Sawyer sneezed as they headed there. The redhead said, pulling out her handkerchief, "I got a horrid cold. I've been feeling extra dreamy all day, like sometimes happens when I don't feel good. I hate stuffy noses, so, since I'm a gallons of mucus kind of person, I blow my nose a lot in a time like this. My colds are always horrid." and, then was blowing her nose, burbling into the cloth. She blew her nose so much she refolded her hanky 5 times on the way to where Autumn's parents were waiting.
Autumn thanked Sawyer's mother for taking her to trick or treat and Sawyer told her mom the same thing and Sawyer's mother told them, "You're welcome.". After saying goodbye, Sawyer and her mother went home, the girl wiping her nose.
Autumn told her parents she had fun at the big Halloween party at school and going trick or treat with Sawyer and her mother. And Autumn's parents were glad their daughter had a good time. Autumn and her parents have fruit salad and noodles for dinner. Autumn was playing her Halloween goodie bag from school and ate three pieces of candy, and she still wore her princess dress. Autumn wonders what Thomas and his friends were doing on Halloween in Sodor so she decided to go see her make believe friends.
When Autumn arrived at Sodor, she could see the children are going trick or treat with their parents and their friends. She could see Thomas over there with Annie and Clarabel, and went to say hello.
Autumn said "Hi Thomas, Happy Halloween.", hugging her friend.
Thomas said, "Hi Autumn, Happy Halloween."
Autumn told Thomas everything, that she had fun at the big Halloween party at her school, and went trick or treating with Sawyer and her mother for the first time and got a lot of Halloween candies in her goodie bag.
Thomas said, "Looks like you had fun today."
Autumn said, "Yes I did, and Sawyer had a great time too since this is her first Halloween since she and her family moved in."
Thomas said, "I'm just waiting for the children so I can take them to the Halloween party at their school."
Autumn said, "Ooh sounds like fun."
Just then the children arrived along with Sir Topham Hatt's grandchildren Stephen and Bridget are ready to go to the Halloween party at school.
Bridget said, "Hi Autumn."
Stephen said, "Hello Autumn."
Thomas asked Autumn, " You want to come to the Halloween party too?"
Autumn replied, "Sure I'd love to."
Thomas told the children, including Autumn, "Hop aboard."
Autumn and the other children climbed aboard on Annie and Clarabel, and Thomas set off for the Halloween party. When they arrived at school, Autumn and the children got off and went to have fun at the big Halloween party. Two hours passed, after the party is over, Thomas took the children home and Autumn stayed behind with Thomas. When they arrived at Knapford, Autumn got off.
Autumn told her friend, "Thanks for inviting me to the Halloween Party at school in Sodor, Thomas."
Thomas said, "You're welcome, Autumn. I can see you have fun."
Autumn replied, "I did."
Autumn then made her rounds, seeing the other engines, including Rosie. Rosie was feeling very sad and lonely, as all the engines were, she thought, ignoring her. When Autumn found Rosie, the little engine's crew were on break. Rosie began to cry, letting out a big sob as great tears filled her eyes and she said, "E-Everyone's i-ignoring m-me t-today. I-I'm v-very l-lonely a-and i-it m-makes m-me s-so s-sad a-and u-upset." Every word was another sob and she sniffled loudly.
Autumn climbed on Rosie's buffers and said, pulling out her handkerchief, "There, there, Rosie. Just cry. Let me wipe your eyeballs.". She listened attentively and did her best to imagine how Rosie felt, rubbing her tear-covered cheeks and wiping her weeping eyes.
Rosie said, "I-I h-hate b-being i-ignored. I-It h-hurts m-my f-feelings.". Fresh tears poured from her eyes and she sniffled again, hard, coughed as she choked on her tears and hiccupped. She gasped and gulped, shaking with sobs as Autumn did her best to comfort her friend.
She said, as she continued to wipe the tears away, "It's okay to cry, Rosie. When I get overwhelmed with emotion, I cry and I need to wipe my eyeballs, to relieve the sting of tears. I'm here for you, not to rush your healing, just to wipe your pain away.". She held her hanky to Rosie's tear-wet eyes and wiped all her tears away as best she could, thinking of context and possibilities for inspiration as she did.
Rosie's sobs subsided and her tears slowed to a stop. Autumn dried her friend's last tears away, wiping her cheeks and eyes dry of tears and gave her the inspiration she thought of, as she put her drippy wet handkerchief away. Rosie's face along with her sore and swollen eyes were red, but she smiled, feeling better.
Autumn gave Thomas a hug and kissed him after her rounds. "Time for me to go, good night," she said.
Thomas said, "Happy Halloween. Good night."
Autumn replied, "Happy Halloween." After saying good night, she went back home.
Autumn brushed her teeth, and took a bubble bath. She was reading her Halloween book about Teddy Bear and his friends goes trick or treat and Halloween party (the Halloween book about Corduroy and Friends), after her bath. Then, she went to bed with her Thomas plush toy and her new Halloween teddy bear who dressed up as a witch.
A/N I don't have any plans for Autumn until next month, when I fulfill the Thanksgiving request. After that request, I have my own plans for her. Sawyer's horrid cold and Rosie crying were my idea, the former inspired by Autumn being sick, like in her previous chapter she was mentioned having had a sniffle and October being a big month for colds and the latter for Hurt/Comfort and me wanting female engines to cry in Autumn chapters.
