Chapter 22
At the spa…
"I don't believe it…"
Lady Tiamat has kept a close eye on Yua, ensuring she was content and rested. But what she is seeing now… was something rather unexpected.
Yua was still in the lake as requested. Kitsune was there to keep her company, but… running around were three young foxes. They kept to their animal form, but Yua watched them with great interest.
She decided to see what this was all about.
Lady Tiamat entered the spa and saw the kits playing, but when they took notice of her, they turned and ran to Kitsune and hid under her kimono.
When Kitsune saw Lady Tiamat, she froze instantly. "Lady Tiamat… what a surprise…"
"Kitsune…" she said offhandedly, yet her eyes peered at her feet. "Would you like to explain this to me?"
She couldn't.
Kitsune was rendered silent, unable to speak of her children.
'Lady Tiamat… this is what happened when the children I lost were brought here' Yua said gently.
She appeared interested now. "How did this happen?" she asked. "To my knowledge, those children were on the brink of death when they were brought to the heavenly realm… Kitsune…"
She began to go on her knees, but, Yua suddenly stopped her from doing so.
'Because of her, the children I couldn't have, still have a life to live and mother to love them… it's all I could ever ask for them, considering the situation…'
Tiamat, was rather stunned to this. Normally a female dragon will take back her young if stolen, Yua doesn't see them as stolen, but saved from a death she couldn't prevent.
"Would… would you like to meet them, Lady Tiamat?" Kitsune asked nervously.
She nodded.
Kitsune leaned down and whispered to her children, they came out from under her kimono as young fox pups. Yet, when they took a human form, they were nearly adults.
But this was odd…
Despite the fact they were Yua's children… they didn't bare her resemblance, the one with white hair has some of Gojo's blue eyes, but… they really didn't look like Yua or Satoru all that much. They did look like Kitsune and her former mate that died in battle.
"Lady Tiamat, we greet thee" The three said very respectfully.
"Have you been told…"
The three nodded. "Yes, we are aware of what happened to us. We were to be born to Yua Tooru, but she was attacked by sorcerers causing her to miscarry. We were taken to the heavenly realm… mom took care of us from there and even gave us a new soul when the other had vanished… please, don't punish our mother!" the eldest with white hair pleaded.
The other two prostrated themselves before her.
Lady Tiamat peered at Yua.
"Are you certain you don't wish to reclaim them?" she asked of her. "By divine law, Yua, they belong to you."
She shook her head. 'By the divine law, it is for those who are born IN the heavenly realm… they were not. I am satified with this, at the same time. I will forget this has happened'
"Yua?!" Kitsune demanded.
'I think it will not help me in the long run Kitsune… because every day I will be remainded of the three I couldn't save… I rather know them as your children, than the ones I lost.'
It was a reasonable request, at the same time, Yua saying this means she meant every word. Usually when a dragon says something seriously like this, it has to be taken as such. No doubt Yua will have her mind erased of this spa treatment, but perhaps the real reason for forgetting this, is so Kitsune can have her children and raise them without another butting in.
"I will honor your request" Lady Tiamat said gently. "How do you feel Yua? You've been here for two weeks now…"
She laid at the side of the lake and sighed. 'Honestly, I don't know what I SHOULD be feeling… I really don't know at this point'
"It's okay too" Kitsune said, "Sometimes you need to sit back and let this happen. I do hope you heal Yua." Kitsune turned to the children and nodded. "We are going to be leaving first, is that okay?"
Yua nodded to this as did Lady Tiamat. "Her treatment is over by now, you are free to do so."
The small family bowed and left.
Yua watched them leave and sighed aloud. "Are you okay?" Lady Tiamat asked.
She nodded.
Tiamat couldn't help but feel that this didn't exactly work as she would have hoped to.
The old goat soon arrived and advised Yua to come out of the lake. When she did, she turned back to her human form and was given a robe and slippers. "Please come this way, we would like to do a check up."
She didn't refuse and sat during their tests. All the medician people were here. Yua's mind was far more at ease since Calypso was among them. She explained every test they did on Yua and the results of them.
It took a few hours but they came back with their results.
"Miss Tooru, by our expertist, we find that you are healed inside, you are capable of having children. At the same time… we understand that your heart isn't into the notion." The old goat explained.
She froze but nodded to this. "I… I fear it will happen again… Who is stopping someone or something else from doing this to me again…" she shook at the thought of it all. Yua suddenly crumbled up and was huddled in the chair.
'I never knew she was in this much shock…' Tiamat thought to herself. 'I don't think she will have children again…' she came to that conclusion rather quickly. The only thing she can do now is encourage Yua's recovery and perhaps see if her daughter Mochi wishes to be turned as well…
