Chapter 1 – Let's start GMG

After the eliminations, Fairy Tail barely made it. Or at least that's what people thought until they announced the second-place finish.

Chapati shouted from the stadium - "Unbelievable, unbelievable... Fiara Tail B team."

Everyone was stunned and Yajima had to repeat the rules to make sure everything was correct. Ur[1] just nodded, enjoying the spectacle. The players of both Fairy Tail teams started talking to each other.

But Lucy focused more on the Raven Tail champions. Her magic signature detection failed to accurately determine his signature. Something was wrong.

"Laxus." - Lucy said suddenly, drawing the adult man's attention.

"What's up, blondie?" - Laxus said.

"How strong is your father?" - Lucy asked bluntly, and Laxus thought for a moment.

"He was an S-class magician, but he left the Guild many years ago, so I don't know what happened after that. And what's going on?"

"Whoever's standing there, it's not Ivan." - Lucy said, discreetly pointing at Master Raven Tail.

"Why do you think so?"

"You know I can feel for magical signatures. If he was actually an S-class mage, he would shine against the background of ordinary people or mages. I don't know what he's up to, but Raven Tail has already got Wendy, so warn the others."

And so Lucy went and warned her team as well.

Of course, she was right, as Nullpudding only targeted Juvie and Gray, so they finished last and the crowd booed them again. Shortly thereafter, they announced their first fight. Lucy vs Flare.

"Okay, guys." - Lucy said telepathically to her spirits - "Raven Tail will definitely play dirty again. Any advice."

"Just take them down before they have a chance." - Aquarias said.

Lucy sighed inwardly. - "Not everyone can cause a tsunami. Although the plan itself isn't bad. We'll have to occupy her somehow, and then hit her with an attack strong enough to make it fall instantly."

"Lucy-sama." - said Capricorn - "Please leave the final blow to me. Considering her body type, I should be able to stun her with one attack to the neck."

"Good idea." - Lucy said - "Loke, you can blind her. Or preferably the entire stadium. Better not to risk Raven Tail pulling any dirty tricks against us again. Especially since we still don't know where their master is."

"No problem, Lucy."

"Your time limit is 30 minutes." - said Mato.

"I have a question." - Lucy said, interrupting Mato.

"Go ahead."

"What is the current time for the shortest fight in GMG history?"

"Um…30-some seconds, if I remember correctly. Why?"

Lucy just smiled and said, "You'll see."

A moment later the gong sounded and Lucy wasted no time. She immediately summoned Capricorn and Loke. Loke immediately cast Lion Brilliance, which blinded everyone except Capricorn, who had his back to him. He immediately hit Flare's vital points and by the time Loke was finished, Flare was lying unconscious on the ground.

The crowd was silent for a moment. Suddenly Chapati spoke up - "What... what happened?"

"These are the two zodiac spirits." - said Yajima - "Probably Lucy ordered them to blind everyone and then quickly stun Flare. The fight must have only lasted a few seconds. She literally won too quickly for us to see it."

"It's amazing!" - Chapati shouted - "Lucy Heartfilia not only won, but she broke the record for the fastest knockout in a GMG fight. Could this be the return of Fairy Tail?!"

"Here. Lucy defeated the dragon seven years ago." - added Ur.

Suddenly everyone fell silent. Again.

"WHAT?!" - shouted the crowd and many magicians.

"Is it true? Mrs. Ur?" - Chapati asked.

"I was there myself. You should have seen her then. It was a nice display of her skills and she has improved a lot, but she hasn't shown us her full power yet."

"Jura-san, were you and your older sister fighting back then?" - Sherria asked.

"Yes." - replied Jura - "It was an excellent fight and fully showed us Lucy-san's skills."

"When did it happen?" - Laxus asked surprised.

"When Fairy Tail was controlled by an evil magician." - Juvia replied - "She summoned a huge white tiger, and earlier she resurrected Gray-sama's Master."

"Actually, she wasn't technically dead yet." - Mirajane said.

"Besides, we helped too." - Gajeel added.

"I didn't know there was someone like that in Fairy Tail." - Ivan said to himself, still wearing the mask.

"Milliana, were you there too?" - Kagura said.

"Yes." - said Milliana - "Lucy summoned a huge cat to fight the dragon."

"But... you defeated the dragon too, right Sting." - Lektor encouraged, being a little uncertain.

"You too, Rouge." - added Frosh.

"But we have Dragon Slayer Magic and she doesn't." - String said in shock.

"Lucy-sama must be incredibly strong." - Yukino said.

Lucy just calmly walked out of the stadium, smiling knowing how she had shocked the crowd. Now they couldn't ignore Fairy Tail any longer.

Or at least that's what she thought until Jellal was dealt with by Meldy. At least they had one win today.

Still, today they celebrated like there was no tomorrow. They had a slow start, but at least people had a reason to party. But they had to stop as soon as Bacchus appeared.

"Yo, it's Erza." - Bacchus said in his drunken tone.

"You stink." - was Erza's only response.

"You're such a hottie, as always."

"You know him." - Lucy asked, approaching the drunk magician.

Bacchus just turned around and said - "Wow. She's our little dragon slayer, after all. Tell me, is it true that you defeated the dragon or is it just boasting?

"Technically, it was a Celestial Spirit, Azure Dragon, and it was controlled with a forbidden spell. I just helped him get free." - said Lucy.

"Well, it's still quite an achievement." - Bacchus croaked, and Lucy decided to move away from him.

And so, after the event, they went to sleep and started the next day of the games.

Natsu, Gajeel and Sting had a terrible start.

Raven Tail then decided to be a bad guy again when Kurohebi destroyed Tobi's sock.

But the fight between Elfman and Bacchus drew huge crowds. The winning roar signaled 10 more points for Fairy Tail A.

Then there was a modeling show. It means Mira vs. Jenny and 10 points for Fairy Tail B.

And finally Kagura vs Yukino.

This fight particularly interested Lucy, as Yukino was also a Celestial Spirit Mage. Plus she had the other 2 Zodiacs, even though both of them were defeated by Kagure, the last sentence gave Lucy a lot to think about.

"13th Gate? Is that what she said?" - Lucy repeated in surprise.

"What's wrong, Lucy-san?" - Wendy asked.

"Remember of the White Tiger and the Azure Dragon." - Lucy said, and Wendy just nodded - "The 13th Gate most likely means Ophiuchus' Black Key, Ophiuchus. It is more powerful than the other Zodiac keys and belongs to the same category as those previously mentioned by me."

"This thing has the strength of a dragon?" - Natsu asked surprised.

"How is Kagura supposed to win this?" - Gray added, equally surprised.

"He's not as strong as the Dragon." - Lucy quickly interrupted them - "Actually, this is the weakest of the colored keys, but summoning it still requires the strength to open at least 2 gates at the same time."

"So how strong are the rest of the colored keys?" - Erza asked.

"Equivalent to at least 3 zodiac gates." - Lucy replied.

"Wait a second." - Gray interrupted her - "Then how did you summon that big Tiger."

"Someone else was giving me magical energy." - Lucy replied bluntly.

Unfortunately for Yukino, even Ophiuchus didn't stand a chance against Kagura. And so the second day of the Magic Games ended.
