Chapter 7

-Maz's Castle Ruins; Takodana-

Lia immediately drew her blasters sending shots at stormtroopers that began shooting at the X-Wings from the Resistance. She growled softly rolling out of the way before watching in fascination as a black X-Wing charged its way through the First Order forces. A small yet sad smile made its way onto her lips as she realized that Poe was indeed alive, but he would probably hate her for how she left. Lia shook her head before noticing something in the distance and paled. "No," she breathed and sheathed her blasters before taking off in the direction of a large First Order shuttle seeing Kylo Ren holding an unconscious Rey. Cecilia cursed and activated one of her blades before throwing it using the Force to cut down one of the stormtroopers. She panted heavily as she caught her orange saber glaring at Kylo Ren who stopped in his tracks and turned seeing her while holding Rey. "Let her go," Lia demanded.

Kylo stared at the woman before him in slight shock. He distinctly remembered her having a yellow blade…never an orange blade. Had she made her crystal bleed 6 years ago? Had she tried to heal it? Clearly she hadn't been able to heal it enough if the blade still had an orange hue instead of a yellow hue. He glanced down at the unconscious girl in his arms before looking at the stormtrooper on the ramp. "Kill the Jedi," he ordered as more men ran down the ramp. He looked at the blonde woman once more before turning away as the troopers got off the ramp to try to kill her.

"Ben!" Lia yelled loudly deflecting the blaster shots that were coming towards her. She saw Kylo freeze at the name before he glanced at her over his shoulder.

"Ben is dead. Only I remain," Kylo said darkly as the shuttle's ramp closed leaving Lia to the devices of the troopers that were starting to fall to the ground.

Cecilia growled loudly as her anger finally took over her movements while fighting this new wave of troopers. She panted heavily while glaring at the sky where the shuttle had flown off. She needed to save Rey from that monster before he discovered how powerful she could potentially be. With a loud scream of anger, she released the pent up energy as Force energy that she had felt building up while fighting the First Order. Lia closed her eyes as she heard Finn run up to her yelling Rey's name. She turned placing a hand hard on Finn's shoulder to stop him. "We'll get her back," she whispered. She turned her head towards where the shuttle had flown off glaring darkly. "I refuse to let that monster keep ahold of her."

Finn frowned slightly before nodding reluctantly and following Lia towards a transport ship. He paused as he saw Lia freeze suddenly and looked to where she was staring and went wide eyed. General Leia Organa was standing and speaking with Han Solo. "Lia? Are you okay?" Finn asked softly.

"She's actually here," Lia murmured in slight shock seeing her mother. Her hazel eyes looked away from Leia as her mother turned feeling eyes on her person. She bit her lip trying to work up the courage to look her mother in the eyes. The 24 year old Jedi looked back up at her mother and nearly burst into tears right then and there as Lia could feel the sudden overwhelming sense of love from the regal woman. Cecilia stumbled slightly as Finn pushed her towards her mother who was walking towards Cecilia before the blonde took off running towards the brunette. Lia practically tackled Leia in a tight hug while holding back tears after not seeing her mother for four years. "I'm sorry," Lia murmured sadly into her mother's neck.

Leia frowned slightly as she held her daughter holding back her own tears. She held onto Lia with one arm while her other hand gently stroked the tangled blonde hair her daughter had. "Cecilia…you have nothing to be sorry for," she whispered softly. Leia pulled away from her daughter gazing at her baby girl. She had changed in the last few years. The rest of her baby fat was gone. Her eyes were harder and full of emotions that she could see she was struggling with.

"But I could have stopped him…I could have stopped Luke or stopped Ben or saved Rey or something…Anything!" Lia exclaimed slightly pulling away from her mother. She bit her lip lightly as she furiously wiped away her tears that had slowly started to spill. The blonde frowned as her mother grabbed her face lightly.

"You couldn't have known what would happen, Cecilia. None of what happened is your fault," Leia said sternly. "Now hold your head high…and let's get back to base okay?" she asked softly.

Cecilia swallowed gazing at her mother before nodding slightly. She was nervous going back to the Resistance base because of who would be there. Cecilia glanced at her father and murmured, "I'm gonna go warm up the Falcon," before running off towards her father's ship to prime the engines. A frown crossed her lips as she heard Chewie behind her. "Oh shush, Chewie. I am not avoiding the inevitable," she sassed the Wookie. Her jaw dropped as she heard Chewie speak again before she snapped her head towards him. "What the hell is that supposed to mean? What do you mean BB-8 told you all the details?!"

Chewie sat in the co-pilot seat as he helped Cecilia prep the ship. *He told me all about how you don't want to interact with a certain pilot…He also told me what happened between you and said pilot before you left the Resistance.*

Cecilia growled and plopped down glaring at the round droid who had ventured into the cockpit. "You little snitch!" she exclaimed before focusing on the ship as her father arrived raising an eyebrow at the tension between everyone. The blonde Force wielder punched in the coordinates and quickly took off and putting the ship into Hyperspace before glaring again at BB-8 who gave guilty beeps. "You are a brat BB-8. I can't believe you would tell Chewie all of that!"

BB-8 beeped rapidly and shivered before rolling to her leg and moving his dome head to rest it on her leg as if to say sorry for what he did.

Cecilia groaned and against her better judgement reached down to lightly pat BB-8's dome head. "You're lucky you're a cute droid," she grumbled to herself. Lia swallowed as she heard Finn and her father sit behind her and Chewie before she took off following the Resistance ships smirking slightly as she passed Black Leader knowing full well he had seen that the ship that passed him was the Falcon. She could hear Chewie laughing next to her and stuck her tongue out at the Wookiee before focusing on entering D'Qar's atmosphere. Lia bit her lip as the Resistance Base requested the ship's id. "I'll do you one better…Agent ID….Fulcrum…Access code…0313392," she said. Cecilia gave Finn a sheepish smile as he and her father went wide eyed in shock at hearing the name her mother had asked her to take on. She could tell Finn was pale as the name Fulcrum was legendary because it was first used in the Rebellion against the Empire…and now it was used in the Resistance.

"You're Fulcrum?!" Finn asked in shock. "That is…oh wow. I was not expecting that. No wonder the First Order became more at ease four years ago…you weren't-"

"I wasn't as active over the last four years because well I was on Jakku and would almost never leave. I went on two missions as Fulcrum over the last four years and even then, they weren't sanctioned by the Resistance…at least it wasn't sanctioned in their records…Mom sent those missions via a courier and even then they were heavily coded," Cecilia explained as she gained clearance to land and flew onto the surface of the planet. She felt nerves wracking her body because Poe was so close. The Force User looked up at Chewie as he placed a comforting hand on her shoulder to reassure her.

"What missions did your mother send you on?" Han asked frowning.

"Children who were particularly strong with the Force needed to be saved from the First Order for one of them…Another was getting in contact with an old friend of Uncle Luke's and Mom's," Cecilia said cryptically. She wasn't about to give away the missions she had done unless her mother specifically asked about them. The blonde frowned looking at Finn for a long moment as if she sensed something coming from him…and it wasn't the lightsaber. She blinked rapidly and shook herself out of the odd feeling and stood once she cut the engines of the Falcon. A soft chuckle escaped her throat as Finn quickly left the cockpit to try and find Poe for BB-8.

"Why did you give him that look?" Han asked as he stood.

"I felt the Force from him…It was hidden beneath something, but I could tell it was there waiting to be awakened," Cecilia whispered. "Something sparked when he took Luke's lightsaber…If I feel anymore from him…I might take him as my apprentice."

"Even after the academy failed?" Han asked.

"No…the academy didn't fail…Luke did. He failed all of us. It was because of him that Ben fell the way he did. It was because of him I made my yellow crystal bleed. He let himself be blinded as he tried to stick with the old ways of the Order instead of trying to teach balance. If there is anything I have learned over the last few years, it's that there is no light without the darkness and no darkness without the light. It is because of the light we have shadows," Lia told her father who frowned at her. "Did Luke not tell you want really happened that night?" she asked softly.

"What are you talking about?" Han said frowning.

"While it's true Snoke was starting to speak with him, Ben was almost back to the light because of the guidance I was giving him...how those apart of the living Force were speaking to him through me. Luke did not believe me and took matters into his own hands. That night, our hut collapse when Ben defended himself…" Lia pulled up her tunics showing a long, nasty scar. "This came from Luke's lightsaber…both he and Ben left me under the rubble…it was at the moment I felt anguish and made my yellow crystal bleed red…in order to save myself just before the Resistance arrived looking for Luke. Mom helped the best she could…but I was only able to heal my crystal to the color orange. That alone took two long years."

"That was when you left?" he murmured softly seeing her nod.

"Yes…I couldn't stay with how much I was struggling," Cecilia answered and left the ship slowly walking down the ramp just as Poe looked over from talking to Finn and BB-8 towards the Falcon making her freeze part way down the ramp. The blonde swallowed and looked down unable to meet Poe's eyes as she could feel the other stares as the Resistance had known she and Poe were basically an item but had never announced it to anyone…even her mother. She stumbled when she felt someone push her and turned to see Chewie behind her before he motioned to Poe and then her as if he was urging her to go. Lia continued down the ramp as she saw Poe rushing towards her…her nerves growing with every step the pilot took.

Poe had seen Lia come out of the Falcon and felt his chest tighten. Four years was far too long to have not seen her, but somehow in that time she had become even more beautiful than she had been 4 years ago. He didn't care if she was covered in soot and dust from the battle on Takodana. He felt BB-8 bump into his leg telling him to go to her. He could see she had changed…especially her hair as it was nearly double the length it had been. His legs began moving on their own as he walked towards her before the walking turned into running until he was a few steps away from her panting softly. "Cece," he said breathlessly. He had been the only one to call her that besides her brother.

Lia gasped softly as she slowly closed the distance between them. "Hi," she whispered back to him lightly. She swallowed thickly gazing at him for a long moment. The blonde woman felt her cheeks and neck heat up as Poe lifted a hand to brush a stray hair out of her face. She went wide eyed as he suddenly hugged her tightly. Tears began blurring her vision as her lower lip trembled, and she quickly returned the tight hug just as quickly. "I'm sorry," she whispered into his shoulder.

"You should be….You promised to give BB-8 an oil bath," Poe murmured back to her in a light tone while fighting back his own tears of happiness that Cece was back. "Please don't ever leave like that again," he whispered.

"I can't promise that I won't be leaving for missions…but I'll tell you if I can't do it anymore," Lia said back as she pulled away from the hug looking up at him shyly.

Poe looked down at her shaking his head slightly. "You're so stubborn. I wonder which parent you get it from."

"Both," she quipped gently making him snort slightly.

"Thank you for saving BB-8," Poe said rolling his eyes.

"Poe…he's your companion and friend…of course I'd save him," Cecilia said strongly.

"Now Finn mentioned a friend of yours getting taken by the First Order…He also mentioned knowing the base they took her to. Do you know where the General is?" he asked gently.

"If anything…she'll be in the command room," Lia said as she grabbed Poe's hand and rushed to Finn before grabbing his hand and dragging them both to where her mother was inside the base so they could save their friend.
