Normal POV | 6 Years Later

The sounds of a radio news channel coming from an old radio, sitting upon a table. The noise covered the slightly empty yet disordered bedroom, where a much thinner Kyo was laying down against his bed, listening to the meteorologist from his bedside.

"I can say the clear skies will being lasting a good couple more days before an overcasting will oversee the Bay Area until Friday-"

A good amount of beer bottles surrounded the end table beside him. Kyo's face looked exhausted and dull, even a 5 o'clock seemed to be growing in as well. His pajamas looked wrinkled and raggedy. He wasn't even keeping up with his dental hygiene as his two fangs were slightly chipped at the top. He truly let himself go.

It was currently 8am, the time was close as 11-year-old Hinami was running late for school. However, Hinami was old enough to walk herself to school. She was only 10 minutes away, by a trolley.

She was putting on her school shoes, grabbing her brown, worn down backpack and picking it up to finalize her preparation and heading out the door, not even saying goodbye to her father, who was still laying in his room.

The rift between Hina and her father was growing by the years. Countless job searching from Kyo as his opportunities grew slimmer. His alcohol addiction was even more prevalent as his entire room was starting to look like a beer distributor. Beer packs, vodka cases, wine bottles everywhere. It was horrific.

His career as a sumo wrestler was out the door. It was at first a hiatus as he did announce the death of his wife. He indeed got support from fans, colleagues, his now ex-coach and assistant and co. But things went south after his 6-month hiatus, he was already falling into his alcoholism and ended up going to jail for minor assault and battery to a bartender at a nearby beer joint in the heart of Tenderloin. He stayed 3 days in the county jail before being bailed out by his coach and his entire career was burnt. The news knew about his canon events and even the sumo wrestling organization cut Kyo loose.

Fans lost faith in the recovery of 'Kyo-sumo', colleagues and rivals that were once their opponent became estranged and lost contact. Kyo lost almost everything, he still hasn't been attending community service or paying off his debts. He was going bankrupt.

That's when he and Hinami had moved from the highlights of Outer Sunset of the Bay to the slumps between Bayview Hunters Point and Bayview District, near the piers, on a boat…

That's all they can afford. Even the money that he gets from the government now only gets them food (mostly booze), and shelter, that's it. Even Hinami's clothing and hygiene has been halted because the amount of money isn't enough for her basic needs.

Once Hinami was sitting along the trolley, riding along in the heart of the center of town, she would see a couple of heroes doing autograph signings. One of the heroes presented was none other than Captain Celebrity, his chiseled smile, swooning all the fans that were before him. She was intrigued by the public. How heroes don't have to worry about being judged because they have flashy quirks to give off the vibes that they have it all together, they are perfect in every way. Meanwhile, in Hina's mind right now I was wondering if one of her bullies was in class today. Does she have to deal with more of their harassment?

She wished her quirk was as flashy and simple as the other heroes that exist in the country. Her quirk is the reason why she's in her fourth go-around of education as she was expelled from three different schools, due to reckless, impulsive behavior. Similar to her situation she is in now, dealing with very difficult classmates. Her father seems too busy with his own pain to even see her daughter still struggling.

Once she got off the trolley, she was standing before her school building and she walked in, late to her class, the homeroom teacher very dismayed by the tardiness, as usual. The students snickered or snarled at Hina's presence as she sat down and covered her dirty face with her folder from her worn down, broken up, brown sack that was used for father's old job. He couldn't afford to buy her a new bag, so she had to use what she got.

The students kept talking amongst themselves until the teacher directed them back to the front of the board. Even after the lesson, the teacher sat down with Hina. Despite the disappointment, the teacher for once, out of all the schools; the young girl had to deal with cognitively absent leaders and such, Ms. Donna was actually concerned. She indeed noticed how distant her fellow pupil from the other students, she assumed Hina needed to interact more and maybe meet new friends alike.

"Hinami dear, you just need to open up a little more to your peers. I know it's a little scary to meet someone new. You've only been here for a couple months, I believe it's time."

Hinami's simple response was a short and fast, 'no' and walked away from the conversation. Her body language initially was already closed off and reserved, the teacher's plot to open out her student has failed.

This was just another problem for her today. The students were on demon time as Hinami would walk past, the girls would talk down on her looks, the boys would call her names about her face and ears.

"FISH LIPS!"

"BROKE GIRL!"

"PROBABLY DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO WASH HER FACE!"

"UGLY GIRL!"

"WEAKLING!"

"SHE LOOKS TOO SKINNY TO FUNCTION!"

"DO YOU EVER EAT?"

The taunting continued during the transitions of classes, down the halls, in the bathroom, throughout the entire morning, echoing the same old life for Hinami. This was her normal. She used to the point that she doesn't even respond back, what's the point to her? They're not wrong.

To her, she is nothing and nothing she is. She was giving up on fighting back. Letting the punches hit her as she goes through life. It didn't matter to her anyways.

Until recess, it was something that moment with those two girls that just…urged her to her breaking point. The cycle continues to repeat itself.

She was sitting down, playing with her crochet yawn, learning to crochet something for the sake of distraction and dissociating from the noise, it was nothing but a safe haven for her, she wanted to relax. But there were two girls who were gossiping and smirking with sinister looks over at Hinami and laughing amongst themselves.

One would say aloud, "Look at her…she still looks as ugly as ever. Her hair looks split, and her face looks extra dirty today!"

"I know," another would continue, "I heard her father was once a sumo wrestler! Then he ended going to jail-"

"Probably stealing candy from a baby-"

"Or stole money from an old lady..."

"It's a shame…he had to steal money from old people because of how poor they are now!"

"Poor lil Hina. Not only did a poor father but a dead mom too-"

How do they know that? Hinami's eyes would widen as forced back to into reality. Where did they hear this from? How? When?

"The teach' was loud in the classroom earlier with the principal." The girl would cross her arms as she saw that she was provoking and it was surely working as Hinami would be frozen in her place. "They didn't have to tell your business out there like that- now we know!"

"POOR LIL' HINA! HER MOMMY'S DEAD AND HER DAD'S BROKE!"

"POOR UGLY LITTLE HINAM-"

The silence grew louder as the student body that was in the gated playground noticed Hinami, standing before one of the girls, who was stunned, nose bloody and face bruised.

The siren side of Hina was forming as her spark teeth were enlarged, eyes narrowed, and pupils shrunken. Heavy breathing from the redhead as her entire body was transformed into a more intimidating and disturbing creature-like figure. It would remind someone of a child version of Godzilla. It was quite a sight to see. The kids thought that this was the perfect opportunity to fight back as if Hinami was a villain that entered the schoolyard, not knowing it was yet another student and needed to defend.

This led to a giant brawl outside the playground as the teachers and staff needed to step in and remove every last student from each other, defusing the big altercation. Even the janitors had to come in to help out, very taken aback from all of this chaos. From the bottom of the big pile of students, Hina, who was back to her normal human self, was bruised but the most feral out of all of the students.

This girl blacked out and was on a rampage, she even lashed out and lunges after Ms. Donna, growling on top of her head. Her eyes were in disbelief, slightly fearful from the girl's appearance. This is where she forcefully escorted Hinami to the principal office by staff.

After everything had died down and everyone was back in class, everyone except Hinami, who was indeed in that office, alongside her was her father, Kyo and before them both was the head principal herself.

And this is where things go from here. The seriousness from the principal's tone did not make this situation any easier..

"Mizuchi…we need to discuss a few things. It will surely be quick."
