Chapter 21 Invasion's End
"Shikamaru" POV
"This is so Troublesome!" I yelled as I grasped the situation in my head what we where about to do.
'We are about to fight a Chakra beast with enough power to destroy a village on a giant toad…life is so Troublesome' I thought as we approached towards the beast trying to skin us all with his looks.
"Hang on small fry's" Gamabunta said as he gripped the handle of his sword as ran abruptly started to rush Shukaku as I almost straight up fall off the road as Naruto stumbles, Ino and Choji hold on with both there feet and palms with chakra sticking in like a Spider-Man pose and Sakura and Sasuke stood just using all there Chakra to stay on each other and Gamabunta as the giant pick up of wind coming from the suddenly change in velocity blew almost helped all of us fall off the toad.
'How can Jiraiya even ride this toad I feel like I'm going to fall any minute!' I though as Gamabunta approached Shukaku fully drawing out his sword which resembled a Katana as brought it up defensively in front of him.
Shukaku replying in kind brought his right arm in defense from the attack as Gamabunta reached Shukaku Gamabunta stopped the sand arm and proceeded to slice the arm clean off the beast as both the arm and Gamabunta flew in the air as the arm previously attached just completely changed back into normal sand as the arm slowly went apart as Gamabunta landed behind it skidding to a stop as the sword was caught with the arm falling away from Gamabunta's reach.
"Wow that Fucking Hurt!" Shukaku screeched as the abnormal voice shock from its volume while some others just stared at the Chakra Beast with more intensity.
"I-I need to get out of here…Gaara…" Temari said as she struggled to get up with the Paralysis poison in the Senbon that Ino threw at her.
She continued to struggle until she got on both of her feet and desperately jump away very slowly trying to go abandoning her fan as with the added weight she wouldn't be going far.
"Wind Style: Air Bullet" Shukaku Said and puffed his stomach out and punched it back unloading a giant blast of wind which Gamabunta jumped over as everyone in attendance struggled to keep standing as most people fell straight on there backsides.
"What is this battle turning into!?" Sasuke yelled as he saw another gigantic jutsu coming from the Toad.
"Water Style: Water Bullet." Gamabunta said as he shot a bullet of water at Shukaku only for it to collide into another Wind Bullet.
Gamabunta landed on the ground and jumped once again and quickly turned around to face the Tailed Beast as they both performed Jutsu.
"Water Style: Water Bullets!" "Wind Style: Air Bullets!" They both screamed as multiple shots of air and water was shot and collided in the air. Though what we didn't see was the next Air Bullet coming our way colliding with Gamabunta as he grunted in pain and we were covered in smoke.
"Yes I killed them! I killed them All!" Shukaku yelled seeing smoke erupt from Gamabunta.
"What can we do!? There's absolutely nothing really in our arsenal to fight tailed beast!" I yelled in frustration as everyone kept there heads ahead as I looked ahead as well x
"Shikamaru-Kun." Sakura said as I turned to the sound of her voice in the erupting smoke.
"I know that you can find something that could help in this battle and if anyone can find it, it would be you…Shikamaru-Kun." Sakura said slowly as my eyes widened and I smirked a bit.
'I shouldn't let this happen to me…what can I see with my knowledge.' I look over everyone though the smoke covered them there silhouette came up as my eyes widen slightly at the faces I see. They look the ones you see in those brief scenes in Anime as everyone on Gamabunta where standing smiling at me and I smiled back seeing them.
'Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Ino and Choji plus myself with Pakkun and Gamakichi…what can we do.' I thought determined to make that difference.
'Naruto as of now as what about after doing 2 Summonings and a Jutsu maybe before…I…I have an idea.' I looked down and looked at my fingers and formed a fist.
"Naruto!" I yelled into the smoke as I heard a yelp from Naruto as he probably turned to his sides to hear my voice.
"Make a ton of clones and I mean as many as you can." I say as Naruto didn't reply immediately as the smoke started to dissipate when we landed on the ground.
Naruto looked towards me through the now clearing smoke and I nodded at him and he contemplated it then nodded himself creating over about 1000 clones all over Gamabunta's head and shoulders.
"Sasuke I need your help converge on me." I yell as I heard a "Hn" come from my right as Sasuke walked into view from my left as a Naruto came from my left.
"Ino do you have a non poisoned senbon." I said to her as she turned to me and she looked through her pack and nodded sending me a couple that I grabbed as the rest fell lifelessly sliding right off the Toad as Ino looked blankly at me. I gave her an exasperated smile and I pull a scroll I had in one of my many pockets.
'I knew these pockets would come in handy.' I thought as I rolled the scroll on Gamabunta's head and placing my hand on the sealing array and putting Chakra in the seal and gaining the desired thing to poof into life.
It was the makeshift boat we all made to get to the land of waves.
'I can't believe I still have it in here I didn't think I would need it but hey I will use it now.' I thought as I looked at the two genin just staring blankly at me.
'From that little demonstration of using a transformation as an actual shield and it staying means Naruto's clones or the jutsu it used can keep its shape unlike a normal transformation so based on that we could…heh' I smile at the possibilities of this but I shake my head to get back on the topic.
"Naruto could you turn into a hot air balloon." With that Naruto and Sasuke looked at me shockingly like I was crazy but I continued to stare with an unyielding gaze as he eventually relented and transformed into a giant ballon.
"That's it every other except four of you transform like shuriken loaded with explosive tags!" I yelled as more Naruto clones came and riddled transformed as explosive tag shuriken completely covering the boats floor and a couple more.
As of now I asked for the Senbon was to tie a bit of ninja wire and tie it to the boat and with my speed now I could do it faster though I will need some time bought.
"Can the rest of you hold him off for a short time!" I yell as they all look at me and nod.
Knitting wasn't my strong suit but I had a couple of my teachers and my mother had to drill me to it when I ripped my own clothes so by when I finished connecting them as they looked a bit goofy with the ballon down but that was about to change as I looked at the four Naruto clones.
"One of you clones I would want to change into a furnace and another into coal to power the furnace into the ballon sending us high." I motion as both the clones do just that and place themselves straight attached to the boat filled with shuriken.
"The other two of you will be our movers you'll use your wind ninjutsu to maneuver us through the air as you guys will be mostly behind me and Sasuke." With that the two clones nodded and firmly stood on the backside of the boat as Sasuke turned to me.
"So your plans to use me to help fuel it with fire ninjutsu while we also pelt him with Explosives!" Sasuke said unbelievably." I nodded and gave him a smirk.
"Yup" I kept my smirk as Sasuke looked with his own smirk saying in a whisper "this Nara heh"
"Naruto we need a couple more clones." With that Naruto was take out of concentration and looked back and quietly created a few more clones about twenty to help pull it up right with more Ninja wire as Sasuke started to fuel it.
"Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!" Sasuke said using his jutsu as a constant stream of fire blowing into the Furnace or Burner whatever it really was it was still working as we picked off the ground.
"Hot Air Balloon Created!" I yell as we pick off from Gamabunta as everyone stared at us.
"Wind Style: Great Breakthrough!" Both Naruto's said quickly as I looked at Sasuke and quickly said something.
"Plant your feet with some chakra right NOW!" I said as we moved forwards very fast.
Meanwhile they were building the Hot Air Balloon
"We need to buy time but we can't move do you think you can handle that." Naruto screamed at Gamabunta as the great big Toad sighed.
"I might need a little help though, I will run out of Chakra before Shukaku so I need your help." Gamabunta said as all the people Shikamaru didn't call on showed up at the front of the Toad's head showing them to be Naruto or the real one, Sakura, Ino, Choji, Gamakichi and Pakkun who was standing closer to Sakura at the moment as Gamakichi was still on Naruto's head.
"Yea anything!" Sakura shouted quickly wanting to be of use to not just her team but the whole village. With similar sentiments all the rest of the Shinobi on the Toad's giant head agreeing with the amount of wanting to help.
"Do any of you know Collaboration Ninjutsu" Gamabunta said as the smoke finnaly cleared from the front view as they heard Shukaku sneer at them.
"How are still alive!" The Tailed beast screamed in quite audible rage.
"Hah that barely hurt!" Gamabunta taunted then looked on top of his head to see everyone shake there heads in negative.
"Oh I can do it." Gamakichi said excitedly as spoke from Naruto's head gaining all the attention of the Shinobi's and Pakkun.
"Collaboration Jutsu are when both Jutsu's of the user's synchronized usage so Dad's natures are Water and Fire so if you guys help my dad by performing the same Justu or similar jutsu then it'll make it stronger. With that Ino, Sakura and Choji's eyes widened and with that Gamabunta raised his voice to be known again.
"Hmm so you three got to help when I channel my chakra for a jutsu you might want to help me with the time." With that they all nodded getting ready to hold on with this battle.
"Pests don't you Humans know when to die!" Shukaku said as the tailed beast regrew its previously sliced off arm.
"How could he just regrow limbs like that!?" Ino said as the failed beast regrew its own arm from all the said finally getting to him making his arm again.
"It doesn't matter what we need is for Naruto to wake up the Jinchuriki and perhaps what those kids doing or what I feel like there doing will help us get close enough to send you." Gamabunta said as he looked on ahead to see the Tailed Beast slamming a hand on its belly using its now pro dominant hand that was grew back sending a bigger air Vacuum bullets now. "Wind Style: Air Bullets!" Shukaku said.
"Now brats." Gamabunta said as he ran through hand seals both Sakura and Ino ran at the same time saying the same thing "Water Style: Water Bullet!" They all said as Water came from Gamabunta's mouth at a bigger volume then before as it smashed through the first Air Bullet but collided in on itself with the second one having all the water fall on the Forest floor as Shukaku grunted annoyed and slammed his hand again on his stomach sending more Air bullets.
"Now you Kid!" Gamabunta ordered as Choji nodded following Gamabunta's hand seals forming the last one expelling a gigantic fire ball. "Fire Style: Great Fire Ball Jutsu!" They both said as the fire ball was enhanced by the wind of the Air Bullet as Shukaku took the time to dodge out of the way almost hitting the giant ball of fire as it soared into the air eventually exploding in the air avoiding a fire to happen in the leaf.
More encounters went on like this rapidly burning through there Chakra Reserves as more Jutsu's they used the more they would mess up now they didn't have the crispness of the original jutsu's as they were currently running out of Chakra.
"This is bad." Pakkun said as he hunched down to cover himself behind Naruto.
"Hey it'll be fine now so don't wo-" Naruto was cut off by Shikamaru asking for more clones which he quickly created and sent towards Naruto.
"Was is he making over there" Naruto questioned as he looked back at his clones grabbing onto ninja wire.
"I don't know but…ugh…I know Shikamaru will make it useful I can say that." Choji said as he was huffing a bit trying to catch his breath from the exhaustion of the situation.
"Y-yea if I know someone who would pull through it would be Shikamaru." Ino said with a bright smile with a bit of red tinting her cheek which Sakura saw but didn't question.
"Yea you should trust Shikamaru-Kun y'know" Sakura said with a smile as she herself wasn't as bad as the other two but it still heavily put a weight on her.
"Hot Air Balloon Created!" Was shouted as they all turned to the now flying Shikamaru and Sasuke who was turned around fueling a furnace as two of Naruto's clones were stood behind them getting ready.
That was then when they heard a brief shout, a boom and a cry as the Hot Air Ballon as he dubbed flew away towards Shukaku.
"I-it's actually working" Pakkun said astoundingly as Naruto and Gamakichi stared back with amazement in there eyes.
"Yea it's just like you Shikamaru" Ino said under her breath.
Back on the Hot Air Balloon "Shikamaru" POV
"Oh my Kami!" We both shouted as the speed we traveled at was a bit much as the fire Sasuke started was keeping us in the air as I turn to Sasuke briefly and nodded towards him.
"I know you have better shuriken jutsu then me so when you have time help me throw them" I said as I picked up quite a few from the floor and threw them at Shukaku's back.
They impacted as I heard a cry from Shukaku.
"Ahh that hurt you Bastards!" Shukaku shouted angrily as he turned our way and jumped towards up trying to swipe us out of the air.
"NARUTO!" Me and Sasuke shouted as both Naruto used there Jutsu's "Wind Style Great Breakthrough/ Gale Palm" one said as one was at this point steering us with there Gale Palm while the other was on speed as we just escaped the hand swooping back into the ground making dirt and dust pick up where we last where as me and Sasuke continue to throw everything we as fast and precise as we can.
"We need to wake up Gaara or help the Naruto with waking him up so I guess we're the distraction so they can get up close" I say as I have one look to Sasuke who nods as he threw more shuriken onto Shukaku causing him to scream again at the pain of all the Explosions happening at once.
One explosion wasn't going to do much but a grand volley of them would do the work and thank god that these shuriken were completely laced in a couple explosive tags to help instead of one.
Sasuke using his now Fully Matured Sharingan to enhance his precision with the shuriken in his hands as he felt a great burst of Chakra in Shukaku's belly ready to explode.
"We need to move!" Sasuke said and I turned to him as he had his Sharingan on but before then I heard a call from a couple Jutsu.
"Wind Style Great Breakthrough/ Gale Palm/ Air Bullet!" With that the three attacks went from the users as we were barely hit as pressurized air came at us taking most of the Shuriken out of the boat completely.
"No!" I yelled as the shuriken flew in the air as all of me, Sasuke and the two Naruto's watched as our ammo was floating away.
'No nononononono this can't be happening! I…need to do some thing!' I shouted in my mind as I look around myself to see if I had anything to help.
J in take a silent look at my pouch and empty the campartment hastily as Sasuke stares wildly at me wondering what the hell I was doing.
Taking a count at all the Kunai I had I gulped wondering if this would be the end of me…but if I didn't do this I would still die and bring Sasuke with me…Fucking hell! This went to shit.
Throwing two Kunai at a time filled with lightning Chakra as the went to either side of the clump of Shuriken and when they passed they were linked with the lightning wire as more Kunai fly and connect towards the other Kunai as over the short time of me frantically throwing them they all connected together making an electric net around all them.
"Lightning Style: Electric Wall-Net!" I say as I had two last kunai in my hands as I felt the wind stop as the shuriken in the air just above us stop rising and start falling.
I activate my string in the two kunai in my hand and connect them all to the one kunai in my left hand as I pull hard on it and I felt Sasuke and the two Naruto Clones grabbing on my Hand or body as we hurl the entirety of the Shuriken's in the air towards Shukaku. From behind I saw Gamabunta going through some hand seals himself with Choji as we could here a mighty shout that took the attention away from us from all on the battlefield to Gamabunta.
"Fire Style: Great Fireball Justu!" A loud cry was heard as a gigantic ball of fire was sent.
"Sasuke!" I yell to him as he turns to me hugging and puffing using a ton of his strength to help me as the Naruto Clones with us as well.
"We need a pincer and activate the explosive notes" I say and he looked at Shukaku then nodded with the Naruto Clones knowing what to do.
Performing a couple hand seals right behind Sasuke copying what I saw until he finally stopped and cry'd out "Fire style: Great Fireball Jutsu!" And I followed him yelling my attack as well with the clones yelling there own attack.
"Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!/ Wind Style Great Breakthrough!" We all yelled as both the fireballs collided into each other as they kept together making a even bigger flame being even more powered with the Naruto's Great Breakthroughs that did rock the boat but we held on.
With the incoming attacks Shukaku couldn't react to being pincer attacked as he looked to both attacks and tried to make a shield on either side but failed failed to make one in time feeling one gigantic Fireball and another smaller fireball with explosives in them.
"AahaahahbaaahahhahahahH" Shukaku screamed in pain as a great smoke overcame the beast .
"Oh my god." I say speechless at the sight and I was seeing and Sasuke was no diffrerent looking at the spectacle of lights next to me.
"This…is insane…" was all that Sasuke let out as he was taken away that we didn't see a kunai rebound into the Hot Air Balloon until a Naruto Clone noticed we were going down.
"We got hit! " one cried as we looked and only heard the sound of a deflating Balloon.
"Oh Fuck yea we are Hit!" I yelled as I felt the wind coming from the balloon not being able to hold any with the hole as we started to fall faster and faster.
"Abandon Ship!" I yell as I look towards Sasuke as he looked a bit panicked as well.
We jump towards one of the higher trees as I saw Sasuke land on one but with that my attention was taken away as I missed the tree top and landed harshly on a branch almost knocking me unconscious.
"N-no" I say quietly whisper as I try to gain my bearings as I heard what was a bunch of sand falling.
"So that last attack got Gaara out ugh…ouch I'm so hurt…" I say as I get up shakily and jump towards another branch and another until I spot Gaara by himself as i shakily jump down to meet him.
"N-no back away….please!" He yelled an I looked alarmed he was begging so I spared him?
"Please…I don't want to die…I don't want to lose my sister or my brother…" he said depressingly feeling as though they were already dead.
"Calm down I won't kill you…just stopping you from destroying the people I care about and truthfully I would rather be friends than fight to the death like this." I say as I sigh along the way. I really seem to not like this world most times.
"W-why I nearly just destroyed your entire village how could you ever consider a friendship with…someone like me who's just a demon." Gaara said as he was almost all face down with only his own face keeping him up kinda like the original episode.
"I harbor no I'll will towards you…I just want to protect my friends and so we're you with your family." Was all I said as I went up to him and he flinched though I only picked him up and laid his back up against the bark of the tree as I sat next to him as all the power he had left was to move his head in my direction as I let out a gasp of pain as I sat down heavily taking down the pain of the fall and of the pain of this entire day.
"Hey…I don't know how to say it but…hopefully our villages can be Allies again as I don't want to fight you." I say as I look at him and he nods himself slowly.
"I still don't get it…why don't you kill me I still threatened all your loved ones why would you even let me live." Gaara said a bit warningly as he didn't know what could happen at all. I sigh as I look towards him and I look away about to answer but another voice cuts in.
"It's because people care for you Gaara and I don't or Shikamaru-Kun doesn't want to make them sad with your loss." A voice said as me and Gaara looked in the direction to see Sakura landing right in front of us.
"Sakura" I said while a smile propped on my face.
"Haruno Sakura…" Gaara said as he looked around her to see no one approaching.
"I told you before Gaara that people saved me from my own Loneliness so I decided." Sakura looked down with her hair covering her face as we looked onwards to her as she rises up showing a bright smile and raising her arms and extending her hand in a open gesture.
"I'll be the one to save you from your Loneliness so will you be my friend Gaara-Kun." Sakura said as the smile on her face radiated towards Gaara.
"W-what…I-I….Thank You…" was all he said as unknowing tears started to flow from his eyes as he tried to raise his hand up to wipe them away but didn't have the strength for it.
Sakura however just kept smiling as she walked up to Gaara and wiped the tears off for him. He felt himself feeling a bit more hot with her up close like this especially by his cheeks as he started to stare off into her noticing even the smallest thing as the movement of her hair or her eyes. He was enamored and he even felt his heart go faster, faster than he ever felt it go before.
"Alright let me fix you up Shikamaru-Kun then you Gaara-Kun." She said as she started to her Mystical Palm Jutsu now having a lot more practice under her belt since Wave.
"Heh Thanks Sakura y'know you kinda look like an angel from where I see it as." I smirked as I saw a blush color her face as she turned away to not show her reddened face though she continued to fix me up.
"Alright you're done…jerk…" she said and I gave her an exasperated smile as she went onto Gaara who looked relatively happy and calm seeing his new friend help him.
"Yo are you guys alright!" Naruto said as he, Pakkun, Gamakichi on Naruto's head, Choji, Ino and Sasuke jumped into view.
"Yea were fine." I say as I get up no longer feeling no where as near the amount of pain I once did. I patted my clothes that weren't ruined off the dirt that had been collected as I looked at Gaara who had picked himself off the ground as he stood next to Sakura.
"Gaara!" Another voice said as two more people jumped out of the trees to Gaara defensively looking at all of us.
I raise my hands as to not start another fight and Gaara who was behind her grabbed Temari's shoulder as both her and Kankuro looked at him.
"D-Don't…please…there my friends…" Gaara said shocking both Temari and Kankuro as they look back to us as we all see Sasuke, Ino and Choji a bit more shocked on how the guy that almost killed them are now magically friends with us and I couldn't really blame her.
"Cool my names Uzumaki Naruto! It's nice to meet you Gaara!" Naruto said good willingly as he stepped up and smiled sending his hand out to receive a handshake but was almost hit by Temari's fan as Gaara stopped her a bit before her fan hit his hand.
"It's nice to meet you Naruto." He said shaking the hand back as they both smiled.
"Well this is nice and all but you guys need to leave though…" I said as they both nodded though gave me a very threatening look as they where about to jump away until I remembered something.
"Wait…"I said as they were about to jump until they turned annoyed at me…mostly Kankuro with a little from Temari. " Your Dad, the Fourth Kazekage was killed by Orochimaru y'know the guy that was supposed to be your ally so take that as you will." I say as they looked astonished and more angered than before. They jumped away avoiding a possible confrontation with us all as I sigh thankfully.
"Well the attack should be about over as now when I was up high enough I saw some ninja retreating." It was what I said but I kinda wanted to look for the wreckage of the boat made Hot air Balloon but I just close my eyes there was no way it would survive a fall from that height especially with all the Explosive Shuriken that was there and they should all be destroyed.
With that there was giant explosion that destroyed all trees in its area as I'm the blast wasn't that far from here as the shook looks from most people except Sasuke who understood what happened.
"Ugh no the boat." I say as I didn't have as much energy to really care but I just wanted to lay down for a little while.
"Well we need to head back to Kakashi back at the stadium there might still be ninja here so be ready." Pakkun ordered as we all nod and follow the leading Pakkun with Gamakichi finally disappearing himself into smoke on Naruto's head."
It was quiet for most of the time getting there but I looked at Sasuke and remembered seeing a fully Matured Sharingan and I wanted to ask about that to him.
"Hey so I was impressed with what I saw during the fight with Gaara and though you guys couldn't fight in the Chunin Exams you guys still looked good." I say as we jumped to another branch.
"Yea…you got a lot faster than before and can use some degree of Fire Jutsu." Sasuke said offhandedly as he kept his gaze forward.
"Yea Shikamaru-Kun you got as fast as Lee in a month which is impressive and learned a new jutsu too that's is impressive." Sakura said as she looked to me and I gave her a close eyed smile for a second and returned back to watching as we jumped onto another tree branch.
"Meh I could beat you" Naruto said with a tone filled with overconfidence that radiated from him.
"Yea right" I say with a smug grin plastered on my face as he turns to me with extra vigor in his demeanor.
"Yea I am right!" Naruto shouted as he went back to look at his front as he was at the front of the pack until he hit a tree making him face plant and everyone move swiftly ahead of the downed blonde.
"Well you can't say he didn't deserve it." Choji said as he was just getting a bag of chips out of his pouch as everyone silently agreed with him with multiple sighs coming from some of us.
'Jesus this guys the protagonist of this story…we're doomed…especially when…Itachi arrives into Konoha…Can't we have a damn break!?'
