July 12, 2006
The feeling was soft and pleasant. The gym door opened. Teyla and Ronon came out, frowning at Michael and Kendra's strange spectacle. They exchanged a look, disturbed by the situation.
"This is a situation we didn't anticipate," Teyla whispers.
"You said it," adds Ronon.
They stood like statues. Kendra finally opened her eyes as she caught her breath. She lowered her head, confused by what she had just done. She got up as she left Michael. He touched his lips, enjoying the sensation.
Kendra panicked when she saw Ronon and Teyla. She ended up running, leaving the lieutenant all alone. He looks sad before turning around. He faced Ronon's scowl and Teyla's embarrassed smile. He left the hallway.
"You have to talk to the psychologist about it," says Ronon.
"I'm going to go there in the meantime, warn the colonel and Doctor Weir" orders the Athosian.
They quickly separated. Kendra headed to her room but Michael managed to get into the room before the door closed. Kendra steps back and looks at him.
"What are you doing here ? Go away!" Kendra screams.
"I can't because I just figured something out," he admits.
Kendra frowned at his words. His heart ached.
"I don't want to know anything," she said.
"Please don't push me away," Michael begs.
"Please get out of here," implores the young woman.
"So, if I understand correctly, this is all just a game to youb?" he asks.
"A game ? Are you kidding? How can you say such a thing !" Kendra screams.
"You are playing with me and my feelings. When I try to get closer to you. You are putting a wall between us," assures the lieutenant.
"These feelings you are experiencing are the result of our connection. This is all a big mistake! she declares.
"You are completely delusional. It's the first time since I've been here that I've felt comfortable with someone who understands me," says Michael.
"There is nothing to understand, Lieutenant Kenmore" adds Kendra.
"Don't push me away," he repeats.
A heavy silence settles between them. Michael interlaces his hands as he sighs, calming his anger. He could hear it beating rapidly. Kendra crosses her arms across her chest with a sad expression.
"The kiss we shared, you started it," Michael recalls.
"A mistake I made. I already told you that I didn't have time to feel these feelings. So, I beg you, leave" replies the young woman, distant.
"If you say it was a mistake, then why do I get the impression that you are lost in these emotions. You are afraid to feel them, why ? What is the dark secret that seems to haunt you ?" he asks.
"Go away," she repeats dryly.
She turns towards him, closing her eyes. Ronon's anger roared deep within his being.
"You are a coward, you only run away from people who want to help you. You are free to stay alone," he adds, turning his back on her.
Kendra opened her eyes and turned to him. He was about to open the door but she slammed it against the wall, making his eyes shine, revealing to him this secret that shared his life. Lyra revealed herself, she had a deep voice.
"Here's your answer, Lieutenant Kenmore," she said.
Michael felt a few seconds of fear before seeing the distress in the young woman's eyes. She placed her index finger on Michael's forehead. He winced in pain, he saw a series of images flash through his mind.
He saw Kendra during her childhood being tortured, he felt her fear, her sadness, her anger and her feeling of revenge. And the hatred. Hate and sadness mix in a hellish circle of suffering that the young woman experienced. Michael saw Major Lloyd's funeral, Kendra had dropped a rose on the grave.
Michael fell and slid down the wall. Kendra's eyes sparkled again. She knelt in front of him, revealing impassive eyes. A tear runs down her cheek as she looks into his eyes.
Kendra narrows her eyes, seeing the panic in his eyes. She didn't move when he came to his senses. He gasped when he saw her hearing her heart racing. He felt his suffering deep in his soul. He remembered dreams about the young child he had had in the past.
"Calm down, I won't hurt you anymore" declares the young woman calmly.
Troubled by her behavior, he noticed that the young woman was different. She didn't have the same way of speaking. His voice is devoid of feeling. Filled with a void that could not be filled.
"What are you ?" he questions.
"My real name is Kyara, I'm not from Earth. The young woman who attacked you is called Lyra, and I am her host" she replied.
"His host…" murmurs the lieutenant, disturbed.
"She's an ophidian, a sub-race of symbiote belonging to the Goa'uld" reveals Kendra.
"So, the young woman I've been talking to for days, was it Lyra ?" he asked.
"Yes," she admits.
"You are…" he trailed off in his sentence.
"A monster. You can say so" assures the assistant.
"Strange," he corrects.
"You're scared, I can understand that," she remarks.
"Then who are you ?" probe Michael.
"I am the real Kendra, the one who is broken from the inside. Lyra allows me to transmit emotions. Let us form only one life, together" admits the young woman.
"I felt your suffering," he declared.
"Lyra showed you our past" reveals Kendra.
"So the dreams we have had are pieces of our past," he concludes.
"In your case, it's different. I witnessed your torture by the wraith of which I saw everything" she lied.
She has blurred the lines about her true nature. Michael nodded. He sighed, pulling his legs up next to him.
"So this is what they did to me," he whispers.
Kendra didn't respond as he blinked several times. He finally took her hand. She raised her head.
"Thank you for telling me the truth," he says.
"Why are you thanking me ? I attacked you again" evokes the young woman.
"Thanks to you, I know what the wraiths did to me. Now, so don't reject me" Michael implores.
"You're strange," Kendra assures.
"I have the impression that my feelings for you are even stronger than before" confides the lieutenant.
Kendra's eyes sparkled again. She smiled, taking his hand.
"If I invite you to dinner, will you forgive me ?" she suggests.
"You can't wait," said Michael.
She giggled at his words.
"I'm very happy that you revealed yourself to me, even if I would have preferred not to have a headache" he comments.
"I let my emotions overflow. You pushed me to the limit but that in no way excuses the violence I showed towards you" assures Kendra.
"In this case, try talking to me about how you feel first, instead of pushing me away," he advises.
"I promise," says the assistant.
She got up helping him afterwards. She pulled away but he took her hand again. She placed her hand on her forehead, closing her eyes. The pain vanished to his greatest surprise.
"You are impressive," he says.
"Can I count on you not to reveal my secret ?" Kendra asked.
"Of course," he says.
"Perfect" she adds.
Michael was slammed against the wall again. Kendra pressed her lips to his. He didn't struggle. He cupped her cheeks in his hands, deepening their kiss. He opened the zipper of the young woman's jacket and slid it over her shoulders.
They looked at each other for a few seconds before kissing again. The jacket fell to the ground. Kendra gripped her hips around Michael's waist. He stepped back, causing her to fall onto her bed. He took off his t-shirt and she repeated his movement.
He placed a series of kisses on her neck while she bit her lower lip. A gentle warmth settled between Kendra's thighs. She muffled a moan as she clutched the sheets. Their pleasure took control of their bodies. Michael groaned lightly as he rested his head on Kendra's shoulder. She scratched his back as he kissed her again.
They remained immersed in this sweet and passionate embrace throughout the night.
