The city psychologist remained silent. While Doctor Weir intertwined his hands. They look at each other because of the information they received about Kendra and Michael. Rodney Mckay looked up from his tablet, feeling the heavy atmosphere in the conference room.
"If I understand what you are saying, you accept that your assistant has a relationship with Michael despite everything we know about her," Weir said.
"Indeed. They can develop mutual trust and Kendra will serve as an intermittent to support Michael's social and relational aspect towards Atlantis" assures the psychologist.
"As you know, the members of the Tok'ra will arrive this afternoon. We cannot afford to waste any more time with your assistant. Especially since this relationship was not initially planned" asserts Elizabeth.
"That's your opinion, Dr. Weir," Kate comments.
"I remind you that we are talking about two human-looking aliens. One of them has a parasite planted in the back of his neck while the other fed on a human being in his previous life" remembers John .
"Especially since our plans to monitor her didn't work." She didn't wear a collar," Rodney said.
"In that case, we're back to square one. We're killing him," Ronon added.
"This situation is completely beyond our control," Teyla comments with concern.
"In this case, we can say that this experiment is a failure. Your assistant was not up to the task," assures Doctor Weir.
The psychologist let out a sigh as she closed her computer. She left the conference room. Mckay followed his movement as did the other members of his team.
Michael finally stood up with a frown. He was completely naked, with only a sheet covering his lower body. He noticed two trays sitting on Kendra's desk. He stood up, picking up his clothes.
He got dressed when he heard the door open. Kendra smiled big when she saw him. She wore a light blue blouse, beige capri pants and flip flops. She had let down her hair. She seemed different. She approached Michael, crossing her arms over her chest.
"You slept well ?" she asks.
"You could say that," he replied shyly.
"You don't need to feel bad because it happened last night," Kendra assures.
"I'm not familiar with the subject," admits the lieutenant.
"Don't worry, we'll have time to get to know each other better. In the meantime, do you want to have lunch ?" questions the young woman.
"You have no idea," he adds.
They ate together, chatting for a full hour. They ended up walking around the city, continuing their discussion. When they arrived in front of Kate's office. They entered together. Kendra quickly lost her smile.
She saw three military soldiers, Ronon and Teyla with John. Kate exchanged a look with her. She saw fear adorning the psychologist's pupils. The soldiers and Ronon aimed their weapons at Kendra and Michael.
"Can we find out what's going on ?" Michael asked.
"I think you've had too much freedom lately, it's time for you to return to your quarters" Sheppard says.
Michael sighed, rolling his eyes. He was taken away by the soldiers. Ronon approached Kendra threatening her.
"Ronon" Teyla called.
Kendra smiled as she saw him relax.
"I see that you obey like a good trained dog" comments the young woman.
The Satedian clenches his fist, wanting to hit her. Kendra held his gaze.
"Ronon !" shouts the colonel.
The warrior stopped all movement. Kendra narrowed her eyes as she saw him step back.
"Looks like we haven't learned our lesson, should I start again so you stop threatening people ?" Kendra asked.
Ronon just growled. John turned to the young woman, grimacing.
"May I know the reason for this arrest ?" the assistant asked.
"We know what you are, so don't try to lie to us," John replied.
"Oh really ? And what do you think I am ?" probes the young woman.
"A goa'uld," Teyla says dryly.
Kendra frowned. Her eyes flashed, Lyra demonstrated a deep voice.
"Don't insult me with that crude name, I'm an ophidian, a sub-race of its parasites" she admits.
"We already knew that," assures the colonel.
"How did you know ?" Kendra asked.
"The x-rays during your visit to the infirmary, you weren't very careful on that one" admits Sheppard, smiling.
Ronon had a satisfied expression when he saw her remain silent. Kendra sighed as Kate stood up to approach her.
"Why did you manipulate us ?" asks Kate.
"I didn't manipulate you, I already knew that I would be rejected by all of you if I had revealed my secret to you" asserts the young woman.
"We will free you from this demon" she promised.
Kendra's eyes light up again.
"Don't think about it, I'll die if you do that," Kendra said.
"We can't do anything other than the Tok'ra..." Sheppard admits.
Kendra clenched her jaw as the door opened again. Two Tok'ra members are seen wearing their uniforms.
"Please don't do this," Kendra begs.
Kate saw the distress in her assistant's eyes. She was taken to an interrogation room, waiting for the extractor to be put in place.
Doctor Weir visited him. Kendra frowned and crossed her legs. She remained calm while Doctor Weir took his seat.
"So tell me, how did you get into the Atlantis base ?" she questions.
"I arrived through the stargate at the same time as Doctor Heightmeyer," declares the young woman.
"Interesting, it says in your file that you are from Earth, is that true ?" Elizabeth asks.
"Instead of answering your question, I could show you everything you want" assures Kendra.
The assistant held out her hand and Weir looked at her in confusion.
"Very good," Weir agrees.
Kendra placed her index finger on her forehead and showed Dr. Weir all the horrors she suffered as a child. Elizabeth stood back as Ronon entered the room threatening the young woman.
"Lower your weapon," Weir orders.
John appeared at his side.
"Are you doing well ?" he asked.
"Yes, she showed me her past," Elizabeth reveals.
"What ? How did she do that ?" John questions.
"She suffered atrocities as a child. She is able to project images into our minds and see dreams," says Weir.
"You got it right," Kendra says.
"There's something else, isn't there ?" Weir asked.
Kendra let out a sigh. She stood up as Ronon lowered his gun. She approached John placing a hand on his chest.
"What are you doing ?" he asked worriedly.
"Relax," Kendra advises.
The assistant sucked the fear out of the colonel. His expression changed, he felt relaxed. He looked at Doctor Weir and Ronon. The Satedian frowned.
"How do you feel ?" Elizabeth asked.
"Lighter, I feel like I no longer have weight in my body," he admits.
"You sucked the emotion out of him," Elizabeth understood.
"Indeed, but the problem is that I feel your fear more intensely. It's the backlash for this kind of thing," she says.
"That's why you were in the infirmary," John concluded.
Kendra nodded, leaning on the table. She swayed, breathing heavily. John reached out a hand towards her but she pulled away abruptly.
"She wasn't lying," notes the colonel.
"Please don't take Lyra from me, I will die if she leaves my body" implores the young woman.
Elizabeth crossed her arms in thought. Kendra backed up to the wall, curling into herself. She let a tear escape.
"Very good," Weir agrees.
John and Ronon exchanged a look. Elizabeth knelt down towards Kendra.
"How do you help get through this state ?" she asked.
"It will happen on its own," Kendra replied.
Kendra was suddenly shaking. She ended up passing out. Ronon and John ran towards Elizabeth. She placed a hand on Kendra's forehead and confirmed that she was feverish. She pressed her radio.
"It's Weir, I'm urgently calling a medical team to the interrogation room," she ordered.
Kendra was picked up as they exited the interrogation room. The two members of the Tok'ra were sent back to their planet. Michael spent the rest of the day locked in his room not knowing what had happened.
