It is time for the biggest event of the year. One that has overtaken any sporting event, even the Olympics. Following a deadly war where the elite who ran the world were nearly completely eaten by the rest of society, the Hunger Games was established. As Italy is now the host, it's time for twenty-four tributes of vastly different origins to be welcomed into the arena.

After the death of their mother, 14-year-old Katniss and her 10-year-old sister Prim move in with their widowed maternal grandmother. The Rebellion has been crushed and the Dark Days are over. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, the Capitol has taken control once more. To make sure that the districts never forget their defeat, the Capitol institutes the Hunger Games: a battle to the death using the districts' children. Whether these children will become phoenixes or stay ashes- that's up to them.
