Tara wraps her arms around his neck as she continues to kiss him more passionately and deeply, gently tugging on his bottom lip as she presses herself further into him. Slowly breaking away, she slowly catches her breath.
" What the hell?! "
Tara quickly stepped out of Jax's arms as she turned around and noticed Opie standing behind them. "Opie, what are you doing here?" Tara asked as she was suddenly getting nervous already. Mainly because she didn't expect to see Opie standing there with so much anger in his eyes. Opie looked like he wanted to kill Jax for messing around with his little sister, and Tara desperately wished the floor would open up and swallow her up to save her from this embarrassment.
What the hell is going on here? Opie repeated the question, ignoring Tara's question and continued to give Jax the death stare. Opie knew Jax had been seeing someone else since leaving Wendy and for months Opie had been trying to get Jax to reveal who the woman was. Now he knew why Jax never did.
"Bro, it's not what it looks like," Jax answered as he tried to deny what was going on between him and Tara, but of course he failed miserably.
Well, looks like you and my sister are making out in the kitchen. I mean, that's what it looks like to me. But I'm more curious to know, how long has this been going on? Opie asked as he looked at Tara and Jax, who were supposed to be his brother and best friend.
Tara sighed deeply as she answered his question. "Since I came back home after my summer vacation."
"Are you fucking serious? Are you telling me, that since you came back home, you've been messing around with Jax?" Opie asked as he shook his head in disbelief at what he was hearing. He had heard rumors that Jax might have a new old lady, but the last thing he ever expected to hear was that it was his own sister.
"I'm not messing around with him. I love him, Ope." Tara said honestly as she stood by Jax and reached for his hand, looking at Opie. "I know we've lied to you and everyone else for months, and I'm sorry for that. You're my big brother, and I have a lot of respect and love for you. But if I had told you about Jax and me from the beginning, you would've had the same reaction you're giving us now."
Opie sighs heavily as he shakes his head." There's no in way in hell, I'm going to let this happen. I am not about to let my little sister be an old lady or be with someone who's part of this club."
" You won't let me?" Tara asked as she scoffed." You're not dad, so which means that I don't have to listen to you and I make my own decisions, I've decided that if I wanna be Jax's old lady. Well then so be it. It's my choice to make and there's absolutely nothing you could do about it."
Opie nods his head for a moment and without warning he punched Jax right across the jaw which cause Jax's head to snap to the side and Tara gasps as couldn't believe what had just happened, but of course it really shouldn't be surprised either.
"Jesus Christ, Opie!" Tara exclaimed as she watched Opie walk out of the kitchen without saying another word. Tara sighed deeply and turned to look at Jax. "Well, that went smoothly. Are you okay?"
Jax nods his head as he gently felt the blood on his bottom lip with the tip of his tongue. " I am good babe. It isn't the first time your brother punch me like that." Jax answered with a chuckle.
"You think this is funny?" Tara asked, unable to believe that Jax could be laughing about this. "We just got caught, which I told you would happen. Damn it, Jax, I knew we should have just told them." She said, crossing her arms over her chest and shaking her head.
So, what do you think we should do? Should we just go out there and tell everyone?" Jax asked as he leaned back against the kitchen counter. "I mean, we might as well, right?"
Tara shrugs her shoulders as she shook her head." I don't know. I just need to get out of here and clear my head." Tara answered as she turned around and walked out of the kitchen without saying another word to Jax. Tara feels little guilty for walking away from Jax but she needs to think and she can't do that around Jax right now.
Walking out of the clubhouse Tara noticed Opie's Dyna wasn't in the lot. Hopefully he went to Donna's instead of home because right now she really can't deal with him and most importantly she doesn't even want to talk to him either. Tara knew Opie was going to find out about her and Jax sooner or later. She just didn't expect him to find out this way.
" Hey, do you know what's going on with Opie?" Gemma asked as she walked up to Tara.
Tara shook her head. " Not really, why? Did he say something?"
" Well, no but he did leave here in kind of a hurry though and he did seem kinda pissed off about something." Gemma answered as she looks at Tara for a moment." Did something happened between you two?"
Once again, Tara shook her head. "Um, no. Opie and I are good. It might be Donna, I heard they've been having some problems lately." Tara answered, lying through her teeth, hoping Gemma wouldn't notice.
Gemma asked again, "Is everything okay with them?"
Tara shrugged her shoulders."I am not sure," Tara said. "Listen Gemma, I am gonna head home, I have like a huge test coming up and I really need to get home and study for it."Which was partly the truth; she did have a huge test coming up, but it wasn't for a couple of weeks. She just wanted to leave as quickly as she could, at least before Jax walked out of the clubhouse.
Gemma nodded her head. "Of course." She said as she allowed Tara to leave.
" Thanks."Tara said as she turned around and walked straight to her car. Once Tara was behind the wheel and once she got the engine started and was buckled in, she drove out of the lot heading back home.
As Gemma watched Tara drive away, she couldn't help but wonder if Tara knew more than she was letting on. Gemma knew Tara knew something had happened, but she wasn't saying anything. Sighing deeply, Gemma walked toward the clubhouse to talk to Jax.
As soon as she closed the door behind her, Tara walked into the house and started to look for Opie. "Opie," she called out, checking the kitchen first before walking down the hall. As she approached his room, Tara took a deep breath and knocked on his door before opening it.
Ope, are you in here?" Tara asked as she slowly opened his door and snuck her head in. When she didn't see him, Tara sighed in relief. Just like Tara predicted, Opie probably went to Donna's, so Tara was free...well, for now. Walking away from his door, Tara walked into her room and shut her bedroom door behind her.
Sitting in the middle of her bed, Tara reached for her book bag and pulled it closer to her as she opened it and pulled out her biology book. She needed a distraction and hoped that focusing on her studies would help.
Tara knew that sooner or later someone was going to catch her and Jax together. She just didn't expect it to be this soon, and she definitely didn't expect it to be Opie, of course; it could have been anyone else who had caught them together, which Tara had no problem with because at least she would be able to handle them. But with Opie catching them together, she wasn't sure how to handle this situation.
Tara's head suddenly turned towards her window as soon as she heard a familiar Dyna pulling into her driveway. Getting out of bed Tara walked towards her window to see who had pulled up. When she saw it was only Jax, Tara sighs in relief again as she turned around and walked out of her room after she opened her door.
Walking out of her house as she closed the front door behind her, Tara slowly made her way down the driveway. " Hey." She said as she stood a few feet away from Jax as she wasn't sure what to say and she suddenly felt nervous around him.
"Hey," Jax said back as he also wasn't sure what to say either; of course, he thought about reaching out to her and pulling her closer to him. But he decided against it and placed both hands into his pockets as he leaned back against his Dyna. "You doing okay?"
Tara shook her head." Not really," she said. "Not only has Opie just found out about us, but it's only going to be a matter of time before everyone else finds out about us." She answered as she sighed deeply and looked the other way.
Jax shrugged his shoulders."Well, you always said that everyone should know about us. At least now once Opie tells them about us, we don't have to hide anymore." He said with a chuckle, attempting to lighten the mood.
Tara rolled her eyes as she sighs exasperatedly as she shook her head." We were supposed to tell them together, which we should have done in the first place. But now everything is so screwed up." She said shaking her head.
" Come on babe, it can't be all that bad."
Tara said softly, "I think we shouldn't see each other at least for a while."
" What are you saying? Tara?" Jax asked as he wasn't liking where this was head or why Tara was acting like she doesn't want him around anymore." Babe, you're just upset. I'm sure everything is going to blow over and..."
Tara walked up to Jax and grabbed his hands, shaking her head. "I just... I need some time and space to think about things." Tara hated hurting Jax like this because of how much she loved him. But now everything was so screwed up because their secret had blown up in their faces.
" I don't want to lose you babe."
Tara lifted her hands up as she pressed her lips against his knuckles. As she sighed deeply and shook her head again. "You will never lose me, but I think with us spending time apart it would be good for us." She stepped closer to him as she pressed her lips against his. She kissed him passionately and deeply one final time before she slowly broke their kiss. "Goodbye, Jax." She whispered softly as she quickly turned around and walked back into her house, closing the door behind her.
Leaning back against the door, Tara closed her eyes as she heard Jax leave her driveway. Although it was painful to let him go, Tara knew that this was the best thing for both of them. She also felt that by not spending so much time together, perhaps everyone at the clubhouse or around town wouldn't talk about them anymore, and Opie might stop hating her, and Gemma wouldn't feel the need to kill her.
