Trouble at Birabuto Fair
Location: Chai Mountains, en route to Birabuto
The doogan pilot zips through the mountains of Chai expertly, and soon after dashes across the vast sea of the country of Muda. Finally, they reach the eastern outskits the country of Birabuto. During the 30 minute flight, Yoshi nervously taps his fingers on Stuffwell 2.0, as he couldn't shake off the thought of Daisy being in eminent danger. The pilot points at an ancient bazaar-like fair in the western side of Birabuto, and flies there as fast as the helicopter can take them.
The pilot almost crash lands the helicopter on an open area in the southeastern corner of Birabuto Fair, the newest attraction built around an oasis in Birabuto. He parks it next to Daisy's personal 'copter, an orange vessel with two white flowers on the side doors.
Yoshi hears an outburst of astonished gasps and shrieks, and dashes in direction of the commotion. He runs past the outdoor stores of dried Shrooms and pasta, and jumps over pots and barrels of unknown content, and reaches the central plaza, which is devoid of life. A midday gust blows a single tumbleweed across the open area. Yoshi looks around with caution, and furrows his brows as he sees a burly shadow stand in the distance.
Amidst the sandy wind, Morton Koopa Jr. stood triumphantly in the middle of the plaza, both of his dark skinned arms raised and his spiked wristbands glistening in the sun. Many tent stores surround the Koopaling and Daisy, a brick two story building, uncommon for the desert nation, stands southwest of the plaza, and a wooden pole destined for an even bigger tent is erected of to the side of said building. Many barrels and wooden boxes litter the place. A Sarasaland Toad rests in front of the brick building, seemingly unconscious, while Daisy stands nearby, looking a bit anxious. Morton roars and bangs on the only two palms trees at his vicinity, a coconut falling on his head.
"I see you're as clumsy as ever!" exclaims Yoshi as he runs toward the dark skinned Koopaling
"What chump said that?" he hollers, as he rubs his head and looks for the voice that mocked him.
Without warning, Yoshi jumps over Morton's head and does a Ground Pound; he lands next to Daisy. He hands Stuffwell 2.0 to a flustered Daisy, and motions her inside the brick building. The princess looks to the sides bewildered, and later shrugs, silently going inside.
The green dinosaur cracks his neck as he jumps again to stomp on Morton's three-haired head again. Yoshi chuckles as he yells, "That would be me!"
To Yoshi's surprise, Morton Jr. pops his head out of his shell quickly, and just as quickly swipes his brutish left arm and smacks the dinosaur into one of the palms. The palm doesn't bend much, but drops another coconut, this time on Yoshi's head.
"Not laughing now, eh, chump?" taunts Morton Jr., who laughs and wags his claw. "That ain't working no more!"
Morton runs up the brick wall, defying gravity as he once did during his assault in Dinosaur Land, and once at the edge, he jumps off and tries to crush the green dinosaur under his bulky body. Yoshi shakes his head slowly as he rubs his head. Yoshi squints, trying to spot the falling Koopaling, but the desert sun is too bright. As the shadow approaches, Yoshi narrowly jumps out of the way, and is blown further by the shockwave caused by the dark skinned Koopaling, which in turn, also uproots both palms. The Koopaling slowly stands up as he recovers from his previous attack.
Yoshi also stands slowly, having felt the shockwave in his body, though not overly so. He wipes off the sand and spots the tall wooden pole near the brick building. Another incoming shadow sped at Yoshi, who barely sees it out of the corner of his eye. He evades quickly almost in matrix style, narrowly dodging a palm tree trunk chucked at him, which crashes into some nearby crates. The green dinosaur makes a run for it, dodging all of the junk Morton Jr. threw at him and hides behind the pole juts as a large wooden box filled with desert limes crashes on the pole.
Yoshi looks around as he catches his breath, and spots a barrel near the pole. He looks back and spots Daisy coming out of the building onto the second story patio with Stuffwell 2.0 in hand. On the spur of the moment, he stretches his tongue at it and flings the barrel, which accidentally smacks Morton in the face, who has just arrived next to Yoshi, and the busted seems and splinters fly at random directions.
Yoshi dashes again, this time toward the brick building, but then he sees a spiky club tossed at Morton from the second story patio. Yoshi looks up and face faults when he sees Daisy waving back, smiling from ear to ear. He furiously stomps his right leg and angrily waves his arms in the air.
"Seriously! What the heck! Whose side are you on?"
Daisy giggles, making Yoshi fume even more. "Gotta make it more interesting, no?"
As Yoshi angrily ponders if Daisy is really stupid or just delirious, Morton has already picked up the weapon and charged at Yoshi like a bull during a stampede. When Yoshi turns and finally notices, Morton within reach; Yoshi becomes temporarily paralyzed.
The clumsy Koopaling trips right before he reaches Yoshi, and nearly falls on some box debris, making the green dinosaur snaps out of the trance. The green dinosaur runs back to the pole as Morton regains his footing and begins his pursuit, and swings at the pole as Yoshi is frantically climbing to safety. The pole snaps like a twig and inevitably falls.
Yoshi frantically yells at Daisy as the pole falls, "Grab the jar and throw a vitamin now!"
Daisy whistles as she leisurely opens up Stuffwell, and grabs the plastic container. After opening, she casually says, "Here's a yellow one 'cause I like yellow."
She tosses a yellow vitamin at her falling green friend, who quickly stretches his tongue at it before falling and disappearing into a dust cloud, (though, for the little sand that was in the clean plaza, the dust cloud was exaggeratedly big). Morton walks over to the lingering dustiness, until Yoshi's shadow becomes visible. Morton smirks and forcefully flings the club at Yoshi's shadow. What happened next surprises everyone.
An untimely wind blows across, revealing that Yoshi had transformed into a burly, yellow Yoshi, and is holding firmly onto the club with his right hand. He simply lands a left hook and smashes the club. A growl comes from his stomach, making him grab and look down at it.
He thinks, 'The strength of a Yellow Yoshi plus the stomach to match.' He determinedly looks at the dark skinned Koopaling. 'Let's see if I can do another dust cloud…'
Yoshi stomps on the sandy ground, and the well placed sandy shockwave stuns Morton, who could not dodge it on time, and pushes the heavyweight Koopaling back, making Yoshi celebrate.
'I hit him, but it seems I am just as slow as Tubbs here. I'll get him while he's down.'
Yoshi charges at Morton around the same speed as his enemy. Morton shakes his head, and quickly recovers. The cantankerous Koopaling sees Yoshi, and scowls, retaliating by charging back. Both collide and look into each others hands. The force of their collision blows away the sand and rubbish in their immediate vicinity. They struggle to bring to other down as they wrestle, but Morton slowly gets the upper hand, managing to slowly but surely push Yoshi back.
Yoshi thinks as he sweats and attempts to resist, 'He's still to strong. Better finish this quick.'
Yoshi's face suddenly beams in enlightenment, and takes advantage of the simple and irate Koopaling. Yoshi loosens his grip and seemingly gives in, causing Morton to fall forward, his face smashing into the ground. Yoshi flips the dizzy Koopaling belly up and then jumps up, ground pounding on Morton's softer belly, causing the Koopaling to fling his arms up from a shoulder jerk reaction. Morton wheezes as he passes bad gas, and drops his hands to the sides, knocked out. Yoshi kneels on his right knee, exhausted from the fight and desert sun.
At this moment, Daisy is heading outside toward the plaza, just as her pianta chancellor also arrives on his helicopter. Seeing Morton defeated, and Daisy and Yoshi standing by, the pianta smacks his lips and shakes his head.
"Milady, milady… This cannot be. As a guest of Sarasaland, you should really start treating Morton as one!"
