Attempting to stand up again, Travis repeated himself when he heard his son's cries, "That bitch has my boy!"

Gritting his teeth, Jax lashed out at the man, backhanding him, "Watch you fucking mouth!"

"Jax!" Tara called out. "I need water!" she reminded him.

"Right here, babe," Jax turned his attention back to Tara. He ran to the bottle he tossed to the ground and got it to Tara. "He gonna be alright?" he asked, opening the bottle.

Tara held the crying baby. She had gotten his shirt off and was standing in the shaded area, "Yeah, his heart rate is normal. He's just very hot. Can you put some of that water in one of the baby bottles?"

"Yeah, yeah," Jax set to work doing as Tara asked.

Travis watched for a few moments, wondering how stupid he could be, leaving his boy out in this hot California climate. Another large wail came from his son, and that got him moving towards them again.

When he got within a few feet, Tara growled at him, using her body to shield the boy, "Stay back!"

"But….."

Jax came back over with the bottle of water handed down to Tara and stepped to the man again, "Come near my wife again, and you're gonna feel what it's like to be locked in a mobile oven without being able to free yourself," he promised.

"But my boy….." he said again.

"Is being treated by the best pediatric doctor in the area," Jax filled in for him. "Now plant your ass," he hissed out and pushed the man by his shoulder down to sit by them on the ground.

"Baby," Tara called out to Jax again, "Please go calm Sammie down." Poor Sammie was crying through all the commotion too.

Jax turned his attention to his daughter. Walking over to the woman who held her, "Hey princess," he cooed.

Sammie's tear filled eyes turned to her daddy, "Da da," she cried, her legs kicking and arms stretching towards him.

Lydia, who had furiously tried to calm the crying baby down, watched curiously and cautiously as this man, this deceptively gorgeous man, whom she had never seen or met before came closer to her. The baby and Tara obviously knew him, but the image of him tackling and hitting the other man was still in her mind. He was seemingly protecting Tara, but his actions still seemed so violent to her.

Jax got close enough that put his hands under Sammies arms, picking her up then bringing her close to his chest, "Shhhh it's alright, baby girl. Daddy's here," he soothed her. After feeling her little hand grab onto his beard, he looked up at the stranger. "Thanks for helping my wife. We haven't met yet. I'm Jax," he smiled at the woman.

"Lydia. A cousin of Tara," Lydia explained.

"Teller!" Sherriff Roosevelt called out to him as he walked up to scene. Someone had called 911 and reported the incident. "What's going on?"

Lifting his head up in greeting, Jax turned his attention to Roosevelt, "Tara found a kid locked in a car, he seems to be responsive, but she'll have to fill you in more on that. And the dad attempted to get rough with her, so I got rough back."

"I've got no doubt about that, Teller. And I'm sure that's the least of our worries. Medic should be here any minute. Let me go talk to the doc and see what she thinks should happen," Roosevelt said. He patted Sammie's back, "It's a good thing you got your momma's looks kid."

"Haha," Jax joked, "I'm gonna send Happy home with the kids and stick around."

"Just as long as you behave Teller."

"I make no promises if the dad gets out of hand again," Jax promised.
