About 1,000 years ago

"Kol come on!" I scream at my brother.

"Hold on! You're running too fast!" Kol screams at me. He is miles behind trying to catch up, and I can see him running out of breath.

"Hurry up or we'll have to go!" I continue running up the hill, reaching the top.

Once I reach the top of the hill, The only thing I see are flowers. A field of beautiful flowers. The sun is shining bright in my face, and I can feel the warmth taking over my body. I see in the distance, a few deer running across the field. They seem so peaceful. So alive. So free. To be able to do whatever you want and go wherever you please without any consequences seems like an unimaginable dream. But I have always liked challenges. Until that dream comes true, I just want to enjoy the field of flowers.

"Finally, you made it." I turned around to face my brother. "What took you so long?"

"Maybe I don't have the energy like you, sister." Kol states, and I start laughing. "We should hurry before mother catches us."

"Right! Let's try the spell." I ran a little further away from Kol to see how far I could go.

"Ready?", Kol asked me.

"Um, before we do this, are we sure it's safe?" I ask, unsure.

"No, but we'll be fine." Kol isn't cautious about anything. To be fair, neither am I.

"Okay, I'm ready." I say excitedly.

"Okay, on the count of three!" Kol yells, and I nod my head.

"One!" I get into a position so I'm steady and don't tumble down the hill.

"Two!" I keep my eyes on my target, not straying. Can't be caught off guard.

"Three!" And I attack.

"MOTUS!" Kol and I both screamed. That's the last thing I heard before I blacked out.

Oh, it was a dream.

Actually, more like a memory. I forgot about that day. It felt so surreal that I thought it was a very vivid dream. One day, I feel that I will forget about all those good memories I once had. Being over 1000 years old means it's very possible to happen. I snapped out of my daze when I realized why I was dreaming when I was just awake a moment ago.

Wait, where am I? Why am I in a dark room? I try to get up, but realize I'm chained to the wall. What the heck? And why do I feel so weak? Like my power is being drained...

Bloody hell!

I remember now. Once I left Katerina, I was injected with something. This isn't just something though. This dose is extremely strong. I would be able to fight it, if my body were at 100% but after being stabbed, my body still needs a few days. It's only been about two since I woke up. Luckily, my powers should be up and running in a few hours, unlike other witches who would need at least 48 hours for their powers to be fully restored.

I hear footsteps coming my way and I wonder who has captured me. But it doesn't take much intelligence to figure it out. Only a handful of people know that I'm a witch, and I only followed one person to Katerina's location.

"Stefan, it's so nice to see you again. Even though I can't technically see you." I state in my thickest accent. I hear people love someone with a cute accent, and I already have the cute part down.

Stefan opens the door and walks into the room, but he's not the only one. With him is the doppelgänger. Walking behind them is Damon and a girl I've never seen before.

She is short, dark-skinned, with curly brown hair. She seems petite and a little frightened, but not too scared. I can easily tell she is a witch, and I'm going to assume she is the reason I can't use my magic.

Stefan and Elena stared at me suspiciously. The little girl looked up at me, trying to figure out my deal, and Damon just stared amusedly.

"Told you I'd see you again." Damon says, with a smirk, and Elena looks at him annoyed.

"Can someone please tell me why I am chained up?" I tug at my chains. "I mean it's been a while since I've been invited to hang out, but I don't think this is how you welcome someone into your house." I state innocently.

"Sure. As soon as you tell us why you were talking to Katherine." Stefan crossed his arms and stated, "".

"Hmm...I'm good." I state, shrugging my shoulders.

"Look Kalle. I will easily take those chains off your hands." Damon states while walking up to me. "If you just do us the favor of telling us what you have to do with Katherine"

I roll my eyes at him and look at the small girl. "Do you have nothing to say to me?" The girl looks at me confused, "I mean, aren't you the witch who made my powers weak?"

"Maybe I am. And I can do a lot worse if you don't tell me why you were talking to Katherine." The girl states confidently.

"Why is everyone is so mean. I mean no harm. But I'm starting to understand why Katherine hates you all so much.." I trail off, pretending I didn't mean to say that.

"So you did talk to her" Elena states. No shit Sherlock. "What did you talk to her about. Did she tell you anything more about Klaus?" I look at her confused.

Klaus? Do they already know about him? Well, at least now that they know about him, they'll know the danger they're in if they go against him.

"Elena. Katherine could have just been telling you lies, but that's what she does." Stefan states. Never mind what I just said. He is clueless. "And I doubt she would even know Klaus. Besides, she is a bigger problem." I highly doubt that.

"Your boyfriend is right. I have no idea what you're talking about or who Klaus is." I say, keeping a steady heart. I know they will be listening. "But yes, I did talk to Katherine. Last time I checked, talking to a person wasn't a crime."

"Look, Kitty K isn't a person; she's the devil herself." Damon points at me.

"She obviously isn't going to talk. We need to do something else." Stefan states, looking at Elena. Elena looks like she's trying to figure something out but turns to the short girl for help.

"Bonnie, can't you do a spell or something that will make her talk?" Elena asks. Wait, Bonnie? As in the Bennet witch? Oh, I should have figured this out sooner. She has the same amount of sass as Ayana. They look alike too. I guess the height threw me off.

"I don't think so. Weakening her powers was the best I could do for now. I don't know what else to do." Bonnie states a little worried.

They started talking about ways to make me talk, but I was tuning them out. I'm surprised that she is a descendant of Ayana. Ayana was like an aunt to my siblings and me. She was our personal doctor because our mother knew magic and how to heal, but not in the way Ayana did. She would always try to make us laugh whenever my mother would ridicule me and Kol for using magic recklessly. She would make my sister feel better after getting sick and our parents were too busy to take care of her. How she would playfully fight with Elijah and even Finn at times. Make Niklaus feel special whenever our father would hit him. She was basically family to us.

Which is why it was hard when she left us, after finding my siblings had turned into vampires. But I'm glad she got to have a child. I hope she got the life she wanted. But I can't harm her descendant. It would be a disgrace to her name. I don't know why, but I feel that I have to protect her. And for that, I have to get into the friend group. It's also about time that I make good on my promise to Elijah.

"Okay. I'll tell you. I'll tell you why I was talking to Katherine." And they all turn around to look at me.

"You're not joking right?" Elena questions.

"No more jokes," I stated with a straight face. "I'll tell you everything."

"Why the sudden change of heart," Stefan asked still question about my motives.

"You can thank her." I pointed to Bonnie, and they all looked.

"Me? Why?" She asks confused.

"My great-great-grandmother knew your ancestor and they were close. She used to write about your ancestor and how she basically saved her life." I lied while keeping a steady heart. "My grandmother told me this before she died and used to tell me that if I ever meet a Bennet, to treat them with absolute respect, which I will."

They all looked at each other, wondering whether or not I was telling the truth, until Bonnie said something. "I believe her. She has no reason to lie about this, especially since she was being so difficult earlier."

They finally agree, and Damon says, "Okay. What were you talking about, Katherine?"

"Not really talking. More confronting." I say in a serious tone. "The reason I came to this town wasn't about a limp, but I was looking for a certain someone who had done me and my family wrong." That's not entirely false.

Katherine has wronged everyone in this room, what's your deal?" Damon asks, and everyone listens, intrigued.

I take a deep breath. "Okay. About four years ago, me and my twin brother were planning a trip to move to New York. Our parents died in a fire when we were very young. Our grandmother raised us until she died when we were 15. After that, we had no more family to teach us magic. But our grandmother left us a note before she died, saying where to go to continue learning magic. That place was New York. We would save up enough money to buy a plane ticket and a year later, we would go. This would be a start of a new life, a new adventure. But that adventure got cut short.

We only had a month left before we raised enough money to go. It was spring and we were getting ready to go when my brother met a girl.

He thought this girl was his soulmate, and I didn't want to make him think otherwise. He was in love, and no matter what I thought of her, it didn't matter. Because he was happy, everything was fine. Until one day we found out the girl my brother was with was a vampire. Until then, my brother and I had only heard of vampires but had never seen one in person. I told my brother to be cautious of her, but he said she seemed cool and wouldn't hurt us. Now on the morning of our birthday, I was packing when I heard a scream. I rushed to the scream, but I was too late.

M-my b-br-brother was lying dead on the floor. I felt my heart break into a million pieces. Katherine pierce, that conniving little bitch, killed my brother. It took months until I figured out why. I went to every vampire or witch I could find to ask them about Katherine. I got her real name, Katerina Petrova. But it took months to find out the reason why she killed my brother. Apparently Katherine was in town looking for a moonstone. She was tipped off that me and my brother had the moonstone so she seduced him." I say, forming fake tears and taking a breath after lying for a good three minutes. They all look at each other after I say the moonstone. Good, they know about it.

I continued my fake story: "When she questioned if he had it. He denied knowing any idea of what she was talking about. After, she attacked him for "lying" but my brother fought back. That is what led him to his death. Once I found out the truth, I swore to make Katherine suffer for what she did to me." I say, my voice breaking.

"I'm so sorry for what Katherine did to you. I know what it feels like to have your family taken away from you." Elena walked up to me. "It's a pain that no matter how much you try to bury it, it always comes back to the surface."

Uh huh. Whatever makes you think I'm trustworthy.

I continued with my sad face. "Yeah, so that's why I confronted Katherine. Once I realized she was trapped, I knew karma got to her before I could." I looked over at Stefan, who still seemed a bit skeptical. "That's why I wanted to be in your group. Because I knew you had ties to Katherine."

"Why didn't you say this earlier?" Stefan asked.

"Sorry, I don't go telling everyone about my personal life." I roll my eyes and say, "But since you have Katherine, I want to thank you. So I can help you with whatever you're dealing with. Whoever this Klaus is, I want to defeat him." I return to my goal of joining their group and protecting the doppelganger.

"Woah woah woah." Damon stated, as he was getting up from his leaning against the wall position. "Who says you can join us?"

"Yeah, I hate to agree with Damon, but he's right. Just because she now has a reason to go to Katherine doesn't mean she can just join us." Stefan stands next to Damon.

"I actually think she can be helpful. I mean if this Klaus guy is as dangerous as Katherine and Rose say, we need all the help we can get. Having an experienced witch would be helpful, and she can help me with my powers." Bonnie stated. I know I'm going to like her.

"Elena, look, this is up to you. Klaus is after you, so what do you want to do?" Stefan told her.

OMG! Elena, this! Elena, that! She's just a human; why does she have so much power?

"Um...I'm not sure. We do need a lot of help, but also we just met her and she may betray us." I'm so bored and hungry. I'm so tired of talking to these people. I felt my magic come back in the middle of my story. Guess that built-up emotion brought it back quicker than I thought. I am so close to just throwing them all across the wall and telling them if they don't let me join, they will get themselves killed. But I decide to take a softer approach.

I stood up while freeing myself from the handcuffs using my magic and brushed myself off. They all just stared at me. "Please, could you make a decision faster? I'm starving right now, and I'd appreciate it if you could hurry up." I stated, crossing my arms.

"How did you get out? Your magic should be gone for another day." Bonnie asked, surprised.

"I guess the spell wasn't really that strong." I lie. The spell was actually pretty strong for a first-year witch like herself. It's typical of a Bennett witch to be this skilled. "But maybe if you let me help, I can get you as strong as I am. So what do you say?"

Bonnie was still looking surprised and probably thinking to herself that she's pretty weak. Hate to make her think that, but I can't let her know how strong I really am. Damon is staring at Bonnie, mad I guess because she didn't keep the spell on me. Elena is looking at Stefan for reassurance about what she's about to say, and Stefan looks like he's finally caving in.

"Okay, you can join us."
