Though countless beings believed they knew his will, whether it was his first generation of immortal children or the multitudes that had sadly misused the gift of free will to try and rob it from others, there was one simple truth in the universe.

God loved everyone.

Yes, some of his more…unique children had sprung into being because he had lacked the foresight to properly clear his workstation before his tinkering.

And yes he had acted rather harshly, and hastily when his more powerful offspring decided that they would no longer accept his teachings without question.

But the fact remained that he loved his creations. Even those that willingly structured their lives to stand against him. Or those who abused the gift of free will to make them unsuitable for the peaceful bliss that was Heaven.

However, despite his deepest desire to ensure that everyone could enjoy the blissful paradise he had established when existence was young, his management style had sadly proven to condemn more than it rewarded.

It started out fine at first. The pact that he made with Abraham and his descendants, and later his words given to Moses allowed his word to truly take root. While there were some hiccups on the way, his prophets and for a time the kings did their best to ensure that any who perverted his teachings - true perversions, such as wanton murder or rape, not fringe laws - or harassed his children because of them would cease their actions. Even those who possessed the fragments of celestial power on Earth had not caused much trouble.

The fate of his son had done much to ensure that word of his teachings were spread further than the stretch of territory Humans now called 'The Holy Land'. But the violence that had sadly ensued from the creation of a new religion, which only grew in ferocity as the followers of his son's movement came into conflict with groups who either rejected his wisdom or had come to believe that their interpterion of his will should be the only method to process their loyalty, had sadly caused him to seek a vacation.

The first such break had lasted in centuries of darkness for most of his human followers before he had acquiesced to Gabriel's request to come back.

But during the beginning of what the humans called the twentieth century, he had established enough safeguards in place to ensure that humanity would not slip into another Dark Age.

Though it appeared that he had once again proven to be wrong.

For in his absence, his eldest children, those who had helped him shape the universe and all its wonders, had sadly allowed themselves to believe that their desires were the same as his.

But though he was saddened by Michael's continued inability to forgive his brother for messing with his plans for humanity, though he had to admit that Lucifer and Lilith did make a cute couple, it was for some of his younger children that cause his heart to ache.

Their initial relationship had been rather, difficult to say the least, and the violent nature of their community had sadly robbed them of many peaceful moments, but in time a true love had come to bloom between James Potter and Lily Evans. And in time that love had resulted in the birth of their son Harry.

Despite hiding from a man whose tragic childhood had resulted in him taking out his rage on others, and the fact that one of their closest friends was nearly bursting with the sins of envy and greed, their lives had done much to remind him that humanity was still at heart a species that he could be proud of.

But then that terrible night happened.

Yes, their actions in life had earned them a place in the Celestial Realm that was now under the day-to-day management of his sons. And yes the one responsible for their death was temporarily vanquished. But young Harry had been forced into a life of cruelty.

God of course had been happy when that funny little group of Demons had gladly accepted the young Potter as one of their own. Giving him both the love and support that had been missing in his life for the past seven years.

But sadly Hell didn't exactly allow for the easy development of a trait that was a key cornerstone of his teachings.

Forgiveness.

With a newfound family choosing to focus on the present and future instead of the past, Harry received no information about the fate of his birth parents. And since he wasn't regularly, if temporarily forced back into a home environment that hated him, like he would have done during his school years if his relatives hadn't ruined the life of that unfortunate soul who had hired the services of the Immediate Murder Professionals, the young wizard had no real reason to connect with a world that provided him a link to his parents.

God of course had watched with sadness as the youngest Potter rejected his parents' genuine offer to be a family again. But he took heart in knowing that said rejection was not motivated out of hatred, but rather loyalty to his Hellish family, whose influence on his personality was growing by the day, and an aspect that sadly most living mortals developed once they had genuine proof that there was an afterlife.

This knowledge usually caused individuals to lose their respect for the thinly divided lines between the living world and the beyond since they know that life, or at least some variation of it, continued. And if Harry had still been living on earth when he learned this fact, there was a strong likelihood of him either wishing to erase this crucial divide or develop a more nihilistic outlook.

There didn't seem to be too much of a danger of that happening at the moment, but his actions towards his birth parents did suggest that he treated their sudden reappearance in his life like they had simply abandoned him to go on vacation instead of struggling to once again be in a position to look out for him.

He suspected that in the future there would be further attempts to integrate themselves into his life. But God knew that if they insisted on having Harry abandon his family in Hell, they would make no progress.

However, God knew that the boy had a great capacity for love. And if given enough time, the potential was there to make him accept them back into his life.

And since his sons, whether they resided in Heaven and had misunderstood his orders to help Hell deal with its population problem, or the one who had been cast out just because he wished to get back at the first Human male who couldn't handle having an equal romantic partner, all had plans revolving around the young Potter, God knew that in the next few years James and Lily would have their chance to try again.

But for now, Harry could grow closer with his adoptive family, especially a certain canine woman and avian teenager. Which meant that by the time he was ready to begin his journey in defeating one of the few human souls that would never experience the joys of Heaven or the horrors of Hell, he would not only have the necessary skill set to not only disrupt the plans of a good-intentioned but sadly misguided chessmaster but also change the very fabric of the society that for the most part hailed him as a savior.

For while he loved all of his creations, there did exist a few individuals that made him wish that his love was more conditional.

But in those cases, a bit of 'tough love' never failed to remind them that there were consequences for their disreputable actions. And once they understood that what they did was wrong, he would be there to forgive them.

For even if some people liked to say otherwise, God was a force of ultimate good. Though he was one of the few beings in existence who realized that being good was not the same as being dark or light.

And as promised, the last chapter before I begin book 1.

Big thanks to Darksycthe Drake for adding some biblical references into this chapter, as well as their usual editing.

When I first started this story, wasn't 100% sure how God would be portrayed, since there are sooo many stories now that God is in fact THE villain. So decided to go with a God whose love is unconditional, but has stepped back to let his children run the home office while on holiday.

I promise to go into further detail later in the story.

Anyways, part of the reason for this chapter was to address the manner in which Harry treated his birth parents. For it touches upon something that I thought of when I first considered righting this story.

In this universe, death is cheap. Unless you have a specific type of weapon, an individual will usually recover from a fatal accident. So with knowledge that dying doesn't exactly rob a person's ability to interact with the world, plus the fact that he is now surrounded by people who make him feel that he matters, without the 2 month period where he is once again an unwanted presence, Harry's ability to acknowledge his parents as, well his parents, has been influenced.

And of course, it will influenced his views on what is morally right or wrong, and thus make him that more unwilling to follow the moral code of Dumbledore. But you will have to wait until then to see what happens.

Anyways, hopefully you all enjoyed this short, but nevertheless crucial chapter.

The next one is gonna take more than a week to write since it is a new setting.

Once again thanks for all of the support shown for this story.

Til next time.
