Though he should have been embarrassed by his current situation, mostly because his landlady had chosen to burden him with the same type of junk James had once used to placate Lily after he had mistakenly made a comment about Lily's 'lunar problem', in truth Sirius could only feel a sense of mounting fear as he slowly approached his destination.

While he was not a stranger to this particular emotion, his early childhood in Grimmauld Place, the years fighting Voldemort's forces, and the realization of Pettigrew's betrayal giving him ample experience with fear, this was perhaps the first time in his new life that he wished to simply turn tail and run.

For it was one thing to face an enemy, be they some bootlicking asshole or his bitch of a mum, but it was quite another to ask for forgiveness from a child who he had been entrusted too look out for.

Ever since his 'demise', he knew that Harry shared some sort of connection with the Imps who had granted him the 'freedom' that was his just punishment.

But discovering that his pup was being raised by trained killers, not only risking his life against the scum of the earth but also Demons who made Alastor seem like a paragon of virtue, at least when he wasn't in one of his 'moods', that was something that he couldn't have imagined in his worse nightmares.

Even if by all signs the kid was happy with his adopted family.

However, since it was his failure to prioritize Harry's well-being over his own selfish desires that had resulted in the Pup's descent into Hell, a story that even a heavily bruised Alastor had been unable, or unwilling, to full share, it was his responsibility to try and do what he could do for the kid.

Plus it wasn't like he had a choice in the manner.

For while he had managed to convince hilandladydy that he needed some time to gather his courage before he once again barged into the office of I.M.P., his delaying tactic proved to have consequences that he didn't foresee.

It was bad enough that he had to atone for his failure as a godparent before he was even remotely ready.

But it was worse that his little quest for redemption came with a chaperone.

"Now remember Sirius, while I understand that you want to seek forgiveness for your actions, you have to remember that it might be more difficult in obtaining it that you originally thought. However, so long as you're sincere, and have a boatload of patience, I have no doubt that you'll succeed in your endeavors."

Doing his best not to sigh at his land lady's optimism, if only because he had witnessed the reminder that despite her genuinely cheerful exterior she was still the daughter of the Devil himself, Sirius found himself sourly chuckling as Charlie's self appointed bodyguard added her own bits of wisdom.

"Also remember to never to blame others for your mistakes unless you have no other choice. The excuse of 'I was only following orders' is somewhat more acceptable down here than in the living world. But at the same time, Demons are more likely to shoot the messenger when they deliver bad news."

Nodding his head to show that he appreciated Vagatha's warning, the canine Sinner took a step towards the entrance of the building.

Only to once again be stopped by the concerns of the blond hotel owner.

"Actually maybe we should stop at a gift shop first. Bringing a display of flowers, or a box of chocolates is always a good way to help break the initial awkwardness. Though since you're apologizing to an eleven-year-old boy, maybe a toy would work better. I know Al said that Harry is something of a weapons enthusiast, but I think bringing a real weapon would send the wrong sort of message. Or maybe.."

"Breathe Hon. Breathe. You're getting a little too wound up there."

Agreeing with the one-eyed moth Demon, even if the hurt expression that was currently being worn by Charlie tugged at his heartstrings in a manner that he had not experienced since James and Lily had introduced him to Prongs Jr, Sirius was about to offer his gratitude for Charlie's support.

Only to have a familiar voice yell down at them.

"HEY! I DON'T GIVE A RATS ASS IF YOU THREE FUCKTARDS ARE HOMELESS! THAT PARKING LOT IS FOR PAYING CLIENTS ONLY! SO UNLESS YOU WANT A BULLET TO THE BRAIN, OR WANNA SEE WHICH END MY LUNCH COMES OUT OF, GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE!"

Frowning at this rather over-the-top display of hostility, not to mention the fact that there was no real cause for shouting, Sirius had to confess that he wasn't too surprised by Charlie's response.

For while it was true that she possessed the power to put a cackling monster like Alastor in his place, albeit temporarily, it was also rather obvious that she had something in common with her famous Uncle.

Though he sincerely doubted that Jesus ever raised to the levels his niece was doing.

"GOOD EVENING KIND SIR! I'M AFRAID THAT THERE'S BEEN A BIT OF A MISUNDERSTANDING! WE ARE NOT HOMELESS! WE COME LO…

"HEY! SHUT THE FUCK UP OUT THERE! SOME OF US ARE TRYING TOO…"

BANG

In his previous life, Sirius would have been disturbed by this display of random violence.

But since he had escaped Azkaban in the only way the Ministry preferred their inmates to leave that wretched prison, the sight of a dead body falling five stories before hitting the pavement merely caused him to frown.

Though that quickly morphed into growling sneer as the Imp went from celebrating his kill to making a connection he really didn't want to think about.

"HA! And that's why it pays to use the homeless and unattended children as targets. You never know when you have to quickly….hey wait! Aren't you that fucking asshole who was desperate enough to whore himself out to my slut of an ex?"

Doing his best to control his temper, for even if he was working for a well-known sex Demon, Sirius Black whored himself to no one, the canine Sinner opened his mouth to offer an angry retort.

Only for a certain spear-wielding woman to cut him off.

"Look asshole. We're here because we want to discuss business with you. Not to…"

"Business? Then why didn't you say so! Even if the job is from a trio of homeless losers, I'll gladly accept your money."

It was at this point that Vagatha finally lost what remained of her patience.

"HEY! This isn't some 'homeless loser'. THIS…is Princess Charlotte. Daughter of Lucifer and Lilith. Heir to the throne of Hell."

Sympathizing with Charlie's sudden look of embarrassment, if only because he knew just how much his landlady didn't like to rely on her parents' name to get what she wanted, Sirius felt himself release a displeased growl as the Imp adopted an attitude that reminded him of the type of Ministry officials that could make even a bastard like Crouch seem sainted.

"Is that sooo? Well come on up your highness. Anything my company can provide is at your service."

"Provided we have the money to pay no doubt."

Doing his best not to chuckle at Vaggie's muttered observation, if only because he wasn't as nimble as Alastor when it came to dodging that spear of hers, Sirius did his best to contain his growing anxiety as they made their way into the building.

For while he was confident he could deal with the loud-mouthed asshole that was the owner of a killers for hire company, he wasn't sure if he could handle the accusing glare he was about to get once he entered that office.

And he wasn't referring to his godson.

"How the fuck did you get back in here?"

Chuckling good-naturedly at his daughter's protective streak, for it was a sign that there was no immediate danger of becoming a father in-law to his whore of an ex's sex puppy, Blitzo gestured for his daughter to stand down as he focused his attention on the only Demon present who deserved his respect.

"Now Loony be nice. Just because this asshole has the hots for you, doesn't mean we can treat him so disrespectfully. I mean, he may be acting as a body guard for the Loser Princess, but the fact remains that she IS a daughter of Lucifer. Which means that we have to wait until they give us their money before we can kick them out."

Respect being a rather loose term when it came to Blitzo.

But considering the less than stable nature of his most prominent romantic relationship, the former circus performer wasn't exactly operating at his best.

Which was why it took him a moment to go from happy to pissed as the rosy cheeked Demon revealed that she had no interest in becoming the latest client of I.M.P.

"Actually we aren't here to hire you. We're here to…"

"Then get the fuck out of my office. Lucifer's kid or not, I only work with those who have the cash or ass to pay me wi…"

"WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST SAY YOU LITTLE PERVERT?!"

Doing his best to retain his dismissive expression, something that was rather difficult to accomplish thanks to the spear that was currently being pointed at his throat by a clearly pissed lesbian, Blitzo wasn't sure if he should laugh in relief or scowl as the one-eyed psycho revealed the reason behind their visit.

"Lets get something straight here. We are not here to hire you to kill someone, or because we think there is anything remotely attractive about you. We're here because you're employing this guy's godchild as an assassin. And he wants to…"

"Whoawhoawhoawhoa! Back up! You don't think there's anything attractive about me?"

His comment earning irritated sighs from everyone but his daughter, who merely rolled her eyes in annoyance, Blitzo felt some of his bravado vanish as he stared into the now growling visage of a clearly pissed-off canine.

"Not in the slightest. Now where the hell is Harry? I know you know where he is. And we're not leaving until.."

Click

Laughing at the understandably nervous expression that was now being worn by the black furred Sinner, though it paled in comparison to the cycloptic bitch's look of helpless rage, the former circus performer wasted not time in praising the efforts of his rescuer.

"Thanks Looney. You're still a little slow with the timing. But the important thing is that you came to my defense when I neede.."

"It's not Loona who came to your rescue sir. It's us."

Unsure if he should be pouting at the lack of daughterly concern, or frowning at the realization that his ass had been saved by Moxxie of all people, Blitzo felt his eyes moisten as Loona revealed that she was finally taking a serious interest in her secretarial duties.

"Easy kid. It's great that you wanna take after your mom and all, and kudos for avoiding detection until you had a clear shot at this fucker's torso. But since we don't have an office cleaning fund until after the Purge, any blood and guts you get on the carpet is going to stay there for the next few weeks."

Doing his best not to smirk as he watched the disappointed eleven-year-old holster his weapon, the former entertainer once again felt his good mood vanish as the walking fur carpet once again drew the attention of everyone.

"Harry? Is…is that you?"

Keeping his attention focused on the suspiciously hopeful looking dog, and ensuring that he wasn't blocking his parents' line of sight should they feel the need to expend some ammo, Harry reacted to the canine Demon's question with the type of respect he felt was warranted for such a situation.

"Depends. Who the fuck are you?"

There were many answers to that question.

A former target who wanted revenge for being forced off the mortal coil before their appointment time.

A bill collector who had been convinced by Blitzo to accept an alternative form of payment.

Or the latest attempt by his winged birth givers to try and rebuild the bridge he was content to remained burnt.

Didn't matter either way since it was clear that canine was an associate of Lucifer's daughter.

Which meant that as much as he wanted to, he couldn't put a few bullets into the black furred Sinner since there was a good chance that doing so could lead to a rather unfortunate accident happening to the Princess of Hell.

However the answer he received was enough to make him wonder if perhaps he could move quick enough to get in a couple of stabs before the idealistic royal got in his way.

"My name is Sirius Black. And I'm you're…you're godfather."

While this announcement temporarily robbed him of his ability to speak or do anything except seeing the possible options in which he could use his slowly lengthening claws, the same could not be said for his dad.

"Sirius Black? Sirius….Wait I remember you! You were that inma…"

"Inmate you killed because you thought I was guilty of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and treason to the Ministry of Magic. At least that's what I assume I was charged with since I never got my trial!"

Though the Sinner's statement was not enough to erase Harry's anger, it was enough to make him remember his dad's advice about having all the facts before acting out.

And since Black's expression was a mix of annoyance, rage, and BEMUSEMENT, it was apparent that there might be an explanation as to why he had never been a presence in his life until now.

Something which was also obvious to his best friend.

Even if her tone made it OBVIOUS that she was still somewhat skeptical about his excuse.

"So you're saying you weren't around for the kid's formative years because of a corrupt legal system? As excuses go….not the worst I've heard."

This of course earned a snort from the Black.

"Tell me about it. I mean, yeah I DID try to murder someone one, which turned out to be a very stupid thing to do since the fucking bastard had expected me to come after him, but…"

"Whoawhoawhoawhoa! Are you saying you were falsely imprisoned for a crime you failed to commit? Well why didn't you say so? At I.M.P., our mission is to gouge, I mean help Sinners who have been fucked over when they were alive."

Shooting the now smiling Imp a glare, a move that was copied both by Loona and his parents, Harry decided to ignore Blitzo's ill-timed attempt to do business as he tried to steer the conversation back towards it's original topic.

"I'm sorry, but could you get back to the bit where you're my godfather, and why the hell I'm only finding out that I had one now instead of ten years ago when I really needed a non abusive parental figure."

Allowing his more demonic side to show as he referenced the living hell that was life with the Dursleys, the black-haired eleven-year-old had to admit that the story he was presented with was not something he could have anticipated.

….

Despite being fully aware of the details that had resulted in Sirius spending the last ten years in utter misery, Charlie nevertheless felt tears spring to her eyes as the black-furred Sinner retold his story to the depressingly hostile eleven-year-old.

She managed to keep them from falling as he spoke of his days as a member of a group of pranksters. For nothing delighted her more than to hear stories of friendship, laughter, and good-natured fun.

Even if there were hints that the Marauders had regularly crossed the line between pranksters and bullies.

The first tear that fell was due to the touching reveal that they refused to give into the dehumanizing policies of an obviously corrupt government.

The next set of tears was caused by Sirius's noble intentions to save those he considered his true family. The waterworks merely increased when it became clear that these actions had been betrayed.

And her final tears, which were now hot enough to burn since she was shifting into her more demonic form, were caused by the reminder that there were some humans less deserving of redemption than others.

If they were truly repentant of their crimes, she would do her best to help them should they ever darken the door of the Happy Hotel. But the actions of Peter Pettigrew, aka Wormtail, were enough to convince her that perhaps she should allow Vaggie or Alastor to handle the early stages of his redemption.

If only because the rat had shown a preference for harsh treatment instead of a loving one.

However, it wasn't her reaction to Sirius's story that mattered.

The female Hellhound was wearing an expression that was remarkably similar to the one Angel wore whenever he realized he was in the wrong, yet was too stubborn, or too scared to apologize.

The white-spotted Imp had the audacity to be checking his phone. Though Charlie suspected that perhaps it was merely an act since she could see the small troubled frown that he was currently wearing.

The Imp couple on the other hand was a bit more willing to show genuine emotions to Sirius's story. Even if the female Imp was wearing an expression of embarrassment to go along with her guilty look.

But it was Harry's reaction that worried her.

"My….I mean the Potters didn't put you up to this did they?"

She supposed it was better than outright rejecting Sirius's apology, but it was obvious to the Princess of Hell that the black furred Sinner was hoping for a different response from the reptilian eyed preteen.

"N…no. I mean, how would they? I had a….friend of mine check the records, and he said that both James and Lily went to, as he put it, the 'Big Attic in the Sky' instead of here. I mean, I'd love to meet your parents ag…"

"My 'parents' are right here in this room. So if you want to reintroduce yourself, now is the time."

Wincing a little at the cold tone of the glaring eleven year old, for she could tell that Sirius was confused, and a little upset by how easily he rejected his connection to the Potters, Charlie was surprised by how the black-furred Sinner responded to this suggestion.

"My apologies. My name is Sirius Black. And I am in your debt for looking after my god…I mean Harry when I wasn't able to."

Happy that the conversation now seemed to be proceeding without the immediate threat of someone getting themselves shot or stabbed, the Princess of Hell couldn't help but notice that only one member of this rather odd family was looking depressed.

The others probably missed it.

But since her time with Angel had given her the ability to detect when someone was trying to conceal their feelings of depression or anguish, it was obvious to the only child of the King and Queen of Hell that something was bothering the jester-like Imp.

She just hoped it wasn't anything too serious.

….

ANNNNND That's it for now.

I know. I KNOW. Left it as a bit of a cliffhanger/some unresolved issues. But don't worry they WILL be addressed next time.

I do apologize for the long wait, but had a lot of things going on lately. Summer course work, work, I got sucked into this depressing but very well done animal advocacy comic named 'Lovely Reaper'…I recommended it even IF IT WILL cause you to tear up. But after some time, and working a little on some other stories, finally managed to finish this chapter.

It's a tad short, but considering what will happen in the next chapter, it's a good lead in.

Anyways to briefly summarize what has happened.

Sirius, accompanied by Charlie and Vagatha go to I.M.P. to FINALLY meet with Harry.

We get Blitzo being, well Blitzo.

And of course Harry's reaction to the news that he had a godfather. I will expand on what happened later. BUT to clarify, BECAUSE of Sirius's backstory, Harry, who is quite happy with his Hell born family, is somewhat willing to treat the former Maruader differently than he did with his birth parents.

Again details in next chapter, but I think its safe to say that being imprisoned by a society that is notably corrupt and lacking in common sense gives Sirius a CHANCE to form a relationship with the I.M.P. rescued Harry that wasn't really available for James and Lily.

Anyways plz review. Check out the TV tropes page since its always fun to read.

Thanks to everyone for their continued words of support.

Til next time.
