Trina got up and stretched, not thrilled about starting the new day, but aware she had no choice. Being an adult wasn't easy, but it had come more easily for her than any of her sisters friends. When they got out into the big bad world, Trina watched as their Hollywood dreams got mulched, one by one. Many suffered, some almost died, and the elder Vega girl was at her limits keeping a few of them from going off the deep end. 'Talent alone just wasn't enough.'

Trina went over the list, how Beck was used for his good looks, then discarded, almost destroyed. How her sister, protected as she was by Mason, wasn't ready when the shift happened and the new boss wanted to discard the old one's pet projects. Or Cat. What had happened to the hyper talented girl shouldn't happen to anyone. One by one, they were pushed to the edge, and more than one had slept on Trina's couch, her floor, or even in her bed. 'And that was back when I had that crappy little apartment…'

Walking to her bathroom, Trina was trying to decide on how she'd approach the day when she remembered, each one had needed a friend to hold them, guide them, and in one case, be the sister she'd never had. 'Okay, Tori claimed the same, and that kinda hurt. But she was in a bad place at the time. I used every bit of cunning I had, as well as my limited contacts in entertainment. Still, she made it, when so many of her friends didn't. I mean, how many wound up abandoning entertainment for another life? Fifty percent, and that would have been higher, except I needed to protect Tori, and that meant protecting HER, and that meant protecting HIM…'

The three who made it, because Trina became their manager, fought for them, made things happen, were Tori, Jade, and Robbie. Trina realized, to protect Tori, she'd have to morph into this manager, competing with the big boys to help her client get parts, make music, whatever to achieve even a bit of a career. Maybe Tori never was the voice that made Nutronium run back to sign her, but she has enough of a career that Trina basically had to subcontract with one of the big management companies. They wanted her.

'I needed Jade to become an independent film maker, cause she could cast Tori. Only, while horror is the most affordable, and many a starlet started as a scream queen, Jade would be against some truly sick competition. So I needed Shapiro, cause I didn't need the looks so much as need the boys ability to humiliate himself for whatever. That I could sell. That's what made Jade shift, do rom-coms, leading to her contract with just about anyone to make more. Jade had made her horror films, but her name is associated with romantic comedies, to the point where she and Tori just finished their first rom-com horror. Now we see if it was worth the effort….'

Robbie had been the biggest complication. Transitioning him into Jade's writing buddy had moved him comfortably out of the spotlight, one of two direction shifts that the fame crazed Trina hadn't expected. The other… "How's out boy?"

Rob looked over at his wife. "David's feeling a touch under the weather, but the worst of it's past." He nodded towards their three year old son, smiling now that the danger had passed. "So, I just need a nap, then I can get back to punching up Jade's latest script…"

"Nahh, Tori only recently seduced her." Trina reminded her man. "Thinking they're still in that honeymoon phase. Why don't you take today and recover. Thinking it'll be good for us both."

"So you're taking the day?" Rob asked.

"Just as soon as I find out what happened to Andre." She sighed. "Boy gave up music after his gran died. I promised Tori I'd find him… Now, that we have the clout to help him come back."

"Unless he's like Beck, or Cat…" The boy's voice froze, remembering the way both were used. Each had needed time to recover, then they put entertainment well behind them.

Oddly, while a Trina story, this is my other Robbie story. Thoughts?
