AN: And we are back with another chapter! Thank you all so much for the support on the last chapter. It really means a lot. So without further adieu let's just jump into it!
A Friend
It was now the next morning and Izuku was woken up by the sound of metal hitting the bed. Opening his eyes he saw several police officers in full riot gear waiting for him. "We have orders to shoot to kill if you try to resist us." The officer said. "I would rather not, so what do you say?"
Izuku nodded, the captain then sat up where they put on a bigger pair of cuffs. "Come on."
He was then led out of the hospital room and into the back of a armored police van. As he was being placed in the back he noticed several heroes on the rooftops above.
"Alright, stay alert. He's on the move." Momo radioed in.
She watched as the van began to drive off. Once out of her section another hero took over watch. This went on all the way to the courthouse.
Once they arrived Izuku was greeted by the bright flashes of cameras. "Captain! A word please!" "What do you have to say to the victim's families?" "Why did you do this?"
Inside the building Izuku met his defense attorney, "You…"
Several dozen reporters and cameras all lined the steps to the courthouse. Izuku said nothing as he was led inside. Even inside the courthouse more police were seen all with their weapons at the ready.
Inside a courtroom Uraraka stood in front, right behind where the defendant would be. She was accompanied by Todoroki and Bakugo, who were there to make sure Izuku wouldn't try anything. The courtroom was packed, officers with shotguns lined the side of the wall, "Who is going to be his defense?" Todoroki asked.
"Don't know, I heard someone volunteered. Private sector." Bakugo answered. "Whoever it is, I sure hope they don't mind the publicity."
Uraraka then got a word through her communicator, "Hey, they are bringing him in."
The doors at the end of the hall opened up, this caused everyone inside to fall silent, "Remember he tries anything take him down. We can't risk anything right now." Uraraka said, as she heard the rattling of chains. But as soon as the Captain came into range her eyes widened, "No way."
Standing right beside him was none other than General Ayano, "Don't worry Captain, I'll get you out of this." she said, assuring him.
The two walked to their designated area and waited for the judge to walk in. "All rise, Judge Kaito is now entering the room."
Taking a seat, the rest of the room followed suit, "Well, this is rather a strange case. Normally the public isn't allowed at the arraignment, but it seems like you, Mr. Izuku Midoriya…"
"It's Captain, your honor." Ayano said, cutting off the judge.
The judge raised an eyebrow, "I'm sorry?"
"It's Captain Midoriya, I believe his past military service to this country has earned him the respect of the title. So I ask that you refer to my client as Captain Midoriya or simply captain. Your honor." Ayano said much to everyone's surprise.
The judge blinked a couple of times before nodding, "I see, I suppose that's fair, very well then. Your client, Captain Midoriya. Is being charged with several dozen counts of murder in the first degree. How does the captain plead?"
Ayano stood up, "Not guilty your honor. And we are immediately asking for the court to dismiss all charges. Under section 34a of the military code of conduct, any and all present military personnel are subject to military law. Therefore we are asking for Captain Midoriya to be released into Special Forces custody until he is able to stand trial in a military setting."
The judge took off their glasses, "And why would you find it important to do something like that? Is my courtroom not enough?"
"The court has already failed to protect my client and his family once. This trust that is meant to be with the public is now shattered. Therefore a military court will be more fitting." The entire courthouse was in shock.
"I heard of the tragedy of what happened to the Captain's family, but that doesn't excuse what he's being accused of." The judge said.
"But he also has a right to be judged by his peers. In this case, it's a military matter." General Ayano said.
The judge then began to think about it, that's when the prosecution stood up, "You're honor you can't let this happen. Military law and civilian law are very different, if he is placed in Special Forces custody he could walk free. Captain Midoriya committed these crimes in a civilian setting therefore he should be judged by the state, not the military."
"That would be true if he was a civilian." Ayano explained. "At the time of these alleged crimes Captain Midoriya was still a part of the military. Therefore subject to military law."
Closing his eyes the judge thought long and hard about this, but ultimately couldn't decide on the spot. "We will reconvene in three days. However, due to the nature of the crimes I am ordering Captain Midoriya to be held at Tartarus."
With a strike of the gavel the judge got up and walked out of the courtroom. Ayano and Izuku talked amongst each other as everyone else was escorted out. That's when the prosecution came over, "So you must be General Ayano. I've heard a lot about you."
Ayano turned, "Why thank you."
"So, how do you want this to go down?" The prosecution asked. "We are willing to take a plea deal of life in prison to avoid the death penalty."
"Oh we aren't accepting any plea." Ayano said with a smile. "If this does stay in civilian court we are willing to send this to trial. Besides, it's not like he will be here much longer. I'm certain that the judge will rule in our favor. But you can drop the charges if you like."
"That won't be happening." Uraraka said beside them. "Captain Midoriya will face justice."
"Maybe, maybe not. But one thing is for certain, once a jury or military panel hears about what happened leading up to these events, there's not a single person who would condemn him for it." Picking up her papers Ayano motioned for the guards.
They came over and began to escort Izuku out of the courtroom. As they did however, Uraraka rushed over, "I want to speak to you later, if that's alright."
Izuku stayed silent for a while, "Do whatever you want, I don't care."
The judge had ordered Izuku to be taken to Tartarus, this was Japan's supermax prison and home to the worst of the worst. Changing into an orange jumpsuit, Izuku was led down the halls, his arms and legs cuffed.
Normally the cells were three walls and iron bars, but inside Tartarus it was three reinforced steel and a sliding metal door that had a small slot for food.
As Izuku walked down the corridor he could see the faces of the prisoners through the glass. "Those are your new friends." One of the guards said as they walked him. As Izuku walked, he also noticed that everyone wore a collar with a solid red light, the same one Izuku had on. "Alright, get in." The guard said, arriving at an empty cell.
Once inside the other guards removed the cuffs on Izuku. "Lights out at 9 pm. You get 1 hour in the yard every day. Lunch is at 1 pm, if you aren't awake for breakfast at 8 am, you'll get nothing. Understand?" Izuku said nothing.
"Oh yeah, one more thing. That collar around your neck, quirk suppression collars. Negates every quirk someone has, it also works as a shock collar. So try to remove it, or try to fuck with us." The guard then pressed a button on his belt.
Izuku's eyes widened as a powerful bolt of electricity coursed through his body forcing him to his knees. "You get tased." Letting the button go, the guard stopped the taser. "Now get some sleep. You'll need it for tomorrow." With that the cell door closed shut.
Izuku grunted and groaned as he sat down on the bed. "Fuck…now what the hell am I supposed to do?" Laying down Izuku sighed, "Overhaul is out there while I'm here? Fuck that, I'll find a way out." Closing his eyes he began to fall asleep.
It was 3 am and the lights inside the facility were off, but unknown to everyone else three people stopped in front of Izuku's cell. "Open it." one ordered.
The door slid up revealing inside the room, the three men then walked inside and looked at the bed, "There he is. Grab him, boss is waiting."
They then reached for the blanket and pulled it off, but much to their surprise it wasn't Izuku, it was a pillow and some clothes. "What the hell? Where the hell is he?"
"Here." Izuku said from above. Dropping down he landed on one of the men, slamming his head into the floor he swung at another. Hitting him in the face the third man rushed in and hit Izuku in the ribs with a hard left. Wincing in pain Izuku focused on the third, stepping back he dodged another hit. Countering he punched the man so hard that he sent him to the floor. Once on the floor Izuku stomped on his head. But as he focused on that one, the second man came up and grabbed Izuku from behind, at the same time the first man was getting up. "I got him! Kick his ass."
Seeing the first man charge him, Izuku jumped up and kicked the man in the chest. With his feet back on the ground Izuku pushed against the one holding him. Reaching the wall the man hit his head. Dazed, he loosened his grip on Izuku, taking this chance Izuku grabbed his arm and snapped it with his elbow. The man was about to scream but Izuku grabbed his head and slammed him against the wall, knocking him out.
Two down, one to go. Appearing from the side, the first man hit Izuku in the face, causing blood to run down his nose. Now angry, Izuku let out a roar and grabbed the man by the shoulders. Pulling his head back he delivered a powerful headbutt that knocked the man out and shattered his nose.
Breathing heavily and with blood dripping down his nose Izuku looked around, "What the fuck was that."
"Huh, guess the rumors were true." Izuku turned to find the guard who escorted him to his cell. "You're a natural born killer."
Spitting on the floor, Izuku spoke, "What the hell was this?"
"Boss wanted to see if you were the real deal." The guard looked at the men on the floor. "Guess he was right. Come on, boss wants to meet you."
Interested in where this was going, Izuku stepped over the men and walked out of his cell. He was then led into a deeper part of the prison. This place had no windows and no other inmates. They then walked up to a massive door, Izuku recognized it, "These are the types of doors you put in bunkers."
"We need it." the guard explained. "If he ever got out."
The massive door opened up revealing a man, sitting down on a chair connected to several tubes and wearing a breathing mask. But that's not what surprised Izuku, it was the man's face, it was horribly disfigured. "Ahh, you're finally here. Please, have a seat."
Izuku was directed to a chair just in front of the man, "You may go now guard, I will call you when I'm done." nodding, the guard took off and closed the massive blast shield doors. "Now, do you know who I am?"
"All For One." Izuku answered. "You terrorized Japan a few years ago before being defeated by All Might. You were also on the list."
"I'm surprised to think the country would have used the special forces to take me down. Tell me, would the Special Forces succeed?" AFO asked.
Izuku narrowed his eyes, "Considering what they knew back then…Yes."
AFO smiled, "I see."
"Why am I here?" Izuku asked.
"You are here because I wanted you here, to give you a choice." AFO explained. "You see, I heard you are looking for Overhaul."
"That's right." Izuku was now confused, "Why do you care?"
"I don't, not about him at least. Who I do care about is Shigaraki. He is currently working with the Yakuza boss, so I would like you to back off. You know, show a bit of restraint when it comes to Overhaul. After all, you might target Shigaraki next." AFO said.
"Or else what?" Izuku asked. "This seems more like a demand than a request."
"Or else you won't live to see the courtroom again." AFO said sternly. "You will die here."
Izuku hummed, "I see, let me ask you something. Was this Shigaraki involved with the deaths of my mom and wife?"
"As far as I know, no." AFO answered.
"Okay, then he has nothing to worry about." Izuku said standing up. "I'm only after the ones responsible for their deaths. As long as he's not involved then he should be fine, nothing else matters to me."
AFO smiled, "Very well, you may go."
Izuku turned and was escorted out of the cell, once he was gone AFO called over another guard, "Kill him."
The guard was surprised, "But sir, he said he would leave Shigaraki alone."
"He won't." Said AFO. "He already knows Shigaraki was involved, if we don't kill him now he will go after him. And that is something I can not allow to happen. Make it grand, I want the world to see it."
Three days went by fast, and it was now time for a decision from the judge. But the crowd outside the courthouse grew, people were now holding out signs and chanting "Let Captain Midoriya free!"
There were at least several hundred people and the police needed help. The local heroes were called in to help with crowd control. Those included all of former class 1A. "That's a lot of people wanting him to go free." Kirishima mentioned. "Why though? He killed people."
"It's who he killed that made people like this." Jiro said. "Think about it, by killing those Yakuza he made that area a bit safer than it was. They had control over ghettos and poor areas. Those people are struggling but they still want and need the basic protection we heroes give. To them the Captain is their hero."
"But it's still wrong." Mina said. "There's already been a copycat. And more could still show up. Fortunately they don't seem as smart as him."
"That's enough." Said Aizawa's voice. "Focus up, he's almost here."
Just then several armored cars and one van came rolling up from the street. The cameras flashed as Izuku was taken to the back entrance. The cars stopped and out walked several officers in riot gear. "Area secured, bring him out."
From the van the back door opened, Izuku stepped out . He wore his orange jumpsuit and handcuffs.
Being escorted by two offers he was led into the back entrance. Once inside he found Uraraka waiting for him, "Captain…"
"Hero. Quite the noise I'm hearing." He said, as the chants could be heard.
"Yeah, quite the mess you made." She said, "Come on, let's get you to the courtroom."
The group then walked down the halls of the courthouse. "Sorry about not visiting you." Uraraka said as they walked. "I was tied up with hero stuff."
Izuku smirked, "I wasn't expecting you to show up anyway. Not like anyone cares."
"I do." Said Uraraka. "I still care." She then reached into her utility belt and pulled something out. "Here, I thought you should have this."
Izuku grabbed it, and when he saw what it was his eyes widened. "H-How did you.." it was a picture of himself and Rin.
"That stuff I was doing, I went through the remains of your house and found that. It was the only thing that survived." Uraraka explained.
Holding the picture close Izuku looked up at the hero, "Thank you…"
Izuku was then led into the courtroom where General Ayano was waiting for him, "Good to see you again Captain."
"General. So how does it look?" He asked.
"Can't say. There's a chance this moves to military court but there's no guarantee." Ayano said. "Don't worry if it doesn't, I'm still a damn good civilian lawyer."
The judge then walked in, once at his seat the rest followed. "Thank you all for coming, I know these last couple of days haven't been easy for everyone. To the topic at hand, should Captain Midoriya be tried in civilian law or in military law. I've thought long and hard about this. While it is true we owe the captain some debt for what he has done for this country. I believe that doesn't make up for the crimes he has been accused of. So that is why we will be keeping this trial where it is. Captain Midoriya will face a civilian jury and be judged by them." Ayano stood up, but before she could say anything the judge lifted his hand. "I know what you're going to say General. I'm sorry but this trial will stay here. We will make opening arguments in one week time. During that time the Captain will remain in prison. That is all." With a strike of the gavel the judge stood back up and walked out.
Izuku sighed as the judge left, "Don't worry, I'll bring in the very best. You will get through this." Ayano said, trying to reassure him.
"I don't deserve to be here General." Izuku said, growing frustrated.
Ayano agreed, "I know Captain, just hold on a bit longer. I have some favors I can cash in, I will get you out."
With that the guards came to pick up Izuku, leading him out of the courtroom and into the halls. They were immediately swarmed by reporters and cameras, "Captain Midoriya, is it true you are doing this for revenge?" "Do you have any words for the people saying you do more good than the heroes?"
The guards quickly escorted him to the back entrance, as they were the heroes were seen following close behind. Once inside the truck they began to drive off. For this route they had to pass in front of the courthouse where all the news stations were.
"Alright, you guys know what to do." Uraraka said through everyone's earpiece. "Don't lose sight of that truck."
But as soon as she said that a massive explosion took out the lead car. The caravan of cars and trucks came to a screeching stop. They tried to reverse but the truck at the end was also blown up, they were now trapped.
To make matters worse, several Nomu suddenly turned the corner and were heading straight towards the van Izuku was in. "We got an ambush! Jiro, Kirishima, Kamanari, Sero, protect the civilians and move them out of harm's way. The rest of you follow me, we're going down there."
With their assignments everyone took off, Uraraka and the rest went down to check on those who were caught in the explosion. "Bakugo, Mina with me. Head towards the transport and secure the inmate."
The two nodded and ran towards the transport truck. Reaching it Mina used her acid on the door and easily broke in. Helping the guard out, Mina then moved to the back where Izuku was being held.
Opening the doors they saw Izuku upside down with blood dripping down his head. "Captain, you alive?"
Izuku groaned in pain, "Yeah, get me out of here." Crawling inside Uraraka cut him free, once out the captain stood up straight and was now face to face with Bakugo. "Huh, surprised you're here."
"You two can talk later, right now we got several Nomu heading our way." Mina warned. "We need to move."
"Mina is right, head back to the courthouse." Uraraka ordered.
But as they were about to move, several Nomu came crashing down around them. The three heroes formed a circle around Izuku, "Looks like I'm their target." Izuku said, as he looked around. "Any ideas?"
"Yeah, break out of here." said Bakugo as explosions appeared on his hands. "Uravity, stick with the prisoner. Pinky…"
Mina nodded, "Already ahead of you. Get down." Bakugo ducked, Uraraka grabbed Izuku and forced him down. "Acid, 100%!" That's when Mina gathered acid and spun around. The acid sprayed all over the Nomu causing them to melt. With their path now free, Uraraka pushed Izuku up and towards the courthouse.
As they ran they passed several other heroes fighting off Nomus, police officers firing their weapons, and civilians running. "Is the yakuza working with the league of villains again?" Mina asked as they continued to throw acid.
"Has to be." Bakugo yelled as he blew away a Nomu.
"We can worry about that later. Right now we have to get to the…" but as Uraraka was talking she suddenly felt lightheaded. Grabbing her head her vision began to blur, "W-What…I'm drunk?" She looked behind to see Mina already on the floor asleep, Bakugo was still up but was wobbling. "I-I remember, one of the eight fingers had a quirk to make us act drunk….Captain…"
Izuku was on his knees barely able to keep himself from falling over, "D-Damn it…"
"Damn it is right." said a voice. Izuku looked up and saw a man wearing a plague doctor's mask and a gray coat.
"O-Overhaul?" Izuku questioned.
The man scoffed, "No, the boss wouldn't waste his energy on you. Although, you did mess with our operation for a while. But rest assured, you were nothing but a bump in the road."
"H-HA, guess Overhaul is too much of a coward to kill me himself." Izuku said mockingly.
Hari took a knee in front of Izuku, "No, he just wanted you dead and the world to see it."
Izuku watched as what seemed to be a needle appeared from the man's forehead. Aimed for the space between his eyes, Izuku could do nothing as he awaited his death.
But just as the needle was going to hit Izuku's dizziness suddenly went away. Izuku turned and rolled to his right, the spike still managed to cut him but the damage was minimal.
"What? The Deidoro's quirk stopped. What happened?" Hari asked as turned. But before he could a blade pierced his abdomen. Grunting in pain the Yakuza member fell to his knees as the blade was pulled out of him.
Hitting the floor Hari now laid dead beside Izuku, "All this just for you." The captain looked up and couldn't believe his eyes.
"Y-You. Reports said you died years ago." A sword then came thundering down, slicing the chains on Izuku's arms and legs. "The hero killer, Stain."
Stain wore black and red ragged clothes with a black mask. He had two swords, both seemed to be rusted and old. "I was dead. That is until I saw you." He then reached out, "On your feet. It's time for you to go. If you're really worthy then you can escape from here."
Izuku took his hand and stood up, "Why? Why help me?"
Stain put his sword away, "Because the world needs to see that the heroes aren't willing to do what we do. We have to show them." He then tossed something to Izuku. "Take that, you'll need it if you want to kill Overhaul."
The captain noticed that it was a USB drive, "I know what you've done, in the past. Those heroes you killed. If we cross paths again, I will kill you."
Stain smiled, "I guess we really are villains in other people's stories. Oh, and you should tell your friends to not be so obvious." With that the hero killer ran, leaving Izuku to his own.
Now free from his chains Izuku could now move more freely. But with the quirks causing them to stumble now gone the heroes too began to get up. Knowing he couldn't take them on in a fair fight, Izuku did the only thing he could think of.
As Uraraka was getting she grabbed her head, "Uhhh, that quirk sucks. It feels like I'm hung over. Mina, Bakugo, are you two alright?" She asked, her vision returning to normal.
"Sorry about this." The captain said, appearing behind the hero. Grabbing her arms and pulling them behind her back, Izuku then grabbed a sharp piece of metal and held it up to the hero's neck.
Both Mina and Bakugo finally returned to normal, but as they looked around they noticed the situation they were in. "Ochaco!" They yelled out.
They tried to step forward but the captain pressed the metal against her neck, "Don't move. Another step and she dies."
The heroes froze in place, "Midoriya, let her go." Bakugo demanded.
"No, now back away. I tried playing nice with you heroes but you guys keep getting in my way. It seems like you care more about Overhaul than my wife. But no more, playtime is over." Izuku began to take a few steps back. "Maybe now you'll leave me alone. Now she's coming with me, don't try to follow me or she dies."
Just then several Nomu dogs appeared and began attacking Bakugo and Mina. Taking this chance Izuku quickly began to escape with Uraraka as his hostage.
As he was escaping, several Yakuza henchmen chased after them. They powered up their quirks but before any of them could use them they all fell over dead. Those who remained were quickly killed as they too fell over dead.
Izuku's eyes widened as he noticed what had happened, the sound, he knew it all too well. It was the whistling of a bullet flying over them, "Those idiots, I told them not to get involved." He smiled, "Guess I owe them now."
Uraraka saw the blood pool underneath the dead henchmen, "W-Was that?"
"You don't need to know." Izuku answered, pulling her along. "Keep it moving."
"Fine, then at least tell me where we're going." Uraraka demanded.
Turning the corner Izuku's eyes turned serious, "Someplace safe."
From a roof several blocks away 6 glint's of scopes lined the roof. "General, the Captain has managed to escape." the man said, activating his comms.
Back inside the court house General Ayano had her earpiece in, "Good work boys. Return to base, we can't risk getting caught."
"Ma'am, you should know, there was another. Someone saved the Captain from death." The soldier said, much to the general's confusion .
"Who was it?" She asked.
"Unknown Ma'am, but we'll have an answer soon. Whoever it was, they spoke to the captain briefly before leaving."
The general nodded, "Right, I want to know who it is by sunset. Anyone who could get close to the convoy is obviously skilled. But after you clear out. Over."
Ayano sighed as she rubbed the bridge of her nose, "I know you didn't want us involved, Captain. But we couldn't just sit around and let them take you. Besides, we stick together and no one gets left behind."
Hours Later
Inside the old abandoned warehouse Izuku was gathering his things. "Hey, don't you think this is a bit much?" Uraraka asked, while being tied up she was kneeling but her arms outstretched so she couldn't use her quirk, "I can't win in a fight against you anyway."
Izuku didn't even turn around, "I know but this way is better than what I had originally thought of."
Uraraka raised an eyebrow, "What was the original plan?"
"To break your fingers." Izuku said calmly. "I still can if you want."
"No, no, that's alright." Uraraka moved her arms but the chains were attached to the walls of the warehouse. She then noticed her helmet and gauntlets were thrown on the floor just a few feet away but just out of reach, "So what's the next move? You kill me?"
"Not yet." Izuku said, grabbing his pistol.
"Then why am I here? You could have let me go and I wouldn't know where you hid out. What's the plan Captain?" Uraraka asked.
Izuku walked over to Uraraka, gun in hand he squatted down, "You know I met All For One." Uraraka's eyes widened, "Yeah, All Might's big bad. Want to know how I met him, the guards. The guards at that prison are all working for him."
"You lie." Uraraka said angrily.
"They let three inmates into my cell and tried to kill me. The only way to open cells is through the guard station. That prison isn't a prison Uraraka, it's a goddamn resort." he then sighed. "And now I know he was in on it too."
"Who?" Questioned Uraraka. "In on what?"
"The League of Villains. They were involved in Rin's murder. The Yakuza and the league are working together." He then stared at Uraraka. "But you knew that already didn't you?"
The hero looked away, "And there it is, that guilty look of yours. How long?"
"Captain…we didn't…" but as she tried to justify herself Izuku glared at her.
"How long?" Izuku asked again.
Still unable to face him, she answered, "Since UA."
Izuku couldn't help but laugh, "Oh, oh that's just funny. No, that's great. You knew all this time." Stepping away you could tell he was angry, but his rage calmed. "Why? Why hide this from everyone?"
Uraraka finally looked up, "Back when we discovered it All Might had just gone into retirement. If the public knew then there would be chaos in the streets. We had to give the people hope that everything would have been fine."
"Yet you heroes didn't do anything about it? Why? Did you hope you could have stopped them? Or was it because people are redeemable?" He then grabbed her face, "There is no saving those animals. And I'll show you exactly that."
Letting her go Izuku then walked over to a couch, "Try and get some sleep. You'll need your strength." With that the captain laid down.
"H-Hey, you can't leave me like this." Uraraka said, "It's getting cold."
Izuku waved her off, "You'll be fine."
As the night went on the temperature in the building did drop. It was starting to get cold, to the point that the chains holding Uraraka began to rattle from her shaking. She tried curling up in a ball to keep herself warm but that didn't really help.
Waking up the next morning Uraraka noticed that a blanket was placed on her as she slept. She looked around and noticed Izuku on a laptop, "Good you're awake." He said noticing her. "You're all over the news." he then turned the laptop around and showed Uraraka the headlines. "Hero missing, escaped convict. Coincidence or Bonnie and Clyde scenario? Funny."
"Can you blame them? If only they saw this current situation I'm in." Uraraka said.
Izuku stood up, "Don't worry. I won't hurt you."
Uraraka scoffed, "Oh yeah then what was shooting me in the shoulder about? Or putting a sharp piece of metal up to my neck?"
"If I wanted you dead you'd be dead. The only reason I don't kill you is because you rem.…" Izuku stopped himself.
Uraraka saw the shocked look on Izuku's face, "Captain?"
Biting his lip the captain turned, "It's nothing." He then got up, "I'll be back later. Try not to cause any trouble for me."
With that Izuku grabbed a duffle bag and put on his jacket. Sliding the door open he was just about to leave when Uraraka called out to him, "Thank you, for the blanket." Without saying a word Izuku left the warehouse.
Once he was gone Uraraka looked at her helmet. "If I can reach it, then I can activate the tracker. Better yet, if I can reach my gaudlet then I can break out of here."
Unable to use her hands, Uraraka used her legs to try to reach her gauntlet. She tried rolling it toward her, but the angle was wrong which would have only moved it further away. She needed to somehow move it towards her.
The tips of her feet managed to touch them but without that extra room to wrap it around and kick it towards her it could prove to be difficult. The chains were holding her back, literally.
Looking at the shackles around her wrists Uraraka got an idea, she wasn't going to like it, and it was going to hurt, but she had no other choice. "H-How did the captain do it?"
Moving her wrists around she tried the same trick Izuku used to break free from the cuffs. With one good twist of her wrists a loud pop sound was heard as she dislocated her wrist. Uraraka groaned in pain as she tried to control her breathing. "Fuck fuck fuck…that hurts."
But that gave Uraraka just enough reach to move her gauntlet. Using her leg she pushed it towards her once near her thigh she squeezed it pointing then front towards where the chains meet the wall. "If I can aim this right, then…" squeezing her thighs together caused the gauntlet to fire its grapple wires.
The wires hit the part where the chains meet the wall and managed to move it slightly. "Enough times and I can probably loosen it from the wall. Problem is this might take forever and I don't know when the captain will be back. Still I can't waste time."
For 3 long hours Uraraka kept it up, missing her target several times but slowly and surely she managed to loosen the part attached to the wall. With one hard tug the metal plate was ripped off the wall freeing her. "Finally!"
With one arm free she could finally free herself from the other chain. Once off she was able to remove them both, popping her wrists back in place Uraraka looked around, "I have to get out of here. Captain Midoriya could be on his way back."
Quickly grabbing her helmet Uraraka turned on the tracking beacon. "Base command this is Uravity, does anyone hear me?"
Static was heard on the other side for several seconds before finally a voice, "Uravity, is that you?"
"Yes! Yes it's me!" Uraraka said, happy to hear a voice. "I need all available heroes at my location."
"Roger that, we have your location. Froppy and Pinky are 8 minutes out. Hold tight." The voice said. "Are you hurt?"
"I'm fine, I was being held at an unknown location by Captain Midoriya. He stepped out a couple of hours ago, and hasn't returned since." Uraraka explained. "If you hurry, we can catch him once and for all."
"Understood, heroes are on the way." With that the person on the other side relaid the information to the others.
With nothing to do but wait Uraraka decided to take a look around. She noticed his little work bench and walked over. There she found a Glock 19 that she held onto. She then found the laptop Izuku was using beforehand and a flash drive attached to it. "What's that?"
Clicking the drive Uraraka opened the contents of the USB drive. Inside she found a list of names and locations, some were crossed out while others weren't, "These are known Yakuza members. The ones who were crossed out must have been killed by Midoriya. Wait, there's something else…" Uraraka dove deeper into the files. "What's project correction? Wait, quirk erasing bullets, like the ones back at UA…no, the composition is different. The effects of the drug can be permanent!?"
"How did you get out?" A voice asked behind the hero. Turning around quickly, Uraraka found Izuku, holding a duffle bag, "You weren't supposed to be free yet."
He took a step forward, but as he did Uraraka pulled out the Glock 19 she found on the desk and aimed directly at Izuku. "Stay right where you are." Izuku stopped, "I already called for backup. You're coming with me Captain, it's over."
Izuku dropped the bag, "Is that so? Then I have nothing left to lose." He then took a step forward, and then another.
Uraraka held the gun in place, "Stop!" She ordered. "Don't make me shoot you Captain."
But he wouldn't stop, "You better aim right at my head, Uraraka, because I'm not stopping."
Uraraka then fired a shot towards Izuku, which fortunately missed, but just barely. "I will shoot you." She said, her hands now trembling.
"Hold it with two hands, you'll have better aim like that." Izuku said now only a few steps away. "I told you before, Uraraka, that you will have to choose. And right now, you have a chance to stop me for good. It's what some people want isn't it? I mean you're the one who elevated my villain rank to A, meaning you authorized the use of deadly force. So come on, deal with the threat Uravity."
He then stopped in front of Uraraka, "Take the shot. Come on, take the shot. End the threat."
The gun trembled in Uraraka's hands, "Please, don't make me do this."
Izuku then reached out and grabbed the gun and pressed the end of the barrel to his forehead, "Come on do it!"
Even with Izuku yelling at her Uraraka looked away and lowered the gun, "I-I can't…"
"Why not? It's easy…" Izuku then took the gun from her hands and pointed it at the side of his head, "Let me show you."
Uraraka's eyes widened, "NO!" she yelled, reaching out to stop him.
But she was too late, Izuku squeezed the trigger. A single shot was heard as Uraraka tackled Izuku to the ground. Izuku looked up to see Uraraka's face over his, "Y-You idiot!" She barely managed to knock the gun away in time.
Izuku sighed. "Why did you jump to stop me? You could have let me die and saved dozens of people from dying."
Tears then began to run down Uraraka's face, she then suddenly punched Izuku in the face. "Because I fucken care about you!" she yelled out. Punching him again as her tears fell on Izuku's chest, "I want you to stop! I want you to live, this crusade you're on, you have to let it go!"
"Are you telling me I should forget about Rin?" Izuku questioned.
"No! That's not what I'm saying!" She yelled, now grabbing him by his shirt. "We all have our own way of grieving, but this, all the killing, when does it end Captain?"
"It ends when Overhaul and all those pieces of shit are dead." Izuku then looked into Uraraka's eyes, "Or I am."
The hero gritted her teeth and punched him again, "You fucken…Killing him won't bring Rin back! She's dead captain, dead!"
Now it was Izuku's turn to get pissed off, grabbing her by the arms the captain got up and slammed the hero into a nearby wall. "I know!" He yelled, as blood ran down his nose. Uraraka could feel his grip tighten. But then much to her surprise, he hung his head, "...I know she's gone. And killing Overhaul won't bring her back…"
Tears then hit the floor by Uraraka's feet, "But what am I supposed to do? If I can't even avenge her death, then what am I supposed to do? That's all I have left…"
Water welled up in the hero's eyes, here was Captain Midoriya, the leader of Japan's Special Forces and possibly the deadliest person on the planet, crying in front of her.
Without saying anything else Uraraka wrapped Izuku in a hug. The tears that filled her eyes were now falling, "You still have me Captain. Please, I don't want to see you turn into something you're not. So I'll ask one more time…"
Izuku wiped away the tears and broke the hug, the two now looked at each other. Uraraka extended out her hand, and Izuku looked at it. "Will you let me help you?"
The captain took a second to think, but as he did his body reacted and slowly began to raise his arm. Uraraka saw this and was happy, his hand was just a few inches away, if he just took her hand she could help him.
Unfortunately, that wouldn't come to pass as Izuku stopped his hand just as he was going to take hers. "I'm sorry." He said, sadness in his voice. "But no." The captain dropped his hand.
Uraraka was shocked, "Captain…"
But before she could ask why, the wall on the far end exploded. The explosion sent several pieces of debris flying everywhere. This forced both of them to take cover. "Are you sure this is the place?" A woman asked, walking into the warehouse from the blown away wall.
"From what Shigaraki told us, yeah. This should be the place." A man's voice said.
"Alright then, Nomu!" The woman yelled. Just then several Nomu appeared behind her. "Search this place, if you find the guy, kill him. Along with anyone else in this place."
The Nomus all nodded before entering the area. Izuku and Uraraka were hiding behind the table, "How did they find this place?" Izuku asked, picking up the gun, duffle bag, and laptop.
The hero saw the gun, "You know as well as I do that, that gun won't do anything to a Nomu. The heroes are a few minutes out, we have to wait for them."
"We can't stay, we stay, we die." Izuku said, "Come with me."
Taking her hand, Izuku led Uraraka to the back of the warehouse. There on the floor there appeared to be a manhole cover. Grabbing it Izuku lifted it up and tossed it aside, "Come on, we can get out through here."
The two were about to climb down but before they could they heard the sound of breathing behind them. Izuku didn't even turn to look, instead he grabbed Uraraka and went down the manhole. The Nomu swung but just missed.
Hitting the floor Izuku groaned in pain as he took the brunt of the fall. "Captain, come on." Uraraka said, picking him up.
The entrance was small enough that the Nomu couldn't fit through, but they couldn't stay. Running through the tunnel they eventually got out and we're a few blocks away.
Finally able to take a breath, Uraraka breathed a sigh of relief. "Finally, some fresh air."
"Yeah…" Izuku said, in pain.
Uraraka turned to find Izuku grabbing at his side, "Captain, what's wrong?" She asked.
Removing his hand he showed a massive gash wound on his side. It seems like the Nomu didn't miss, "Guess I wasn't fast enough." He then looked at Uraraka, "Last chance hero, what are you going to do?"
Uraraka was concerned, but knew that this would be the perfect chance. 'He's hurt, the others are on the way…if I can capture him then this would be over. But if I do that…'
Serval thoughts began flooding into her mind, but after a few seconds she made her mind up. "Leave." She ordered, much to Izuku's surprise. "Go, before I change my mind."
Izuku nodded, "I'll be seeing you around hero."
Both Izuku and Uraraka turned to leave but after a few steps Izuku stopped. "Uraraka." he called out. She stopped and looked back, "Thank you, for trying."
With that, they both went their separate ways. Izuku went off to regroup and replan everything, while Uraraka left to think about the decision she just made.
Back inside the warehouse, the two villains and Nomus had finished searching for Izuku. "They left." The male villain said. "Should we follow them? Of course we should! Let's go Toga!"
But Toga shook her head, "No, the heroes will be here soon. Let's head back, besides." She then looked at the Nomu who had blood on its claws.
Walking over to the beast she smiled before pulling out a knife and cutting the Nomus arm off from the wrist.
Catching the severed hand before it fell she blushed, "Now this is some good blood."
