Chapter 21
It took only a matter of days before the entire town knew of Brooke and Lucas reuniting as a couple. The two weren't exactly being private about it both showing off pda whenever they could. After all that had happend it seemed like there was peace. Pure joy and happiness. For all involved.
Especially Sawyer who was loving the time she spent with both her dad and Brooke. At times they felt like a family. Which is what Sawyer longed for so much.
"Karen. Did you come by to talk or buy something?" Brooke asked. Once she saw her enter the clothing store.
"What exactly are you're intentions with my son and my granddaughter for that matter?" Karen asked.
"Well no one knows what the future holds. But i love Lucas. And i love Sawyer very much. I want nothing more then to build a life with them. A future. Whatever that looks like." Brooke replied.
"Sawyer has a mother or have forgotten Peyton exist?" Karen asks.
"I will never try to replace Peyton but we both know. Peyton didn't want to be a mother or a wife. She was my best friend."
"I'm not trying to take her place with Lucas or Sawyer. We've known each other a long time. That shouldn't be a surprise." Brooke proclaimed.
"They were a family. Peyton made mistakes." Karen said.
"Peyton made choices. Lucas gave her what she asked for and she blew his world apart and planned to give Sawyer away."
"I think you're wrong about her and my son is acting out of being lonley and needing someone to fill the mother role for his daughter." Karen proclaimed.
"You're holding Peyton to a standard she's not capable of reaching."
"She never loved Lucas or Sawyer. Her actions are loud and her words are empty. I hope one day you realize that." Brooke said.
Karen left the store after that. Replaying the recording.
Jumping as she heard Lucas's voice. The phone falling from her hands.
...
"It's my one and only." Peyton said.
Sawyer rushed over. The chained fence seprating them. The echo of kids playing nearby.
"Momma. What are you doing here?" Sawyer asked.
"I came here for you. To put our family back together." Peyton replied.
"I don't understand." Sawyer said.
