A/N:I updated this chapter because of some continuity mistakes, but it was nothing major.
I very reluctantly walked to bio after lunch. I was incredibly nervous because now I knew that Edward could read my mind, and unlike some people I am very bad at controlling my thoughts. And I read that even if you think you're only thinking about one thing you might be thinking about something else too without you even knowing it. It's safe to say I was a nervous mess by the time I got to class. As expected, Edward and Bella were sitting together, what's not so expected was the way Edward was looking at me. He was looking at me like he loved me or something. He was looking at me like I was something to eat, and not the vampire kind of eating. I blushed, and then blushed even harder when Mr. Banner made me introduce myself like all my other teachers.
He told me to sit in the seat behind Edward and Bella, so I did. Or at least I tried to, but was unsuccessful because I tripped. And I'm ninety percent sure that Bella tripped me, but anyway Edward caught me before I hit the ground.
"Are you okay?" Edward asked quietly, looking very concerned, while helping me regain my balance.
"Yeah, thanks" I stuttered out while trying to control my thoughts and not freak out.
"No problem" he whispered. I realized how close we were making my eyes widen and took a step back. I went to my seat while he returned to his. While sitting down I saw Bella was glaring at me, and Edward was for some reason glaring at Bella. Nothing really happened the rest of the class, we just took notes for the most part.
As I was leaving class after the bell rang Edward walked up to me and introduced himself to me, "Hello, I'm Edward Cullen, am I correct in saying you're Evangeline Meadows?". I was only kind of freaking out. I quickly, or as quickly as I could sorted out my thoughts.
"Um, yeah, but you can call me Evie" I said while laughing nervously. He in return gave me the iconic crooked grin. I can see why Bella was al-, Okay I need to stop talking, or thinking rather.
"What class do you have next Evie?" he questioned.
"Spanish" as I said this his smile widened.
"Really? I have Spanish too. May I walk you to class?" He asked charmingly. I was feeling just a bit dazed. It was a bit hard to think straight.
"Uh, yeah" I responded, but next thing I know someone, Bella Swan, "accidently" runs into me. My ribs to be specific which are broken, "Oww, what the hell?" I exclaim while dropping my books and wrapping my arms around myself.
"Sorry, it was an accident" she says fakely, barely concealing her smile while walking away.
"Evie," Edward says, getting my attention, "are you okay?" he asked while grabbing my books from the ground.
"Yeah, just gimme a sec" I answered, still in pain, and finding it slightly difficult to breathe.
"I think you should go to the nurse," he said while I shook my head, "I should say I'm taking you the nurse" while carefully wrapping his arm around my waist, taking my backpack, and leading me towards the nurse's office. I decided to not complain because the only reason I really wanted to stay at school is because of the Cullens, but otherwise I didn't want to be there. So, he led me to the nurse and explained what happened. The nurse advised me to go home, but said that I shouldn't drive myself.
"I can drive her home" Edward offered as expected. The nurse agreed and wrote both of us a pass. We were walking towards his car, when I thought about my car. "My sister, Alice, will take your car back to your house" he informed me, trying to make it seem as though he hadn't just answered my thoughts. We soon got into his shiny, silver, Volvo. And I was anxiously awaiting the conversation that was soon to occur.
He opened my door for me and then closed it when I was in the car. He then put our bags in the back before walking to the driver's side of the door and getting in the car. As he started the car, he also started asking me questions.
"What's your favorite color, Evie?" the way his voice sounded made me feel dazed, and it made it hard to think. These feelings were then multiplied when I looked him in the eyes. I could see what Bella was talking about now.
"Um, I don't know, maybe pink, or blue, or something?" I said dumbly, I never really had a favorite color, I liked most colors. "What about you?" I questioned back.
"I really like blue" he responded as expected. "What type of music do you like?". I had to think about how to answer his question because most of the music I listened to didn't exist yet. I didn't even know if I would ever exist. I blanched slightly at the thought that some of my favorite artists might not even exist.
"Pop, and older music, anything, really"
"What artists?" he asked, seemingly genuinely curious.
"Uh, Mariah Carey, Destiny's Child, Backstreet Boys, Maroon 5, Wezzer, Lesley Gore, I suppose" I said hesitantly, it was true that I liked all of those artists, but if it weren't two-thousand-five I never would have used them as examples of artists I liked.
"You like the Backstreet Boys?" He asked with a weird look on his face.
"Well not everyone has your 'refined' music tastes of Debussy, Beethoven, and whoever else" I said jokingly with an attitude, but apparently, he didn't take it as a joke because he looked very upset. I can honestly say I was a little scared. "It was just a joke" I explained with a nervous laugh. Thankfully he seemed to calm down a bit and we spent the rest of the short car ride talking about things we liked. I was still blushing from the way he looked at me, but he didn't seem bothered by it at all. If anything, he seemed to enjoy it.
When we arrived at my house, he insisted on staying with me, and I was more than okay with that. We were sitting on the couch talking and I hadn't realized how close we were until our faces were practically an inch apart. The next thing I knew after that realization was that Edward's lips were on mine, and I was freaking out in a good way. Our kiss was brief, and that was far too short, so I tried to kiss him again. Which I did successfully.
Somehow Edward didn't hear that Charlie was home, so when I heard him open the door I very quickly pulled away from Edward and put as much space between us as possible. I realized how suspicious we must have looked to Charlie. My face was flushed, and both Edward and I were breathing a bit heavier than normal. I don't how I expected Edward to look, but I hadn't expected him to look so smug.
"Hey" Charlie said skeptically, eyeing the both of us with a suspicious gleam in his eyes. "Shouldn't you both be in school?" he asked while walking a bit more into the living room.
"Hey Charlie"
"Hello Chief Swan" Edward and I said at the same time. "Evie had an incident at school, and she hurt her ribs. I offered to take her home when the nurse advised her to go home, but that she couldn't drive herself" he explained kindly.
"Okay…" Charlie replied hesitantly, believing him but still suspicious as to what we were doing before he got home.
"If you'll excuse me Chief Swan, I really should head home" he informed Charlie politely. He said goodbye to me and left when Charlie nodded his head.
"So, you and that Cullen boy dating, or something?" he asked almost immediately after Edward left.
My face flushed bright red, "No, we're just friends" I told him with a nervous laugh. He raised an eyebrow but left the conversation at that, for which I was grateful for. I went to bed for the night.
And that was the first night I dreamt of Edward Cullen. In this universe anyway.
A/N:I don't know how often I'll be able to update this week because I'm going to be busy so. Anyway, review if you'd like. Bye xoxo
