Lexie ran out of the hospital, tears rolling down her chin after having to hold in her anger of Mark breaking up with her because she was apparently too emotional and too much of a pain.After the big argument she just wanted to sleep and forget about the dreadful day she had. Once she got home she fell in her bed and drifted off feeling heart broken and empty.
She woke up,the time was 2:30am. Her stomach dropped because she felt liquid rushing to her mouth as she sprinted to the bathroom.She pulled her hair back as the acidic liquid emerged violently from her mouth as she coughed and gagged groaning in pain and annoyance.
Her sister woke up by hearing the dry coughs and wrenching from across the corridor and Meredith put on her dressing gown to see what was going on.
As she walked towards the bathroom she looked with sympathy as she saw Lexie lying in a weak fetal position on the cool bathroom floor."Lex what's wrong were you throwing up"Meredith whispered as she stroked Lexies lower back soothingly as Lexie was facing the other way."I'm fine,leave me alone."Lexie said slightly agitated.Meredith felt quite taken aback as her sister never talked to her in that manner.
"Meredith put the back of her hand on her forehead and took it off suddenly"Your burning up Lex,I'm gonna get a thermometer"Meredith ran back a few moments later with a thermometer in her hand.As Meredith went to insert the thermometer in her ear Lexie pushed Meredith's hand away and grumbled"I'm fine I just probably ate something bad yesterday let me be."Lexie groaned.As Meredith put the thermometer in Lexies ear she said"Lex you ate what I ate and I feel fine you might have the flu or something else."Meredith took the thermometer out of Lexie ear are read the digital reading.
Mer's eyebrow raised "It says 102 you have a temperature, your staying home tomorrow." "Nooooooooooo" Lexie whined"I'm a first year resident I can't be missing work what if I get behind "Lexie exclaimed."If you won't listen to me I will call Mark to put some sense in to you Lexie." Meredith said in a more stern voice slightly annoyed by Lexies immature tone.
A tear rolled down Lexies cheek as she leaned against the toilet looking away from Meredith."I'm not with Mark anymore...He broke up with me" Anger rushed through Meredith's veins, why would Mark leave Lexie,she is such a sweet girl?"Im so sorry Lex,I didn't know let's get you back to bed"Meredith said in a more sweet tone as she helped Lexie get up supporting her by wrapping her arm around her waist taking her to her bed."Get a good rest Lexie i will see how you are in the morning."Meredith said kissing Lexie on the forehead.
