Caelus wished that this day was only a nightmare, that everything would end. He wants to wake up just to realize that all of this was a bad dream so he could set everything on a different path and be happy, make everyone happy that deserved it. He was leisurely strolling through streets in the dreamscape. It was always night in Penacony, but he couldn't help to feel that it was more like prison. The night sky was not soothing his nerves. His talk with Aventurine still plaguing his mind. Missed texts on his phone that he couldn't care to respond to. Being alone made him feel good, but he knew that it's not right. He didn't want to let them know what has happened, so he puts on a play and pretends that he's okay. The streets noise is unbearable, and the memories of walking through them not so long ago with a girl that he knew nothing about and now she was gone. It haunted him. He wanted to rip his heart from his chest. The pain was too much. He have been searching for a reason or meaning why he never heals. If this was a dream why does he wish to be wide awake. Caelus just wanted to feel right. In this big world he felt lonely, Astral Express was always nice to him, but he knew that his home was somewhere else. He can't never find a place where he belongs. He started to overthing about his life and what he was doing. Loosing touch, he started to feel like this isn't real life. He couldn't see straight, his heart rate increasing, it's too much.
Lost in his thoughts he bumped into someone, Caelus quickly apologized but when he tried to see who it was the said person was nowhere to be seen. He concluded that he really needs to stop, there was a lot to figure out. He went to the closest rail to lean on it. And the first thing he saw was a poster of Robin another girl that died today and the Grand Theater. His head dropped down, he tried to hide his tears, he didn't want anyone to notice him. It was just a nothing, nowhere type of night. His tears falling down to the car roads below him. He was not so sure about anything anymore. What's the point of waking up. Why he can't do anything right. He wanted to hide his shaking hands so he put them inside the pockets. He didn't expect to find a letter at the bottom. He really wished to kill the fucking noise now. He was barely holding on, and this didn't help at all. He could take a guess who written it. And what if she is responsible for all of this death. He wasn't sure if he could forgive her if that was the case. But the content of the letter didn't explain anything she told him that she left something for him in the dream bubble. He wasn't sure if he wanted to know. But he never really refused her command, did he?
Dr. Edward made his own remarks, but Caelus didn't listen at this point. He needed to experience this dream, to know what she wanted to show women will definitely lead him to an early grave. He closed his eyes and let himself engulf the dream. But for some reason he struggled to open them again. The vision was too blurry, he could feel blood spilling on the eyes. The silhouette of a man before him, was he protecting her? He assumed that he sees from Kafka vision. The fighting style was so familiar it was like he himself was protecting her, and that might have been the case. There was nothing he could do, he was only an spectator. But the blood pool around was not making it easy. Kafka must have took really bad hit. Struggling to stay wide awake the eyes started to close, the last thing they saw was how the protector decapitated their enemy.
„Kafka!, please open your eyes. I need you." The begging of the boy drown out ringing in the ears. The eyes slowly rose up to see their disciple.
„This what the edge of your seat was made of." She was leaning on the wall, she didn't try to get up, she wasn't sure if she had any broken bones. Caelus was worryingly looking at her. She felt guilty, she shouldn't have made a joke.
„I've been through worse, don't worry too much." He was taking care of her wounds, her shirt torn up, and jacket was beyond repair. Shame, she really liked that coat.
„If you die, don't expect flowers from me." He gave her a stern look. „I probably will be dead too."
That hurt, she didn't want that, She doesn't want his dead to be because of her. „It's fine, I can live without you visiting my grave. I know I don't deserve it. But I want you to remember me. To remember me fondly."
Caelus stopped. And looked into her eyes. It's really rare for her to speak from the bottom of the heart, he appreciated it. And he knew she really mean it.
„I don't want to see you dead. I…" She gripped his hand, there was no need for more words. She knew what he wanted to say.
„Don't move, you're still bleeding, I need to close the wounds." She hummed in acknowledge. And let him finish the work.
Some time passed, she was limping and her arm over his shoulder. They didn't have much distance to make, they were on their escape route. So it was only them two alone.
„Caelus, I don't want to lose you too, you know that right?" She tried to make an eye contact, but with no success.
He knew, that someday he will have to say goodbye to her, he just knew. That they were not meant to be together.
„I won't forget you." His eyes were still up ahead. He was afraid that his expression would betray him. She needed to know that he was strong.
„mhm, so my Caelie does have cool side too"
His head jerked up to look at her. She had her victorious smile. he never felt so confused. „Please, don't use that ever again."
„why? I think it's cute."
„Don't you call Blade the same way?"
She leaned her head on his shoulder. „That's different"
„How?"
„He's a friend and you are my destiny"
He was even more confused. This women really liked to be mysterious in some things. He concluded that there was nothing more to this conversation. Their road ahead is going to be full of hardships. But right know he wanted to protect that one life.
The scenery started to shift, he was back. That dream, could he trust it? And what was the point of it. He needed another walk, he again disregarded anything that Dr. Edward could have to say. The need to organize his thoughts was even stronger. So he left for place quiter, But before he could properly leave, his arm ended up interlocked with a women. She had a cap, black hoodie, sunglasses. red pants, and purple shoes.
„You made me wait long enough." She smiled at him
„Kafka, I don't have energy to entertain you." It was a long day, he really didn't want to pay extra attention at her. In fear that she would cause some trouble.
„I know, I know. But I used to be the one that knew you the best. I wanted to…"
„What about Elio script? Our reunion was not meant to be this soon, was it?"
„It's fine, If this would change our destiny Elio wouldn't allow me to meet you."
„Do they know you are here?"
„Yes, at best we have 5 minutes." She gripped his hand. „Caelus, you have friends. You can share some of your burden with them. And if you do they will be as precious as I was once to you. Don't disregard them."
„You still are."
She smiled and leaned her forehead against his. „They are good people, much better than I could ever be."
„Am I…. dear to you?" She took a step back. She placed her fingers on his chin and pressed it down to make him look down at her. Without her heels she wasn't so tall. She moved her hand to his cheek and pulled him into the kiss. To them if felt so short, but in reality they kissed till they run out of air. Kafka ended it. She caressed his cheek and gave him last genuine smile. Without speaking another word she left him standing in the middle of the street alone.
„That didn't make it easier, Kafka." He looked at the night sky, but it did ease his mind a little bit.
