KS: Hi everyone, it's me again. My first Genshin fanfic, and it's an idea that I cooked up literally last night. Sometimes I wonder how my brain works. But enough of that, let's begin the prologue of what could be something amazing. Or weird. Or both.
The Angel's Share tavern was silent during the day, but that was to be expected since many of Mondstadt's heavy drinkers- if not all of them- prefered to indulge themselves in spiritous drinks when the sun went down. However, despite the silence, there were people occupying the otherwise empty tavern, which composed of the following.
Aether, Honorary Knight of Favonius and travelling busybody.
Diluc, owner of the Dawn Winery who moonlights as a vigilante.
Kaeya, Cavalry Captain of the Knights of Favonius who bends the truth on a regular basis.
Albedo, Chief Alchemist of the Knights of Favonius and part-time artist.
Bennett, a young adventurer with a penchant for attracting misfortune wherever he goes.
Razor, a boy who was raised by wolves and has the mannerisms of one.
And Venti, a humble bard who spends his days drinking and may or may not be the patron deity of the country he inhabits.
Also, there's Paimon, the travel guide/emergency food.
Aether clears his throat, getting everyone's attention.
"Gentlemen, I would like to thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedules to meet with me."
"No need for thanks, Aether," Venti said with a grin. "My schedule is always open for you."
"Probably because your schedule is as empty as the bottle you drank out of," Diluc deadpanned.
"Eh-he," the bard chuckled.
"The Knights have nothing major planned, so it is no inconvenience for us to meet here," Albedo said.
"That said, we are wondering why you called us here, Traveller," Kaeya interjected.
Aether sighed, then had a serious expression. "I wish to address a major issue that could threaten the entirety of Teyvat."
The atmosphere in the tavern suddenly shift. Even Venti, who was always the face and voice of cheerfulness, couldn't help but be wary.
"What is the issue?" Diluc asked in a cautious tone.
Aether looked at all of the men in the tavern.
"Most of the men have no chocolate to give to their significant other."
More silence filled the room for a few seconds, then everyone present face faulted, utterly dumbfounded by the clearly non-threatening news.
"Honestly, was it really worth getting us worried over nothing?" Kaeya asked, getting up from the floor.
"I'm dead serious," Aether replied. "Valentines Day is a few days away, and many men throughout Teyvat have no chocolate to give. Do you know how mad a woman gets when the man they love has no chocolate?"
"I am unsure," Venti said. "Please enlighten us, Traveler."
Aether clicked his tongue. "Okay, let me put it to you this way: who would win in a fight between a Treasure Horder, a Fatui Skirmisher, an Abyss Lector and a pissed-off woman who has not gotten any chocolate?"
"The Abyss Lector," Diluc said without hesitation.
"A Fatui Skirmisher," Albedo cut in with a matter-of-fact tone.
"Uh… the Treasure Horder?" Bennett asked, not feeling confident in his answer.
"WRONG!" Aether shouted, slamming his fist on the table, making everyone flinch. "It's obviously the pissed-off woman!"
Diluc sighed. "Aether, I'm not exactly sure what point you're trying to make here, but do you really believe that woman, regardless if she infuriated over not getting any chocolate, has any sliver of a chance of facing off against one of the three you have described, much less all of them?"
"I take it you never heard of the phrase 'hell hath no fury like a woman scorned'," Aether said. "I'm sure that both hell, the Abyss and the Archon-damned Tsarista herself has no fury when compared to a woman who has no chocolate."
"But isn't the Tsarista also a woman?" Venti inevitably asked.
"Not the point," Aether said. "We have to remedy this situation immediately."
"How do you propose we do that?" Kaeya asked.
"Simple," Aether said. "We make chocolate, and sell it to those in need."
More silence filled the room.
"I honestly can't tell if you're joking or not," Diluc deadpanned.
"Diluc, I can assure that I am being serious," Aether replied. "And I should mention that I have friends in Liyue and Inazuma who have agreed to it."
Bennett widened his eyes in surprise. "You have friends in Liyue and Inazuma that have agreed to your plan?"
"Yeah, and they're determined to make it work!" Paimon chirped happily.
"Do you know how to make chocolate?" Kaeya asked.
"Yes, actually," Aether answered. "And I'll teach all of you to make it."
"We'll need ingredients for making chocolate," Albedo pointed out. "I doubt anyone would like chalk-flavored chocolate."
"We can get some ingredients out in the wild easy," Aether said. "And one of my friends in Liyue has access to something known as cocoa powder, which is the main ingredient."
Everyone present took the traveler's words to heart, though wonder if what they are doing can even be considered legal. Still, they couldn't deny that making chocolate for others and making a profit from it is quite exciting.
"So… are you in?" Aether asked.
The group of young men looked amongst themselves, then turned to Aether.
"I'm in," Venti said.
"As am I," Kaeya added.
"I will assist in any possible," Albedo cut in.
"If nothing else, this will be interesting," Diluc sighed.
"Razor will help," Razor said.
"So will I!" Bennett cheered.
"Don't forget Paimon!"
Aether smiled. "Great. Now, let's get to Liyue."
And thus, the tale of how a group of young men sought out to help out their fellow man across Teyvat (if even if it's restricted to three nation so far) by making chocolate and selling it to them.
Surely, this will have no negative repercussions at all.
KS: That's right. The boys are gonna make some chocolate for some poor souls and profit from it. I'm not making this up. Well, in a way, that I am, but that's besides the point. I have come up with this and intend to go through with it. And I hope you can support me on what could possibly be a real amusing mess. Until next time, fave, follow, review, and I'll see you when I'll see you. Peace.
