Note: As it's February, it makes sense to do a story for Valentine's Day. You don't always have to do one during the season, but it's a good exercise to show certain pairings in romantic situations. For this story, it will focus on a couple that I haven't really covered before. Before you ask, this story will be focusing on a canon pairing, not a fan one. As much as I want to focus on fan pairings, I've got to focus on official ones as well. Regardless of what you think of the couple, and the series this story is based on (if you're familiar with it), I hope that you enjoy it.
Now that I've said that, let's get on with the story.
A Night to Ourselves
The sun was setting over the Evergreen Forest, the afternoon turning into evening. As such, many of the residents were heading home after work, some having worked later than others. It was a long day for the hard workers of the area, but they managed to get through it. Of course, they would have to go back to work the next day, but for now they could relax. Some would have to work the weekend, but others would only work until Saturday rolled around. Regardless of one's work schedule, they could all agree that going home after a long day was a relief.
One such resident who was relieved to head home worked at a local TV station. He was the host of a cooking show called Chef Surprise, having gotten the job despite the chances of him getting it being rather low. The resident in-question was a raccoon with a bent nose, sharing such a trait with certain members of his family. He wore a sweater vest, a dress shirt and a bow tie, but no pants or shoes. While the procyonid would normally drive, he decided to walk today. He was walking on a route he knew, so he was safe.
As he approached his house, the raccoon let out a sigh of relief, knowing that he was almost home. Walking up to the door, he knocked on it, thinking that his family was doing something. The procyonid put his ear up to the door, so that he could hear what was going on inside. Such a method was ineffective, but not to a raccoon. Through the door, he could hear someone approaching it. Hearing that, the raccoon took his ear off the door, backing up so that he wouldn't get hit with it.
"Bonjour, George." A lovely voice with a French accent greeted.
Turning towards the doorway, George smiled, knowing who the voice belonged to. It was his wife, Nicole, who was greeting him behind the door. She was wearing an orange shirt and a scarf, lacking pants and shoes like him. The sow had married the boar almost twenty one years ago, having met in Ontario two years beforehand. They had two children, raising them with responsibility. The eldest of their children was their daughter, Lisa, while the youngest was their son, Bentley. Both of them lived with George and Nicole, though Lisa was going to move out when she went to college.
"Hey, honey." George spoke.
"Long day at work?" Nicole asked.
"Yeah," the boar said, "but at least we finished recording the new episode. How about you?"
"Well, buzinezz waz zlow at ze muzeum." The sow said. "Profezzor Zmedley Zmythe told me zat it would be better tomorrow. I hope zat's true!"
Stepping inside his house, George was about to close the door. However, Nicole closed it for him. Now that he was home, the boar breathed a sigh of happiness. It seemed like just yesterday that he moved into the Evergreen Forest with his wife and children, but it was only a year ago. They weren't happy to move beforehand, having to leave behind their previous home to enter a new one. That was until George got his job and the kids had been cheered up by a family friend: Bert Raccoon.
Bert was someone who George grew up with. He was closer in age to George's younger brother, Ralph, having even attended the same classes as him, despite being rather immature for his age. Bentley and Lisa were next to meet the energetic raccoon, with him becoming like an older brother to the former and developing a crush on the latter. George had been updated on his friend from his children, which made him want to speak to the younger boar again. Nicole had met Bert shortly before the family moved to the Evergreen Forest, having spoken to him over the phone. She might have been the last to meet him, but the sow grew to like him, perhaps quicker than her son and daughter did.
Looking around the house, George was surprised to see that Lisa and Bentley were nowhere to be found. However, that surprise soon turned to concern. It wasn't like either of his children to be out of the house without telling him or Nicole. Even Bentley left a note behind whenever he left without contacting anyone. With that in mind, George feared that something bad happened to his daughter and son, which was something no parent wanted. Of course, that also fueled a desire to go after anyone who dared to harm his children. If anyone malicious touched them, they were dead meat.
"Nicole, where are the kids?" George asked.
"Liza iz with Ralph and Melizza, becauze Bert invited her to ze Raccoondominium." Nicole said, hoping to ease her husband's tension. "Az for Bentley, he'z out on a trip with hiz clazzmatez."
"Right," the boar said, "I forgot that Bentley had met the requirements to go on that trip. And here I was, getting ready to go searching for him and Lisa!"
"Don't worry, George, they're in zafe handz." The sow said.
"I just wanted to be sure, honey." He said. "After all, I'm not the kind of guy to dish out some vigilante justice. You'll have to call Charles Bronson for that!"
That line got a chuckle out of Nicole, bringing a smile to George's face.
"Since it's just us for the night, shall I make you dinner?" George offered.
"Odd, I figured zat I would be ze one to cook for you." Nicole stated.
"Honey, I insist." The boar said.
Walking into the kitchen, George began to work on a meal just for two. He got the side dishes together, all while putting the main dish in the oven. As he finished up dinner, the raccoon went to set up the dining room. Setting down plates and silverware, the boar decided to make it far more romantic. Knowing how several dates of his went in the past, George knew how to make dinner romantic. Just before calling Nicole in, he went to get something that would make it better.
"It's ready!" George called out.
As she walked into the dining room, Nicole could not help but gasp at the scene before her. The room was dimly lit, with some candles on the table. Dinner was on the table as well, with there only being enough for two people. Plates and silverware were arranged like how a fancy restaurant would place them, complete with wine glasses. A bottle of wine was on the table as well, which made the setting feel complete. By seeing all of this, Nicole could not believe that George had enough time to do all of this, though she was impressed.
"Wow, George, zis is wonderful!" Nicole spoke.
"Go ahead, take a seat." George said.
Once Nicole sat down at the table, she and George began to eat dinner. As they ate, they had glasses of the wine, even clinking their glasses prior to drinking it. The moment they had gotten their bellies full, the raccoons decided to wait until later to have dessert. Dessert for that night was an old-fashioned cherry pie that George had learned from a local pastry chef who had guest starred on Chef Surprise. He and Nicole ate a slice of it, enjoying it. They only ate one slice of it each, wanting to let Lisa and Bentley try it when they got back.
After their meal, George and Nicole decided to watch a movie. It was a simple comedy movie, albeit one that had been released recently. The raccoons found it funny, if not a tad immature. Despite it being a comedy movie, there was a musical number or two, which made it more of a comedic musical than a basic comedy. Nonetheless, George and Nicole enjoyed it. By the time the credits rolled, it was almost midnight.
With midnight approaching, Nicole went to go take a shower. Once she was done, George took one as well, needing it after such a long day. As he left the bathroom, the raccoon went to the master bedroom, intent on lying down. The moment he stepped inside, however, he was met with a beautiful sight. Nicole was lying on her back, her eyes focused on her husband. She was wearing a beautiful nightgown that George had gifted her some time ago, which was a year before their family moved into the Evergreen Forest.
Entering the room, George sat down next to Nicole, her eyes still locking onto him. They kissed for a bit, then lie down together, with George pulling the covers over them. As they cuddled up, the raccoons hoped that no one would interrupt them. While it was likely that Lisa would be home at some point, they knew that she would knock the door before coming in unannounced. Of course, she would probably spend the night at the Raccoondominium instead of coming home right at midnight. Ralph, Melissa and Bert were trustworthy, so the sow was in good hands.
As they lie down together, George spoke with Nicole.
"So, how did you like dinner?" George asked.
"It waz deliciouz, George." Nicole said. "Zat pie waz tazty az well."
"Good thing that we didn't eat it all," the boar said, "because Lisa and Bentley would want to try it."
"Zey are good kidz, aren't zey?" The sow asked.
"Yeah, we did a good job raising them." He said. "Hopefully, Ralph and Melissa have kids as well, because I kinda want to be an uncle."
"Being an aunt would be wonderful, but do Ralph and Melizza want a kid?" She asked.
"I don't know, but it's their decision."
"Yeah. Hopefully, Liza and Bentley come home zafe. I couldn't imagine anything bad happening to zem."
"Don't worry, I'm sure they'll call us. The kids are in safe hands, even if Lisa is around Bert. And we all know how HE is!"
George and Nicole had a small laugh, then cuddled some more. After a little bit, their eyelids began to droop. Nicole yawned, closing her eyes and falling asleep on her husband. George fell asleep not long after, his arm around his wife. However, they weren't entirely unconscious.
"Goodnight, honey." George whispered.
"Night, George." Nicole muttered.
That night, they slept well, letting nothing bother them. Ever since they had gotten married, George and Nicole's love grew, something they wished would never fade. It was something the raccoons hoped that Lisa and Bentley would feel someday, even if neither one of them got married. As they slept, they let their bodies rest, so that they could be ready for the next day.
Note: Bet you thought there was going to be an intimate scene, did you? If there was, this story would have been rated M. While I'm okay with writing adult stuff, I have to write some more kid-friendly stuff as well. Also, I apologize if this story was a little short. This was my first time doing a story for George and Nicole, so I didn't know what all I was going to write. Nonetheless, I hope you enjoyed it.
Until next time, guys, this is Newcomer24, signing off. Peace! Also, have a Happy Valentine's Day!
