Hey guys! Currently, I'm working on a sixteen chapter fanfic, and I'm planning to publish it in a couple weeks, maybe in a month. While I'm working on it, I'll also be working on short fics just like this! I hope you enjoy this fic! 33
The towering black trees watched as Nico strolled through the forest, reflecting on his life. Losing years while vacationing in the Lotus Casino, losing his sister, Bianca, and finally, meeting the love of his life, Will Solace. He sighed, and remembered his embarrassing crush on Percy Jackson. When he was little, he was obsessed with him once he saw him, fighting monsters and using his "awesome" water powers.
"Psh…Percy Jackson. Always gotta get on my mind somehow." he mumbled. Then, he saw a familiar figure walking through the woods, towards the direction of the entrance to the underworld. He tried his best to decipher who it was. He had a Camp Half-Blood shirt, beads decorating his neck, jet black hair, and a familiar sea green glow to his eyes.
"P-Percy? Is that you?" he questioned, shocked. He stayed as silent as the night. He walked past Nico with a tired expression. Nico ran up to him, and pinned him to the floor.
"Answer me, Percy!" he commanded, with tears hanging from the rims of his eyes. Percy tiredly stared at the dark prince of the underworld. He mumbled something so quiet even a hellhound couldn't hear it. Nico tilted his ear closer to his lips, hoping he'd be able to hear him better.
"If you ever see Annabeth, t-tell her that I loved her." he said. "Tell everyone that it was okay. I'm okay. It was my time. I had to sacrifice myself for them. Tell them, Nico. Tell them" Nico felt himself tearing up. Percy, all time savior of Olympus, leader of both Roman and Greek camps, had sacrificed himself for their safety. His hands shook, and tears stained his pale white cheeks.
"I-I'll tell them. I promise" his voice rattled. Before he could let go of him, Percy forcefully pulled him closer.
"And Nico, I'm sorry that I wasn't able to protect your sister. I wish I had stopped your sister from sacrificing herself, and sacrificed myself instead. I'm really, really sorry, Nico." Nico's jaw clenched, and more tears fell from the red rims of his eyes. He gulped, attempting to prevent himself from crying any further. After all these years, he still regretted his sister's death, even though it was never his fault. He felt as if it was partly his fault that Percy still regretted her death. He took in a shaky, deep breath, and stared back into his deep, sea green pools.
"Don't. Don't apologize. It was never your fault. I should be the one apologizing for blaming you. You did the best you could." he assured Percy, "Now, go. Be free. I'll make sure to tell the others. I-I'll put in a good word for you so you'll be sure to go to Elysium, too" Percy smiled brighter than the sun itself.
"Thank you, Nico." he thanked. Nico watched as he stood up, and continued his journey to the Underworld with the rest. That day was the day an angel had died. Percy Jackson: a hero, a friend, and a leader to all.
