Chloe Decker had been looking forward to a relaxing evening at the movies with her boyfriend Lucifer Morningstar. After a long week of solving cases, she wanted nothing more than to kick back, enjoy a nice movie, and forget about the chaos of their lives.

It was easier than expected to convince Lucifer to come with her. He was generally open to many activities, though sitting in a seat for several hours while not being able to do anything else was usually something he didn't enjoy much. Still, he agreed, and the couple took Lucifer's car to drive to one of the nearest movie theaters.

As they walked into the already bustling cinema, Chloe glanced at the big monitors, searching for a title that caught her eye.

"How about this one, Lucifer?" she suggested casually, pointing to a movie called "Eternal Love." While she wouldn't admit it, romantic movies were her guilty pleasure. And what would be better than watching a romantic movie with her boyfriend?

Lucifer wrinkled his nose in distaste. "Romantic drivel, Detective? I'm not sure that's quite my style."

Chloe smiled at him, trying to be convincing. "Come on, Lucifer. It'll be fun. Just this once."

Sighing dramatically, Lucifer relented. "Very well, Detective. For you, I shall endure even the clichéd romance."

Chloe knew that he sounded more dramatic than he actually was. Her boyfriend liked to exaggerate and sound over the top, but in reality he often enjoyed things that he first complained about. She wasn't sure if it would happen in this case too, but that was something they just had to figure out.

They purchased their tickets and entered the dimly lit theater, finding seats near the back. As the lights went out and the movie began, Chloe settled in, her eyes glued to the screen, waiting to get fully immersed in a probably very predictable tale of lovers.

However, as the story unfolded, Chloe's excitement turned into confusion. The romantic plotline took an unexpected turn, and before she knew it, the protagonist had unintentionally summoned the Devil himself. The originally romantic movie turned darker and darker with the summed devil wreaking havoc on the lovers' lives.

Lucifer leaned over to Chloe, a mixture of annoyance and amusement shown across his face. "Detective, I don't remember signing a contract for this particular cinematic masterpiece. This is clearly a misrepresentation of my captivating charm and impeccable style."

Chloe chuckled softly. "Looks like the devil really is in the details, Lucifer."

As the movie progressed, Lucifer couldn't help but critique the absurdity of the scenes. He complained about how the Devil was portrayed as a one-dimensional villain, how the effects were laughably inaccurate, and how the romance was utterly forced.

"Detective, surely you can see that this is an affront to my very existence!" he exclaimed, throwing his hands up in exasperation.

Chloe's laughter filled the air as she nudged him playfully. "Well, Lucifer, at least it's giving us something to talk about, right? And who knows, maybe it'll get better."

But it didn't get better. It actually got even more ridiculous the further the movie progressed to the point where none of them could take anything said or done in the movie seriously anymore. Instead of watching some cliché romance movie, they watched a cliché romance and cliché vampire movie that tried to be the worst in all possible areas. At the end not even Lucifer could complain anymore and they were both just laughing at the horrible plot line and execution.

As the credits finally rolled, Chloe turned to Lucifer, her eyes sparkling mischievously. "So, did that live up to your expectations, Mr. Devil?"

Lucifer smirked, his eyes glinting with amusement. "I suppose it was a rather entertaining display of misguided devilishness, Detective. And I must admit, spending this time with you was quite enjoyable, even if the movie itself was...utterly diabolical."

They both burst into laughter again, their hearts light with the shared absurdity of the experience. In the end, it didn't matter that the movie had gone completely awry. What truly mattered was that they had spent a great time together. It was one of those dates that Chloe would surely remember for a long time.
